HP Photosmart AIO and Wireless

Morning all,
I have just purchased a HP Photosmart Premium AIO printer that has wireless connectivity. I set this printer up on my network and was able to run through the setup on a WinXP SP3 laptop with no issues, so printing wirelessly is working from the WinXP laptop. When I try to run through the setup on a Win7 laptop it never finds the printer in the wireless dialog.
Whats really weird is that when I ping the IP of the printer from the WinXP laptop it responds but when I ping it from the Win7 laptop it tells me destination host unreachable. Anyone have any similar issues with printing wirelessly from a Win7 PC?

What model number is your printer. Very unfortunately,HP decided to name several different printers Photosmart Premium.
Download and install this utility on your Win 7 machine. I think it will help us sort this out.

Hi Tomiwa,
You cannot print from the iPad to that printer. AirPrint and Bluetooth are completely different.
There may be apps you can buy that will enable using that printer, but that is not an ideal solution.
That particular printer has had many bad reviews, and is unreasonably expensive for its features. Considering that you just bought the printer, as well as its lack of AirPrint, I suggest you return it and buy a printer that supports AirPrint.

In order to print from your I-Pad or I-Phone you would need to be connected through wireless. Air Print works when your printer and device ( ipad or iphone) is connected to the same WI-FI network.

HP Photosmart series 7510 wireless printer issue

I have a HP Photosmart series 7510 wireless printer.
My laptop is an HP Pavillion Entertainment PC dv9700.
I am running Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2.
The printer stopped responding when I attempt to print something from the laptop, such as a web page or document. When I print a diagnostic page it goes and responds right away.
Any ideas of what I may try. When I set up a regular print job it just stays in the que and does not print.

I recommend Resetting your Printer first, to see if that helps.
Also, I recommend running HP's Print and Scan Doctor for Windows to search the driver and software to see if there are any issues.

Which type of connection you want to use ? Which tabs are you talking about ? I could not find full specs of your printer, how old is it ? Do you use a wireless network at home ? As mentioned above, I don't know your existing hardware therefore you need to check the book and select a suitable connection first.

I HAVE A HP PHOTOSMART C4700 AND I CANNOT CONNECT IT WITH MY IPAD 2 TO PRINT

I have Photosmart C4700 and want to print from IPad Air 2. Is my printer airprint? If not, is there a way to print from the Ipad or will I need to get a new printer? If I need a new printer...do you have a list of suggested printers that would be similar to the one I have that IS airprint. This printer is used in a cabin seasonally and the cost of replacing cartridges is a factor as we never use one up, but it dries out as the printer is off 8 mos of the year in cold climate. Thanks.

Your printer is not airprint enabled but you should be able to use the HP ePrint app on it.
The most straight forwad way to print wirelessly using the eprint app is to make sure that both the ipad and the printer are connected to the same wifi network.
Once this is complete, download the HP eprint app and print from within the app. Once everything is connected to the same network, you'll see your printer from within the app and be able to print to it.

5510 - prints via USB and wirelessly but can't print emails from ePrint on iphone

Just installed new Photosmart 5510. Prints fine via USB (main computer) and wirelessly (laptop) but I can't print anything from ePrint app on iPhone. HP ePrint Home & Biz works from iPhone but it doesn't have email printing function!

From your iPhone, printing email would be from Apple Airprint. With your email open, touch the action button and select Print. You might have to select the printer, but it should print fine at that point.
To send email to print by using ePrint, you would forward the email to the printer's ePrint email address. Have you registered the printer on www.eprintcenter.com?

My Photosmart B100 and my computer do not connect.

I had no trouble at all connecting to my Photosmart B100 via wireless connection and print on Sunday, but since yesterday, no luck. My printer is connected to the network (and provides an IP address), but my computer doesn't fine the printer. I have tried to re-install the driver but can't do so, because the computer doesn't find the printer on the network. What do I do?

USB and Wireless Together?

Just purchased Photosmart D110 printer. This is probably a very simple question, but can it run USB on one computer and wireless on another at the same time? One computer is a desktop with no wireless capability, the other is a laptop that runs almost exclusively wireless. Can both computers use the D110 without having to change the printer settings all the time?

