Hello Murphiesmam,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you are having graphics card issues on your Pavilion 15 notebook.
It would really help to know which product and operating system you are using.
For information on finding your product and model numbers click here: How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
To see which version of Windows you are using click here: Which Windows operating system am I running?
You can download drivers for your graphics card here: HP - Drivers & Downloads. You will need your product number and operating system. If your download page has more than one available download under the graphics option you will need to detect which card you have in your notebook. To do this:
Open Device Manager.
Expand Display adapters. This should show the graphics card(s)
Expand Other devices. This will show graphics cards without drivers.
I look forward to your reply!
Please click the "Kudos, Thumbs Up" at the bottom of this post if you want to say "Thanks" for helping!

  • No audio on HP Pavillion TS 15 Notebook PC

I have a fairly new (purchased in April) HP Pavillion TS 15 Notebook PC. The audio isn't working, and I'm not sure how long this has been going on or if it ever worked. The speaker bars on the task bar look like sound is coming through, but I can't hear anything through the laptop speakers and only light static when using headphones.
Edited to add: Product # is F5Y67UA#ABA. Operating system is Windows 8.1 64-bit.

I have a HP pavillion dv 1000 notebook and want to recover it to factory default what is the method for this?
which key to be pressed for selection of factory settings?

    Hi,
Your machine should have a Recovery partition unless you've deleted it. Make sure backing up all of your files before restoring the PC/laptop to factory state.
To set your PC/laptop to factory state, restart the PC/laptop. At the HP welcome screen tap the F11 key to launch the recovery process.
Follow the instructions provided on the screen.
    Good luck,

  • Can HP pavillion g7 - 1255ea notebook use windows 8 ?

can HP pavillion g7 - 1255ea notebook use upgrade windows 8 from windows 7 ?

For anyone that may have this same question, the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant can check your system to verify if it is compatible with Windows 8 and give a general idea of what to expect.
If you are curious if there are Windows 8 drivers for your system or if HP has tested the unit with Windows 8, you can go here and click on the blue button at the bottom of the page and enter your product number.

  • Need to replace my hard drive in my pavillion dv6-1245 notebook hard drive notebook model: specs!!

I purchased an hp pavillion notebook on 29 April 2010.  HP kept telling me product has expired. I have been talking online with your representative since March 2011 but being unable to locate the actual receipt from Royal Computers & Accessories in Jamaica despite identifying the transaction on my bank statement, HP not willing to honour the warranty.  Hence, I am trying to replace the hard drive by purchasing it on amazon.  Can I please get the correct specs on the type of hard drive I should buy.  If I could get a 500g instead I would prefer that size.

    Hi,
See the maintenance and service guide for your laptop: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01758220.pdf
There are listed all compatible hard drive (size and rpm). You can buy a 500GB 5400rpm hard drive as a replacement. I recommend Western Digital hard drives: http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Scorpio-Drive-WD5000BEVT/dp/B001JSSDGU/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8...
I have got this hard drive as a replacement for my old damaged so it should work..

  • HP Pavillion 17 e049wm Notebook PC- Cannot Turn on

Product name: Hp Pavillion Notebook PC
    model: 17 e049wm
    Product number: E0J75UA
    Operating System: Windows 8.1
Hello, my Hp laptop is not turning on.
Last night I left it on and off the charger all night, though I believe it eventually went in "sleep mode"
This morning I plugged the charger in and attempted to turn it on, but it didnt power up,I assumed it was because the cord wasnt fully plugged into the outlet on the wall, so i didnt think much of it.
Later this evening I tried again, making sure the cord in the outlet was secure, and nothing happened. I tried all the outlets in my house. I dont have another adaptor, if I had i would have tried that.
I unplugged the power adaptor, took out the battery and then held down the power button for 30 seconds. I plugged the adaptor back in and tried to turn it on, nothing. I put the battery back in and still nothing.
I tried another time, using one of those extended outlets that has a light to let me know that its working. Still nothing, however I started to notice that the LED lights next to the power symbol where you plug the adaptor to the laptop would light up white, and then orange. I kept fiddling with it but the lights would only happen for about a second, and then stop.
I tried taking out the battery again and using only the power adaptor and this time the lights would turn on white for half a second, disspear and then blink again, only for a second or 2, and then nothing.
Im not sure what to do at this point, I dont know if its my battery, or my adaptor/charger chord, or if the little outlet plug in my laptop has a broken piece.
Any assistance on this matter would be appriciated, Im a college student and a freelance digital artist, so I NEED my laptop, ASAP

