HP Pavillion dv6-7078ca Windows 7 (64-bit) notebook - Recovery

Hi,
I wanted to go back to the factory installed Windows 7 using HP recovery manager. It started a format of the disk and got hung in between. Now the notebook does not even boot. I didn't create recovery disks.
How do I restore my noteback? I also checked on HP support site if I could order recovery disk. There were no recovery disks for this particular model and my notebook's serial number.
Appreciate any help.

Here are the specs for you HP Pavilion dv6-7078ca Entertainment Notebook Computer. Here is the HP "Software & Driver Downloads" page for you computer with a link to "Order Recovery Media". Please go to the "Software & Driver Downloads" page and click on the "Order Recovery Media - CD/DVD/USB" link then click on "DVD - Windows 7 64b (Dual Language) Recovery Kit" to order your recovery disc set from HP.

  • Hot Keys Driver for Windows 7 64 BIT - Notebook P205D-S8802

    Hello Guys,
im a happy owner from the toshiba p205D-S8802 Notebook. Yesterday i have switched to Windows 7 64 Bit. All devices working correctly, only the hotkeys have no function.
I have looked on the toshiba website and have searched over different search machines, but i cannot find them.
    Can somebody help me?
    Alex

    Hi
Satellite A205 is definitely an US series the drivers should be downloaded from the Toshiba US driver page:
    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp
Maybe you will not find all Win7 tools for this unit but in such case try the Vistas VAP.
This package contains more single tools which control different notebook functions.

  • HP dv6-6c75sa Windows 7 64-bit RAM upgrade

I am running an HP dv6-6c75sa on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, with an Intel Core i3-2350M processor. My installed software is a combination of 32- and 64- bit compatible.
When I purchased the computer, I installed a RAM upgrade which took the total onboard RAM to 8GB. Due to a system issue which I cannot now recall, a search query informed me that my system would only recognise 6GB of what I had installed.
My computer is now 2 years old, and to extend its lifespan, and help it keep up with a recent software install which it cannot seem to cope with (Native Instruments Traktor 2, and Kontrol S4; I would like to make a new RAM upgrade.
I think that the reason only 6GB of my 8GB installed was recognised, may have had something to do with the 32- vs. the 64-bit system, but I can't be sure.
I know that the maximum RAM for Windows 7 Home Premium is 16GB. What changes could I make now that would allow my system to work at or near 16GB of RAM capacity?
Also, where I have a mishmash of 32- and 64-bit software, on a clean install running 64-bit, I believe that I should be able to get all of my software running again. Are there any traps I should look out for that may hamper this.
Do you think that my processor is the thing that is limiting my RAM capacity?
    I would appreciate your input.

    Hi @hyfpxm ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6-6c75sa  Notebook and concerns with system recovery.
Here is a document on performing a system recovery. Here is a document on troubleshooting issues with performing a system recovery.
Always back up important information before attempting a recovery.
This system supports up to 8 GB DDR3  10600 1333-MHz and I would recommend 2- 4s. Here is a link to the manual page 60 for the memory. If the specs are correct for your memory I would reseat it.
Use the built-in Windows System Information utility to view information on Operating System, CPU type and speed, 32Bit or 64Bit design, and installed RAM memory. The section marked Find specifications using Windows System information.
    Hope this helps.

  • New Pavillion DV6 with Windows 7. Synaptics TouchPad cannot start - error code 10.

I've had the laptop for about three weeks. Installed an HP 3005pr USD 3.0 Port Replicator a few days ago and the Synaptics TouchPad stopped working (perhaps not related?). Keyboard works fine. I've used a Microsoft USB keyboard and mouse for several weeks with no problem. Spent an hour and 20 minutes with HP tech support while the BIOS was refreshed and the TP driver updated (although the download didn't install correctly).
I am now getting a message: "device cannot start (code 10).
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
First, can you provide the specific model of dv6 you have, that can impact what steps are suggested.
Which Touchpad driver did you attempt to install with HP Tech Support?  You mentioned that the driver didn't install correctly, did it generate an error message? If so what was the error?
The first thing I would do in your situation would be to use MS System Restore to go back to a restore point when the Touchpad was working, if such a restore point exists.  Take a look at the document below, and look for the section called "Restoring Windows to a previous point" and follow those steps, choosing a restore point when you are sure that the touchpad was working.

  • HP Pavilion dV6 with Windows 7 64-bit / reimage failure

I ordered the software and driver media to restore the HP Pavilion dV6 laptop I own to it's original manufacturer's state.  Seems like a relatively simple process but near the end of the process I get a recovery failure message! HELP!  The failure logs read as follows.

Can anyone help me understand what this means?  At this point, I have a formatted hard drive with an unsuccessfully installed windows program.

