Hp photosmart b110 mavericks

I trust that you can help. I am trying to get my Photosmart B110a connected on wireless to my Macbook Pro operating under Mavericks 10.9.2
The printer is connected is to the network as I can log into it through my browser using the IP address and I can see everything about the printer and I have the full menu selection, it gives me ink level, confirms connection, bonjour is enabled including host name, status is shown as ready. This bring me to the conclusion that the computer is talking to the printer, Mavericks just does not seem to know that.
When I select System Preferences, click the + sign nothing comes up under the default section.
If I use IP option and I enter the IP address of the printer and I manually enter the IP address it comes back and tells me that it is HP Photosmart B110 series; then when I click Add it comes back and tells me "Unable to verify the printer on your network. Unable to connect to ???.???.?.? due to and error"
If I do add the printer it shows it being available but I am unable to print to it. I can nonetheless open the printer and I even get into the HP printer utilities, it gives me the correct device information, I caan print the test page, check levels all the things that the utility does. I am printing the quality diagnostics page as I am typing ( and it looks good).
Then when I try to print a document nothing happens and I get the error message unable to connect to printer.
I am really at my wits end with this.

Hi,
Try adding the printer using its IP adress, however change the Type into HP Jetdirect Socket and check if that may cause any difference and allow adding the printer for printing.
Additionally, be sure to clarify your router brand and model to better understand its Multicast capabilities which may affect Bonjour performance.

  • My photosmart B110 will not work with MAC OS 10.9.3

Hello, let me start by saying I have a mac with os 10.9.3. and a photosmart B110. I got the low on all inks  I refilled black because that is mainly what I need. Got a error message wrong cartridge. Checked HP website tried  reset printer system. After trying to print, got the printhead has failed message. What to do?

Hello charlottedk, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are having cartridge and printhead problems.  I would like to try and assist.
I would suggest performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend following the steps in this document on an 'Incompatible Print Cartridge' or 'Print Cartridge Problem' Message Displays on the Computer or P...

    Hi,
Try rebooting your router by unplugging its power for 30 seconds.
Once the router is up make sure to reboot the printer as well.
If you still cannot print after those steps you may try resetting the printing system:
*Be aware that resetting the printer system will remove any existing print queue and reset any customized driver settings.
Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences .
    Select Print & Scan.
Right-click (or Ctrl + click) your product in the Printers list in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system .
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type your user Name and Password .
Click OK . The printing system resets.
Now click the Plus sign, select the printer and try printing again.
As the issue only appear over the network please let me know your router brand and model if the issue persists after completing the steps above.

iMac is connected via wirelss to printer/scanner. All was working OK until update.

Assuming that the HP software is up-to-date, but still not working, have you tried Image Capture in the Applications folder. Does that work?

  • Photosmart B110 can ping but won't install

    Hi
I have a Photosmart B110 and have downloaded the lastest drivers and installed them on 2 laptops, one uses windows 7 and works fine and one uses XP pro and it won't install the printer!
I can ping the printer from the XP laptop but everytime I try and Add the device it says it can't find it by the ip address I put in which I get from the printer!  I have installed and de-installed the software about 5 times now and still nothing.
PLEASE HELP ANYONE this is crazy!

Just thought of another network option for XP that you may need to enable in order to communicate with other devices on the network.
    1. Open My Computer.
    2. Right-click on the My Documents folder.
    3. Select the Sharing and Security option.
    4. Click If you understand the security risks but want to share files without running the wizard, click here.
    5. Select the Just enable file sharing option.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Click to select the Share this folder on the network checkbox and the Allow network users to change my files checkbox. You can rename the shared folder if you choose.
    8. Click Apply to save changes and click OK to close the window.
    9. You may be prompted to reboot you computer. Click Reboot Now to reboot your computer.
    10. After the computer has restarted, click on the Start menu and navigate to the Control Panel.
    11. Click Network and Internet Connections.
    12. Click Network Connections.
    13. Select the Wireless Network Connection icon and right-click it.
    14. Select Properties.
    15. Click the Advanced tab.
    16. Select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection checkbox.
    17. Click OK to save the settings and close the window.
Let me know if this worked for you and thanks for trying.

  • Hp photosmart b110 fails, status says error-printing.

    1. HP Photosmart e-printer B110
    2. Windows Vista
    3. "Error-printing" in printer status
    4. No changes have been made
    Please help me!
When I try to print it fails and the status says error-printing. It also does not work when I e-mail the printer. Both printing from my laptop and by e-mail have worked previously. It now seems to be a bit random as to when it does or does not work, although I have noticed that it usually works just after I have turned my laptop on for a while and then stops working. I have run diagnostics on it (when it was definitely not working!) and it says that everything is tickety boo, which is really frustrating. I have been able to print a few things no problem at all, especially when I first installed the printer (the installation went perfectly well).
I admit that I am not that au fait with this sort of thing, so whilst I really appreciate any help, please can it be in a really plain and simple language! I would say imagine that you're talking to a child, but they would be able to fix this straight away!
Thank you in advance for any help, I am starting to go crazy, and almost wishing that I hadn't purchased a wireless! I am sure that it's me not understanding something - I really need it to work as I print a lot of documents.
    Thanks again

    Hi twickers,
Sounds like the printer is loosing the wireless signal to the router.
How far is the printer from the wireless router?
Can you move the printer closer to the router to see if this continues to happen?