    Hi @xscemesx
I see you are having trouble with restarting your notebook after the battery ran dry.
I would start out with this page as it walks through several methods to recover. It is possible that just a hard reset could fix it. Computer does not start (Windows 8)
If it looks like a power problem then try out this one.
Battery Does Not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge
Also you can check out this page, if it looks like the battery is the problem.
Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 8)
Let me know if that helps at all.

  • Hp pavillion dv 6000 notebook with motherboard issue antbody knows

i have purchased this notebook in 2006( hp pavillion dv 6000 )and it is not working since last one year i have heard that this series had a defective motherboard which needs to be replaced now what to do now when i contacted hp i was told to purchase a new notebook what to do now part no is 434723-001

A new notebook is worth considering. The laptops now being offered have improved quite a bit in the last 5 years and prices are in decline as people shift to tablets. Yes, that model is a sad chapter in HP history. The smart thing to do (short of buying a new one) is to send it to a repair shop to apply advanced techniques to repair the motherboard to better than new condition. This is one that several trustworthy contributors here have recommended:

  • Hard disk test failed on HP Pavillion dv6-1100eo notebook

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1100eo Entertainment Notebook PC  (P/N: NR597EA) with Vista 32-bit.  Unfortunately no warranty left in and general I have been very happy with this notebook.
However suddenly Wondows would not start up - and it did not even find Startup Recovery partition on the harddisk. As I wasn't sure if this Startup Recovery was on hard disk or not - I ordered System Recovery DVDs for this Scandinavian language version.
These disks did not work - so I figured I have probably not done my homework before ordering those disks.
Then I ran system Diagnostics (even if I have a old BIOS version F.03).  On the diagnositics - both Quick and Full Hard disk test failed during the first 1% of the scan.
Is there anything that can be done - or is the only option new hard disk? In case - what hard disk is recommended that is not too expensive - as I don't want to invest too much into a soon 3 year old notebook.
I recently bougth an external harddisk (1 TB) based on USB connection. Can that be used bypassing internal HD. In this way I would increase HD capacity and not invest anymore into this notebook - since I already have the recovery DVDs
It is probably only a time question before I will buy a new HP notebook - that is why I don't want any long permanent fix of this problem.
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
Sorry to say, but you won't be able to install or boot Vista from the external HDD, so if you need to get the notebook working, you're going to have to replace the internal drive.
The drive on the link below is an example of one that would be fine for your notebook.
    500Gb Hard Drive
The procedure to replace the Hard Drive starts on Page 57 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.
Once done, simply use your Recovery DVDs to reinstall the Operating System on the new drive.

  • I Need USB Controller Drivers For My HP Pavillion g6 2235ca Notebook Running Windows 7 Pro 64bit?

So it has been at least a couple of months that I've been using my laptop with only ONE working USB port.
The other two do NOT work. If I go to Computer on the Start menu, and right-click on Computer, then Manage, then i go to Device Manager, there is a yellow exclamation mark next to Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller.
When I try to update them, Windows 7 tells me that an update could not be found blah blah blah...
This problem happened ever since I installed Windows 7 64bit over Windows 8 64bit.
So, can someone help me find drivers for this USB Controller? Or is this some kind of hardware failure or issue?
    Please help? Anyone...!
