HP Pavilion Slimline s3624uk Desktop start up errors

Hi i have a HP Pavilion Slimline s3624uk Desktop PC, unfortunately there has been several power cuts in my area which has sent my PC a little bonkers. when ever it loads it says checking file system on C... one of your disks needs to be checked for consistency.............. it then gives you the option to check it or press esc, i thought it will sort its self out but today my computer screen loaded blue with the HP invent logo and F9 F10 F11 options but took over 45 mins to load.  im creating a back up but does anyone know how i can fix this problem.
Thanks

Your HP Pavilion Slimline s5713w Desktop Computer is an odd "duck"

NOTEnly socket AM2+ processors are supported with this motherboard.

Hi!  I am having problems with my HP desktop computer and wonder if  someone can help me solve this issue.
My CD/DVD drive is no longer working on my HP Pavilion Slimline s3720y desktop. When I tried to test my CD/DVD drive  to ensure it it was working properly , When I clicked to open Hardware Diagnostic Tools and it said "The software program is not found".  The CD/DVD drive was working but will not respond or recognize that a disk is in the drive.  It states insert disk in drive.  Where are my diagnostic tools that are missing?

    Hi,
Your Seagate update CD is to update the firmware for Seagate hard drives.
Did you try the tips in the post that I referenced above?
Error 31 indicates that the driver is not installing correctly.
Go to Device Manager, locate the CD/DVD drive, open up the CD/DVD drive, double click, click on the Driver tab, then uninstall the driver. Now reboot your PC and Windows will re-install the driver.

Hi,  Please review this post and this Microsoft information and again this information. What are the results?

  • Blackberry Desktop Start-Up Error

I am getting the all-too-common .net Runtime 2.0 Error Event ID:5000.
I am running Windows XP SP3, with the latest updates.
I was able to run version 6.0.0 B042 for about one month before the error started.
This error occures with the following versions of Blackberry Desktop software:
       Desktop Manager 5.0.1 B84 MultiLanguage
BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0.0 B042 multilanguage
       BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0.1 B21
       BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0.2 B43
Here is what I have tried:
Installing earlier versions of the desktop software.
Installing later versions of the desktop software.
Each time i attempted to install the earlier/later versions of the software:
Full uninstall of the BlackBerry software.
             Reboot.
Uninstall every version of .Net Framework.
             Reboot.
Uninstall every version of Visual C++.
             Reboot.
             Reinstall the .Net Framework versions.
             Reboot.
             Reinstall the Visual C++ packages.
             Reboot.
             Reinstall the Blackberry Desktop Software.
             Reboot.
Try to start the Blackberry Desktop. --->  Blackberry Desktop software displays error window "BlackBerry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and needs to close."
Here is what the event viewer is reporting:
Date: XX-XXX-XXXX   Source: .Net Framework Runtime 2.0 Error
    Time: XX:XX:XX          Category: None
    Type: Error                  Event ID: 5000
    User: N/A
    Description:
     EventType clr20r3, P1 rim.desktop.exe, P2 6.0.2.42, P3 4da50fa5, P4 rim.desktop, P5 6.0.2.42, P6 4da50fa5, P7 13, P8 1f, P9 system.typeinitialization, P10 NIL.
    This is getting annoying.
I have tried to change the error handling in the Aspnet.config file, without any change in behavior.
Do I really need to find a five-year-old Treo to have the functionality that I require?  Or will BlackBerry pull it's head out of its fourth point of contact and properly debug their software before release?
Any ideas on how to solve this?

  • HP Pavilion Elite e9280t Desktop PC power on/start windows issue

HP Pavilion Elite e9280t Desktop PC, Windows 7 Pro.  When powered on (using the power switch), the blue power light and amber hard drive lights on the front illuminate, but monitor shows no signal and the keyboard lights do not come on.  F10 on the keyboard doesn't bring anything up on the screen either.  Sounds like there is hard drive activity, but the amber light does not flash.  If I put a bootable dvd in the drive, it appears to read the dvd, but does not boot from it (nothing appears on the monitor.)  Monitor, keyboard and mouse have been verified operational.  Hard drive data appears to be intact and have verified 12v and 5v operational from power supply.  Haven't found a place to verify 3v power.  Depressing the power switch does not turn the computer off, only way is to unplug the power cord.  This sympton happened a couple of weeks ago, but after several power cycles, it booted fine and worked for a while.  Not this time, though.

    HI JIMINFL:
How was your weekend, I  hope  it was super!
I understand that when you boot up, you get a blank screen. You also said that you know the keyboard, mouse and monitor are working.  I am sending you a link to a document on "Monitor or TV is Blank after Starting the Computer" click here. I am also sending "HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI" click here to test for hardware failures. Please let me know the outcome.

