HP Pavillion g6 2330 se lagging

Hello,
I own a HP Pavilion g6 2330 se. It has 8GB of RAM, 2GB radeon graphics card, and Intel i7 3rd gen processor. It is a relatively new model and I have purchased it a year back. The problem I am facing is when I play any game. These games do not demand high graphics performances and used to run perfectly on the same laptop. Since a month back, whenever I try to play these games, they work for the first 5 mins and then start lagging. The laptop fan makes alot of sound and it heats up alot very quickly. All my graphics drivers are upto date. What do you think the problem could be and how would I fix it?

Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums. What is happening is over time your system has probably built up dirt inside causing it to be a problem to remove heat from the chips.
First thing you will want to do is get your system cleaned out of any dirt and dust so the system can remove heat.
If you have come to the point where the heat has built up to the point where you system is now having a physical issue due to heat you will have to contact phone support for repair options.
Before that back up all of your data and try to give the system a proper cleanup by doing a system recovery to put things back to original configuration.
This will get rid of any registry problems and build up of garbage files you have on the system from the past year.
Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8)
Things you want to try as well is make sure you are keeping the notebook on a flat surface or use a cooling pad to help keep the notebook cool.

My problem is that any windows I try to install is lagging all the time, and I can not recover my factory defaults because recovery partition is dead and there is no way to recover the recovery partition. I have tryed everything, changed windows with different types of SPs and gazillion types of different settings. checked for bad sectors, maintenance of the whole thing was done hundred times,shortly speaking I have ran out of way to fix it... now please tell me what can I do. btw I think that BIOS might be the problem. because I have checked all the hardware with different types of both dos based apps and regular ones that are used within windows, and everything seems to work right. So what can I do? Maybe I can find a magical CD that will restore all the factory defaults on my model which is Pavilion dv6-6c14tx. or maybe you know how to restore bios to factory settings, because I have heard that HPs recovery partition contatins smth for BIOS as well. Anyways, if you need some more info I will gladly provide that.
P.S. original OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64

I understand that your system is lagging significantly, that you cannot make a recovery from the RECOVERY Partition, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
Since you suspect your BIOS may be causing your system to slow, I recommend following the steps in this document on Restoring the BIOS. This should return the firmware on your computer back to factory settings.
Additionally, I also suggest following this resource on Obtaining HP Recovery Discs or an HP USB Recovery Drive to create a new RECOVERY partition and re-install the OS that came with your computer.

Waranty start date not correct

I bought a Pavillion P6-2330 "off the shelf" from the HP online store in early February, 2013. A few days after setting it up, a pop-up appeared offering to sell me an extension to my warranty. The start date shown in the pop-up for my warranty was November 7, 2012 - over three months before I received my computer. I called HP, and found out that my computer was MANUFACTURED on November 7, 2012. My warranty SHOULD HAVE started on the day in February when I recieved it. After I faxed my receipt to HP, they adjusted my warranty to the correct date in February of 2013. How many out there don't know about this, and have shortened warranties?

Usually warranties start at the time of purchase. I wonder if someone else had previously purchased the PC and then had returned it for some reason.
Years back, I ran into warranty issues when the manufacturer had started that warranty on the ship date. I finally got the manufacturer to change that to date received (delivered). The cost of a warranty day on very expensive equipment does add up. Additionally, the time to return the device for a refund is also shorten if the ship date is used.

Hp pavillion 11 n046tu bluetooth

Hi all,
I need help regarding my new HP pavillion 11 n046tu 360
Trying to connect it with brand new Creative JAM bluetooth headset. And it can connect, but the connection is very poor. The sound quality is breaking up and lagging. I tried connecting the headset with other laptop and no problem found.
Before this, I always use to connect the headset with my android device, and it was no problem. The sound is great.
Can someone help me with this problem? Can I change/update my bluetooth driver? Have been trying to update the windows update, but no progress what so ever.

I understand that you are having some sound quality issues with your Bluetooth headset, and that is works fine with other devices. I am happy to help with this.
I would probably start with some system optimization as part of the problem could just be to do with some process lagging the system. With that in mind I would start with:
HP PCs - Windows 8 stops responding or becomes very slow after connecting to the Internet
HP PCs - Understanding and troubleshooting Bluetooth wireless technology (Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, ...
If you need to update the driver, it should be one of the following, depending on which adapter is in your notebook. The link will start the download to your current downloads folder, then just run the file to install it.

Pavillion dv2910us does not recognize new HDD

Hi,
I have a HP Pavillion dv2910us with a nearly broken HDD (it makes weird sounds and lags quite often). Therefore I bought a new HDD on ebay. I bought the same Type (Toshiba MK2552GSX) with the same capacity (250 GB). But when I install it and try to install Windows on it, the Installation wizards tells me that it doesn't recognize any HDD in the system. When I connect the HDD via an USB cable to a different computer it works perfectly.
I even mirrored the old HDD to the new one but it is still not working.
Does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong? Somehow there is not possibility in the BIOS to activate the new HDD. Do I need to buy an orignial replacement HDD from HP?

