HP Photosmart 6525 Printing issue

I was away for a family emergency for 7months went to print and nothing happend figured they dried out.  Replaced all ink,  Test print works on color but black is light color.  When I go to print a document it is all blank including color & black.

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve black not printing on your Photosmart 6525 printer.  If the steps there do not resolve the issue I would suggest you call HP Support as described in the post here, even if the printer is out of warranty.

  • HP Photosmart 7350 Printing Issue

I have the hp photosmart 7350 and now when I want to print something using 8.5 x 11 paper, the image or document is cut off on all sides, mostly on the bottom (vertical) or right side (horizontal)  I checked and the section where it shows the margins (page setup) is greyed out so I cant change the settings.  I tried the troubleshooting ( deskjet 990c driver, 7350 driver, and some other steps) nothing works.  Can anyone help me with this, or do I need a new printer ?

  • I have an iPad 2.  I cannot get it to print from our Hp photosmart 6525 printer.  Both Hp and apple say these machines can use AirPrint.  Can anyone help

I have an iPad 2 and cannot get it to print from our p photosmart 6525 printer.  Does anyone know how to get the AirPrint to work between these two machines?

    Hi,
As soon as the devices connected to your network the printer should appear as AirPrint.
You may ensure it is connected by clicking the wireless icon on the printer screen to locate its IP, then type the IP into Safari and check if you can access the printer homepage from your iPad.
If the printer conncted but still not being detected as AirPrint, ensure you have the latest firmware for your printer:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03312867&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en &product=5271613&tmp_track_link=ot_search
If the printer still not being dedected I would rather suspect the network as AirPrint uses Apple Bonjour and therefore require your network to support multicasting to operate..
You may test it by temporary setting direct connection using Wireless Direct, if the printer being detected without using the router please clarify your router brand and model to better understand your router capabiities.
The steps to enable Wireless Direct can be found listed below:

  • New Windows 8.1 computer will not recognize HP Photosmart 6525 Printer.

My father in law got a new computer that has Windows 8.0 and we upgraded it to 8.1.  I cannot get the computer to recognize the printer. I have downloaded the drivers and also tried to use the cd that came with the printer. While installing I get the message to connect the printer to the computer but its already connected by a usb cable. I have restarted the computer and also disconnected the cable and reconnected it multiple times.  I have also downloaded the HP Install Wizard and it still will not see the printer. I will try the HP scan doctor software later today.  The printer is HP Photosmart 6525. Is this printer compatible with Windows 8.1. Thanks!

Thank you for the response. This printer is supported on Windows 8.1, as indicated here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-108722-2&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
What loop is occurring when installing the software? If you can provide screenshots of the loop, or any error messages/code, that would be appreciated.
In all honestly, newer printers would have a better chance of working. Personally, I could suggest the Envy 4500 and 5530. I have attempted to install these printers on 8.1, and I witnessed no issues. However, the Photosmart 6525 is compatible with Windows 8.1. More troubleshooting may have to be attempted, before the issue is resolved.

  • How do make the photosmart 6525 print with airprint?

I got a Photosmart 6625 printer running on my home network and got the HP driver downloaded into my Windows XP desktop.
Printing from the PC wirelessly works, but how do I make the printer show up on iPhones and iPad as an "AirPrinter"?
Hitting the "select printer " icon on them gets a "no AirPrinters found" error. They are on the same network as the printer

    Glad it worked for you!

  • HP Photosmart 6520 printing issue

Put in new cartridges and went through the diagnostic and it won't print in black ink.    The print quality diagnostic reads no black in but it is new and just out of package.  Airway seems clear.

Just checking if the suggestion from @garytech1 solved the issue?

  • Hp photosmart d110 printer issues - connectivity

More often than not, I go to print wirelessly to this printer from one of our laptops and it will not print.
Whenever this happens and I run a wireless test, the printer is always fine.
The printer shows up in my devices window and appears to be fine.
Troubleshooting never results in an answer.
Usually when this happens, the print spooling window that shows the status of print jobs says the printer is offline.  I removed the checkmark beside 'use printer offline' last time this happened, and lo and behold it worked.  I'd tried that before to no avail, but thought maybe it was fixed once and for all this time.  Especially since I saw in another post that this fixed someone else's problem.
Tonight, it won't print, doesn't say anything about being offline, but just says 'error' in the status column.  No other info.
At the top of the list in the window where I can set as default, select to use offline, etc., the word 'connect' appears.  It is not an option... the word is greyed out where all the other words are in black type, and clicking on it has no effect.
I can always select the printer of course, the laptop sees it on the network and it appears normal until you try to print.
It doesn't seem to matter which laptop I use, I'm having this issue with both.  I also had similar issues with this printer using an entirely different wireless network and laptop.  So I don't think it's the laptop, OS, or anything with the network, just the printer itself.
Suggestions?  I wish there were a quick fix.  I'm beginning to think it's faulty.

