HP Pavillion 500 BIOS Not Working

So, I've been trying to open up the BIOS so I can enable in integrated grapics to set up a third monitor, but I cant find a way to get to the bios. There is no prompt, and I have tried F1, F2, ESC and all the others, but nothing works. It just goes straight from the HP logo to the windows 8 login screen. HELP!

  • Memory timing setting at BIOS not working

    hi,
Before I start, this is my PC:
    Mobo: MSI X58 Pro-E
    BIOS: 8.F
    CPU: Intel Core I7 930 (2,8 GHz)
    RAM: 2 x (OCZ3P1333LV6GK) 12 GB
Vid: Saphire HD5870 Vapor-X OC Edition
    PSU: Ultra LSP750
HDD: WD 1.5 TB 32 MB Buffer 7200 RPM
    Chipset: Intel X58+ICH10R
OS: Windows Ultimate 7 64 bit
My system was running ok with 3 DIMMs at 1066Mhz, but now with 12GB I am getting BSODAND and programs are crashing. I noticed that when I try to manually set the timing at BIOS advanced memory setup and reboot, I press F5 (Memory-Z) and the timings are always the same 7-7-7-16 even if I put any other timing at the BIOS menu. Maybe am I missing some other setup? How can I change that timing?

I already did that but with 1.65V at 1066 and 1333MHz. I changed in BIOS but it seems its not really working to change the timing. I try to change at BIOS to 7-7-7-24 8-8-8-24 9-9-9-30.
CPU-Z doesnt work here but I got PC wizard and these are the infos:
    Memory Information :
    DRAM/FSB Ratio :   8/2
    Supported Channels :   Triple
ECC Diagnostic :   Yes   -   Disabled
CAS Latency (tCL) :   7 clocks
RAS to CAS (tRCD) :   7 clocks
RAS Precharge (tRP) :   7 clocks
Cycle Time (tRAS) :   24 clocks
Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRF...   59 clocks
    Command Rate :   2 T
    And
    Supported Frequencies :   381MHz, 457MHz, 533MHz, 610MHz
    CAS Latency (tCL) :   5 clocks @ 381MHz, 6 clocks @ 457MHz, 7 clocks @ 533MHz, 8 clocks @ 610MHz
    RAS to CAS (tRCD) :   5 clocks @ 381MHz, 6 clocks @ 457MHz, 7 clocks @ 533MHz, 8 clocks @ 610MHz
    RAS Precharge (tRP) :   5 clocks @ 381MHz, 6 clocks @ 457MHz, 7 clocks @ 533MHz, 8 clocks @ 610MHz
    Cycle Time (tRAS) :   12 clocks @ 381MHz, 14 clocks @ 457MHz, 16 clocks @ 533MHz, 19 clocks @ 610MHz
    Min TRC :   19 clocks @ 381MHz, 23 clocks @ 457MHz, 27 clocks @ 533MHz, 31 clocks @ 610MHz
I am running only 3 DIMMs at the moment so I can use the pc without problem.

  • S100 BIOS not working

    hello, everyone
I have a Lenovo S100, there is a problem in the bios because it can not save the new settings. If I want to get into Windows I have to press Fn + F12 and select boot from the hard drive first, then the system is running normally.
How do I fix this? Thank you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes in this case I can:
    1. Reload the default settings of the BIOS by pressing Fn + F9
    2. Modifying the boot sequence
    3. Press Fn + F10 to save and exit (hit Yes to confirm).
However, to set the boot oder can remain stored, whereas for the other settings such as time, date, passwords can be stored correctly.
This indicates whether the BIOS is damaged (needs Flash)?
I've been looking at the Lenovo Web, but for s100 BIOS upgrade is not available.

  • Z77A-G43 Issue - Bios not working

    Dear Forum,
I have a quite strange issue with my brand new system.
    Specs first:
    MSi Z77A-G43 BIOS 2.2/2.3, i5 3570K, Win7 Professional 64 bit
    G.Skill Value Series 8GB DDR3-1333 Kit
be quiet! Straight Power E9 580 Watt CM
    Gigabyte GeForce GTX560 Ti
    OCZ Vertex 120GB SSD
    Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB
    LG GH24NS70
    Problem description:
All parts are brand new. Machine was assembled (antistatic wristband used), Display connected to PCIE-Nvidia gfx card.
Display showed post codes (99, A2) in low resolution and got stuck with a blinking cursor in the top left corner.
After some cable checking I switched to the built-in gfx (from CPU) and the machine booted into bios (v.2.2) after showing the MSI logo.
Whenever I tried to change or even view the bios settings, the machine froze and had to be hard reset.
I installed Win7 without a flaw and updated the bios to 2.3 using Live Update. No errors.
Now whenever I trie to access the bios (hitting DEL) the bios image (blueish) pops up for a short moment and the machine reboots. Nothing else I can do there. It still booted though into windows.
I did the CMOS-reset which showed the initial "settings have been reset, hit F1 for setup or F2 to continue" message but when hitting F1 it again flashed the bios image for a microsecond and rebooted.
Windows still booted normally, when starting Click Bios II application it showed the loading screen but nothing happened. So I decided to reflash 2.3 Bios.
    --> Nothing changed
I then flashed the Bios down to 2.2 using the MSIHQ-Flash utility (awesome tool) which lead to the same effect as before:
I could access the bios but could not change any settings, the machine froze. The click-Bios application started though.
    Now I have two questions:
    1) What's the matter with the board/bios? I can still return the mainboard to the vendor but would rather like to see this issue fixed
    2) Any ideas with the non-running PCIE-graphics card? Could this be related to the mainboard/bios as well? PSU has 580W and all cables were connected properly.
Thanks for any input that might help..

