HP pavillion touchscreen laptop

For the last few days I have been having issues with the touch screen on my HP pavillion laptop. Why is my screen flashing white bubbles, white streaks and moving icons all around, shrinking/expanding my icons and jumping from one screen to another? It makes my laptop inoperable having to cold-boot it and restart.

Hi there , I am jumping in to this thread as , is unavailable for the next while.  Just to clarify what I have read, do you need to restart your system because the touchpad, mouse or touchscreen no loger respond at all? Was there any recent change to you system ,such as new software installed, system updates or new drivers? Since it just changed so recently, a quick fix to try is a System restore to a point before this all started. If it was a few days try a restore point that is as close to the present date, but still before the time the trouble started, whatever you have available. Then test and see whether it is recurring. Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
Let me know if that works for you and if not, please post any other details you can about what is happening. Any error messages, other performance issues, that sort of thing.

  • Can I attach multiple external monitors to my Pavillion dv7 laptop?

I have one monitor connected through the HDMI interface and I would like to have another one attached as well. Can I use the VGA port (or the other flat one -- I do not kjnow what it is called) and have the monitors work in concert?
    Thanks!

    Hi, Jerry:
Theoretically you should be able to connect as many monitors as you have video out ports.
Since I don't have your model, I can only speculate.
I know that this is true of desktop PC's (where the onboard video is not disabled by an add on card).
I believe the other HDMI-looking port is a display port.

  • HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop computer will not power on

My HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop computer (s/n CNF72132WJ, p/n GH783EA#ABU) will not power on - it gives 1 long beep followed by 3 short beeps and then does nothing. I've been told that the problem is the NVIDIA graphics card but am unable to find this part in the HP Parts Store. Is the NVIDIA graphics card a separate purchasable item for an HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop computer or is it integrated into the system board (p/n 443774-001)?
Where in the UK can I purchase either a replacement NVIDIA graphics card or a replacement system board (p/n 443774-001)?
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me with this problem.

The Nvidia graphics card is soldered on to the motherboard and you need to replace motherboard for the Notebook to work according to your diagnosis.
The Part# - 443774-001 is Out of stock and curent not available in HP Parts store however I just did a search for you on Ebay UK website and was able to find it in search results over here

  • Poor quality / background noise on the udio output on HP Pavillion Touch laptop, 15", Windows 8.1

I have a 2 week old HP Pavilion laptop that's great with one major exception...
The audio through headphones is terrible!
There is a lot of interference sound, humming and crackling, like static noise, which is there all the time and fluctuates as the PC is used.  It's pitch changes slightly when I use the touchscreen or press buttons.
The sound issue is there with headphones of all quality and doesn't matter whether the power is in or not!
From what i can see the laptop uses HD Realtek Audio, the driver says 'ip to date'
Please help me, I listen to loads of music and movies via headphone and this is driving me crazy!

    Hi Barnesy,
Welcome to the HP Forums! If I understand correctly, no headphones will play properly and there is no issue when just using the speakers themselves. If the pitch changes as you touch the screen and keyboard is sounds like there is a loose connection there somewhere. Since, this is a new notebook I would suggest that you call HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or visit the link below if you are outside North America.

  • Touchpad doesn't work on touchscreen laptop

    Hello everyone!
Installed Arch on my new laptop Samsung NP540U3C (Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook). It has touch screen (yep, not my preference), and there comes my first issue.
Everything went well and everything just works on command line, but... when I start any X program, X doesn't allow me to use touchpad. Touchscreen and external USB mice instead do work perfectly.
Although I like to use touchpad and external mouse, still while the touchscreen is there, I'd wish to be able to use it in addition to touchpad.
I would owe a great deal to anyone who points me to right direction!

  • Restoration disks for Pavillion dv9000nr Laptop

    Hello
Re: Restoration of old HP Pavillion dv9000nr widescreen laptop.
I would like to know if any forum members has a set of recovery disks or thumbdrive that could be loaned, rented,  or sold to me.  I am attempting to get this aging widescreen laptop to work again.  I could also send you 3 new blank disks to copy your recovery disks to send back to me.  Or I could send you a new blank thumbdrive, but I do not know if it will boot from USB port.   I can pay you for this favor.
I bought it just before HP switched to Vista, so it ran XP, when it ran.  However, I don't think that's an issue since the restore media replaces the operating system as well.
I am NOT able to create recovery disks from the HD.  The machine is totally messed up.  HP has no copies of any kind of restore media left.  Running Restore media is my last chance.  Have tried everything else.
If you could possibly help me out. I would be forever grateful.  Please contact me directly if possible.  Or thru the forum.

  • I really need this type of HP touchscreen Laptop! wacom penabled 15"...

