HP Photosmart 2710 - driver - Windows 8 load no go help !!!!

Running in circles trying to load the HP Photosmart 2710 All In One - driver - on the newer Windows 8 Desktop computer.  We are set up with a router & the rest of the laptops work fine.  I've gone to the http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03460648&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4132&product=420...
All In One HP Print Support Screen and tried to down load the driver through the wizzard & manually.  I have no signs that it is attempting to load.
Please help.
Thanks,

With the 2710 printing via the USB cable we know the class driver is available on the computer. I want you to have Windows Defender disabled, you can enabled it once the printer is added.
Remove the USB connection and restart the computer.
Open Devices and Printers then click Add a printer.
Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer then select your 2710 (if the 2710 does not display in this list the printer is not being seen over the network and will have to be setup on the network again)
Under Manufacturer select HP then under printers look for and select your 2710 (it may display as 2700)
Finish the install and try to print.
Let me know if this helped.
Thanks,
JERENDS

    Hi lt12345,
I understand that you are looking to use the Photosmart 2710 with Windows 8.1 RT, but are unable to locate a driver. In my attempt to locate a driver I have come up empty handed. It appears that this printer is not supported for printing from Windows RT.

  • HP Photosmart 7520 printer window displays "Loading" can't copy/scan/fax from printer.

Our power went out approximately five days ago.  Once the power came back on I unplugged our computer and printer, replugged them in tried to restart each.  We are set up wireless....through our landline phone service and satelite TV.  The PC works fine, I can print from the PC with the HP Photosmart 7520 printer and it prints fine.  However, the printer does not display any functions in the printer screen.  I am unable to get it to come back so that I can copy/scan/fax.  The printer window just keeps displaying the word "Loading" and the circle keeps going around on the printer screen (for 3 hours today.....same thing before....I keep shutting the printer down and retrying to no avail)  We did get a message of some error "syntec" not connected.  We have no idea what that is.  Everything is connected exactly how it was prior to our power going out.  The printer is just over a year old.  We seem to keep having issues of various kinds with this printer. We are not very tech savy but, can usually get things accomplished on our PC and we have used the printer often to copy/scan/fax.  Thanks for any help, much appreciated.

Welcome back to the HP Community @logger2 !
I saw your post about how ever since your power went out, the display on the printer will not function properly, causing you to not be able to scan, copy, or fax. My best suggestion would be to try another power reset (below), and if the screen still does not work properly, to contact us directly to see what your replacement options are for another printer.
    Reset Instructions:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Make sure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power.

  • Photosmart 2710 prints garbage from Windows 8.1 but prints OK from Windows 7

Photosmart 2710 connected wirelessly to Verizon FIOS router, prints fine when sent files from Windows 7 clients (also connected wirelessly). When sent print jobs from a Windows 8.1 wireless client, printer produces page after page of single lines of mostly graphics characters, with an occasional page of several lines of what appears to be XML.
Printer driver was installed using the standard 'Add printer' button on the Devices and Printers dialog under Control Panel.
I have downloaded and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which found no problems, but its Test Page produced the same erroneous behavior.
Windows 8.1 on Asus X551 notebook, Intel Celeron 1007U x64 processor, 64-bit OS.

  • Installing windows vista load driver problem

I am trying to load Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 32. I follow the bootcamp assistant instructions. I select "Disk 0 Partition 3 BOOTCAMP" as instructed but the "Next" button will not function. I can tab or select between drives, Refresh and Load Driver but cannot get to Next. The Bootcamp instructions say to load drivers after Windows is installed but I can't get Windows installed?? What am I doing wrong?

Found my own problem. Had to click on drive options advanced and format. That still didn't work because the disk was too small. Increased disk size and successfully completed install.

  • Windows XP SP2 - Camera driver will not load

Have the same problem on two different machines. iTunes sees the phone and all the things in it sync as expected, Contacts, Calendar, Pictures, Music, etc.
The first time I connected the phone after taking a picture, I get the pop up showing that Windows sees the Digital Still Camera. Shortly after that I get the "Windows encountered a problem" message stating that my new device might not work properly. The phone is connected directly to the PC's USB 2.0 port using the cable that came with the phone.
Device manager shows the Digital Still Camera with the yellow exclamation mark on the icon. The device status reports...
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware
because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)"
I removed iTunes 7.3.1 and reinstalled it. I removed the camera driver, rebooted, and let Windows re-recognize the camera. Same problem, both machines, both XP Pro SP2.
    Any ideas?
      Windows XP Pro

