HP Photosmart C3180 through USB won't connect (Windows 8 Embedded)

We have an HP Photosmart C3180 which works fine on either a laptop or other pc's with Windows 7, however when we try to install it on a Thin-client which has Windows 8 Embedded it can't find the printer when we use the installer package from the HP site. The installer will show the message to plug in the USB cable into the pc, but when we do it shows the connection is established but then after about 6 minutes it will fail. In the device manager we do get the printer shown as Other Device and shows that it needs to update its driver. (which wont work.)
I tried to manually add the driver after extracting the installer file but none of the inf. files allow me to install the correct driver. Or at least, thats what windows tells me

My HP Photosmart C3180 all-in-one printer (connected via USB) has worked fine up to now. Last night I installed the 10.5.7 update and now all the machine will print is a single line of text with the name of the Adobe postscript file, and then it continues to feed and output blank page after blank page without end.
I tried reinstalling my printer drivers. That did not fix it. It also keeps prompting me for an Adobe PDF file name each time I send a document to print.
I've tried printing PDFs, Word documents, web pages, etc., and I keep getting the same results.
Any suggestions about alternative drivers or are other people experiencing printer problems after the update?

I downloaded the 10.5.7 update on its own and reinstalled it. That seemed to fix the problem now. Don't use the "Check for Updates..." link in Finder.

You need to turn on Printer Sharing on both the PC and OS X. I can't help you on Vista but in OS X it's System Preferences - Sharing - check the Printer Sharing box.

USB won't connect to my iBook

I recently purchased an iPod Shuffle (2nd gen) and it won't connect to my first usb outlet of my iBook. If this helps, the iBook is a G3, late 2004 model. If I physically hold the cable in, then it pops up on iTunes, but the moment I release, it ejects it. However, it fits fine in the second outlet. Does anyone know what that's about?

Huh, well, that's too bad if that is the case. The thing is, when I first plugged it into the first outlet, it fit fine. It was just overnight that it stopped working. I'll get it looked at to see if it's plugged or something. It can't possibly be the cord itself, seeing as I just purchased it on the 27th.

Laptop sees Photosmart on network, but won't connect

I have a Pavilion dv4 with Windows 7. I have a Photosmart C4795. My printer used to be hooked up to my desktop, but my HP Desktop has crashed and it's trash. So now I'm trying to hook my laptop up to my printer on the network. For two days, I was able to connect and download with no problems, but my laptop would never print. Wouldn't even do a test page. Uninstalled and reinstalled at least 10 times. I ran the scan doctor and it said there was nothing wrong with my printer, but it wouldn't print a test page either. It then had me do an internal test page and that one work, so it diagnosed that the software was bad.
All of that was yesterday. NOW TODAY, I uninstalled and reinstalled the software. It's the most up to date software and drivers from the HP Support page. Now, my printer recognizes that the printer is on the network, but won't install the printer. It did the diagnostics, then brought up the screen where it showed my computer on the left, modem in the middle, printer on the right. It gets about halfway through setting it up, then quits and says it can't complete. I ran the scan doctor again and it says that the full software version is not installed. I JUST downloaded it from the website and installed it twice and it won't work. The version I download from the website is around 146mb, but when I download it from the scan doctor page, it's over 200 mb. I run that software and it is exactly the same.
I have tried to set it up via usb. It gets to the 7th of the 8 steps, then it won't go any further. Again, the printer is detected, but it says the appropriate drivers aren't there.
I have tried to set up it's own port using it's USB and a different driver, but that gives me an error. Unable to install printer. Operation could not be completed (error 0x000003eb).)
Would someone please help me, and then if I reply with what it is doing next, please respond?
Please help me get through this. Two days now and I don't have a solution.

I am looking to purchase the Photosmart Plus wireless All-in-one, and want to connect it to my home desktop computer via USB, and also to my existing wireless network (I already have a router set up) so my laptop can also print wirelessly. Is it possible to connect one computer to this printer via USB, and also have the printer connected to the wireless network at the same time?