    Hi SRS12,
Is you printer's Model # D110 a or b?  Here are some steps I take for a quick fix when a printer was working wirelessly and suddenly quit working.
Make sure the print queue is empty.  If you clear it or if it was already empty and you cannot print, take the next step.
Download and run the  HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows.  If there is no change, continue with step 3.
Reset your wireless network as described in the following link.  Click Here

  • Photosmart C7180 Printing Issue

So here's a strange one, my 9 month old Photosmart C7180 has developed a nasty habit of printing every other page in Landscape mode. I've been using the printer on a near daily basis for 9 months, but 2 days ago I started noticing this weird quirk when printing multiple page documents. I can't verify what may have triggered this (software or OS update) because it is possible that I haven't printed multiple page documents for a few weeks. I have checked for OS/App/Firmware updates and verified that I have the latest drivers and software. I have restarted both systems and reset the factory defaults for the printer.
I can print a single page in Portrait mode, but if I print 3 pages the 2nd page comes out in Landscape. I can print the 2nd page individually and it comes out fine. It happens whether I'm printing from Microsoft Word or even if using Microsoft Photo Editor or HP Photosmart software.
I am using the TCP/IP connection for printing from my Microsoft XP notebook (although I just verified that it happens when using Bluetooth as well).
Has anyone else experienced this or have any possible explanation for why it seems to be possesed?

  • Photosmart 6525 print problem

Have new 6525 which worked fine for first 3 weeks. Now when I send a job to print, it either doesn't print at all or will print 10 to 20 minutes later. The print dialog window shows its printing, but nothing happens. I'm using an iMac and wireless network.

What router?  What version of OS X?

  • Black only prints on Print Quality Diagnostic report - Photosmart 6525

I have a Photosmart 6525 printer.  On the 2nd page of a 2 page print, black rapidly faded out.  Cartridge only weeks old and printer ink level check showed it as nearly full.  I ran the Clean Printhead option which printed out a Print Quality Diagnostic when it was done.  All of the informational text printed perfectly but nothing in the black grey-scale box or in the alignment.  Still won't print or copy black.  **bleep**?

The informational text on the print quality page is printed with color and black inks, so that if one or the other is not working the print will still be visible.
I would suggest going through the troubleshooting steps in the document here.  Be sure to check the vents as described in that document.
Is your printer still in warranty? You can check with HP's warranty tool here.

  • Photosmart 6525- auto select tray

How do i get my photosmart 6525 printer to auto select the correct tray (main or photo) without having to go into preferences and manually switch it? I print on 4 x 6 for photos and then use regular 8 x 10 paper to print word documents.  Going into the settings to switch trays each time is frustrating.  Anyone have a solution?

    Hello jtj360 ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you would like to have the printer switch the print setting automatically.
This, unfortunately, is not an option.  You will have to change the print setting manually.
    Thanks for your time.

  • HP Photosmart 6525 connection error 403

I've been scanning to my email since I bought my printer which was in January.  Yesterday and today it tells me there is a problem connecting to the server.  Help!

    Hi RealtorLynn,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that when trying to use the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 6525 printer that you are getting a connection error.
Please start by setting a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for your printer.  I have included a link to another post I did that has the steps with screen shots.  Don’t worry that the screen shots are for the Photosmart 7510, the steps are the same.
Once the manual IP and DNS servers has been set, please check that your web services are still enabled as scan to email uses web services.  The easiest way to do this is to tap the ePrint ( ) icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen.  If it displays a summary or your printer’s ePrint email address then web services is running.  If requests to accept the terms of service, then web services will need to be set up again.
If your web services is enabled and the manual IP address and DNS servers have been set and you are still unable to scan to email, please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

  • Photosmart 6525 Autoconnection after Windows 8 machine awakes from sleep mode

I received a Photosmart 6525 printer a month ago and love it.  I initially had it connected to an HP Touchsmart computer and had no issues with it. I moved the printer to a new HP Omni 27 running Windows 8 this week (as well as upgrading my router to an Asus RT-N66R).  The printer is not currently attached to the Omni 27 via USB as the wireless set up tested fine and I printed various documents without issue. The computer and printer are on a power strip and arranged such that when the computer goes to sleep or is shut down, it powers down other items, one of which is the printer. When the printer was used with the Touchsmart computer (also connected wirelessly), it automatically reconnected itself to the wireless network when the Touchsmart came out of sleep mode.  I'm finding with the Omni 27, however, that when it comes out of sleep mode the printer's wireless connection light flashes and I have to manually enter the passphrase on the printer in order for it to reconnect to the network.  It does connect once I enter the passphrase.  I've tried reinstalling the printer a couple of times but it doesn't seemed to have corrected the issue.  I guess one alternative may be to move the power cord to a dedicated outlet that never powers down.  I'm not sure if anyone else has encountered this issue but would appreciate any thoughts.

I always recommend a direct connection to a wall outlet.  That should resolve the issue.  You can also turn off "Auto Off" from the front panel-->setup-->preferences.