Hi,
You don't need to buy a HDD from HP, the one you've bought should work perfectly.
Did your old HDD have a plastic adapter on the end to enable the drive to plug in vertically rather than horizontally? If it did, ensure this is securely fitted to the new drive.
Does the metal caddy from your old drive fit the new drive ok?
Does your old hard drive get detected if you install it in the notebook?

I am trying to install, but the install wizard insists on installing on a nonexistant D:/ drive, and when i try to change it, it gives me error 2330. any ideas?

I am trying to run iTunes on a PC with Windows 8.1, but the setup wizard tells me there is no space on the D:/ drive, which makes sense, since my D:/ drive is a CD-ROM. When it gives me the option to save on a different drive, I click it, and it tells me "Error 2330" and shuts down. Error 2330 simply implies that the drive is incompatible, which makes sense but isn't helpful. I even tried disconnecting the CD-ROM but that didn't change anything.
It is very odd that I have had iTunes on this computer for over seven months, and this problem didn't begin until after I attempted to install the latest update. It failed to install the update, and from then on I couldn't open iTunes at all. Has anyone else seen this issue or know what I can do?

Even though you're getting a slightly different error message, try the following user tip:
"Invalid drive X:\" install errors

Officejet No Longer Recognized by Pavillion Desktop

My HP Pavillion Desktop (product a5t49aar) no longer recognizes my HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-all-in-one N911a printer (product cm749a). Have already shut both down and restarted. Have already checked my wireless connection. Printer believes it is connected. Desktop resolutely begs to differ.
Copy function is fine. Can't print anything from the desktop and can't scan anything to the desktop. My drivers are up to date according to diagnostics.
Tried searching help and using HP Support Assistant, but no luck other than found info saying to do all of the above.

I understand that you're experiencing an issue when trying to wirelessly print and scan from your Windows 7 computer to your HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this issue. To start I am going to have you verify if your computer is actually 'seeing' your wireless Officejet still. From there, we will resolve either the networking issue on the printer or connectivity issue on your computer. Please follow the steps below.
Step 1: Check Connectivity:
On the front panel of your HP Officejet select the Setup (wrench) button
Touch Network Menu
Touch View Network Summary
Select View Wireless
Take note of the IP Address and Network Name SSID that displays
On your Windows computer open up the internet browser
In the address bar type in the printers IP Address. Do not include www.
Search to that website.
If a website for your printer opens: This proves with 100% certainty that your printer and computer are still communicating wirelessly. There is a chance that a change of IP Address on the printer has caused a wireless communication issue with your computer. To resolve any such conflicts can I please have you click here to download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool. This Tool will run on your computer and 'fix printing' issues for you. Should any driver, software, or connection conflicts be found than the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool will attempt to resolve those conflicts for you.
If a website for your printer fails to open: This shows that your printer and computer are not 'talking' over your network. Please ensure that your Windows 7 computer is still connected to the same Network Name SSID that your printer is connected to. Avoid connecting to 'guest' networks. If your computer is on the correct network, yet the issue persists, please proceed with the steps below.
Step 2: Powercycle Network:
First, unplug the power cable to your Router
Once your Router is unplugged, turn off your printer
Next, shut down your computer
After 30 seconds to 1 minute, plug your Router back in
Next, turn on your printer
Turn on the computer
After a few minutes check on your computer to ensure that you are able to browse to websites again. Once your internet is responding, can you please gather the IP Address off your printer again. Once you have the IP Address try to access the printers website on your Windows 7 computer through the internet browser.
If the website opens successfully: Please try printing. if printing fails, run the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool that I provided the link for above to correct the IP Address change. Just choose 'fix printing' and the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool should do all the work for you.
If the website still fails to load: Your printer is still not 'talking' to your wireless computer. Please proceed to reconfigure your printer on the network.
Step 3: Restore and Reconfigure Wireless:
Select the Setup button on the front of your printer
Select the Network menu
Select Restore Network Defaults.
Once the Restore is complete select Wireless Setup Wizard under the Network menu
Select your Network Name SSID
Enter your wireless password (key). This is case sensitive
Once the wireless configuration is successful please test wireless printing again.

Error 2330, Windows Vista - Can't uninstall or Reinstall ITunes

Itunes was working fine for quite awhile, but now when I access the store to download another song the store shows up but almost immediately blanks out to a white screen with only header info on it, no details.
When Itunes starts up, I get a message saying that there is a problem with the installation and CD downloads will not work.
I have tried reinstalling Itunes and Quicktime from the apple website. Also, uninstalling both from the Windows control settings. QT gets uninstalled and reinstalled fine. I get error 2330 with no other information when trying to reinstall or uninstall Itunes.
Have tried clearing out the TEMP folder and also doing selective startup as directed on the apple help tips. Still no luck.
Does anyone have suggestions how to resolve the 2330 error and why I am getting it?

