HP Pavillion Touch

Laptop was sent in for repair because screen was black. Paid $272 to repair and returned with line down right side of screen. Line appears to be spreading. Called repeatedly for 2 1/2 weeks awaiting a return call from a supervisor "within 48 hours."  Please contact regarding repairing laptop WITHOUT additional charges as it was returned to me this way or advise on filing official complaint with VP of Customer Service. Laptop is presently in California tech service/repair. Case # 7502113892

Hello Seaskymoon. I can agree that the solution you are asking about is correct. It is further supported in the following HP document (under "Rear panel components"): http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02027229&tmp_task=setupCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc...
The entire document does contain more relevant information, of course. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • Poor quality / background noise on the udio output on HP Pavillion Touch laptop, 15", Windows 8.1

I have a 2 week old HP Pavilion laptop that's great with one major exception...
The audio through headphones is terrible!
There is a lot of interference sound, humming and crackling, like static noise, which is there all the time and fluctuates as the PC is used.  It's pitch changes slightly when I use the touchscreen or press buttons.
The sound issue is there with headphones of all quality and doesn't matter whether the power is in or not!
From what i can see the laptop uses HD Realtek Audio, the driver says 'ip to date'
Please help me, I listen to loads of music and movies via headphone and this is driving me crazy!

    Hi Barnesy,
Welcome to the HP Forums! If I understand correctly, no headphones will play properly and there is no issue when just using the speakers themselves. If the pitch changes as you touch the screen and keyboard is sounds like there is a loose connection there somewhere. Since, this is a new notebook I would suggest that you call HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or visit the link below if you are outside North America.

  • Hp Pavillion touch screen laptop Harddisc not installed

Hey there, In the middle of watching netflix the other day, my computer decided to die.  It stopped working, froze up and shut down.  Upon restart, brings me to what seems like the BIOS screen, advising me to install an OS on my Harddisc but when I do a "quick check" or and "extensive" it says that the harddisc is not installed, which it wasnt doing yesterday... Im wondering if anyone can help, Im no good at this technology stuff, anyone else have this issue?  I read up on HP Smart Protect too, could it have something to do with that? I might cry if I need a new hard drive.- Janelle

Hi there ,  Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great site to get answers and ask questions. I would be happy to assist you. As there are many models of HP Notebooks, I would need the model number. (How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?). Also please respond with which Operating System you are running: Which Windows Operating System am I running? I understand from your post on the HP Support Forums, that you are receiving error messages in the BIOS. Is it possible for you to screenshot the exact error for me and attach it to a post?  In the meantime I did find some troubleshooting documents for you to try.  1. HP Notebook PCs - Resolve Boot Device Not Found Error Message (Windows 8, 7).2. HP PCs - Hard Disk Error Displays before the Computer Starts.
Please re-post with the detailed results of troubleshooting, the exact error message, your Operating System, specific model, and any new information you received while troubleshooting.
    Thanks.

  • My product is unlisted?? Pavillion 15-n265nr

I received an HP Pavillion Touch Smart 15 laptop as a gift.  After fixing the Ralink wifi that didn't work out-of-the-box due to Windows 8 and installing classic shell and my other software, I decided to update all the drivers from HP.  However, HP's website does not recognize my model, product, or serial numbers.
I found a comprehensive list of Pavillion 15 SKUs and the model numbers jump from 263, 264 then to 267.  What gives?  I was able to enter my serial number to check the warranty and that was recognized and returned the correct dates.  Why is my laptop completely unsupported on the HP website?  How am I supposed to get drivers?
Thanks for any help, I've never seen this issue before!
    Dylan

    Hi, Dylan:
This is a consumer to consumer forum.  No one representing HP will respond to any posts here.
This is the only n265 model support page.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=6796216&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&query=15-n265&tool=
Look at the product specs.  If it has the same hardware as yours, then you can use the drivers from this model.
I will report your model is missing and ask HP to provide a support and driver page for it.

I found the driver at the above link.  I installed the driver, disabled my graphics card and rebooted.  The touchscreen worked.  Then I enabled the graphics card.  So far so good.  Hope I dont have to do this routine too often.
    Good luck with it.

    Hi,
ASUS does not make "Pavillion 23tm ", only HP. Anyway, hope no damage after a repair. Please try:

Otherwise, ask the repairer to fix it for you.

  • Replacement non touch screen for Pavillion TS 15-B103AU

He, we  have a HP Pavillion TS 15-B103AU with a cracked screen. IS there a DIY replacement screen I can get to replace it? I"m an IT professional myself so am confident doing the work, also I'd prefer a non touchscreen as we never really used the functionality anyway and I know a non touch screen would be a lot cheaper

How can i find serial number and UPC of my laptop pavillion dv6 touch screen if i do not have the sticker at the back or below the battery .. thanks

    Hello,
The hot key combination you can use at the desktop screen is "FN + ESC". That should bring a system information window on the screen with the computer information including the serial number.

  • Pavillion TouchSmart touch stopped working after HP Photosmart Printer Installed

I bought a new HP Paviliion TouchSmart 23-h056 All-In-One and the touch screen worked just fine.  I then installed a HP Photosmart 7520 All-In-One printer/scanner/copier and the mouse pointer works on the screen, but the touch on the monitor no longer works.  The system came pre-installed with Windows 8.1.  Please help!!!

    Cselas1962, welcome to the forum.
Here is the Win 8.1 driver for the printer.  I suggest checking to see if the driver that is installed is the same or newer.  If the one in the link is newer, you should install it to see if that helps.  It could be that there is a driver conflict with the driver for the Touch screen.

  • How can I disable touch screen for HP Pavillion DV3-2310ea

    Howdy
The touchscreen on this laptop can be annoying - even though I've reduced the sensitivity, living in a cat rescue home is challenging to say the least when a strand of cat fur gets on the screen or when a tail brushes the screen, not to mention a cat sneeze -_-
I've been looking around for solutions and I found one stating unchecking the box in "Pen and Touch" in the control panel - however on this laptop there's no box to uncheck
I can't find any settings to disable touch screen, so would anyone know if there's a driver I can temporaraily disable (I'd like to KEEP the option to enable the touch screen - just to show off to friends )
Thanks for your time - Gypsy
P.S I'm sorry if this topic has already been discussed I've just joined to ask this question

    Hello,
Would like to leave my contibution on this post:
In order to disable the touchscreen, you have to go to control panel, select Tablet PC settings, then select Pen and touch and do what the print screens below show you:

  • HP TrueVision HD Touch Screen Pavillion, Model 14-b109wm

My laptop is two months old.  I'm not sure but I believe the speakers and headset outlet went "out" about a month ago. The system sounds work just fine.  YouTube or videos on facebook play without any sound.  I checked all avenues possible and the speakers are reported to be working.  No necessary updates were indicated.
I researched everywhere & found a site which recommended deleting c:\(x86)moboengine which I did this evening.  I then rebooted the computer, opened a video & got audio which had no audio previously.   The next video played with no audio.
This has happened a couple times, even before deleting the above progtram.  It seems the audio works ONCE after rebooting.  Is that possible?
Please, someone help me; I have struggled with this issue far too long.  Thank you for any assistance.