  • Photosmart B110a & Mavericks - won't print after about two minutes...

Evening - I've been using the Photosmart B110a for a few years no problems at all with Windows XP, Windows 7 and more recently Windows 8 - I've recently bought an iMac that is running Mavericks, and it's not right.
It took me a while to install  it, but eventually got that sorted but now it simply hangs when I try to print to it. Now, and here's the thing, if i reboot the printer, or reboot my router (TalkTalk DSL-3780) the printer comes on line, the jobs in the queue print, I can get to the webpage for the printer and all seems ok.
But after about two minutes it "hangs" - for want of a better phrase. The print jobs queue up, the webpage hangs, and nothing happens until I reboot it.
Now whiles it's hanging, I can still ping the router from the terminal, but no response from any of the software - unti I reboot, and then only for a few minutes, and on the cycle goes.
It's still fine from the Windows machines not incidentally, it only seems to be doing this from the iMac.
The reboot fix is a solution of sorts, but it's obviously not ideal.
Reading the forums there have been lots of posts about scanning issues with Mavericks, but I've not got that far yet.
Could you advise one way or the other?
    Many thanks, Gary.

Hey @Wickers , I am really sorry i misunderstood the OS you are running.
We have exahusted all the troubleshooting steps HP has provided for this issue.  The only driver available is for 10.8 and lower.  Unfortunately this printer is not fully compatible with the new operating systems of Mac.  The only driver available is the apple update thats you you have already done, because HP doesnt have a driver,  we are very limitted in what we can do for this issue.
I suggest maybe trying a different printer driver such as HP Photosmart 5510d e-All-in-One Printer B111h/B111j Full Feature Software and Drivers.
For any further support at this point I would recommend calling the HP tech support via phone.

  • Regionalization Reset - Photosmart B110

Recently moved to Europe from the Middle East, with my HP Photosmart e-Wireless All-in-One B110b.  Old cartridges (HP178) ran out, but when I put the European equivalents in (HP364) I got an "Incompatible Ink" message.
Contacted HP Online Chat to request a "Regionalization Reset".  First, they insisted that I print a "10-tap test" with the old cartridges (impossible given they were empty).  Then, they emailed me to say that Region Reset wasn't possible on the B110.
Wrong!  When I spoke to HP UK - where I bought the cartridges, even though I live in France - by phone (0844 369 0369) they said that, provided I still had the old cartridges (even if they wouldn't print) they could get the information required from the printer support menu.
With their guidance, entered the support menu using the following sequence on the printer homescreen (Top Left-Top Right-Top Left-Top Left).  Then provided the following info from various menus: printer serial number, page count, ink cartridge serial nos (black, cyan, yellow, magenta), gather/scramble scheme.  They then gave me some codes to enter into a special menu. Success!
Many thanks to Bob Headrick (on this forum) and to Peter in Newcastle (HP Support UK) for all their help.

I am glad your issue was resolved .
For others with this issue you will need to Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". I suggest a phone call rather than using the chat function.  There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work.  HP's web page on the subject is here.

  • Scanning with HP Photosmart B110 doesn't work since upgrade to 10.6.5

I have a problem here on my HP Photosmart B110a: I can no longer scan via my iMac since I upgraded to 10.6.5. Same story on my MacBook Pro with 10.6.5
I do have an older MacBook still on 10.6.4 which can still scan, so it's clearly an issue in 10.6.5
This printer is a wireless printer, but I tried both via USB and wireless with the same result.
Anyone else with the same problem, and hopefully a solution?

Yes, I experienced this issue today, too
And it does not depend on having a USB or a wireless connection to the printer.
Until either HP or Apple (or someone else) comes out with a fix, the quickest workaround to scan should be to use the printed embedded browser controlled scanning-feature. Just browse to the IP-address (or local name) of your printer. Quite amazing, what this tiny piece of plastic has to offer ...
    Cheers!

  • Photosmart b110 paperfeed is 70% not taking a sheet of paper

    I recently bought a Photosmart B110a.
From the beginning it refuses to take the paper i 'll try to feed it.
It driving me nuts, I tried a lot of things to solve it, more sheets, less sheets, put it in upside down, blow some air between the sheets before putting them in, what else can I do ?
Do I need a certain quality of paper ?

    Hi,
That can be done easily using the Booklet feature of the printer driver.
Open the PDF in Adobe Reader, then clcik on File > Print.
    Click the Properties button.
Within the Layout tab check the radio option next to Booklet, you may keep the draw borders box checked or uncheck it as you prefer.

I've set up the printer correctly but was unable to print photos initially so I reinstalled the software which worked. I could use the options and printer properties functions once Id selected a photo, allowing me to resize pictures etc. And then after a while it just stopped! When I click print, nothing happens, the status bar comes up and disappears straight away whereas before it would tell me its sending the print to the printer and when I check the print que, there is nothing there. The only thing that happened was my internet disconnected for a little while and after it came back on, nothing worked? Surely everytime my internet disconnects I don't have to reinstall everything again???? Please help me
