The volume is on the highest setting, but there is not sound coming from the computer. I can't hear anything. What can I do?

Hi,
Can you post back with the following.
1.  The full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook ( from the service tag underneath your notebook ) - see Here for a further explanation.
2.  The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 32bit ).

  • I am trying to install iCloud Update on My HP Pavilion Windows 8.1and keep getting "error 2343 icloud"

I have an HP Pavilion 500-214 Desktop with an AMD Elite Quad-core AB-6500 Accelerated Processor, 8GB DDR3 System Memory, and a 2TB Hard Drive.  My Operating System is Windows 8.1 64 bit.  I have been trying to install Apple iCloud 4.0 and keep getting this message:
icloud For Windows Installer Error: This installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.  Error Code 2343 ~ Try downloading only and install manually.
Neither option have worked.  I need to know whatto do in order to fix this problem.  I have not used "troubleshooting" but will if suggested; went straight to Google Search for error 2343 - icloud

I could never get icloud to download except for it would go into a downloaded folder which I kept getting error 2343 every time I tried to install, so I deleted that folder and then I had to uninstall iTunes first  and then I was able to install icloud and then after that reinstalled iTunes!  It worked! I have been trying for 2 months now and finally did it!  I did not lose anything that was backed up to iTunes!  I also have new laptop with windows 8.1

  • Help resetting password for HP Pavilion Windows 8

I bought an HP Pavilion notebook a few months ago.  It has Windows 8.  I was away from my computer over the holidays and, stupid me, forgot the password.  I assume it is the Administrator's password--the one that is requested when you turn on the computer.  Can someone help?
    Thanks!

  • C6150 with Pavilion (Windows 7)

On a c6150 and a new Pavilion with Windows 7, I can fax and scan, but can't print.  I get an error  message: (error 0x0000007a)  when I try to print a test page, either with a network connect or a USB connection.  Help, anyone?

Is the error message on the printer screen or the computer?  Do you have 32 bit or 64 bit Windows 7?
With the printer connected by USB you might try the diagnostic tools at http://www.hp.com/go/tools.

  • InDesign stopped working on HP Pavilion Windows 8 laptop?

I've tried the ctrl + alt + shift as soon as indd is loading, and nothing. I have been getting the same error message.....
Windows has encountered an error and needs to close the application.
It won't even get past the loading screen of indd.
I have read about deleting the saved info for indd and the preferences, but nothing I have read is for windows 8..it's all for windows 7 or vista.
    Any ideas?

Nothing has moved in Win 8.
What's the last message you see in the splash screen? What happened BEFORE ID stopped working? A crash? Something else? Do you have a crash report in Event Viewer?
Did you get a confirmation dialog to replace the prefs when you tried?

  • HP Pavilion Windows 7 hanging on installing updates

Desktop totally hung trying in install update 2 of 6. I let my pc restart for new updates but after downloading updates and system restart my pc is now hung installing updates. I can not get out of this situation. After hard power off and when I press F8 all that comes up is the Startup Menu. I do not see the option to boot in Safe Mode. When I exit the Startup Menu Windows resumes but then seconds later the screen shows installing update 2 of 6 appears again. It seems to be accessing the hard drive as the light continues to flash. After a few minutes the light stops flashing except for occasionally. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Update. Checked my October this morning and it was hanging in Shutdown mode. I waited a couple hours and decided to force a shutdown/power off. It seems to have passed where it had been hanging for 2 days and Windows started successfully. Running a full system virus scan now. So things appear to be improving.

  • HP pavilion , windows 8 , m# 13 a091nr , beatsaudio

Baught used @ Aarons, a few months old, said they reset, no password , doubleclick go for password, they did, it worked, and now after almost 2 weeks, I turned off and not sleep, well, you know, I need a stinking password and they don't have it, even tried all the ones they use when cleaning up a system for resale or lease, no no no , when I turn on, screen goes to the password menu for Aarons, let a couple neighbors look at, no luck, they work with PC and such all day, quess they only punch keys and not think much, ha, so now I ask for help from those I should have notified first, smarter than the avg  bear types, HELP ME PLEASE!!!!.

