HP Pc310-1125f power switch blinks 3 times

Hi All,
Have a HP all inone PC 310-1125f. When power is applied power switch blinks 3 times. Nothing else, board shows power. Also when you push power switch the switch blinks 3 times. Have reseated everything, swapped HD,Memory. Does anyone have any ideas. It is out of warranty.

OK partial solution. The battery was flat. The owner is using a non OEM charger and it's not very good. Coupled with the CPU eating battery because it's flat out running all the virii, the charger can't keep up.
I'm cleaning the thing up now via safe mode. This can be closed. I'll post nack if I need more guidance.

  • Hp 630 power led blinking 3 times

    Hello Brothers,
My HP 630 notebook is not powering on by battery neither by power adapter connected. If I press power button when its connected the L.E.D besides the power plug blinks 3 times. This happens till the battery is charged; if the battery is not charged these L.E.Ds don't even light up.
I expect the laptop to power on(when connected to wall outlet) even if the battery is out. Can someone kindly suggest what could be wrong here?
    Thanks a bunch in advance

well, I have tried combo's of all 8 sticks in all different slots... sooo guessing mother board..
not really worth repairing when I can get a mini for less than the cost to fix it... any one want to buy it for parts?

  • Won't power on, but power light blinks.. eh?

    Howdy all,
I was just on my machine, just turned it on and was getting ready to launch a game, when it locked up.  So I reboot... Nothing.  Try again... nothing.  Unplug the PSU, plug it back in, hit the power button... nothing but a blinking power light LED.
I've looked all over the site to find any info on this but can't seem to locate any.  Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, just got the Enermax 550w PSU w/ 36A on all pos rails, and I'm getting the same issue.  When the PSU is plugged in and switched on, the power LED slowly blinks.  When I hit the power button, absolutely nothing happens.  Nothing powers on, and that darned power LED just keeps on blinking away!
I've cleared the CMOS, verified and reverified all the connections within the case.  I've even played with the power/reset/LED/etc headers (such as making the reset button the power switch), but nothing seems to work.  I'm starting to think it's time to RMA the board.
Any other ideas or tricks?  This is, to say the least, quite annoying!    However it was a great reason to get a fantastic PSU, hehe.
EDIT: I just installed a system speaker, and there are no audible beep codes.

  • HI .. I have a new macmini 2.5 Ghz 10.7.3 Lion, had a problem today ,it froze so I could not shut down using mouse or tablet. used the power switch, when I tried to restart I got audible 'beeps' from it.

HI ....I have a new macmini 2.5 Ghz 10.7.3 Lion, had a problem today ,it froze so I could not shut down using mouse or tablet pen. used the power switch, when I tried to restart I got audible 'beeps' from it. I managed to restart it but kept getting a message come up on one ot the dual screens ' restart using the power swich to turn it off , then press it again to restart.'
This worked okay , but now it just keeps freezing whenever I start it up. I thought the issue could be my old Epson Expression 1680 scanner not being compatible , so I have unplugged it. I also had a look at the new memory I installed when I got it, but this seems not be the problem.
It is connected up to an Eizo Flexscan S2231W using a cable straight into the HDMI input , the other monitor is a small Acer using the VGA into Thunderbolt port.
When I turn the Eizo screen on first and then press the power button on the mac-mini, I hear the chime then the screen flahes the 'Digital no signal' message on and off for about 30 seconds , then the monitor comes on as normal. But it is still freezing up on me after using it for a while and I am having to use the power switch button to turn it off again.
    Can anyone help please.

I really don't have an answer for that one. I guess that while trying to get things working correctly, I would use the most basic monitor I had which in your case would be the Eizon using the Thunderbolt port and adaptor.
When you boot into Safe Mode the startup is quite slow, but you should get the Apple logo and then the spinning gear below it (release the SHIFT key when it appears.) Then after a little more time you should see a gray progress bar appear below the spinning gear. When that disappears the computer will startup to a login screen.

  • How to wire remote power switch?

