Hp pavillon dv7 6190sl problem

prejudice in August I bought a hp pavilion dv7 6190 sl but only now I realized that there is something wrong, it does not detect the video card driver AMD Mobility Radeon 6770m and then I use only the video card is less powerful for this wonder if I can give a solution to solve

Based on what you said, it seems to me that your laptop drivers have not been install correctly. Follow this link
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&destPage=pfinder&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4079...
Choose your operation system and download any drivers required. But i suggest you to allow HP to scan your system for updating drivers, as HP Laptops have so may variants, so it is difficult to figure out which driver is correct. My personal experiences with HP Support technicians guessing of which driver is required for my system.
I hope this will help.

Take a look in the Service and Maintenence Guide for your notebook series in the Illustrated parts section.
If your notebook has an AMD processor then it is the correct part number.
The part number for the Intel processor equipped notebook is 485605-001.

    - When plugged in, everything is normal and fan is so quit
    - When unplugged, speedfan 4.5 is reporting less than 60 degrees celcius on all cores. HDD temp is also fine. But the battery gets a little bit hot. no battery temp sensor to check it.
    - Vents are clean and thermal paste is properly applied
    - Power mode : Normal

    thank you

    Hello @Sam0789,
Welcome to the hp support forum and thank you for posting.  It sounds like from what your post states,  that the system runs fine with the battery out but as soon as the battery is in the unit it goes unstable and heats up when connected to the charging system.
Here are some things you may try in the following links.
Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 7)
HP Notebook PCs - Checking the Status of the Battery
Now if the battery is getting hot to the touch when plugged in I would not be using it until you can have it tested.
There could be a problem with the charging system in the battery that controls the voltage.
There is normally no reason for the system to heat up while on battery like that.  What I would do is call phone support and have them check it out.  Another option is to try another battery to see if the same problem happens.
If that is the case the notebooks voltage control is out of spec and needs replacing.  If a different battery causes no problem then we know it is the battery.

  • HO DV7 3085dx problem

    HI there,
I have an HP DV7 3085dx that is is just about 3 years old. Up until recently, I have had very few problems with the laptop, at least nothing that I could not fix myself. The problem started a month or so ago with a loose display LCD cable., which I was able to fix twice with no problems.
The third time I went to fix it (it had not been tucked away fully under one of the front panels on the laptop), something went wrong. I took everything apart step by step as I had before, in the same order that I had done before, fixed the cable, and went to put everything back together in the same way that I'd done before with no problems.
When I went to turn on the computer, it would turn on but with a blank screen, no sound and some of the touch sensor lights above the keyboard would not light up, but there was power to the computer. I shut it down, let it discharge and opened it back up, thinking I had maybe not connected the hard drive tight enough.
Checked everything before putting it back together. When I went to turn this time, it would not turn on at all. I used my husband's laptop to troubleshoot, and the HP website sugested a hard reset, which consisted of unplugging it, taking out the battery and holding the start button for 15 seconds. I did this, and nothing happened after I plugged it back in, nor when I replaced the battery. When I plug it in however, the port for the AC plug does light up.
I honestly don't know what else to do. THe warranty is long gone at this point. If anyone out there has any ideas, please let me know.
I tried the hard reset as mentioned above. I don't think it's a motherboard issue as those tend to beep when there is a problem.  My brother's friend mentioned the power supply unit inside the laptop?
    HELP!

I would recommend using this troubleshooting document for your issue: http://goo.gl/LvXDk
There are a few more steps in there other than just a hard reset.
Let me know if any of those steps help to resolve your issue.

  • Dv7 Keyboard problems

    Hello!
I have issues with my DV7 laptop computer ( Windows 8, if it helps )
Neither the numpad nor the function keys are working, every time I hit the num key there is only one beeping noise, but the keys wont work.
I have tried the hp assistant, installing all updates but the keys wont budge.
Before I contact the support I thought there might be a solution somewhere ... I used the search, but couldnt find a proper answer, move the topic, if the category isnt right.
    Thank you!

Thank you for your reply  !
Sorry I forgot to post the story of the problem
The numpads behaviour is odd, because when I use the numlock key, there is a beep and then the numpad works, as if the numlock was switched off. When I press numlock a second time, I can hear a beep with a higher pitch, and the numkeys lose every functionality. Only /*-+ work, when switched off, enter works always. Either way, I cant get the 1234567890 keys to work correctly.
Your proposal did the trick for the media keys  , unfortunately not for the numpad.
And if I remember correctly, the numpad never actually worked. ( germany is the location, I forgot to add that )

  • Dv7 gaming problem

hello, ive got a dv7 4197cl, ive tried a couple of heavy games on it, but both with the same problem,..... game runs normally but the sound stops by secs, ive heard its called latency caused by HDD, ran an app to check the latency of HDD, but its running perfectly :/
oh, btw, while playing, dunno why norton lets me know that only 1 of those 4 cores is running at 100%, and other 3 are like sleeping.... 2 or 3% of using
is that normal?, can i distribute it to make it work with 4 cores?, so it would run balanced

     Hello,
Please update your BIOS,Video graphics and sound drivers.
The best and easiest way to do this is to run teh HP Support assistant and have it "Analyze" your PC. It will then suggest the critical updates for your unit. This should help with the gaming experience.

