i have purchased this notebook in 2006( hp pavillion dv 6000 )and it is not working since last one year i have heard that this series had a defective motherboard which needs to be replaced now what to do now when i contacted hp i was told to purchase a new notebook what to do now part no is 434723-001

A new notebook is worth considering. The laptops now being offered have improved quite a bit in the last 5 years and prices are in decline as people shift to tablets. Yes, that model is a sad chapter in HP history. The smart thing to do (short of buying a new one) is to send it to a repair shop to apply advanced techniques to repair the motherboard to better than new condition. I understand your computer is having an issue with getting hot.
Well thermal paste doesn't really have a life span to be changed, only when you notice and feel it isn't doing what it’s suppose to, of course good air ventilation will extend it. . Also below I provided you a document that exclusively helps with reducing heat in laptops. Take a look when you get a chance.

Dv6t-6000 QE with 6770 will not post. blank screen

My dv6t froze while playing battlefield 3 and when I tried restarting, it would no longer POST (nothing on screen). When I press the power button, the caps lock LED lights up once, pauses, then lights up again before restarting. I checked the hp website at Computer Does Not Start and Emits an LED or Beep Code HP Pavilion dv5000 Notebook PC series - HP Cus... but I am a bit confused as to how many times it actually blinks since my computer doesn't really cycle through the indication multiple times. I tried hard resetting the BIOS by holding the power button for a minute with no AC power and even tried taking out the CMOS battery for about 3 hours to no avail. I have also tried reseating the RAM sticks and using one stick at a time, which didn't work either.

The caps lock key lights up once 2 or 3 seconds after pressing the power button and then pauses for two seconds before lighting up again. After that the computer restarts right away. However, after the restart it does different things each time. Sometimes the light would light up and sometimes it wouldn't. By the way the computer is restarting itself whenever the touchpad light goes out and comes on again.
WIth the problem that the laptop is having, I am guessing its most likely a motherboard issue since the CPU isn't very likely to fail. But because I am 2 weeks out of warranty, I guess I don't really have any options but to fix it myself.

GOOD NEWS, i've seen this alot. A blink code that doesn't really match the pattern is actually a single blink code.
BAD NEWS, despite unlikelyhoood is indeed a CPU failure. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this. it IS a CPU failure.
What you can do.
Since replacing this means replacing the systemboard (yes thats what it means). It's going to be expensive.
Are you POSITIVE your warranty is out? Some of these series have 2 year warranties instead of 1. Make sure you have the purchase date right, as thats how it goes by, purchase date. Even if HP has the wrong date you can despute it if you have the documentation. I suggest this because as I said...this repair's gonna cost you otherwise, so if it's free...try to get it free.
Otherwise you might (this is a big might) be able to find a small 3rd party mom and pop computer shop (Think "Bob's Speedy Computers") with the balls to open your case and might have a replacement processor or can install one if you can find it by itself.
Otherwise just buy a new notebook.

TS3212 Downloading itunes on Lenovo Notebook with Windows 7

I am trying to download itunes on my Lenovo Notebook with Windows 7 via a wifi connection. The box pops up to download itunes setup and I click download. On completion of setup download a prompt pops up to enter my administrator password which I do. Another box pops up that looks like an normal download box that says "Processing Additional Packages." I have been waiting for 30 minutes and it has not made any progress.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Motherboard issue w/K9A Platinum MS-7280

I been having problems with this Motherboard due to installing external USB devices in it and then within seconds/minutes if freezes the machine so i would have to reboot. Anyone else having this issue? I have a updates on the machine and looked into it and it is not a USB driver issue, its more a Motherboard issue, but can not find anywhere to resolve it....Please advise.....
The other issue is and i am not sure if it is a motherboard problem or something deeper but the PC has been freezing on me without warning, wether i am on it and using it or if i have it just idiling...Please advise on this too if you know . THanks

well the reason I wanted to talk to someone live because it would take forever to explain everything on here But anyway, here goes. I have an HP Pavilion Notebook with Intel Core i5-323om CPU @2.60 GHz and 8 gb ram 64bit. I am trying to run Lightroom 5.7 on my laptop and having major issues. I use an external hard drive for the storage of my photos. When I try to use Lightroom I run into many issues: Flickering of the screen, freezing up, slow, the loading circle just goes round and round lol. If I go to the washroom or leave the computer for even a minute it freezes up. I have to keep pressing Ctr/alt/delete to bring it back when it flickers. I have to constantly exit out of the program and restart it to be able to edit even just a couple of photos and then it starts acting up again.
I have tried un-installing and re-installing, updating everything on my pc, changing compatibility settings, updating development settings, I even took the laptop into have it looked at and they did all kinds of updates etc...and still couldn't figure out why it wasn't working for me. I have gone through the lists of troubleshooting for LR problems and there just seem to be nothing that works.....I have made new catalogues, moved them, tried using the software on my pc without the EHD, etc etc.......I have tried EVERYTHING...I think.....so I was looking for some answers as to why this is happening....

Hard Drive or Motherboard issue?