New HP Photosmart Premium AIO (c309g) won't connect to network.

I just received my new HP Photosmart Premium C309g printer and I'm having trouble connecting to my home network. Everything else works fine but it just searches for ages looking for wireless routers and never comes up with any results. Even Wifi Protected setup just continues to search and doesn't come up with anything
I ran the network test report and it said Wireless On- PASS Wireless Working - FAIL. I've reinstalled all the software and nothing's working so help would be appreciated!

I would say the printer's radio is bad. Turn the printer off, unplug power from the back of the printer, wait 30 seconds, plug in and turn on.
Now, run the Wireless Network Test from the front panel. If it fails again, return the printer for a new one.

USB won't connect

When I connect my USB cord to my laptop to sync my iPhone 4 it has an error message saying "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)" I have reinstalled iTunes twice and uninstalled and reinstalled my USB! HELP!

Photosmart Plus B209a-m Won't connect to iPhone Hotspot

This is my first time to post. Hopefully, someone can help me. My friend is using a Verizon iPhone as a hotspot. He can connect 5 devices to the iPhone hotspot. When I attempted to connect his Photosmart Plus B209a-m to the hotspot, the laptop loses the wireless connection to the hotspot. The printer installation wizard gets to the point where it finds the SSID and I enter the security phrase. When the install process reaches about 40%, the his laptop loses the wireless connection.
The only way to reconnect the laptop to the iPhone is to disable the printer wireless radio or turn the printer off.
The hotspot uses WPA-PSK security. I noticed that when the wizard found the hotspot it showed WPA security not WPA-PSK.
Is there an update for the printer so that it can connect using WPA-PSK? I could not find one. Or is there something else that I need to do to make the printer connect to the iPhone hotspot.
I worked with Verizon support then with Apple support but since we can connect 2 laptops and a Smartphone to the hotspot, they say it is a printer issue.

Are you sure the hotspot uses WPA and not WPA2 (with or without the suffixes of PSK or AES is all the same)?
The printer will probably not connect to WPA2. Is there a way to change the iPhone encryption?
Actually, is there a way to remove the encryption altogether for testing purposes?

HP Photosmart premium C309g-m won't connect to the network

I am having problems with my printer connecting to my home network or wirelessly to the computer. This can happen when the printer has been idle for a while or when i switch it on and try and print straight away. restarting everything can sometimes make a different but not always!
It seems to be happening more and more frequently especially at those times when I need to scan or print desperatley!

Hi, I do have a few suggestions for you to try as well as a great document on trouble shooting "Maintain wireless Connection".
First thing I would like for you to try is, If you have the printer power cable connected to a power bar, please remove it from the bar and do a direct connection to a wall outlet. The unit has a built in serge protector and it will not get all the power it needs to function properly if it is in a Power bar. Number 2 thing to try is, move your router a few feet farther away from the printer. The way the signal comes off a router is like a upside down funnel and if the printer is to close than it does not read a wireless connection properly. The ideal distance is 6-20 feet. System claims HP Photosmart D110 is disconnected, won't connect

Windows 7x64. The "Guided Solutions" seem to be a dead end. The printer is supposed to be connected wirelessly. This has happened before, but I cannot remember what I did to make it recognize the connection. Very annoying. I wish I could use a reliable wired connection with this device.

Furthermore, the printer's Wireless Network Test Report says "No problems found", and the HP HOme Network Diagnostic Utility says "Your device is correctly communicating over your network", and prints a test page to prove it. But the Solution Center still claims the device is disconnected! And I cannot scan, either from the printer or from the Solution Center!

Switching WSUS server and Windows 8.1/Server2008/Server2012 clients won't connect, Windows 7/Server2003 is fine

I need to split the load of my WSUS on to another site because the amount of computers is straining the internet connection in the amount of uploads performed.
However I'm having an issue at the second WSUS where only Windows 7 and Server 2003 clients will update...
Windows 8.1 and Server 2008 and Server2012 won't update giving the following error codes: 8024400A and 80072EE2
The WSUS is a Server 2012 with Local Update Publisher 1.1 installed. It works fine locally at the site but not across our WAN.
The clients appear in the WSUS console but fail to check for updates.
I've tried it with the firewall turned off...
Both WSUS servers are using Microsoft SCEP 2012.
Has anyone out there experienced this? Or have any suggestions to fix?