    If you have a "ChkErrBB.CMB : Detect some error during PININST_BBV. error", please try the following;
    1) Try Recovery - "Detect error during PININST_BBV – Fix: Set BIOS to Factory Defaults

  • Pavillion g6-2212sa Windows 8 64 bit No Audio devices are installed

    Hi all,
I followed the steps under the HP support site to use the Windows troubleshooting guide to fix problems with the audio:
    http://i.imgur.com/p7BDHqX.png
I updated the driver to the latest driver, audio plays but there are no devices installed
    http://i.imgur.com/IWNVef0.png
Downgrading the driver to the older version doesn't fix the issue either.
I also used the HP recovery manager to ensure I had the original version installed.
I don't have a previous restore point to go back to.
I had BIOS version F.25, followed advice in this thread installed driver
sp55036.exe, and also flashed my bios back to f.22 (which was when around the time I purchased the laptop)
    Any advice/ help appreciated.

Hi, this is my first time here, so your feed back was great; however, I do not like and am trying to take a different route because refresh means my personal setting and other additional softwares that were installed will not existed.
Also, firewall blocks every software, update, or any devices that are needed to be updated, reinstalled, restored, etc.  I have been going through window/systems 32 or 64 and choose the right updating software.ex in order for my system to work.  Refresh will remove all that I had accumulated for softwares, devices, updates to work through firewall.
Do you have another solutions??  It is urgent because my audio device window 8 notebook pc is lost somewhere, and I am not ablbe to find location of the reinstalling audio device.
Look forward to hearing from you,
    K

  • HP Pavillion HPE-510f, Windows 7, 64 bit with front panel A/V RCA inputs

When i connect devices thru the AV inputs on the front panel, I cannot find an application that recognizes the device. For example, JVC Camcorder so i can playback or just playing music thru these inputs.  Is there  a driver that needs installling?

    Hi Hodgewaco,
As indicated in the title, the front A/V RCA and s-video are input ports.  To use those ports with your videocam you are going to need a capture program.  ROXIO has commercial programs that should work with those input ports but check with ROXIO Sales.  Usually ROXIO has a 30 trial period so if you are not satisfied the your can get a refund.  Be sure to inform ROXIO about the exact model of camera that you are using, the output connection type and the format of the video stream.

  • HP PAVILLION SLIMLINE s5510f, WINDOWS 7 64-BIT

My system came with lightscribe already installed (new).  Everything was fine until computer corrupted.  Reinstalled computer applications from external hardrive backup, but now cd-dvd rom does not recognize that drive is lightscribe enabled.  What is my course of action.

Does the system generate an error message?  What is your indication that the system doesn't recognize the drive as Lightscribe?
The first thing to do, is to install the latest Lightscribe software, there is an update posted to the downloads page for your PC, or you can also get the lightscribe software directly from the Lightscribe site.

  • HP Software for the HP Pavillion dv6-6117dx (Need to recover system without Recovery Manager

So I installed Windows 8 but was forced to delete all partitions, then I installed Linux Mint 14 Nadia, now I'm back to Windows 8 and I want to get Windows 7 Home Premium back or Windows 7 Professional (Microsoft Downgrade Rights)
And I cannot download the software HP provides when you first setup the computer, but now I do not have HP Recovery Manager or Support Assistant so I need that to reinstall all the programs and get back to Windows 7 Home Premium. But I do not want to spend any money on it like spending $15 on 2 stupid recovery discs, what a rip off! Ok can someone help ASAP also Im on Windows 8 Professional
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

If you did not burn your Recovery Disks using HP Recovery Manager before deleting all partitions there is no way to download the files now. Ordering Recovery Disks is best option.
If you can read the 25 character Microsoft Windows 7 license key attached to bottom of laptop , you can download a Windows 7 ISO file to burn to a DVD.It must be the same version that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker. Windows 7 Home Premium
Link to the Windows 7 ISO file downloads:
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-from-digital-river/
Get ImgBurn to burn the iso image to DVD using slow burn speed.
Or use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to convert the ISO file to a Windows installation on DVD or USB flash drive.
    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
Use the 25 character product key on the PC to activate the installation.
Next go to your support and driver page to install the drivers you need.

    Imminent Hard Drive error
I've run the hard drive scan, and got the following failure ID:
    M4JC3U-5K9655-MFH14J-60E303

    Hi:
I would back up my files as soon as possible, if I were you.
Also, if you have not created a set of recovery disks using the HP Recovery Manager, I would do this ASAP.
You may also want to create a system image using the backup tool in windows 7 and create a repair CD.
Then plan on getting a new hard drive in the very near future.  Use the recovery disks or system image to load your OS back on the new hard drive.