My G5 is under my desk. It's inconvenient to reach the power switch. How can I wire a remote switch that will boot the G5? Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can. If you use a switch that shuts off power completely between the Mac and wall outlet, you would still have to push the power button after restoring the power. And cutting off power completely all the time is not good for the Mac (you would be doing a PMU/SMU reset), and it will drain the PRAM battery more quickly.
You don't want to use sleep mode to avoid the constant daily startups? Then all you need to do is hit any key on the keyboard, or move/click the mouse.
In the old days, Mac keyboards had a power button. Pushing it would power ON the Mac. I just tried an old Mac keyboard with my Power Mac G5 to see if it would still do the power ON function. It does not. I guess Apple expects users to use sleep instead of shutting down all the time.

  • Power switch wiring: I messed up: color/circuit diagram help?

I messed up as I was doing some work inside my 700 MHz eMac.
Managed to break one of the three wires on the power switch. Having done that before, I decided it was time to replace all the wiring with something longer and more substantial. All OK until I realized how stupid I can be: I failed to note the color-to-pin on the the little square 4-pin plug at the motherboard end of the power switch wiring harness. The socket has four pins, like this: :: Can someone tell me which is Red/Green/Black, with orientation, e.g. looking at the socket as it is vertically above the Firewire/USB/Ethernet/sound output socket panel? (That would be, obviously, with the monitor face down)
So some sort of diagram? such as:
    Blank . . Red
    Green . . Black
    Video out
    Ethernet
    etc.
    Many thanks.

    Hey G4,
I've got a 700 logic assembly out here and actually you've got it right.
If you look at that socket that the 2X2 plug plugs into the positions are (this would be in the true orientation of the plug where the bottom is the bottom of the computer):
    Blank . . Red
    Green . . Black
I.E. the top right slot is red the top left is open.
The two important ones are the red and the black. I've got tiny jumpers in the power button end of that cable. When I start the eMac out of the case I momentarily short those two leads together.

  • Phone power-cycles every time I try to run Backup Assistant

I have an LG Glance , and have been having trouble with Backup Assistant. It used to work great, automatically backing up my contacts every afternoon. For the last year or so, however, every time I have tried to run Backup Assistant it power-cycles. For a while this would happen, then if I immediately went back to Backup Assistant after it re-started it would launch, but it would never accept my PIN. I called Verizon support, they made sure I was using the right PIN (I as), they re-set my PIN (didn't work), and they had me un-install and re-install Backup Assistant (didn't work). Now it power-cycles every time I try to launch Backup Assistant, so I never even get a chance to try my PIN. I have tried to launch Backup Assistant while the phone is plugged in (thinking it might be a power problem), but it did the exact same thing. The contacts in my Backup Assistant online are now almost a year out-of-date, and I'm soon going to be switching phones.
Any ideas about what I need to do to make Backup Assistant work again?

It sounds like you've done all the troubleshooting you can.
When you reinstall Backup Assistant, and it asks for a PIN, and it won't accept yours - here's something else you can try that HAS worked for me, counter-intuitive as it seems to be.  Instead of using your existing PIN, choose the option to set up a NEW PIN - but then, put in your existing PIN anyway.  Somehow that re-connects - at least it did for me.
You need to uninstall, reboot, and reinstall BUA, then, when going through the setup, choose NEW PIN.  Use your existing as the NEW PIN.
If that doesn't work, a corporate store should be able to transfer your existing contacts from your current phone to your new device; my local store has done this for all of our recent upgrades.
    Good luck to you!

  • HT4623 just updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, now my phone won't turn back on. The apple logo comes on and sits then shuts off. I have held down the home button and on/off switch several times to reset, but same problem persists.

just updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, now my phone won't turn back on. The apple logo comes on and sits then shuts off. Then comes back on and just sits.I have held down the home button and on/off switch several times to reset, but same problem persists.

Place iPhone on Wall Charger for at least 10 minutes. Then keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, this can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger. If still problem, open iTunes 10.7 on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, then click Restore button of iTunes. If still problem, try DFU Mode Restore, here are the steps. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time. If the iPhone screen is black, blank this is DFU Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. DFU Mode can be difficult to enter sometimes, just keep trying. DFU Mode is a black, blank screen with iTunes saying Recovery Mode. If still problem and there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution.

