Hi,
First, make sure you have installed the Chipset driver on the link below.
Chipset Driver.
If you needed to install the above, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, try installing the ENE CIR Receiver driver on the following link.

    Hello hamdullah,
Here are all your drivers, but you need to do a recovery in order to get everything back as it was when you first got the notebook.
Please let me know if this helps to resolve your issue.
    Good luck!

  • Need to replace my hard drive in my pavillion dv6-1245 notebook hard drive notebook model: specs!!

I purchased an hp pavillion notebook on 29 April 2010.  HP kept telling me product has expired. I have been talking online with your representative since March 2011 but being unable to locate the actual receipt from Royal Computers & Accessories in Jamaica despite identifying the transaction on my bank statement, HP not willing to honour the warranty.  Hence, I am trying to replace the hard drive by purchasing it on amazon.  Can I please get the correct specs on the type of hard drive I should buy.  If I could get a 500g instead I would prefer that size.

    Hi,
See the maintenance and service guide for your laptop: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01758220.pdf
There are listed all compatible hard drive (size and rpm). You can buy a 500GB 5400rpm hard drive as a replacement. I recommend Western Digital hard drives: http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Scorpio-Drive-WD5000BEVT/dp/B001JSSDGU/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8...
I have got this hard drive as a replacement for my old damaged so it should work..

  • Hard disk test failed on HP Pavillion dv6-1100eo notebook

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1100eo Entertainment Notebook PC  (P/N: NR597EA) with Vista 32-bit.  Unfortunately no warranty left in and general I have been very happy with this notebook.
However suddenly Wondows would not start up - and it did not even find Startup Recovery partition on the harddisk. As I wasn't sure if this Startup Recovery was on hard disk or not - I ordered System Recovery DVDs for this Scandinavian language version.
These disks did not work - so I figured I have probably not done my homework before ordering those disks.
Then I ran system Diagnostics (even if I have a old BIOS version F.03).  On the diagnositics - both Quick and Full Hard disk test failed during the first 1% of the scan.
Is there anything that can be done - or is the only option new hard disk? In case - what hard disk is recommended that is not too expensive - as I don't want to invest too much into a soon 3 year old notebook.
I recently bougth an external harddisk (1 TB) based on USB connection. Can that be used bypassing internal HD. In this way I would increase HD capacity and not invest anymore into this notebook - since I already have the recovery DVDs
It is probably only a time question before I will buy a new HP notebook - that is why I don't want any long permanent fix of this problem.
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
Sorry to say, but you won't be able to install or boot Vista from the external HDD, so if you need to get the notebook working, you're going to have to replace the internal drive.
The drive on the link below is an example of one that would be fine for your notebook.
    500Gb Hard Drive
The procedure to replace the Hard Drive starts on Page 57 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.
Once done, simply use your Recovery DVDs to reinstall the Operating System on the new drive.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6b50sa notebook - Fan problems

    Product:     HP Pavilion DV6-6b50sa
    Operating system:    Windows 7 64bit
    BIOS version:   F.19   05-2012
The fan on my laptop failed earlier during the year and was replaced with a new unit. However since then the fan seems not to run fast enough in response to increased loads on the cpu and GPU. For instance previously when starting a video game the fan would instantly kick up to a higher speed and remain there, cooling the laptop sufficiently. Now the fan will often take a lot longer to get up to speed, and with some games simply refuses to go beyond normal idling speeds even as the temperature increases.
Any help with this?  I'm not sure if its a hardware or software issue. When I am back home again I will be replacing the fan with another new one to see. Tried updating the BIOS, have also installed HP coolsense and cleaned out the fan to no avail.
Any help with this would be much appreciated, thanks
    Michal

  • Pavillion dv6 3107et

I have a hp pavillion dv6 3107et notebook for three years and ever since i bought it, i have a heating problem (it burns my hand and melts the base), for the third time i sent it to hp service to fix it, for the third time it came back with a new base and a new fan, it has been one or two months since then and again the base started to melt from heat, against my efforts to clean the fan or not to put the laptop on a surface without using my external fan (which i also believe i shouldn't be have to). I had to extend my guarantee for three more years now, but i don't think my laptop will survive that long. Also i think hp    service is not paying attention to solve the problem but change only the deformed parts and send it back to me. So if you have any solutions i would be more than glad to hear it. How can i fix this?

    Hello again,
I would like to tell you that i am still struggling about the problem i mentioned before, after my first post, hp service in my area reached me to help, but yet again after when i told them about the overheat and send my laptop, they changed the deformed parts( the base and the fan) and they send it back. So, it will be the fifth time now if i call them for this problem and before i do that, i would like to ask you if there is an alternative solution for this. Because this laptop can only be used for six months or a year max, with this condition, from the minute its bought and started to be used. Is that the lifetime hp offers for its laptops? It looks like the hardware of this series has a permenant problem, i need a solid solution about it this time, because i am sure that when i will call the service, they will take my laptop and change the melted and deformed parts with new ones to be the same in a matter of time, and the sad part is i am doing nothing wrong, nothing an average customer, an average computer user wouldn' t do. So, i am asking for your attention to the subject if you please.

  • Error: DVD drive won't read or write discs. TS-L633R CD-DVD drive. HP DV6-3120US notebook. Win 7.