  • HP Dv7 -- Power problem

Ok, so I've got a weird one.  Here goes...
A few weeks ago, I started noticing that my AC adaptor was making a high-pitched beeping noise, and that while doing so it was not charging the battery.  So, I figured the AC adaptor was going bad.  After about a week, I decided that I would just order a new one, and a new battery as well (since the old battery was OLD and not holding a charge well anymore).
So, on Wednesday of this week I received the battery in the mail, put it in the laptop, and began charging it up with the old AC adaptor.  Seemed to work fine.  I was then out working all day, the computer was in sleep mode, but when I tried to start it up, it was as if the battery were completely drained.  I tried to use my old AC adaptor to plug it in and charge it up, but now the AC adaptor had gone completely caput... would NOT stop beeping, and would not charge.
So, FINALLY, yesterday my new AC adaptor arrived.  My excited quickly changed to frustration when I plugged it in, and it STILL would not charge.  Here is where the weird part comes in....
I know the AC adaptor is fine -- it runs another laptop I have with no problems.  The Dv7 will run and turn on with my old battery, but will not charge with the new AC adaptor.  However, when I put in the NEW battery, it does nothing.  And when I have the new battery installed and plug it in to the AC adaptor, I hear a slight ticking noise coming from the battery area.  The front LED lights flash (about once per second), and if I press the power button, it acts like it tries to start up, but it won't.
This is very strange to me, because clearly the AC adaptor works... and it is getting power to the computer (or else there would be no difference in how it responds to pushing the power button if plugged in or not),.  It acts like it tries to charge (with the clicking noise) but it won't.  My guess is that there is some sort of short, but I really have no idea... I just want it to work!!  Please help!!!

  • HP Envy dv7 7250us problems installing 2nd Hard Drive

I recently cloned my 1TB HDD to an SSD (500GB) or basically restored to it through Acronis, and it finally worked, but then I tried to install the 1 TB original drive in the 2nd Drive Bay, but when the 2nd connector is plugged into the second SATA slot, the power button doesn't work.  I disconnect the plug and the power button works again.  I couldn't find anything in the BIOS setup that you have to turn on to recognize the second drive.  Any clues?
    Thanks,

I did the switch out of the long 2nd connector and the connector/adapter that came with the tray (short like the original one) didn't work either.  I hope it's not, but I suspect the connector receptor on the motherboard would be the next problem to think about.  Something with it is making the power switch not connect.  I don't know, when I disconnect the 2nd connector, it power's/boots right up.

  • Connecting HP Pavillon dv7 to Dish network Service

I recently purchased a HP pavilon dv7 with a built in TV tuner. I have cable tv through DISH network and I m struggling to get my laptop connected with my DISH cable service. I have tried the analog TV antena that came with the laptop and I m able to recieve free channels on air.
The instruction manual for the TV tuner setup asks me to take a co-axial cable from the DVR "Out" port and connect it to the laptop using the co-axial adapter provided. However I do not have a co-axial "Out" port on my DVR. I do have another TV connected directly through a co-axial cable. I tried connecting the laptop to this coaxial cable and still I m unable to detect any TV channels. Can anyone please give me some tips on what to do to get my TV tuner card working with my DISH service.
    Thanks in advance.

Dish Network is not cable TV, it's satellite television.  You need to hook your Dish Network Receiver directly to the tuner; remember, you also will only see channels that work the same way they do that's hooked up to your regular TV, meaning either channel 3, or 73.  Then, you use the Dish Network remote to tune the channels.
IMO, you do not wish to hook up Dish Network to a laptop, since you can't tune in any channels without using there receivers!  If it was a stationary desktop computer, that would make more sense.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6b01tx - Problems with usb 3.00

    HP Pavilion dv7-6b01tx
    A3E26PA#ABG - running windows 7, 64bit
Have been trying to connect to an external hard drive with usb 3.00 linked by a usb 3.00 cable into one of the usb 3.00 ports  (backwards comapatible usb 2.00) upon connection into the port the system notified me with a message that the drivers didn't correctly install.
    - upon further inspection using device manager the system cannot find the correct drivers online. The hdd works fine when connected with the same cable to one of the usb 2.00 only ports. (other devices will work on the usb 3 ports e.g the mouse)

depending on which usb 3.0 controller you have, try installing the most recent one.
here you can find those offered on hp's driver page for your notebook:

however, these may not be the most recent ones. here are the most recent ones, so install the one your notebook has (check that in sysinfo or device manager):

  • HP Pavilion dv7 2230sa problems powering on

Recent fault developed with Notebook.  Pressing power on button fails to produce any lights or start notebook.  Temporary solution, remove battery, wait several minutes re-insert battery plug in mains cable, wait about 5 mins then pressing power button starts notebook which them boots up normally.   Running Windows 7, 64 bit ultimate version.  Recent problems with cordless mice, now on 4th mouse in 4 years, just stop working, batteries replaced. Not all manufacturers provide software updates, have used Microsoft, Logitech, cerulian and latest replacement texet (1 day old).  Use HP Advisor to run regular checks and automatically set to maintain Windows updates.
Fan always has been noisy, has been stripped professionally and cleaned but virtually no dust present, that was 18 months ago so not connected with current problem.  Plenty of disk space.  Recent warning message to replace battery and a extra led has appeared on power button i.e. white led not present before.
    Any suggestions?

Try a hard reset.Disconnect all external devices first.
    1-remove power cord and battery
2-press power button for 30 seconds
3-reinstall only power cord for first startup.
    4-power on
