HP photosmart 5514 wont print black

I have been haveing problems with my printer no printing black I already try clean the printhead and nothing. I also believe I dont have warrenty. I have run a print status and print quality report and both only show the color ink.

Photosmart 6515 Wont Print Black Ink

I too am having the same problem as everyone else. I have had 3 printer from HP and always bragged about how good they are...All of a sudden 2 of the 3 went bad...the HP 6515 wont print the black ink, as well as the Photosmart B209.
I spent over $100 on ink for both of these and they wont print...I tried all the little suggestions.
This will be my last HP when the new one I purchased a few months back goes out. I think that is why they are $100 machines...they only last 1 year and you have to go buy a new one...
Very dissapointed!!!

HP Photosmart 5514 not printing black ink

For the past few months my HP 5514 Photosmart printer has been acting weird. It will print random characters in the middle of a print job, and stop the job all together. Most recently, the printer as all together stopped printing black ink. I can't even print something as simple as word document. I changed all the cartridges (black, cyan, yellow, and magenta) and ran all the diagnostic tests suggested by other users in these forums (a few time). After sitting on the phone with HP tech support for 45 minutes, she concluded that there was no replacement part and that the only solution was for me to buy a refurbished printer from them that uses the same ink (because I was pissed about spending the $$$ on ink to just find out that that wasn't the issue). I cannot justify spending more money on a HP product that is more than likely going to have the same problem down the line. She offered me an extended 3-year warranty, but that doesn't help. When I need to print things, I need my printer to be reliable. I can't be sending a product back and forth to HP. This printer was purchased in November of 2012 (so about its about a year and half old) and has been used for basic home needs. I am very frustrated with the answers I got from HP, and the fact that the best solution was for me to fork over another $180 (if I didn't need it asap it would be $140-so I was going to be paying the shipping)...is ridiculous. Any help would be appreciated in remedying this issue.

Wireless photosmart 5520 wont print black

Printer wont print in black ink only. Have reset several times. Cleaned printhead. Diagnostic shows colors fully but 4 small stripes of black. Help!

I'm sorry to hear you've been having issues with your Photosmart 5520 and printing in black ink only. I will certainly do my best to help
I will suggest that you begin with following the steps within this Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages document. Those steps should be able to get the black ink flowing properly again.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, please let me know whether the printer is still under warranty or not and what country you're located in. Please feel free to private message me the country information if you'd like to keep it off the forums!

Photosmart 7510 wont print black

Help!!! on my last tax forms for my business and I can't get the black to work even with a new cartridge!!! screen shows a full black but when i print a report for the ink it shows nothing!!! i have to have my printer fast!!!

I read about the black ink not printing from your Photosmart 7510, and I wanted to write you with my suggestions.
First try troubleshooting the problem by using this guide: Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in...
If you still cannot print in black when the troubleshooting is done, please call us to see about your printer replacement options.

You did not go unheard, I see you are unable to print black from your Photosmart 5510. If this is still unresolved, I'd like to help.

Photosmart 5525 wont print black

printer will not print black, all other colors print fine, have run clean print head so many times that my new colored ink cartiridges are low on ink. When it runs the clean head the black column is empty no black at all. I have no other ideas on what to do except maybe get a new printer...not an hp. Also i have had this issue before and i have cleaned the heads and it is working again, so i dont knwo if that one head is clogged or what ...and yes i did try anther ink cartiridge. any help would be appreciated

The post here has links to a troubleshooting document for the Photosmart 5520 series. If the steps there do not resolve the issue please contact HP Support, even if the printer is no longer under warranty. If the above does not give satisfactory results then please post back here and mention what country you are in.

Photosmart 6515 wont print black properly

I am having issues getting this printer to print every line. I have cleaned and tryed to align the printhead over a dozen times with no improvement. The cartridges are new i just used up the setup ones that came with the printer. It hasnt even printed 100 pages yet but is out of waranty. From what i have read this is a common issue. What now?

Photosmart b209 wont print black

hi
i just changed print cartridges. all of the colour cartridges are working well but the black is not printing at all. it is showing full in the status window but nothing is coming out. could you give me some advice please.