Resolved. No wonder I'm the only one that encountered this.
I use a Visioneer Strobe Pro USB sheet fed scanner.
    http://support.visioneer.com/products/mobile/EOL/StrobePro/
In Device Manager under Imaging Devices, it was showing Digital Still Camera (with the yellow exclamation mark) and Visioneer StrobePro USB Scanner.
On a whim, I decided to unplug the scanner. Then I closed the scanner driver via its icon in the system tray. Within a few seconds, Device Manager updated itself, Digital Still Camera had changed to Apple iPhone. Right away I got the 'Camera connected' dialog asking how I wanted to retrieve the photos from my device. It also shows up in My Computer under Scanners and Cameras. Problem solved.
Next I plugged my scanner back in and now it's got the yellow exclamation mark indicating a problem with the driver. No big surprise.
Once I disconnect the phone and plug the scanner back in, Device Manager updates again and the scanner driver shows back up without the yellow icon. Lastly I reload the scanner driver.
I'm not sure why these two conflict. Don't know if Windows forbids more than one imaging device to be connected at a time or what. Maybe the scanner driver is so old that it doesn't behave properly...it's certainly not certified on XP.

Problem is: Photosmart c6180 driver disapears after restarting Windows 7
    Operating System is: Windows 7
    Connection is Wireless
    Printer is Photosmart c6180
    Driver is for Windows

HP Support was not help:  they could not even get the printer to work even when it was wired USB since they refused to remove the driver first.  I have old computers and use USB Hubs so it puts a strain on the resources to hook up to much on the USB Ports evern with the extra power they have.
I have removed the driver and reinstalled it at least 2-3 times a month since January.  The computer sees and installs the printer and it works fine as long as I do not shut down the computer.  However whenever there are any updates for windows the computer needs to be restarted and then the printer won't work anymore.
I tryed this today which I found on the internet and it did not work either.
Click on another printer or the Microsoft XPS Document Writer
Click on Printer server properties in the top menu
Choose Drivers in the Installed printer drivers select the printer that was uninstalled in step 3.
Click on Remove and when asked choose Remove driver and driver package and click on ok.
Install the Windows 7 software for the printer.
Does anyone have anything else I can try.  I reinstall the printer driver again for the second time today and it allways works just fine if I just never had to restart the computer it would work fine.

  • HP Photosmart 245 Driver for Windows 7?

Ok, so I picked up this Photosmart 245 from a tag sale and quickly learned it was very old. I followed some articles and came to an article that said a compadible driver was the Photosmart 330. So, I go to download the Photosmart 330 driver, and all it tells me is to plug it in to the computer. If I don't own it, how am I supposed to plug it into the computer? I keep reading, and it also tells me there is a wizard. I follow the wizard's steps, and to no avail. Apparently this "wizard" doesn't have very much magic. It tells me that the Photosmart 245 does not have a driver, and to download the Photosmart 330 driver. Nowhere on HP's website will it provide me with a Windows 7 driver for the Photosmart 330. Does anyone know where I can get a plain old .exe that will install the driver? Help greatly appreciated!

Note:  I also tried to rebuild Windows Update's SoftwareDistribution file to get Photosmart 330 to show up, that didn't work either

  • REPEATED disconnections & flashing buttons: PhotoSmart 2710 & Win7 Ultimate 64-bit

    Dear Representative:
I've TRIED numerous of the previously discussed (on this board, among other technical websites Google found outside of HP) suggested techniques to resolve this problem, along with trying a variety of other software fixes on my own. So far NONE has fixed my PhotoSmart 2710's repeated malfunction (I would say this probably happens more than TWO DOZEN times each day).
Problem is I do not know a technical term to describe or associate this type of malfunctioning behaviour. So I have to describe thismalfunctioning behavior in detail. It is important to mention I am using a D-Link wireless router- with one of the four networking outgoing CAT-5 ports connected to the printer with a CAT-5 cable. I am not using the PhotoSmart's wireless since this has caused similar behaviors- even when running Windows XP and 2000 Pro.
Each time this malfunctioning behavior happens: ALL of the buttons (Copy, Scan, Fax, and photo), the light next to the "on" button & the "!" light FLASHES until I press the "on" button to restart the 2710. When this malfunction happens, the 2710's LCD Screen's colorful background disappears, and is replaced with a solid blue background. The top-half of the 2710's LCD screen states "Error:0x887dc92e" and the bottom-half states: "1:??" Also HP's Digital Imaging Monitor (using the Vista 64 version Software Essentials) in the quick-launch bar pops up a mini-window which states "hp 192.168.0.103 is disconnected."
HP's Windows Vista 64 bit software (PhotoSmart Essential version 1 & 3) and Windows 7 64 bit HP Home Network Diagnostic Utility & HP Print Software Patch When Upgrading Vista to Windows 7 have NOT fixed the problem, and Windows 7 Microsoft Update driver for the 2700 series printers will NOT install.
Please advise: (1) What is this type of malfunctioning behavior called?
    (2) Are there non-previously mentioned software or techniques you recommend to correct this problem?
Thank you in advance for your time, interest and assistance resolving this problem!
    Charles
EDIT: I forgot to mention: (1) 3 computers are connected through the wireless router to the printer.  My t500 ThinkPad (Runs Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit), Tecra M4-S435 (runs Windows XP Pro- Tablet Edition), and ANCIENT Gateway Desktop (Intel Celeron Processor 633MHz, with 512 MB ram) which runs both Windows XP Pro and 2000 Pro.
    (2) When I tried to connect my t500 to the PhotoSmart 2710 with HP's XP (NON-64 bit) full-software & driver (Running this program in Windows 7 Ultimate 64's compatibility OS mode for XP SP3), the installation software FOUND the printer through the network automatically OR after I gave the IP address / MAC address, but repeatedly went backward in the setup process- asking if I was connecting to the printer by USB cable OR through the network.