    Hi there!
I have been searching for years for a laptop that suits my needs, none really exist yet. If they do exist they use N-trig instead of Wacom, which doesn't work in photoshop.
Here are my specifications to what I would absolutely be thrilled to buy!
*15.5" or so screen, not anything below 15" and not anything much larger.
*Light weight, under 5lbs. Prefer as light as it can be, however if removable from the keyboard this isn't really required.
    *Touch screen (two finger capable)
*Wacom pen with eraser with pressure sensitivity! I prefer the 1,000ish pressure sensitivity level.
*8gb ddr3 ram, upgradeable if desired.
*Removable battery, perfer at least 8 hours battery life on low light. 9 is even better.
    *500 GB HD - 1TB HD.
*Tablet mode : as in the folding display mode.
*Good graphics card for gaming. I'm not too knowledged on them, but would be great if I could do some 3d modeling with maya or 3dsmax with as much ease as possible.
Things I would also love, not required, but preferred
*Removable from the keyboard so its lighter weight to carry around.
*Backlit keyboard, blue or color-changing option. Light up keys are even nicer, not required at all.
*Not a lot of glare! Especially being an artist, I love lenovo's screens and i'm not a fan of matte, I like glossy but not a crazy glare like what i've seen from the glossiest laptops around. This is pretty important to me.
*Track pad on keyboard with buttons that click for the mouse.
    *HD webcam
My favorite design has been silver, especially when it's shiny with a black keyboard. I like Sony Vaio's sleek look and keyboard style.
    Not necessary but unique ideas
*Tent mode (like the yoga tablets)
*The other display modes some laptops have would also be nice for an artist.
*A string which can be tied to a part of the laptop to not lose it.
*A hole for the pen within the laptop for easy storage and access.
*2 or preferably 3 USB ports. More are better of course!
*CD drive but doesn't matter much.
*Volume control on the keyboard would be awesome but doesn't change my mind about purchase.
I GREATLY appreciate the time to read over my suggestions, i've not had any options in terms of my requirements for years and greatly appreciate anyone who reads this. I've been stuck with a very old wacom penabled toshiba laptop for my art (very slow), a windows laptop for travel, a tablet for light weight travel and a desktop for gaming! It's always been a pain when I have always used an entire device only to fit one need at a time when a 15" wacom windows laptop would solve my problems.

I have an HP envy x360 and it has a lot of what you're looking for. I'm not entirely sure as to what pen I would need for this, but it does say it has pen compatibility. I recommend looking at it though! I personally love it even though I've been on a goosehunt trying to figure out what pen I'd need. I'm new to all this digitizer pen stuff without there being a separate tablet.

  • Loss of Sound HP Pavillion Entertainment Laptop DV6820ea

    Hi,
    Operating System:  Windows Vista
Sound Driver :         Conextant High Definition Smart Audio 221 (SPDIF INTERFACE)
    Other Programmes: I Tunes
Problem :     Sudden loss of sound, I have tried the obvious such as is the touch sensitive mute switched off and the volumes switched on . I did briefly have my i-touch connected via USB but don't remember doing anything other than connecting and disconnecting the USB cable. Then there was no sound. I have also tried via control panel testing the devices and the speaker test works correctly but other than this I am unable to get any sound from the laptop. I did find, although I can't remember where, next to a  I-tunes file name  yellow triangles but was unabe to delete. This will probably be a very obvious and simple solution! but I would greatly appreciate any help!    many thanks

This often occurs when you plug in an HDMI device, on my machine.  Try manually setting the playback device:
Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar.
    Select Playback Devices.
Right-click the audio device you want (i.e. Speakers)
    Select Set as default device.
If this does not work, try logging in with an account that has administrative access.  I discovered the wireless network can not be enabled by a non-administrative account, when it is disabled while logged in as an administrator.  You have to go back to the admin account, enable wireless, and then log back to the other account.
Avoid updating your driver, unless the device no longer functions.

    Hi arviclacson,
Sorry to hear about your problem. This seems to be more of a hardware issue than software.
The quickest way is to take your laptop to a nearby HP service center to have it looked at.
You can use the link below to submit a case or find a HP service center nearby.

  • Pavillion G6 Laptop, wont turn on.

My laptop recently slipped out of my bag and onto the floor. It wasnt a hard hit (as it was in a protective case and not from a high distance) but now won't turn on.
When i press the power button, the light comes on along with the orange wireless light and i can hear the motor starting.. and then it turns off. About 15 seconds later it does it again- tries to turn on, the lights come on, the motor starts and then stops again.
I have tried doing the hard reset by unpluging the power adapter, taking out the battery and holding the power button down for up to a minute. It does the same thing when i try to turn it back on. I have tried doing the reset with the battery in (once ive held the power button down and pluged the power back in) and i have also tried without puting the battery back in.
    HELP! Any suggestions?

It is possible that the RAM may have been loosed just enough by the drop (it doesn't take much). Have you tried removing and reseating the RAM?