  • HP Pavilion Slimline Windows 7 64-bit: "No speakers or headphones are plugged in" error message

I have an HP pavilion slimline, model s5120y, with Windows 7 (64-bit).
I just got my power supply replaced and when I brought it home and plugged everything in, I couldn't get any sound. It told me no audio devices were plugged in, but my monitor with speakers was plugged into the audio jack in the back, the green one (it's an onboard sound card and NOT HDMI). I also tried my headphones and same thing, so I know it's not the monitor.
So then I tried the jack in the front and it worked, although the sound was really low, even with the volume turned all the way up. But, then like an hour later it went off again giving me the same message that no devices are plugged in. I tried the back jack again and then it worked again for a short amount of time. It keeps going in and out and switching to whether the back or front jacks will work, or nothing at all telling me nothing is plugged in.
Another thing is that my web cam has a mic, which is plugged in using USB, and the mic on the cam seems to record fine, and I assume it needs the sound card to do that. So, i'm guessing this is some sort of software problem because if the sound card was **bleep**ed up then the mic wouldn't be able to record, right? Well, the program I was using was showing that it was recording and the levels went up as I talked louder, so I assume it was picking everything up properly.
The audio worked fine before I brought it in for repair but I can't figure out what could have happened to break it when all he did was plug in a new power supply.
I went to the device manager and it says everything is working properly and all drivers are up to date. I also uninstalled then re-installed, disabled then re-enabled. I even went to the manufacturer's page and installed the original driver for RealTek. I also went into BIOS to make sure onboard audio was enabled. Every troubleshooting option I have on my computer says everything is working fine, but that there are no speakers plugged in even when they are.
Also I should mention, when the sound does come back on, it's pretty low and sometimes muffled, and sometimes the monitor speakers will make a dim clicking kind of sound, but not all the time. One person told me it was a known issue with the latest windows update, but I haven't done an update since I got the computer back and I couldn't find any info on that anywhere on the internet.
Thanks to anyone who has any suggestions!

Hi Srizzle, I have done some research for you and I have found a updated driver that is designed to resolve the issue of No sound from head phones or from external speakers. Please click on the link to get to the driver down load page.

  • Please help! Peripheral does not appear to be plugged in on Pavilion Slimline 400-224

    Hi,
I just purchased a HP Pavilion Slimline 400-224 two days ago and the internal sound system doesn't work. There's a red x icon on the speaker icon.
I plugged up headphones to the headphone port in the front of the tower and I the sound worked. However, there's no sound when I unplug the headhpones.
Is this the way it's supposed to be?

  • Pavilion Slimline s7700e Display brightens but is blank when waking from sleep.

When the computer wakes from sleep it seems to come up normally but the screen doesn't work. It brightens and there is a line across the top of the screen but it doesn't show anything. If I shut the computer down by holding the power button in and start it up again everything comes up normally.
I have recently assumed care of this computer. In investigating this problem I found that the computer had never been updated. Have since installed all Vista updates. Went to HP site and installed updates (including BIOS), changed power options and am still having the problem.
Do not know what else to do.
    Would appreciate any ideas.
    Thank you

  • Audio not working anymore - HP Pavilion p7-1436s Desktop PC

Please help! I'm going mad trying to fix this. I have a HP Pavilion p7-1436s Desktop PC with windows 8.1 64bit installed. The audio has stopped working. I have IDT High Defintion Audio CODEC installed in my system. My warranty expired last year
The little white icon of a speaker has a red circle with a white X. When I click it I get an error message saying 'one or more audio services are not running-not fixed'. When I check the IDT audio it shows it's enabled and that I have the lastest driver update. Why is it doing this?? I tried downloading other audio drivers and get a message 'this device is not supported by your hardware, install will abort'.

    Hi,
    Pleae try:
    1. Hold down Win key ( ) then press R, type Services.msc in the Search box.
    2. Scroll down the list of services, right-click Windows Audio and select Start.
    3. Select Properties for Windows Audio and set its Startup Type to Automatic.
    Regards.

  • Pavilion Slimline locks up in sleep mode-fan runs high-won't power up unless I pull power cord 1st

Brand new HP Pavilion Slimline 400-314 Desktop - while in sleep mode sometimes will cause the computer to lock up, the power light will be on solid, the fan is running on high.  Only way to unlock the computer is to hold the power button in for 5 seconds.  I wait for 15-20 seconds, then press the power button to turn it back on.  Immediatly the computer starts back up again with the power light on solid and the fan running on high.  The only way to break this cycle is to first pull the power cord from the back, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in.  This time when I power up the computer it fires up just fine.
Is this a BIOS issue?  Please help as I don't have that much hair left.
