Hp photosmart 6520 error 403

Hi just wondering if you can help me with an issue im having with my Photosmart 6520.
Everytime i try to 'Scan to email' it comes up with.... server connection error 403.
I have read that alot of people are having the same issue and that a way to resolve the issue is to factory reset.
Can i please be sent the steps on how to do this.
Thanks.

If you're not using the ePrint feature of the printer and you only use it for Wireless Network Printing and/or Scan to eMail,  you can proceed on the following steps:
First, tap the ePrint button which is found on the top left corner of the screen (see the picture below)
Go to Settings, then look for Remove Web Services, hit Yes. It should go back to the Home Screen.
Tap the ePrint button again then Accept the Terms, press Yes if prompted to enable Auto Update then once done on the process try scanning again.
Hope this works for you!

  • Server Connection Error 403 - HP Photosmart 6520

My scanner all of a sudden stopped working and I got "Server Connection Error 403"
    How do I fix this?

    Hello @SeanTK ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you are getting a Server Connection Error 403.
    I would like to help.
You would only receive the 403 error if you are using scan to email.
There are a few things you can try to resolve this issue.
    Hard reset the printer.
While the printer is turned on, unplug the power cord.
    Wait at least 30 seconds.
Plug the power back into the printer.
    Test the scan to email.
If you still get the error, try setting a manual DNS.
The following post by happytohelp01 has instructions for setting the manual DNS.
It is for a Photosmart 7510, but the steps should be very similar.
Re: Efax 7510 still won't work after turning off/on ePrint
If the Error is still present after setting the manual DNS, you should cycle your network.
Turn off your network devices, including the printer.
Unplug the power to your router for about a minute.
Plug the power back into the router.
Turn on your printer, and the other network devices.
When the blue wireless light on the printer stops blinking, try the scan to email.
Another option is to remove then re-enable the printers Web Services.
This will act like an uninstall and reinstall.
Caution: removing the printers Web Services will cause it to permanently loose its ePrint address.
If the ePrint address has been customised then that address will be lost forever.
Once you enable the Web Services again you will have to setup the scan to email.
This will provide you with a new pin.
If you need further deatail on any of the steps, please let me know.
You can also call our Cloud Services at 855-785-2777.

  • I have a 6520 printer and i'm getting a connection server error 403

I have read previous posts and none of the suggestions have worked to fix my error 403, i dont know how to get the scan to email app, i have tried several tests and all come back working fine, i need to scan to email asap

    Hello mksmjenn,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I am not sure which suggestions you have taken in an attempt to correct this 403 error on your Photosmart 6520. I do see that you have posted on another Thread regarding this, I was unable to find the correct link for the reset and can only assume that you connected the printer with a Manual I.P address and DNS.
I would like you to try the steps I have given here: Re: Trouble scanning using Photosmart 6520. If you have tried the 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 DNS, skip to the other DNS I suggested.
Let me know the out come of all the steps.

  • Hp photosmart 6510 error code 403

    Hi there!
My photosmart all in one 6520 used to work perfectly but as of today-
When I tried scanning a document and sending it to my registered email, it showed an error: 403 cannot connect to server
I then tried verifying my Internet connection and it was still connected and my printer showed a good wireless connection.
My hpeprint email address was created a while ago but it is saved on this printer so I tried logging in on hpeprint center website, and it did not recognize my email address....not did it recognize my @hpeprint.com address.
I need a document scanned urgently to my computer but if I use wireless to scan and send the document, it displays as a .jpg file not a .pdf even after I changed the settings on my computer to scan it as a document.
    Someone please help!!

I am more than happy to help either get the 403 error resolved or to try to turn your .jpg into a .pdf.  When you see a 403 error you need to clean what is called the cache.  Try a different web-browser or just shut down the PC and turn it back on.  If that does not help, please tell me which web browser are you using and I will be happy to show you how to clean the browsing data, tracking cookies, etc.
Also, eprintcenter is migrating over to www.hpconnected.com.  Try logging in there to see if that is why you cannot log in at eprintcenter however I think once you get past the error message you should be able to log in.  I would also check for an invite to migrate to that site as well.  I really hope this helps you!  Let me know what happens or specify which web browser and operating system you have so I can be of better assistance.

  • HP Photosmart 6520 Server Connection Error: -1: Apps don't work and Scan to email doesn't work

My HP PhotoSmart 6520 has a persistent error to connect to the server and therefore Apps and Scan to email doesn't work.
I have manually set DNS to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4, I have installed latest driver on my Macbook pro, I have updated firmware, but still not working. Weird is also that in my ePrintCenter, the Apps I see there are not in line with thos visible on the printer.
Detail is that I have set up the printer on a Windows PC but recently changed to Mac.
Printing, scan to Computer all works fine.
Help! I have read a lot on forums but so far no solution for me!

