Hp photosmart c3180 wont work with windows 8 consumer preview

I have tried installing the printer but when i plug the usb in it just tells me that a printer is connected but I am unable to actually print any documents with it.

I've just managed to fix the problem. I think the issue was that when it was first plugged in via usb it didnt install correctly, so depsite recognising the printer it wouldnt allow me to print. I removed the device from 'printers and devices' and reinstalled the printer, it now works fine. thanks for your help.

I would like to buy a HP printer that works with Windows 8 preview.

Understand that HP will not release drivers for existing printers until August at earliest and that is OK....I have 3 HP Laserjet 1020s that have been great and will buy a new HP printer if it will work now with Windows 8 preview. Any suggestions or any fixes/patches for 1020 that work. Also interested in any non-HP printers that work with Windows 8 preview? Prefer HP but will buy first printer that works from any mfg. as I would like to give Windows 8 a real try. Believe HP is missing boat by not putting a patch out for some of their printers as soon as possible as I am not the only HP user looking to buy any printer that works with Windows 8.

Photosmart C3180 wont scan with Mountain Lion

Hello, I recently replaced a 2006 iMac using Lion with a mid 2010 model using 10.8.2. I'm very pleased but for the scanner/printer, a HP Photosmart C3180 which prints, but no longer scans. I am up to date with software. How can I make this work again? Many thanks, Art

I reset the printing system as suggested. I even shut down the computer and started it again. The same error message appeared. Curious as the Photosmart stll prints and photocopies.

Webcam on Equium A300D wont work with Windows live

The camera works fine, but when try to use it as webcam on Windows live it doesnt work.
This is new problem as has worked ok with Windows live in the past, and dont know why it wont work now.

Is there some error message or something?
When you have noticed this have you tried to roll back OS to earlier time when everything was OK?
Maybe some Microsoft update is responsible for this.

I'm having the same problem with Windows 7. I'm not sure what information I should post to make diagnosing this problem easier. (I'm not very tech savy.) I have a 16GB Itouch and I'm running the 10.4.1 version of Itunes. I've tried using Itunes' diagnostic tools but it just doesn't see my device. Any advice?

L7680 driver installation wont work with Windows 8.1

I recently bought a new HP Pavilion laptop and updated to windows 8.1 not long after the purchase. I tried to install my Officejet Pro L7680 all in one printer today and was unsuccessful on every attempt. The driver/software will download but when I attempt to install the software I get a message of "cannot find file specified". I called HP and spoke to a rep who informed me that my printer was too old and wasn't compatible with the Windows 8.1 system. He said there was no update available for my printer and basically I would have to buy a new printer. Bad answer!!!
The issue is a missing file from the Preload Drivers folder: Msiexec.exe
Please help me find a way to install my printer

Yes the anitivirus software could be causing issues.
I would make sure it is turned off during the installation.
Here is a url to temporarily disable all the start up programs to see if one of them is causing any issues.

hey guys.im new to this whole ipod thing and have been trying for 6 days to get itunes 7.6 to download but it wont!!! i have service pack 2 and im pretty sure i meet all the other erquirements. everytime i try to download it, my computer says it is "not a valid Win32 application." please help! i've tried everything!

Try deleting the temp files and then downloading iTunes again as described here:

after i updated my laptop to windows 8.1 my itunes has been acting wacky. It only plays music and wont reconized or sync my iphone 4s anymore. Installation CD wont work with windows 7

i have the drivers and the console launcher from the download section..
but
i want the THX setup console for the time alignment.
i put the disc in and it said the operating system is not supported.
i went to the THX console folder to run the setup and it gave me an error.
where or how am i supposed to get the THX setup console back?

the soundcard is an x-fi elite pro

the auxilery power tab is connected to the card.
i uninstalled the pax drivers, ran the driver sweeper tool, rolled back to the most recent non-beta drivers.
the spdif input is still greyed out.
creative support is simply going to have to send me a file that unlocks the feature again.
i suppose if there was any chance to install TRUE dvd audio .. that would warrant the necessity to re-enable the function.
i dont see any reason to install those drivers you are offering.
there doesnt appear to be any difference with the audio quality.
not only do i regret installing the drivers.. i feel stupid for leaving creative's side .. and i am being treated as such.
i do not need a pile of rubbish that aformentions the money i spent.
nvidia drivers are crapping out and causing problems.. here's to video problems.

HP LaserJet 6L won't work with Windows 8

Right I inherited this great little printer last year, it worked great with Windows 7 but now it wont work with Windows 8, it appears to be installed and the drivers are all up to date but when I use it to print a pile of random characters come out on the pages and doesn't stop. I've reinstalled it and installed it again and again every different way but it just doesn't work and HP says that it is compatible (there is a green tick beside it somewhere on your website). Could it be that I'm using a cable that is parallel at the printer end and USB at the computer end that is at fault?

I had the same problem, and fixed it.
Control Panel - Devices and Printers
Click on "Add a Printer"
Click on "The printer that I want isn't listed"
For USB connection, choose "Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings"
Pick an existing port. I use a cable that has LPT port at one end, USB at the other end. So my choice is USB001 (Virtual printer port for USB)
Now you see the list of manufacturers and models. Before doing anything, click on "Windows Update" and let it run (takes a few minutes)
Once the update is complete and you're back to the list of manufacturers and models, select HP as the model, and select HP LaserJet 6L as the printer. Without Windows Update, it will only show "HP LaserJet 6L PS Class Driver", which causes the problem. Stick to "HP LaserJet 6L"
The rest is straight forward. Print a test page and check if it comes out right. Good luck!!

my ipod nano (2nd generation) wont connect with windows or itunes, i used it last week (charged it through USB) then this week when i connect it (once again through USB) it wont work, it says "windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems" any help? ive made sure my itunes is up to date, done a reboot on my computer and ipod and still nothing..help please

This could either be a conflict with the iPod's docking port, the iPod's USB sync cable, or even the USB port you are plugging the iPod into on your PC. So the first thing I would try and do is plug the iPod into a different USB port on your PC. Make sure it's a high powered USB 2.0 port as they provide a higher power throughput than older USB ports or even the ones that are sometimes available on the front of the tower.
It might help to disconnected all other USB devices from the PC (minus the keyboard and mouse) and reboot the PC. Then reconnect the iPod once again.
If still no luck, swap out the cable with another known working cable to rule out the possibility of a damaged or faulty cable.
Lastly, plug the iPod into another PC to see if it's recognized there. If the same error appears on another machine, it's likely a hardware issue with the Nano meaning you'll want to have it serviced or replaced.

Secondary display does not work with Windows...

Ive been using a samsung syncmaster 920nw as my secondary display for the past few months. It works fine while running OS but when I switch over to Windows XP the display goes blank after startup. I have installed the proper drive and updated it whenever possible, but with no effect. I have tried to follow the troubleshooting prompts and pretty much everything else I could think of. Im out of ideas. I didnt buy the monitor to sit on my desk and take up space... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Still no luck... Has anyone else experienced this problem while running Windows through bootcamp? Is it possible there's a compatibility issue with XP vs. Vista? The display is new and bears the mark "Works with Windows Vista". Could that mean it wont work with XP? I obviously don't use Windows that often, but seeing as I purchased the monitor as a secondary display, it would be nice to be able to put it to use in Windows too. Thanks anybody...
