I have a B590 and have connected Dell desktop speakers w/subwoofer from my Dell Dimension PC to it. It works pretty well except I'll get a quick buzzing sound every now and then. Any suggestions?

I should add...the buzzing occurs when playing music on YouTube....

jpmarkques post is a good start point, after folling his directions, you can try detect displays. Also try different rsolution and refresh rates.
Most of the projectors I have used support a 1024X768 res.
Youcan also try a pram reset if it still does not detect.
Leave theproctor connected and powered up, power down the MBP.
Power back up the MBP and hold the following keys before you hear the start up chime:
Option, command, P,R (no commas) continue to hold these keys till you hear the start up chime 2 times.

  • How to connect external speakers to Satellite A100-451

    Hello,
I have a Satellite A100-451 (UK) running Vista. I want to connect external speakers. There is a 'headphones' jack on the front (3.5mm jack I think), can I connect external speakers here? The speakers are 'PC Line' with their own power supply and also have a 3.5mm jack plug).
    Thanks
    KK

You need the audio Line-out put and the headphone jack provides this output.
In other words you can use this jack to connect the external speakers

  • Sound - My built speakers do not show in the output section in sound system preferences area only digital out hence unless I connect external speakers I have no sound - can anyone assist?

on my IMac the internal speakers have ceased working - in the sound preferences area only digital out sound is there no internal speakers to choose so unless I connect external speakers I have no sound

    Hey Jack (woofman jack)
Sounds like the micro switch inside the output jack that switches the audio from internal to external is stuck on external. Try plugging a set of buds, headphones or digital Toslink adapter in and out a few times to see if it will unstick the micro switch. You also might try jiggling a tooth pick around inside the audio output jack to see if that unsticks it? If not then you'll need to make an appointment at your Local Apple Store or Apple Service Provider and have the jack serviced.

  • Connecting Yamaha Speakers/Monitors

I have a Firewire 410 soundcard and the new IMAC. Does anyone know how to connect the speakers to the soundcard. What ports am I suppose to use? Also how can I have the speakers connected to the Firewire 410 and still have the Mac use those speakers for everything, such as Itunes and YouTube? Thanks a ton guys and girls!!

    yoyo,
glad it worked out. i also have a $50.00 2.1 computer speaker system on my tower's line-out jack for when i'm web surfing & the site/page has video/audio and/or for the HD monitor/2nd display. i can turn it on w/ 1 button. so i have 2 sets of speakers on my DP G5 tower. the speakers on my MOTU 828 FW interface are Alesis M1 mkii & i have to turn ea. one on as well as the power strip that drives them, plus the 828, so they pretty much come on when i need them for serious work-FCP, DP4 & sometimes iTunes radio when i'm cleaning the house 'cause they can play louder than the 2.1 system(quicker tthan hoking up my MacBook to the home theatre system).
p.s. if this solved your issue, please mark it as such, so that others who may have same issue will know. thanks.

  • Connecting external speakers

i just got my macbook pro and a led cinema display. i have connected my Harman Kardon SoundSticks to the mbp with a rca jack and cannot see those speakers in the system preferences sound section. the internal speakers and the cinema display speakers show up. any suggestions?
    thanks.

When you connect external speakers to your MacBook Pro, under Sound, they will still come up under Internal Speakers, but with the name 'Headphones' instead. Hope that clears any confusion up!
Also, to switch between the display speakers and the Harmon/Kardon externals, just click the name (either Display Audio or Headphones)
    Cheers

  • Trouble connecting external speakers

I'm connecting external speakers using RCA cables from the speakers to the headphone jack on my iMac. When I do so, under Preferences--->Sound--->Output, the "Internal Speakers" changes to "Digital Out" as I believe it should. However, I am getting no sound from the speakers (which work fine with other devices). The "Mute" button is not checked and I can't figure out what the problem is.
I'm running 10.6.5 and the speakers are M-Audio Studiophile AV40.
    Any thoughts?

The jack on the iMac is 1/8" mini stereo, I assume your "RCA cable" has that kind of plug on the end you plugged into your Mac's headphone out?
    Your AV40's are analog speakers, not digital. In +Preferences > Sound > Output+ it should say +Headphones > Built-In Output.+
Sorry to ask a couple of simple questions, but
1- did you plug into the headphone output or the line-in jack on your iMac?
2- when you remove the plug, do the iMac internal speakers work?

  • Connect dell s2240t to mac mini

can i connect dell s2240t to mac mini and there are any drivers?

