HP Photosmart all in one c309a, trying to download driver/software for windows 7

I have a HP touchsmart 600PC windows 7 64bit AND a HP Photosmart Premium c309a printer/all in one. The Photosmart operating CD is not compatible with windows 7 so it said to go online to download the software and driver. I did this and the scanning and copy option didn't work. Sometimes things would print and sometimes they would not. I frequently got a message saying driver not installed. I uninstalled everything just to try again. I noticed on the website that it says it would have a basic and full feature driver. The only one available is the basic driver which I had already done, and with further attempts, noticed that the basic does not allow the scanner, copier, printer to function to it's full potential. The problem is, there is no full feature option on the page. What should I do? It says it is compatible but I am starting to wonder if I need to take the new printer back.

Did you upgrade this computer from Vista? If so, there is a patch to correct a similar issue. It is on the same page as the basic drivers.

Wireless Setup on HP Photosmart All in one (C309a) Printer

I have recently purchased a HP Photosmart Premium (c309a) All in one Printer and have had ongoing issues installing it with Wireless connectivity. The first of the problems are that while the printer itself initially detected the wireless router it drops this connection once in idle or on startup, and it does not automatically detect it the next time. Infact I have had to manualy input the SSID and WEP/WPA passphrase as it has more often than not been able to detect the router again by iteself. This is very painfull and a real turnoff. Secondly, when installing the provided SW the printer isn't detected when scanning for wireless devices and is not found when manually typing the SSID. This occurs even when the printer says it detects the router.
Troubleshooting - Where to start um.....ok I have done the obvious things - power cycle the printer, router and PC. No go. Also downloaded the latest SW from the HP website (as opposed to the CD provided) and resintalled - No go. Also disabled start up programs in msconfig and added the required exceptions and ports to the Firewall and resintalled - no go. The only thing I haven't tried is manually configuring the IP Address, Subnet on the printers advanced settings and matching it on the PC-Printer settings. I found this process ridiculously time consuming and frustrating and would hate to think what the average user would do in this case. Hardly a simple user friendly process. I have since reverted to connect via ethernet just to get it operational (and before I throw it out the window) nevertheless would appreciate some assistance as the wireless feature was one of the reasons I bought it in the first place.

I am using a Motorola SBG900 Wirless Surfboard Gateway - supplied with Bigpond Cable. It is set to be using WPA security and have never had a problem with it before whilst connecting any wireless devices such as a laptop, PDA etc.
My feeling is that the wireless functionality of this printer needs some serious work before the next release. And furthermore they should never have released it the way it is as it wouldn't pass 5% of user acceptance tests if using wireless. There are too many complaints on this forum and others about similar problems to suggest that I am not by myself here. Dissapointing considering this is the feature that would be at the top of the list of most purchasing this model. It lets down what could of been a vg printer.

The problem is the printer refuses to connect to the router now even after it connected a few days ago with no intervention. I have powered down both the router, PC, and printer without any luck yet. I will set the IP address manually first on the printer and see how it goes, then if it connects will see if the PC/router can see the printer during the SW install procedure which has failed >10 times to date.
For now I think I will stick with Ethernet as it is no doubt much faster anyway and will try the wirless setup again in a few days when my patience grows back. Does anyone know differences in speed between USB/Wireless/Ethernet? I know this is dependant on a number of things but just interested in ball park figures here.

5200 photosmart all-in-one problems printing with new dell computer running windows 8.1

have a photosmart C5280 all-in-one that I was using with a computer running windows XP, it worked fine. Bought a new computer running windows 8.1, printer not printing very well at all. It prints page after page of one or two lines of hyroglifics untile I cancelled print document to stop using up paper. I uninstalled printer software and reinstalled from HP web site software for running with windows 8.1 still not working.

I think this has got me printing again. I had to uninstall the full feature software and loaded the driver only. I could not get the full feature software to load completly so I loaded the driver only and this seem to work O.K. Thanks for the help.

On site BigFun.be video requires a plugin. Which plugin? I have tried to download Microsoft video player for Firefox 1.0.0.8 and it does not take or show up under plugins.

Am trying to download Calibre software for EBook management. Safari says can't download file. Why? How to fix?

I am trying to download E-Book management software (Calibre) on to my IPAD but Safari says download failed as Safari cannot download this file. Why is this. I would have thought this was a fairly straight forward procedure?

If you are talking about Calibre, there is no iOS version. There's an OSX version for Mac computers which are not the same as iPads. Any and all software that can run on the iPad can only be installed from the App Store.
You cannot download anything thorugh Safari and try to install it, it just doesn't work that way.
Addiionally as has been already been pointed out Calibre installs on your Computer, not the iPad. You manage ebooks on the Computer.

Error when trying to download Desktop Software for my 8700g

Hi Folks,
I am new to blackberry and these forums.
I have a 8700g. I am trying to download the 4.2 desktop software and after filling up the form i get this error.
You don't have permission to access "http://swdownload-us.rim.com.edgesuite.net/swdownloads/Desktop%20Software%20v4.2%20SP2%20(English).exe?" on this server.
Not sure wht could be the reason. Any inputs are welcome.

You can update your Desktop Manager to 4.5 or 4.6. You don't need to update your software on the Blackberry Handheld. Only if you want to use the newer features of the 4.5.0.81 which will work on the 8700g. If your carrier has not published the 4.5 Handheld OS, remember you will not get any support if you need to call your carriers Helpdesk and are running an OS that is currently not supported.

I assume you have tried everything here?
iPod: Cannot restore or update in iTunes with error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439
It doesn't mention 1442, but the same troubleshooting applies.
It wouldn't hurt to also try another available USB port on your machine and another sync cable if possible.
Lastly, try restoring the iPod on another PC or Mac running iTunes.
If you know of somebody with a PC running Windows XP still, ask them if you can download the reset utility and use it to reset the Shuffle.

Trying to download CCP Launcher for Windows

I am attempting to download the Win version of CCP launcher. I have been to the LWS site and cannot for the life of me find it. All I can see if legacy downloads in the downloads section. I have packaged mac software with the CCP launcher for mac (my predessor downloaded it form somewhere but he is gone) so it's not a licensing issue and I have serial numbers etc.
Can anyone please let me know where I can obtain this.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

If you've got broadband, I'd recommend [JDK 6.10 with netbeans|http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/netbeans.html]... (if you're on dial-up use it to shop for broadband;-) except I wouldn't recommend starting with the IDE (netbeans) just yet... I'd recommend following the instructions here to compile and execute the obligatory first java program HelloWorld.java at the command line.... Modern IDE's are complex beasts in there own right... and you want to learn Java, not Netbeans.

Hi , The Officejet 4630 will not work with 10.5 and lower, it is only compatible with 10.6 and above.
The only suggestion I can make will not likely be ideal, but you could email anything you want to print from the computer to the printer.
Each HP ePrint-enabled printer, such as the 6520, has its own unique email address. After you enable HP ePrint on your HP ePrint-enabled printer, you can print from your mobile or network-connected device by sending an email to your HP printer's email address. With HP ePrint, you can print from anywhere, at any time. If you can send an email, you can use HP ePrint. This blurb, and more information, can be found in the following HP Document, ePrint Product Specifications. As mentioned. This is likely not ideal, it really depends on how much printing you plan to do. If this is practical for you as a work around then mission accomplished, we found a solution, if not.... The only other options would be to consider taking the printer back and getting a different model that is compatible with 10.5, or upgrading the OS if that Mac can allow for an upgrade to 10.6. I know you'd rather not upgrade, but you might consider treating yourself, there are some nice new shiny Macs available.