    Product Name and Number:
    HP Pavillion dv6-3120us
    OS
    Windows 7, Home Premium. 64-bit.
    Error Message
"Insert a Disc; Please insert a disc into E: drive."
    Background
Pre-installed Windows 7 system on computer recognized CD/DVD ROM drive for about 3 months. Malware corrupted the OS. I re-installed the OS from the recovery drive's partition. CD/DVD ROM drive failed to read or write, and I cannot restore old files or back-up current configuration via CD/DVD ROM drive. All updates for Windows 7 and hardware drivers seem to be installed and up-to-date as of 10/4/2011.
    Troubleshooting Steps
    1. Tried to read audio CD. Same error message.
    2. Tried to read data CD-ROM. Same error message.
    3. Tried to read data DVD-ROM. Same error message.
    4. Writing to DVD ROM failed. Same error message.
    5. Re-loaded OS 2nd time. No change. Same error message.
    6. Checked with HP Support Assistant. DVD drive is recognized, but not media. No change.
    7. Checked Device Manager. DVD drive is recognized as TS-L633R.
    8. Driver is cdrom.sys version 6.1.7600.16385. Clicked Update Driver, no change.
    9. Tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver. No change.
    10. Checked BIOS. AMD Turion II P540 Dual Core processor 2.4Ghz. BIOS appears to be up-to-date, version F.27.
    11. BIOS lists CD/DVD ROM drive as bootable. Re-ordered drive to boot first and used Knoppix Linux boot disc, no change. Windows booted instead.
    12. Reviewed registry for "upper filter" and "lower filter" entries.  Checked registry 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318. No upper filter or lower filter entries present. No change.
    13. Ran "Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter"; it cannot detect the cd/dvd. No change.
The drive has power, spins, is recognized by Windows 7 and the BIOS. However, it will not read or write CD ROM or DVD ROM discs.
I'm out of options.  What else can I do to make the cd/dvd rom drive read and write cds?
    Thanks for your help.  Matt

    Update:
I chatted online with Ben S. at HP tech support via the HP Support Assistant. Helpful guy. Thank you, Ben. He worked through it and his counterpart Alan is sending me a new DVD/CD drive. Ben S checked the following:
    1. Confirmed that I had tried multiple discs to check different formats: DVD-R, CD-RW, audio CD, video DVD, software data CD. None were recognized.
    2. CD/DVD icon appears in My Computer. Confirmed.
    3. Checked Device Manager for yellow exclamation marks. None present.
    4. Opened below Device Manager and checked for yellow exclamation marks. HP CDDVDW TS-L633R ATA device listed correctly. Redundant, but I understand; it's a good check.
    5. Confimed the Model and Serial Number.
    6. Asked whether I had done a System Recovery.  I had. Twice. First time it didn't restore the drive, so I thought I'd try it again. Second time also did not restore the drive.
    7. Ben S. concluded that the drive has a hardware malfunction, and offered drive replacement under warranty since I purchased in April. I should have it by Oct 17, and then I have 15 days to return the broken drive or I'm charged $80.
Alan offered an additional year of warranty service for about $100. Ben's guess on the root cause was a bad lens from stress on the DVD tray. I don't recall any stress events. I've had this laptop since April, 2011, and the drive failed at the end of September.  7 months. This surprised me considering I've got other notebook computers with drives that have lasted years and still haven't failed.
I'll check in when I get the replacement drive.

    Hi:
I would back up my files as soon as possible, if I were you.
Also, if you have not created a set of recovery disks using the HP Recovery Manager, I would do this ASAP.
You may also want to create a system image using the backup tool in windows 7 and create a repair CD.
Then plan on getting a new hard drive in the very near future.  Use the recovery disks or system image to load your OS back on the new hard drive.

Pavillion dv6-3216us win7 64bit clone hard drive worked only with HDClone 4.1 tried many others that seemed to work but not boot.
cloned to WD 750 GB took about 2.5 hours

The originals were over 3 yrs old low end consumer models and 'due' for retirement to less frequent backup duties.
The Black or Blue Caviar 640GB costs slightly more but also 10-15% faster.
I wouldn't worry about temps, but I would monitor them, and if necessary boost the fans 200-300 rpm to help out.
Make sure everything is SL versions now (DW 4.2).
Normally I zero a drive and reformat more than others, and definitely with new OS.

  • Pavillion DV6-7014 corrupting hard drives?

I'm trying to fix a Pavillion DV6-7014 laptop for a friend, and I'm having some issues.
The laptop keeps corrupting files on the hard drive, even after replacing the drive with a new one.
Heat is at times an issue, with the laptop getting so hot that it is painful to touch. cleaning the air vents and adjusting the power/fan settings help some, but don't fully resolve the issue. It has gotten so hot that it's even warped/damaged some of the surfaces it sits on when overheating (is this laptop a safety issue?)
The laptop is only 1 year and 8 months old. I don't know if the heat is causing the hard drives to fail, or if the heat has damaged the motherboard/sata controller, or if there is a power issue, etc.
What are my options for repairing this computer? It seems like the whole board might need to be replaced. Is there really only a 1 year warranty on this $1200 computer?

Yes it is a safety issue...certainly no longer a "laptop". I would say at this point the next course of action is to open it up and reseat the cooling fan/heatsink with new thermal compound. Post back if you want specific instructions. Does the fan spin and seem to work?