You can see my set up in my signature below - Forgot to mention it's Windows XP SP2. I am having issues with my Hard drives, Everything was working perfectly for about a week, then misteriously my 2nd hard drive (the 300Gb Maxtor drive) disappeared from windows explorer so I rebooted, this resulted in the computer sitting at the boot screen (the MSI full screen graphic) and not doing anything. I tried restarting a couple of times but still nothing so I opened the case, unplugged the sata drives and plugged them back in, this resulted in the computer booting fine. About 30 mins later the Maxtor drive vanished again, so I tried the same procedure but couldn't get the machine to boot. This is where it gets interesting:
there are a few options for how the drives are plugged in:
1) 80Gb Seagate (os on this drive) plugged into top sata port, 300gb Maxtor plugged into bottom port.
2) Seagate plugged into bottom port, Maxtor plugged into top
3)Seagate on its own plugged into either port
4)Maxtor on its own plugged into either port
Results:
1) Machine willl not boot, locks up at msi logo
2) Machine boots into Bios but the seagate drive cannot be seen, the maxtor drive is present however. Takes forever for the Bios screen to show up, the computer seems to operate very slowly.
3) Machine boots fine off the seagate drive in either port on its own, no delays, bios works fine, everything is good.
4) Maxtor drive is only visible when plugged into top sata port.
Also, with no hd's present at all the computer boots fine into Knoppix off a cd. I've still to try booting into knoppix with the hard drives present.
What is also interesting is that if the machine attempts to boot off the Maxtor drive (no OS present) I get the typical Windows NTLDR missing type ctrl+alt+del message which I find odd as there shouldnt be any OS present at all - the drive was formatted when the 80gb drive arrived and is just used as a file storage area.
I am starting to believe that this is a hard drive issue and not a motherboard issue but some input from you all would be much appreciated. I am taking the Maxtor drive to a mates house tonight to back the data up off it, if it works!

Creating Onenote notebooks with SPD Site Workflow

I hope this is the right place for my question. If not (sorry!) feel free to move it to the correct forum.
In our SP 2013 environment we have the situation as described below:
a document library that contains multiple content types (e.g. 'MG Document').
these content types are child types of 'Document' and should use an OneNote Template. I tried to use "Folder" as parent instead because it is used for ON files but it is only usable for simple file folders and not for OneNote files as far as I
can see.
a Sharepoint Designer (Site-)Workflow should initially create multiple ON notebooks with the template the content type is related to.
1-2 are working. We are able to create new notebooks manually with MG Document content type. When executing the SPD Workflow (3) a notebook file is created, too. BUT I can not open this file.
The following messages appear:
"Onenote cannot open the requested package file. The file may be corrupted or may contain no OneNote sections"
"We couldn't open that location. It might not exist or you might not have permission to open it"
Does anyone have an idea how I can set up my custom content types in a way that allows me to create OneNote files with SPD workflows?

I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g4-2020tx Notebook and Bluetooth not working. Here are some links that might help. I would check to make sure Bluetooth is on. It shows you how to do that under Connecting Bluetooth. A device such as computer might need to have the Discovery setting turned on. To turn on Discovery in Windows 8, from the Start screen, type Change Bluetooth to open the Search charm, and then select Change Bluetooth settings from the search results. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Lcd crack causing motherboard issue?

In recent post I stated I cracked my lcd, then my connectors would not connect. Verified my lcd part number and had the ribbon cable replaced...
New Lcd did not work. ..
Now, I'm being told the motherboard may be the issue.
Question 1) Return screen pay shipping and 10% restock and get another screen in case it was defective?
Q 2) Buy something other than Pavillion which I'm told motherboard overheats?
What would you do? I'm a Cyber Security/Forensics student and need this issue fixed asap, just hitting dead-ends and the bottom of my bank acct.

Is the DC socket separate from the motherboard?
If it is, it may be defective.

GX633 - ENE CIR I/O conflict with Motherboard Resource

Hello everyone...I'm a newbie here.
I have MSi GX633 here with latest BIOS and official MSi driver (except VGA and Sound), running Windows 7 Professional x86.
I've own my notebook for 2 year, and just found this yesterday.
Recently found that my ENE CIR Reciever driver had conflict with Motherboard Resource...
Iam opening Device Manager, and then when I check ENE CIR properties, on General tab it say "the device is working properly".
But on the Resource tab it say "Input/Output Range 004C - 004F used by: Motherboard resources".
So I search Motherboard resource device on the System Device. It is hidden by default. Looks on the properties, on resource tab and found conflict message too.
It said :
Input/Output Range 0044 - 005F used by: ENE CIR Receiver
Input/Output Range 0062 - 0063 used by: Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller
Input/Output Range 0065 - 006F used by: Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller
Any one share same problems here with your GX633 or another notebook with ENE CIR built in device???
If one of you had already solve this bug, please share it...

ok, i can explain that. My friend had same notebook like mine. And he had a Microsoft remote control that work with his notebook. But it can't work on my notebook. I don't know about that remote's model/type/series, if that is what u ask. All i know is thats mce remote control.

Ive got worse matter than this.
yesterday i use my notebook to copy some file to external hdd, than scan external hdd with avast antivirus. I take a cup of coffe and smoke while waiting avast finish it job. I forgot to attach ac adapter on it. When i came back, its already off with power led colour red, indicating that my notebook is low on power. So i charge it, then turn it on. I was surprised to know that my lcd not display anything. Blank without backlight. Every thing run like normal, just lcd not light up. And hdd activity indicator is blinking 3x per second...
can u help me Stu??