I am having the same problem with a new LaserJet 100 colorMFP M175nw. When I initially set it up with Setup wizard, I selected the "USB" option, since that was how my old printer was hooked up to the computer. That worked fine and the printer works perfectly with my desktop. Now I can't figure out how to also set up the printer to be used wirelessly. I specifically bought this printer because I wanted to be able to Airprint from an ipad. I've tried several of the fixes listed on this website, but I'm not able to get a list of wireless networks to appear on the printer menu. I am using a Linksys wireless G router, which is hardwired to my desktop, but which I use to wirelessly access the internet with my laptop and ipad.
What is the best way to be able to use the printer with my both my desktop (non-wireless), laptop, and ipad (both wireless)? Can I leave the printer hardwired to my desktop with a USB AND connect the other devices wirelessly? If so, what is the best way for me to connect the printer to my router - wirelessly or wired? What steps do I need to take to do that and get the printer connected?

If windows Xp or later try this HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility
Veriify the printer firware and software up to date Go Here select your OS and verify
How your printer is connected to your computer USB, Wireless, Ethernet ,ETC)
if networked check the firware of the printer is the latest as well

"wired AND wireless" or is it "wired OR wireless"? using a C309a

I am setting up a C309a (also called a photosmart premium all in one) for a school. I got the wireless to work. That is, all is setup and I can print from a laptop using only a wireless connection. The school has a few desktop computers without wireless capability. Can I use the ethernet wired connection for those with in order to print from those desktops without losing my wireless capability on the laptops?

To be a little more specific, the HP Photosmart C309A can support either a LAN (wired) or a Wi-Fi (wireless) connection to the access-point or wireless-router. It does not support a LAN and Wi-Fi connection simultaneously. In fact, connecting the LAN cable to the printer disables the wireless connection.
It sounds like you've connected the C309A to the network wirelessly and that's fine.
As to whether the laptops and desktops are connected to the network via LAN or Wi-Fi, it doesn't matter to the printer. From the printer's point of view, it's just one network.
There's one more combination to talk about: you can connect to the C309A a single computer via USB while it's also connected to the network (either wired or wirelessly).
So at the risk of confusing everyone, you can connect some HP Inkjet printers "Wired (USB) and Wirelessly (Wi-Fi)" or "Wired (LAN) OR Wirelessly (Wi-Fi)".

I have my printer set up as wireless. This is fine for mobile devices like my tablets but only 50% of the time it works from my Windows 8.1 PC.
How do i change so it works for USB on PC and wireless for tablet etc?
I tried to resinstall set up cd as USB connection but everytime i keep getting errors and being asked to reinstall disk. It didnt work, so i set it back to wireless only

I understand you are looking to connect your Windows 8.1 computer to your Envy 4500 via USB connection, and keep the printer on the wireless network for your other devices. This method should work for you however, you may have better luck downloading and installing the printer for the USB connection through the download on our website opposed to using the installation disk.
Click here for the drivers, and run through the USB installation set up. Remember to only plug in the USB cable when the install asks you to connect it: HP Support - Software and Driver Downloads

Wired and Wireless sometimes work (mostly not) after update.

So I have an issue with my network connection. It sometimes works, sometimes doesn't (mostly doesn't). This is for both wired and wireless. This started to happen a couple of days ago after an update. I had not updated for about a month prior. Prior to the update I used WICD and it worked just fine with no problems. I have no exotic hardware (ipw2200 using its firmware, dell xps gen2 notebook) and I set up everything about 6 months ago based on all the wikis. I have a dlink dir-825 router. Both wired and wireless connections work in windows every boot so it's not hardware.
I've included as much info as possible... sorry for the length.
Things I've tried:
Removing the ! from the INTERFACES=(!eth0 !eth1) in rc.conf
Removing netfs from the daemons
all the hostnames match in hosts and rc.conf

Was able to boot this weekend and did an update which updated the kernel. Rebooted and there was no network. Rebooted again and no network... rebooted again and... had network!? I tried changing wicd to use dhclient only and did the triple reboot test again and it didn't change anything... randomly working network... same with dhcpcd.
So it appears to be a dhcp timeout issue however it makes no sense because before the update a couple weeks ago it was working every time with no hiccup. Am I not providing enough information that will aid in anyone helping me figure this out?