    The specs:
    http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&sku=320-97 38
only lists Windows 8 as being compatible. Unless you can find drivers that support OSX, the touch feature will not work.
    Have you tried:

    Hi Tom,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
I experience no problems accessing my external speakers via iTunes/Airport Express. With that said:
    - have you tried resetting your Airport Express unit using the AirPort Admin Utility application in your Utility folder?
    - did you "repair permissions" via disk utility in your Utility folder after the 7.0.1 update.
    - confirming you updated Quicktime to 7.1.3.
    - confirming too there was no installation problem with iTunes 7, QT, or 7.0.1
One other possibility is to move to the desktop your iTunes preference file (com.apple.itunes.plist) and restart iTunes.

  • Connecting airport speakers stop itunes

My home network consists of a Time Capsule and severeal airport express stations.
The Itunes library files are local on the Mac's. But the media files are located on an extrenal HD connected to the Time Capsule.
Every now and then (more and more often) the following happens:
Playing a music file using one of the the airport express stations for the output to stereo (multiple speakers in iTunes) the playback of a song will stop when it ends. iTunes will only resume to the next song after I remove the airport speakers from the multiple speaker list, and if I then re-check it again, all will work fine, UNTIL the end of the song. Then again, I have to remove the check, press play and place the ckeck again.
    Strange??
Anybody have any idea what might be the problem? This happens on al Macs, not just one.
    Jan

    Any help?
Perhaps I was not clear in describing the problem.
I play itunes, output airplay in itunes to the airport express that is connected to the stereo. Whenever a song is at it's end.. playback will stall.
Deselectring and again selecting the airportspeakers in the itunes airplay will make it all going again. Until the song ends.
    Very strange.

  • CONNECTION OF SPEAKERS TO PAVILION 500 SERIES DESKTOP

Just bought first desktop PC a Pavilion 500-312ns desktop that came with a Pavilion 22xi  monitor and all seemed fine until i realised that  the monitor has no speakers or  any options to do so .So my question is  how can i connect speakers to the desktop ?. Can i use cabled speakers  or would  Bluetooth or wireless be the better option ?.
Now i understand that to some of you this may seem like a stupid question to  ask but i would appreciate any help or advice i receive .

    Hi,
    It does not have Bluetooth.
    (a) You can connect speakers using connectors at the back:
    Рис. 7: Back I/O ports
    1 - USB 2.0: 2
    2 - S/PDIF
    3 - VGA
    4 - DVI-D
    5 - LAN
    6 - USB 2.0: 2
    7 - USB 3.0: 2
    8 - Audio: Center/Subwoofer port (yellow orange)
9 - Audio: Rear Speaker Out port (black)
10 - Audio: Side Speaker Out port (gray)
11 - Audio: Line In port (light blue)
12 - Audio: Line Out port (lime)
13 - Audio: Microphone port (pink)
    (b) Or you can connect using Bluetooth but you need to buy a Bluetooth USB dongle & your speaker MUST support BT:

Updated: By the way, you still need more hardware to connect to speakers on the monitor because your computer does not have HDMI port.

  • How do I connect external speakers to my Mac?

I have tried connecting Logitech speakers to my MacBook Air.  Using the speakers' USB plug  I have connected them to the Mac's USB port but no sound comes out. I believed these were simple plug-and-play products but I am wondering if that only applies to PCs.

use the 1/8 mini jack to feed the speakers.
OR go to system preferences > sounds > output   >   SELECT as needed

  • Connection monitor speakers to an iMac

Hi there. Everytime i try connect my speakers to my iMac it makesa really annoying static noise from the speakers even when audio is playing through them. I never have this problem if i plug them into my macbook pro and also the same problem doesn't occur when I plug headphones into my iMac so I cant figure out where the problem could be coming from. Does anyone know how to solve this? such as getting a soundcard to turn the analogue signal into a digital one.
    Thanks.

Do you possibly have the speaker system plugged into the same electrical outlet as the iMac? Sometimes you must isolate the two from one another on separate electrical circuits to eliminate this issue.

  • Problem connecting Dell Inspiron 6000 to internet via Time Capsule.

    Hi,
Unable to connect Dell Inspiron 6000 to internet via Time Capsule.
I get this "Windows is unable to connect to selected network. Network may no longer be in range". Any clue?
    Thanks.

    What modem do you have?
Is it a router? What mode is the TC being setup in, bridge or router?
Is it cable modem? If so did you power cycle the modem for the required time.. it might be 30min or just 5min or many hours depending on the ISP.
    Tell us more.
For mavericks please ensure your network connections have ipv6 set correctly.. ie link-local.