I spoke too soon, I think I got one Windows 8 client to update yesterday by fluke. Now today it won't.
There's not much different between the W7 and W8 systems they both use the same antivirus. Same software but updated on W8.

[HP Photosmart D110a] Printer won't connect to network

Operating system: Mac OSX 10.6.8
I'm living in a dorm room and trying to wirelessly connect my printer to my computer. I can't connect my printer to my university's network because it's protected. Instead I've been connecting to my printer's SSID network. I go into Settings --> Wireless --> Wireless Settings --> Wireless Setup Wizard --> the printer scans for routers, and then the SSID name comes up in a list underneath my university's closed network. It's called HPD110a.7809C6.
I connect to it, it says it's connected, but then the Wireless light keeps flashing blue. I go back to the Wireless tab and it shows that it's connecting, connecting, connecting... and then there's no connection.
My printer was working a little while ago. It's been tempermental and has occasionally worked. But since the last time my roommate used it and turned it off, it's refused to connect to that SSID network and has thus refused to work. I think I solved the connectivity issue I had before by connecting it to the SSID network, but now it won't connect.
Things I've tried to combat this issue:
Restarted the printer, both by turning it off and turning it on manually, as well as pulling the plug out of the back while it was on (I've read in my search for an answer for this problem that doing that can help some issues?) and unplugging it while it was off and then restarting it
Continuously tried to reconnect to the SSID network
Tried to enter the printer's IP in my internet browser's address bar; nothing came up, since it isn't connected
Turned off the wireless in the Wireless Settings menu, then turned it back on a half hour later, then waited to see if it'd reconnect
Reset printer drivers
Updated my ePrint software and installed all availible HP product updates
I've printed out the Network Test multiple times, and each time it's said everything passes, but that I've had numerous disconnects and that the connection is low
I even moved a music player that was near my printer, thinking that maybe the metal was messing up the connection somehow (last resort)
Changed the empty ink cartridge (last resort)
I haven't tried restarting my computer, but I don't think that's what the problem is. My roommate's computer can't connect to the printer either (she's running OSX 10.8).
I have the printer in my Printer list twice in two seperate ways: One version is connected through the IP address, and the other is an option that appeared once while I was connected to the SSID network and just became a new printer. That one includes the scan option, but the first one doesn't. When I try to print something, the first printer says "Network host [IP ADDRESS] is busy.. will retry in 5/10/20/etc seconds..." and the second printer says "Printer offline."
The same thing happens with both whether I've gone into my Airport settings in the upper right and connected to the printer as a Device or not. It still shows my printer as a Device that I connect to, even though the printer itself says it's offline.
Additional informatiom:
I don't have a USB cable for my printer, so I haven't tried that yet.
At one point during all the re-setting and restarting, I saw the printer's IP address appear in the Wireless menu as the connected network, but it still wouldn't print at that time.
That's all the information I can think of in relation to this issue; if anyone needs to know anything else, let me know. Hopefully it's enough, and hopefully someone will have the answer to my problem.
Sorry if anything is confusing or frantic; I've been dealing with this for a few days now, and I've searched all the help forums I could and looked through as many HP documents as possible, but nothing has changed the situation. This is basically my last hope.

After just switching from Cable to FIOS, I had to get my HP C4580 wireless printer back online too.
What was important was that the Printer settings knew about the IP and port changes that are impacted from the new network and router from Verizon. How to do this is in your HP printer network setup manual and handled by their driver when its installed on the PC.
If all fails, try hooking up to your printer via an USB cable and start from there. Make sure everything works wired before trying again from a wireless setup. Youll end up with two printers in your Windows Printer choices, one for USB and one for Wireless, but thats no big deal.