  • Power switch design needs a rethink

Making the main power switch a key on the keyboard was really a terrible idea.  I hit it by accident at least a few times daily.  Is there any workaround for this? For example is there a way to reassign the on/off function to <fn> on/off so you have to hold down two keys at once?  I really really wish apple would go back to the recessed metal button I had on my previous macbook pro.  I never had this problem before.  Progress, I guess?  I suppose it's one of many chanes that led to the ultrathin design.

  • Power switch problem

    Hi all,
I have a strange problem with the power switch, I means the switch on back of the Power Supply, not on the front panel. Just switch on the power supply, all fans in the case will immediately running! The system remain un-booted. Then if I press the power button, the system will boot normally.
My understanding is, when I switch the power supply, the whole system will do nothing, ONLY after the power on button, boot will start, fan will spin. Do you have the same problem? How to solve it?

I can't believe this would suddenly start happening, but this is a copy and paste (in italic)  from another thread on this forum.
False Start For Me As Well !!!
    Hello,
I've just bought and tried 3 different Antec Neopower power supplies on my MSI Neo2 Platinum motherboard (AMD Nforce3, socket 939) and I still experience the same problem :
Everytime I switch on my computer I hear the fans working, the disks starting but the power led remains off and if I do nothing the screen remains black. I have to hit the power button one more time in order to startup my computer. I do not have this problem when I restart the computer from windows. Moreover I could see that when I unplug the power connectors of my 2 raptors I do not have the problem, the system is starting the first time I switch it on (I tried different cables of course). I also removed the power supply from the case but it's still the same.
Precision : I NEVER had this kind of problem with my former Tagan 480W.
As I already tried with 3 different Neopower power supplies I now ask you for help. Please
Now that looks like a power issue.

  • Kt6v power switch

Hi.  I've just purchased this board.  Im ripping my hair out trying to figure out how to connect the power switch on front of computer.  I know which cable it is and that it goes on back of board, but which pins exactly does it go on?
    thanx

Could you tell us something more about your system, please. The hard disk configuration would be very interesting in this case, as well as the amperes for your PSU.
When installing WXP, maybe for the very first time, it is a good idea to have as little as possible in your system. Like, no USB devices, no PCI cards, only one stick of memory, only one hard disk, and to have the install device - CD or DVD - as Master at the end of another IDE cable.

  • IPhone power switch

the power switch on top of the IPhone does not depress.
Is there a fix for this?

Have you recently dropped the phone? I would guess that unless that happened, or something inside the switch could have broke when you depressed it the last time, those could be the only ways for it to quit.
If you haven't dropped it and it won't work/depress, then I suggest making an appointment at a local Apple store to the Genius bar to have them look at it/replace it. If it was dropped, the warranty does not cover accidental damage/abuse.
    Hope this answers your question.

I just came back and re-read your original post....  If you are seeing the hard drive LED flashing for just a fraction of a second when pressing the power button and nothing else seems to be working normally (no sounds, no video, etc.), then your system may have what has been termed the "Blink of Death" (aka, BoD).  Removing the MiniPCI card will not help with the BoD but if your system has another problem besides the BoD, then it could, assuming that the system eventually does start working again.
Most of the time what helps a BoD system to come alive again is to remove both the battery and the AC adapter from the system for several days.  Other advice I've seen, which has not worked for me whenever I've tried it (I also have two BoD systems), is when you have removed all power, press the power button several times and then hold it down for about 30 seconds.

  • External Power Switch

I just purchased a new 24SL410U TV for my severely handicapped daughter. Is it possible to turn on the TV with the remote or power button and then just turn the TV on and off via an external switch power switch and not have to touch the remote or power button again?

that is freaky. mine does a similar thing. i've observed my imac switch on all by itself. i turn it off in the morning when i leave for work and when i get back home in the evening i find the imac on but is in sleep mode. i've seen it happen right before my eyes once. but it doesn't happen all the time. maybe once to twice a week... trojan maybe? maybe we need an exorcist? it is definitely not the schedule/start or wakeup facility under preferences... energy saver... since i've never turned that
featuret on. although i do use the schedule to switch off my mac at 12 pm every weekday. maybe its another undocumented feature of mac leopard (among many other things). i sure never had this problem when i was using tiger.
