Hp Pavillion touch screen laptop Harddisc not installed

Hey there, In the middle of watching netflix the other day, my computer decided to die. It stopped working, froze up and shut down. Upon restart, brings me to what seems like the BIOS screen, advising me to install an OS on my Harddisc but when I do a "quick check" or and "extensive" it says that the harddisc is not installed, which it wasnt doing yesterday... Im wondering if anyone can help, Im no good at this technology stuff, anyone else have this issue? I read up on HP Smart Protect too, could it have something to do with that? I might cry if I need a new hard drive.- Janelle

Also please respond with which Operating System you are running: Which Windows Operating System am I running? I understand from your post on the HP Support Forums, that you are receiving error messages in the BIOS. Is it possible for you to screenshot the exact error for me and attach it to a post? In the meantime I did find some troubleshooting documents for you to try. 1. HP Notebook PCs - Resolve Boot Device Not Found Error Message (Windows 8, 7).2. HP PCs - Hard Disk Error Displays before the Computer Starts.
Please re-post with the detailed results of troubleshooting, the exact error message, your Operating System, specific model, and any new information you received while troubleshooting.

Help to pick-out a new windows 8 touch screen laptop

I Don't need to most expensive or the cheapest. I guess I want the most bang for my buck. I am not up-to-date on my PCs so I need your help. Just reply with your thoughts and ideas. I've always had Hp but it has been 3 years since I have bought a new laptop. I have a few android tablets but no new laptop. The main one I use now is a 64 bit windows 7 with 2.2GHz duel core 17" screen and 4gb ram. It still works just fine but I'm thinking about a faster PC and want the touch screen like my tablets. No resistive touch screens if they even make them anymore.
Looking for the following
windows 8
touch screen
i7 or same in amd
8 gb or more ram
not sure about the rest
Please give me your opinion or advice. if you could buy anything at best buy, which ones and why? PS I game on the PS3 (soon on the PS4) but not on the PC and I don't like lag or buffering in any way.

I would suggest because I am an asus fan myself, I have always used them as my go to manufacturer with my motherboards on any custom built PC i put together. They are a very reputable name, and are very well made. It should meet all your needs, has 750 GBs of hard drive space (gives you enough room for all the HD pictures and videos!) as well as plenty of ram and an i7 Processor. The ONLY thing i see that might be slightly better is a couple of the sony vaios have solid state drives, and that is a nice plus. Faster boot times, faster read/write speeds. But as you said you didn't want something to make you spend more if it was not a big difference and while it would be a difference, I don't see it being THAT big of a difference for yourself. If you can find a local best buy that has that Asus, I would suggest going in to check it out if its on display. Get a feel for it and see if you like the keyboard. That is a big MUST on buying a laptop, making sure you like the keyboard!

Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...

Log in to https://icloud.com/find using your Apple ID. Erase and then disconnect your phone from your account. You can then restore it using iTunes.

My one year old touch screen laptop keyboard is dead - just does not work

I have a Touch smart tx2-1370us notebook. The keypad has stopped compeltly functioning. it started with a couple of letters initially and within ten days the whole key pad is dead. the touch screen is functioning but slow. The system is also getting hung again and again.
Please suggest how to make this work....
By the way, i have tried removing the battery and putting it back.. that does not work.. at least not on my tablet.
The HP Customer centre in india refused to help citing that this model is not available in India....

If it was officially unlocked by the carrier it was originally locked to, then it should have been fine.
If it was hacked in any way to make it function as if it were unlocked, then upon restore the iOS firmware failed to re-install correctly and it is now a brick - so in that case, yup, might as well toss it in the trash.

Touch screen on tablet not working - Vista driver issue (self-inflicted)

I recently tried to update some drivers on my HP tx1220us tablet computer using some 3rd party software. Long story short, I messed up the driver to the tablet touch screen. When I try to Calibrate , it says tablet hardware not found. I know it's not a hardware issue because the pc dual-boots and the other O/S side (Win7) works fine. Which driver is the Vista driver for the digitizer hardware? Thanks for any help.

Reinstalled Windows 7 home from Windows 8 now touch screen keeps droping (not working)

Had to reload windows 7 home on my TM2 2151nr. Touch screen worked but had to install updates to get the wireless to work. After updates installed touch screen and wireless worked. Got up this am and now the touch screen is no longer working. Check and no other update had been installed had the update option turned off after both the wireless and touch had been working.
I have been trying to get the touchscreen to continue to work after having to install updates for the wireless updates. Reloaded windows not 3 times, but each time the touchscreen function stops working.
What next?

Touch Screen Delay and Not Responsive

I have been having a lot of problems with my Iphone 5 freezing up, touch screen not responding or very long delay. Has anyone else had this problem? If there a fix for this? I have tried to restore my phone and that did not work. Any suggestions welcome.

The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup... Restore as New...

If you try all these steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...

Touch screen shuffle button not working

The touch screen button to shuffle (two crossed arrows) doesn't appear to do anything when active. I can shake to shuffle every song, but if I attempt to listen to a specific album and press the shuffle icon from the "now playing" sceen it has no effect and the tracks continue in numerical order. Am I misunderstanding the function of this icon? Should the tracks not play in a random order when this icon is lit up in a blue colour?