I understand that you are having issues with not printing black ink from your B209a. I have included a document here 'Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems'. Please follow all the steps in order for the best resolution.

Photosmart 5514 not printing black ink

I have read through many of the posts/suggestions on the forum relating to this issue. I have followed the HP support recommendations of using genuine HP ink cartridges (always have) and have run the clean printhead tool. I even removed the printhead and cleaned it with very hot water as suggested by others. Something I'm not sure if I've seen is that I have replaced the print head with a new one. Lastly, I reinstalled the printer drivers just to make sure there wasn't some issue there. After each of these, I would always go back to print a test page, but the black ink STILL does not print, although the other colors are fine. Does anyone have other suggestions or is this a lost cause?

Please try hard reset the printer and try again:
Remove the cartridges from the printer,
Follow these steps to perform a hard reset on the printer,
Press the Power button to turn on the product,
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product,
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet,
Wait at least 15 seconds,
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet,
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product,
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the power button to turn it on,
Now printer asks for the cartridges, then go ahead and put them back in.

HP photosmart C5280 wont print on cd/dvd

HP photosmart C5280 wont print on to DVD/CD's it says this printer is not ecwipt to print dretliey onto CD/DVD's
but it has the drop down tray for it and the softwere for it ?

You're very much right. There are several different companies that make software that allows you to print directly to the CD/DVD. The link below will take you to a list of those software packages. Hope that helps.

My hp photosmart 7150 only prints black and white with mac. I have tried installing and uninstalling, installing drivers, but no change.

You did not mentioned your Mac OS X version, however I assume you have one of the latest versions.
The Photosmart 7150 is not supported on Mac OS X v10.6, v10.7, v10.8 or v10.9 and therefore it is more than likely that there are no drivers for your OS and the used Generic Driver only provide B&W printing.
Although it is not officially supported you may check 3rd party solutions such as the 3rd party HP-IJS print drivers which list your printer as supported.
Be sure to install any of the 3 required downloads, then click the plus sign under Printers & Scanners, click the Use drop down and click on Select Printer Software.
Search for your printer model form the list and select the driver, I believe that may work:

Although it only list up to 10.8 (Mountain Lion) it should also work on Mavericks from my experience.

Desk jet f4280 wont print black

printer wont print black ink. prints color ink fine. infact, if i have an office doc i just change the text color 2 dark blue, and it is just fine. color ink indicator is all 4 lights bright green. black ink indicator is all 4 lights-light green. (tried a used-up black, and it does not display green lights, -shows a bright orange light instead.) really need the black ink to work, though, because i cant change the color of something i found on the web.

I understand that your HP Deskjet 1000 will not print using the black ink cartridge, but will with only the color cartridge.
Please take a look through this print quality guide, Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Deskjet 1000, 2000, 3000....

HP Photosmart D110a wont print from HP Pav dv7 laptop, getting weird error msg - can anyone help??

Im running on a Windows Visa Home Premium OS, looks like Service Pack 2, and have not made any system changes to my laptop or upgraded anything recently.
Was able to print fine from my laptop on Monday, but 3 days later Im getting this error message: ""the job failed to print due to an error in the printing system" when trying to print a standard MS Word doc.
I can still get the printer to print fine by using the control panel on the unit itself and requesting to "Run a Wireless Network Test" and also when I've requested a "Print Status Report", "Print Quality Report", etc. But when sending files from the laptop it refuses to work.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know - desperate to get this thing back up online but unfortunately Im a tech idiot and havent been able to solve it yet, though Ive searched for hours now it seems.

5520 wont print black ink

can someone please help me with this issue.. my 5520 wont print black.. it prints color ok and it also prints grey it just wont print black it stopped working after i replaced the cartridge.. i then replaced the black one a second time and it still doesnt work.. i have tried all of the cleaning suggested and have also cleaned the vent but it looked as as picture and it still doesnt print black.. please help i cant afford new printer and i cant afford to buy ink ...help!!!!

As this is a 5520 I would advise calling HP Support, even if you're out of warranty, as you may require a replacement printer