Wouldn't even bother trying anymore with v2.2 since it needs v2.3 to fully support the CPU you have. Recommend to stay with v2.3 since it updates the Management Engine. Going to v2.2 may be causing a chip corruption of some kind.
Not sure what kind or brand of keyboard is involved here, but try with a generic USB one. I had to enable F-Lock on my keyboard to make it go to the UEFI/BIOS using the Delete key. Test with one RAM stick only in the primary dimm slot. Depending on the manual revision, that is either DIMM1 or DIMM2. Update to v2.3, remove the PSU power cord, remove the battery for awhile, clear CMOS and reset, and test again.
I did use another keyboard, I did a CMOS reset, I  have only one module in DIMM2 as stated in the manual. I guess I went through all usual troubleshouting steps. some things in my system don't like each others.
what I did not do so far is comparing the serial of the old and new mainboard. will do that tonight - I srsly hope they didn't send the faulty one again..

  • Flash BIOS not working

Hi all, Ive been having issues for the past few days with my GT70 and a Clevo 770m, which I cannot get to install the drivers without crashing.
Ive been recommended to flash bios to x51. Im using the tool provided in the forums, with these files
    https://mega.co.nz/#!20IQHLCC!uae78FT4EEG2Fl4TzI3m4txIKnlF7iR3ceh4PtC yqqE
The USB boots just fine, but it stays stuck at BIOS flash is in progress... and never goes anywhere. The file has three folders , ACHI - EC - RAID.
None of them have a rom file...
I assume Im not supposed to use the raid folder to build the USB, but the other two I should. What am I doing wrong?
Does anyone have the ROM file for 51x?
    Thanks!

    UPDATE:
I was able to flash BIOS to 51x and EC to T24.
    vBIOS is 80.06.54.00.11
NVidia drivers still crash after installing them. Any ideas?

  • My Logitech Webcam 500 does not work with Flash 10.4

I am running 32-bit Windows Vista (unfortunately!) and recently upgraded as recommended to Flash Player 10.4.1.53.  Now when i go to some websites and want to use my webcam, it just brings up the settings window with a check box for Enable Hardware Acceleration.  But it just stays even when i close the window, just pops right back up and the camera never opens.
The webcam works fine on other sites - ie: Yahoo Messenger.  What gives??

Please check your Flash Player version again: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
As for the Flash Player Settings window, can't you switch to the Camera panel (the left-most tab, beside the Close button)?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Go back to the support page for this device. It will give you all the info needed for updating. It has a link for downloading software to your PC. Once this is done, the software is used to check your gps and see what version of firmware is loaded, and will compare it to the latest version. It will then allow you to download and install the latest on your gps.

Get your Product Number by pressing Fn + Esc key or check the Service Tag attached to bottom, may be under battery.
Go to the link below.Enter your Product Number .After entering PN, click Next ,then choose Software & Drivers. On the next page use the dropdown to select your OS (probably Windows 7 64bit). A list will populate with drivers. Download & Save the latest Audio driver.
Go into Control Panel,Programs & Features- Uninstall IDT software.Restart the laptop. After Windows loads, install IDT audio using the downloaded file.

Trying to restore notebook.  I made the 3 disks when notebook was new 5 yrs. ago. Trying to use for first time. Notebook boots from Disk 1 but after loading iI get message "The recovery disk do not support this computer."  Thought maybe theere was workout as I can open the cd and view folders/files??

  • Pavillion DM1 - 41255A not working after trying to recover to factory settings

After obtaining a virus via a download of the incredibar toolbar, which hasn't been resolved through the use of anti virus, anti malware software, I attempted a recover back to factory settings.
But it ran through the "recovery" unusually quickly and now it displays an error " no bootmgr" file.  The notebook was bought as a present in the UK in March 2012, the product number is A8H99EA#ABU.  Model no DM1-41255A.  It was sold without the recovery disks.  Please advise what I should do next to fix this.
    Kind Regards

I would purchase a recover disk set from HP or an HP Partner.
Is was sold with a recovery partition capable of producing a set of recovery disks. When it was set up, the notebook asked if you were ready to make a set of recovery disks. Unfortunately, it would have been less expensive to pay attention to what it said. A disk set will cost around $20-30.00.

Could you use the attached file and reply the result?
May i know the specification  of the router that you mentioned?

For doing the upgrade on your own, there are few things you should know:
    1. According to the FAQ: http://www.msi.com/faq/nb-1117.html
PX60 has one M.2 slot, so be careful that your original PX60 spec should be only bundle with one HDD.