I had this same issue with the iTunes store loading then going to a blank white screen straight after. I then checked for updates, installed everything it told me to (Safari, Quicktime, iTunes). However after everything installed it cut my internet connection. I was able to browse the internet for about a minute before I completely lost my internet connection.
I called my router manufacturer, they could not resolve my issue as the other PC's could access the internet so I knew it was iTunes/Safari/Quicktime. I did a system restore (I am using Windows Vista), that did not work. I searched on the other PC for help and found somewhere to uninstall network adaptors under the device manager. That just took away all my applications that pointed towards the internet so I did another system restore to bring them back, but this however fixed my issue. I did have to re-access my router from my computer by prompting it to reconnect to my ISP and then I got my internet back.
But, I can't access my iTunes or listen to my music.

Adobe photoshop lagging in my new retina macbook pro, what to do ?

i just bought a new mbp retina 15', adobe photoshop cs6 lags when scrolling or moving the image, also lags when zooming in or out. sometimes the brush responds after a second or two. very disappointed . I have updated photoshop to the latest version.

There is a lag in typing in the addressbar since FF4

I'm using a plugin on my Mac called "Keyboard Maestro".
How I use it:
I have 2 Firefox windows open in one screen, side by side. I select an email address in window 1. I press the keyboard shortcut that activates keyboard Maestro.
Maestro then copies the e-mail address, hits Command+` to switch to window 2 of Firefox. It then hits Command+T for a new tab, and types in a URL. Behind the URL it then hits Command+V to paste the e-mail address, and then hits enter.
This allows me to select an e-mail address in window 1, do the keystroke, and immediately find this e-mail address on an admin page I use for work. (instead of copy, open website, paste, hit search).
Now the bit where it's typing the address URL (needs to be a new tab) is lagging a lot since Firefox 4! In Firefox 3, the typing was blitzing fast.
I tried the same keystroke in 2 windows of Safari: blitzing fast like Firefox 3.
I then tried opening Firefox 4 again: slow again. I then experimented by typing really fast (just gibberish, but as fast as my fingers could move), and I noticed: Firefox4 address bar can not keep up with my typing speed. So there's the error.
Typing the same speed in Safari and Firefox3? No problem, it keeps up.
I have 2 add ons running, Xmarks 3.9.7 and Gmail Favicon Notifier 3.10.2
I don't think it's my Mac, as the typing speed does not lag in Safari or Firefox 3.

I had also a lag while typing in the addressbar (or the searchbar btw) in Firefox and spent quite some time trying to figure out why.
I tried Firefox 5 beta, deleting the chronik, the cash etc...
until I tried to deactivate my addons one by one.
I have figured out that the addon "speed dial" was responsible for that lag.
Since I have deactivated it, everything works pretty much instantly.

Text Input Field Jumps around or lags when inputting text but only with Firefox.

I normally will use Safari because even now while Firefox, there is a lag between what is typed and what appears on the screen. When I pull down a menu or try to add a bookmark, I have to click on the field at a certain time because the text field is moving side to side. I am unable to capture this effect and copy and paste below. Safari browser does not do this. Some of the sites require that I have Firefox or a more recent browser. I cannot run Google Chrome on my Mac because it is not Intel based. Thank you for your assistance.

Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak and any existing files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js .

I am unable to find the usb 3.0 ports on my pavillion dv6-6155tx

i bought a nev hp pavillion dv6-6155tx laptop with windows 7 64bit home basic i tried to connect my Western Digital Harddisk to all the 4 available ports and still managed to get only the same rate of data copy. is there any problem with my usb 3.0 and how do i confirm that i actually have usb 3.0.

The difference between how PV is calculated if lag or delay is used in scheduling

When scheduling tasks, it is possible to add lag from the predecessor (which is useful for an amount of time which must pass before the next task (paint drying, for example), or to add delay (task form\schedule\delay). Delay seems to be useful for
adding slack into your project in planning, as it is time that could pass before the next task, but doesn't necessarily have to.
First - do I have this assessment correct?
Second - does MSP calculate PV based upon when tasks appear in the schedule regardless of whether they are there due to lag or delay, or do tasks presented with delay assume that they will start straight away, without the delay?
An aside - the reason that I've been playing with this is because of a bug in the previous version of MSP where an EV graph could not be generated if EV was calculated using physical % complete. Has this been fixed in MSP 2013?

First, the lag (and not delay) in the task form is to be entered in the Predecessors/successors form and not the schedule form. The delay in the schedule form is the delay on an assignment, meaning the delay a resource has on a assignment. And indeed it
is not required but just an option given to the scheduler.
The PV (or
BCWS) is calculated based on this formula:
timephased baseline costs of the task up to the status date. The lag just implies that the task will occur later in the project, thus the PV will take into account the lag.
AS per the bug, I couldn't experience it, thus I'll let you or others folks give a feedback on it.