    Hi Jack6520,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you are unable to connect to the apps and use the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 6520 printer due to a server connection error.
First off, thank you for the very detailed information, I really appreciate it.
To better assist you, would you please provide some additional information:
When you set the manual DNS servers, did you also set a manual IP address for the printer?
Have you changed routers or internet service providers recently?  Have you updated the firmware on the router? If you have an ISP-provided router, do you know if they pushed out a firmware update?
Have you recently installed any new anti-virus/malware software?  If so it may have blocked the ports the printer uses to communicate.  I’ve included a post by VisionAiry titled “Check the Anti-Virus for Blocked Ports and Timed Scans”.
Do you have a guest network setup? Please Print a Network Configuration page. It will let you know how many networks the printer sees. A guest network will have the same name as your network with a tag about it being the guest network.
Previously did you customize the printer’s ePrint email address? I’m asking this because I might ask you to disable then enable the web services.  If we have to take this step you will lose the customized ePrint email address without any ability to get it back.
What version of Mac OS X are you using? whatsmyos.com
Are there any cables other than the power cable connected to the printer?
    Thank you.

When I run the printer assistant for scanning on the Windows side everything works fine
BUT when I do to the desktop option and then try and run the scanning option (using the printer assistant) it want to re-setup every time.  I went on-line and downloaded the entire printer setup for windows 8.1 and still get the same error.

    Hello JonHayward.
I understand your concerns. It seems like your printer software has a conflict. Please follow these steps to try and resolve your issue:
Please uninstall your software from the Control Panel of your computer. I will provide an HP document here, to help perform these steps.
Next, clean your Temp Folder on your computer. I will provide a YouTube video on performing this step here.
Before installing the software onto your computer, please follow this HP document on Using Microsoft System Configuration. Only perform Figure 2, Figure 3 and figure 4, but exclude number 5 in this document. Do not perform any further steps.
Now, install the full feature software from the CD or from the HP website here. Please choose your correct operating system; either 32 bit or 64 bit.
Afterward, perform step 5 in the "Using Microsoft System Configuration" document. This will enable the normal start up.
Please inform me your troubleshooting steps.
    Good luck.

I am connect to the internet but when I go to scan a document I keep getting the message - Server Connection error 403. It ask me if I want to retry, which I do and still no scanning.
I have read the previous enrtyys and tried some stpes but nothing is working...was fine yesterday when I didn't really need it but today I do and it's not working!!!

    Hello JJAMISON,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that you are getting a connection error message when trying to use the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 5520 printer.
There are several steps I would like you to try please.
    Please turn off your printer.
Please turn off your router.  If your router doesn’t have an on/off switch, please unplug the power cord from the router.
After waiting a full 60 seconds please turn on your router (or plug it back in).
After the router has completed its startup routine please turn on your printer.
After the printer has completed its startup routine, please test the scan to email feature.  If it works there no need to continue with any further trouble shooting steps.
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. I have included a link to another post with the steps, including screen shots on how to do this.   Don’t worry that the screen shots show a Photosmart 7510 printer, the steps are the same.
Please test the scan to email feature.  If it works there is no need to continue with any further trouble shooting steps.
Please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

  • Error 403 photosmart 5520

Error 403 indicates my print it, I can not scan and send to my mail this always gone well tidy
I have a photosmart 5520 all in one series what can I do here would like to hear a solution.

    Hi @hennieapeldoorn,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you are no longer able to use the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 5520 printer.
Please start by setting a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for your printer. I have included a link to another post that has the steps with screen shots.  Don’t worry that the screen shots are for a Photosmart 7510, the steps are the same.  Once you’ve set the manual IP and DNS servers, you should be able to connect to web services and use the scan to email feature.

  • Error 403 when sanning a doc to email

When I try to scan a document and send it to an email address from the printer I just get error 403 and it will not sacn.
Why and what can I do to solve it. I have tryed rebooting printer, adding a new email address but no difrence. It has been working and has only stopped in the last few days.
    thanks
    Mark

    Hello @Markems!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I can see that you are getting a 403 error when trying to scan to email from the Photosmart 6520.  The scan to email feature on your printer is an app that connects to the the HP Web Services server.  If there is a slight issue with the communication to the server then you may get odd errors.  I would be more then happy to provide some suggestions that should resolve your issue.
The first thing I recommend is to power cycle the printer and the router and try again. If that doesnt work as a quick fix you may need to change the DNS server that the printer is using.  To change the manual DNS you will need to get the IP address from the printer.  To get the IP address from the Photosmart 6520 just press the little Wi-Fi icon at the top of the printer touch screen and it should be displayed.
Once you have the IP address open a web browser on your computer and type the IP address in the address bar.  You should be re-directed to the printers embedded web server.
Once you are connected to the printer:
Click on the "Network" tab at the top of the page
Click "Networking" on the left column
Click "Network Address (IP) on the left column
    Change DNS to Manual
For manual Preferred DNS Server enter: 8.8.8.8
For manual Alternate DNS Server enter: 8.8.4.4
    Click Apply
    Try scan to email again
If worse comes to worse and you are still not able to connect and utilize scan to email then you will need to reset the web services in the printer and re-setup scan to email.  To reset web services press the Web Services icon at the top left corner of the printers screen (looks like a cellphone).  Go into settings and select remove Web Services.  Once that is finished you should be sent back to the printer home screen.  Press the Web Services icon again and confirm the setup.
IF YOU HAVE EPRINT SETUP AND YOU RESET WEB SERVICES IT WILL NEED TO BE SETUP AGAIN!
Let me know if this worked out for you and thanks again for posting on the HP Forums!