    I had a similar problem.
I tried doing a partial reset by removing the power cable holding down # and 3 while plugging in the power cable. A message appears on the screen saying partial reset, but this did not resolve the problem.
I then restarted the printer and opened it to show the ink cartridges. Once they had stopped moving around I removed both ink cartridges before the lights started flashing and the printer then started as normal!
I put the ink cartridges back in restarted the printer and all worked ok.
Not sure if it makes a difference but all cables other than the power cable were unplugged at the time.
Hopefully this will help resolve someone else's problem...

  • Hard-Drive not Detected load sata drivers

Hi everyone I have a G6-1189sa notebook, I had a faulty harddrive so replaced it with the exact same drive 750GB WD, Thing is I could not save anything from the original drive ? so no recovery partitions are anything I even lost all my family photos and software.
Ok so I done a straight swap over and went ahead installing my fresh Windows 7 x64 disk, then I got an error message saying no device detected please install driver etc etc.
I know I need to install the sata driver for the harddrive to be detected, so I extracted the HP sata control driver to a USB pen the tried to load the driver, with the load driver option on the install disk.
Error message saying driver is not signed !!!!   So after some reading on google I learned I had to disable the naitive sata option in the bios settings for the harddrive to be detected.
Thing is there is not a option for this in my bios ?  unless Im missing something like an advanced bios setting.
I even went to the Intel site and tried some of there drivers but I get the same error message driver not signed.
So my question is ? how can I disable the native sata option if Its possible , If not how can I load the HP sata driver if its not signed.
Its very anyoing someone even said I have to slip the drivers in and make a new home made W7 disk myself to get my pc working again what the hell, where would I start.
Maybe I should put the laptop in the post and send it back, Ive never had so much trouble before making simple memory and harddrive exchanges.
Any advice please people Im at my wits end, my laptop is only a few month old and its now a door stopper lol

    Hi,
Boot into the bios and be sure that the hard drive is detected.
Sata drivers are included in Windows 7.
Return the bios to its default settings and use the HP Recovery Disks.  If you don't have the Recovery Disks then order them from HP. Order HP recovery Disks.

  • Installing HP Solution Center for HP Photosmart C6380 in Windows 7

Installing HP Solution Center for HP Photosmart C6380 in Windows 7
After this scanner/printer has loaded down the Driver - Product Installation Service the next step of downloading software is interrupted by the notice/instruction "The system cannot find the file specified" identified as
    C:\Users\Owner\Appdata\Local\Temp\7zS2780\Setup\.\Setup\blocksysuserins...
Then the  Driver - Product Installation Service is once again downloaded and when that issue is successfully completed, then, once again, the next download is interrupted by
the notice/instruction "The system cannot find the file specified" identified as
    C:\Users\Owner\Appdata\Local\Temp\7zS2780\Setup\.\Setup\blocksysuserins...
and the process continues in an infinite loop.
That means that my HP Photosmart C6380 in Windows 7 will be useless during an infinite time.

    Hi,
Follow the steps below and check if that resolve the issue:
    1. Open Mcafee software, from the Virus and Spyware Protection section click on Schedule and run scans. Click on Real time scanning and then on Turn Off. select till I restart the PC and confirm by clicking the Turn Off button.
Now try reinstalling the HP Software and check if the installation goes as expected.
If the issue persists continue following the next steps below:
    2. Open the run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %windir% and click on OK.
    3. Type hpoins*.dat into the top search bar, if there are any results rename the extention into old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)
    4. Type hpwins*.dat into the top search bar, if there are any results rename the extention into old instead of dat. (e.g. hpwins1.old)
    5. Launch the Run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER into the Run dialog and click on OK.
    6. Launch the Run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER into the Run dialog and click on OK.

Troubledguy, welcome to the forum.  We'll try to get you smiling again.
When I hear these symptoms, I consider two main components: 1) the hard drive and 2) the memory.  Here is a guide to help you run the SMART test on the hard drive from the BIOS.  It will tell you if the hard drive is failing or has failed.  You can test the memory by removing all of the modules and replacing them one at a time and booting.  Place the single module in the slot closest to the processor.
