Hp pavillion dv6000

Hi guys , i recently stripped down my pc  and removed the on button and sound and dvd function console from the top of my laptop keyboard . When i went to unplug the on button from the small ribbon the clip came off and it was never to be seen again . Does anybody know a supplier in the uk for new clips .
Thanks Dave

Hello rebel_son1456,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I hope you enjoy your stay!
I understand the computer is experiencing issues charging. I will do my best to assist you! I want you to confirm whether or not the replacement cord works or not. If it does not work, then the computer is experiencing a hardware issue. If the cord works, this just proves the second cord is faulty.
Please let me know the results. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Built in microphone problem with my hp pavillion dv6000

Hi, I was uninstalling a program on my add/remove programs list the other day and being in a hurry I accidentally clicked whatever software necessary for my built in microphone to work. I know it started with a C but I didn't see the whole title before it was uninstalled. I have windows vista and my notebook is a HP pavillion dv6000. Now when i open my sound recorder program it says " An audio recording device cannot be found". I'm almost positive whatever I clicked uninstalled my driver/software/etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hi,
I did a very similar thing and accidently disabled my internal mike. Now when I open my sound recorder, I get an error message saying "Audio recording device not found". Will be grateful if you could inform me of the solution to this problem.
    Thank you.

  • Win 7 X64 preset desktop icons slow to respond on HP Pavillion dv6000

    Hello,
I have an HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop, and recently I have been having issues with my preset Desktop and Start Menu Icons (Computer, Documents, Recycle bin, etc.) taking forever to open upon clicking (if they open at all). I've run CCleaner Pro a few times,  to no avail. However, it does work for about a couple of hours after a computer restart.
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this issue?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Good Morning @mcast1286 ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
It is a terrific place to find answers and suggestions!
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More
I gather that your Desktop and Start Menu items are taking a long time to respond.  You have ran CCleaner Pro but it has not resolved the issue.
Here is a link to Improving System Performance without Adding Memory for HP Notebook PCs (Windows Vista). Although this is for Vista the steps will be the same for Windows 7.
Have you checked for viruses or malware?
    MS Malicious Software Removal Tool
This is not a recommendation but people have has success with running Malwarebytes  malware also.
Have you ran MS Fix It?
You can also try this step  to help with any files that may have become corrupted.
Go to the command prompt and right click and run as administrator
Type sfc /scannow and press enter
This will scan for corrupted files and try to repair or replace them.
It wil take some time so be patient.
If the issue should still be there  I suggest trying a Windows restore back to a known good date or a full recovery back to factory if that did not help.  There are links at the bottom of the HP document I provide to assist you with both of those processes.
    Best of Luck!

  • Pavillion dv6000

I have a pavillion DV6000 that has begun running extremely slow. Scan showed no viruses and I have run Disk Cleanup and maintenance. What else can be done or what is the problem? Would it help if I replaced the harddrive. It has never crashed but again its sloooooww.  If I replaced the drive what would I need? I found that if playing back video or audio to close the application switch to headphones then relaunch the application to hear through the headphone jack. It's the same way back to the normal speakers. I wish that HP or MS would own up to the root cause.

  • HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop computer will not power on

My HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop computer (s/n CNF72132WJ, p/n GH783EA#ABU) will not power on - it gives 1 long beep followed by 3 short beeps and then does nothing. I've been told that the problem is the NVIDIA graphics card but am unable to find this part in the HP Parts Store. Is the NVIDIA graphics card a separate purchasable item for an HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop computer or is it integrated into the system board (p/n 443774-001)?
Where in the UK can I purchase either a replacement NVIDIA graphics card or a replacement system board (p/n 443774-001)?
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me with this problem.

The Nvidia graphics card is soldered on to the motherboard and you need to replace motherboard for the Notebook to work according to your diagnosis.
The Part# - 443774-001 is Out of stock and curent not available in HP Parts store however I just did a search for you on Ebay UK website and was able to find it in search results over here

  • Recovery for HP Pavillion DV6000

    Hi
I am hoping for some assistance with recovering my HP Pavillion DV 6000.
My laptop will not start up - I have tried to start in safe inform without success.
I have the recovery disks but before I use them I wanted to know this will result in me losing all my docs, photos, etc on my hard disk drive or not?Apologies if this is a real basic question - I am just not very computer literate.
Thanks in advance for any assistance in this regards.

    Hi:
We are here to help. No need to apologize.
If you use the recovery disks you will lose all of your data.
There may be a way to get the data off from your hard drive even if you can't boot into windows.
Please watch this You Tube video on how you can do this.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=xWW4DYt-8Mo
You can also start your PC and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, tap the F9 key to launch the one time boot menu. Select your DVD ROMM drive to boot from and hit the enter key rather than going into the BIOS to change anything.
Then you can download the free software below and follow the instructions on how to create a bootable CD.

    Hi
    Which operating system?
    Exact model name, model number?
    Try this --
UNINSTALL Keyboard PS/2 device driver from Device Manager - Control Panel, right click the device.
    Wait for it to uninstall,
    Shut down the notebook
    unplug the AC Adapter
Disconnect all the external peripheral devices
    then remove the battery
Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds
Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter
Tap away at the esc key with USB keyboard as you start the notebook to see if this will launch the Start-up Menu
then select F10 to enter the bios menu
Press F5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes F9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key )
use the arrow keys ( assuming they work in this menu ) to select 'Yes' and hit enter
Press F10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Restart the system, wait for Windows to loaf completely & check the keyboard.

  • Sound suddenly nearly silent on HP Pavillion dv6000

Hi, My dv6000 laptop has suddenly lost any volume on the speakers. This seems to have happened since yesterday when I was using the laptop (extractor fan grill clear), the two speakers at the front suddenly became extremely hot. I wasnt using any sound at the time, but noticed how hot the two front parts had become, since then, no audible sounds.
When I play music at the highest volume you can hear a faint hint of the tune, but only vaguely. With some headphones its fine. I have tried changing all different settings, restarting laptop etc, but no luck. For anybody who has ever got their headphones wet, its a similar sound, quiet and muffled, although the laptop has had no opportunity to come into contact with water. Anybody have any solutions? Thanks

    Hello tzimenakis,
Please take a look at this document, which provides troubleshooting steps to help resolve your sound issue.  Please let me know if this helps.
    Good luck!