    Hi @eksdumbass ,
    Thank you for your query.
I understand that you purchased the notebook used from Aarons. They said they reset, no password . They  double clicked and  it worked,  Two weeks later you get the Aarons password screen and are asked for the password.  After them trying all their  passwords they use for resetting the computer nothing has worked.
With Windows 8 you can reset the password from your MIcrosoft account if you have one.
What to do if you forget your Windows password.
If that is not possible, please contact HP support as they may have a way to reset the password for situation like this.
If  you have a recovery partition on the notebook you can do a recovery back to factory.

If you are able to do a recovery during the process there is an option to backup your personal data to prevent loss.

I would like to point you to a Microsoft Support Forum but I believe your issues may be connected to the drivers supplied with your specific Model and since you mention Pavilion, you should post this note to the HP Support forums.

  • How to access and restore the files in recovery D on my HP Pavilion Windows 7??????

Im not very good with the technological side of computers, but it asked me to restore to factory settings after turning my computer on in the morning. I asked it to back up my computer so I can restore it which I believe it did to the Recovery D drive. I can open this file but it comes up with
    Recovery Partition Warning
This area of your hard drive (or partition) contains files used to perform and system recover.
Do no delete or alter any of these files
Any change to this partition could prevent a system recovery in the future.
It also says there is 1.94GB free of 15.7GB which must mean there are files in there but I dont know how to access them.
Please help and please try to speak in term in which I may understand. As I said I dont really understand computer language lol.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you. I think I completely stuffed it up. I didnt put anything into my computer to back it up like an external hard drive because I dont think I actually know what the computer was doing at the time so looks like I may have lost all my previously applications, settings and data. Oh well I'll have to live with that, Thanks for your help much appreciated

  • Resize pictures on pavilion windows 8.1

Can't seem to resize pictures I want to use as Desktop or Lock Screen pics.  They come across as too huge for the display, and are cut off no matter what I change the graphics to.
Any suggestions on how to get NORMAL looking pictures on my laptop?  Why doesn't it just adjust the pic when I choose it for the display?

    Hi,
You can "Fill", "Fit" .... as shown:
    Please
    (a) right click a blank space on desktop,
    (b) Select Personalize,
    (c) Click Desktop background to select image
    (d) Use one of above options
    (e) Click Apply/Ok/Change .

  • My ipod is not recognized by iTunes (but recognized by Windows)

    Hi everyone,
I have bought a new ipod 30G 5th Generation. Initially, I have a 4G ipod and an itunes installed on my computer. I have updraged my itunes to v7 and pluged my new ipod 5G to my compuer. I can see the ipod on My Computer as a removable disk but iTunes don't recognize the ipod and don't have it on the Device list.
Since I'm on iTunes v7, I have run the diagnostic module and in the log file I have this:
    Connected Device Information
MONIPOD (F:\), iPod with video running firmware version 1.2.1
    Serial Number: 8N644RUDV9M
    Bus Speed: 61440
The last connected iPod serial number: 4J527R2GTDS.
It seems that iTunes is recognizing that I had a previous ipod. Does anyone know if Itunes is not recognizing my new ipod because another ipod was already registered on my computer ?
    Thank you.

  • Problems with iTunes and iPod running under Windows Vista

I recently changed my computer. I now have an HP Pavilion running windows Vista (use to have XP). I have a video iPod -30GB. I downloaded iTunes onto the new equipment without incident, but that is the last thing that went smoothly.
I can no longer watch TV shows or movies from iTunes. The video plays like a slide show of stills (the audio is real-time however). Eventually I will get an error message from Windows and it closes the application.
I am also having issues with syncing my iPod and computer. I get a message requiring me to delete all of the content of the iPod and replace it with the contents of iTunes. I haven't done this -no trust and no backup
The delete message is from iTunes. I suspect it is a security feature to prevent downloading to more than one iPod, as iTunes doesn't seem to 'know' my iPod anymore. Syncing has also caused iTunes to close and my computer to reboot. Has anyone else had these problems?

you may want to take a look at the iPod 101 tutorials. Those might help.
