I have lost connection to HP c4780 printer. It seems to have happened after updating firefox. Connecting laptop directly by usb to printer works.

If the installed Firefox is from a legitimate source and if the OS is secure, you can be fairly confident that Firefox wouldn't and cannot change OS network settings and hardware settings. Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

- Try moving the backup file to a safe location so iTunes has to create an entire new one.. It is locate here and you may have to have show hiddn files turned on.

Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

Hi I also have this problem. Sound was only working on the headphones and also on the volume slider in the settings app. Everywhere else I get no sound and no volume slider. Now the headphones don't work either.
(I'm using an ipad 2 iOS 6.1.2)
And NO it's not muted. I've reset all settings and restarted the iPad. Been searching forums for a couple days. Some say its a dirty docking port problem, others suggest a Skype or other app update that could be the problem.

I've been through the exact same thing and cannot seem to get an answer here. When you go to Manage Storage, does it have something at the top like "19.1 GB of 25 GB available"? I only have a Mail account with 5.3 GB in it and a Backups account with 553 MB in it. Obviously, these don't add up to 19.1 GB. There was no change in any of these numbers when I deleted all the same files you mention. With the free Mobile Me storage expiring next month, this is something I'm pretty concerned about.

You cannot. It's not supported by Apple actually, so if you downgrade they cannot help you.
However, make sure that all your apps are not in a different page, so keep swiping to the left just in case they are hidden at a first glance.
You can use the App store app to download all your purchased items.

It means that the iPad has gone into recovery mode (all software has bugs, operating system updates don't always go smoothly). You will need to connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes by its cable, and that should recognise the iPad and let you reset it back to factory defaults - you can then restore to you backup, or just resent your content to it.

Photosmart C4780 cannot connect to wireless network

My Photosmart C4780 was working just fine, wirelessly, and now I cannot print unless I connect it to my laptop or desktop via the usb cord. I am running Mac OSX 10.9 with the Mavricks downloaded on both computers. I was able to print from my Mac Mini, iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air all without issue but now my Wirless Network Test Report says I fail "Network Name (SSID) Found". The HP Network Configuration Page says my Netowrk Status is Offline and my Active Connection Type is None but I can see my network listed under Number of 802.11 networks discovered. I believe I just need to connect or reconnect the printer to the network but I can't find how to do that anywhere on the help site. Can anyone tell me how to connect my printer to my network now? When I first installed it onto the network I didn't have OSX 10.9 with Mavricks so the installation CD worked just fine but not it won't work either. One more thing, when I try using the screen on the printer and go through the WIFI Protected Setup both Push Button and PIN fail. HELP PLEASE.....

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems connecting your printer wirelessly.
I have included a document with steps on how to change the printer from a USB connection to a wireless connection. It has a subsection for Mac OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion/OS X v10.9 Mavericks. The second option in this section is how to change from the an existing USB connection.

Photosmart C4780 - Prints extra page even after HP driver update installed

With Mavericks (OS X 10.9.4) installed, I have noticed that completed print jobs remain in the print queue for my HP Photosmart C4780 when printing from Safari and Preview. If I want to print another (different page), I usually have to delete the previous (100% complete) job from the queue so that the printer will print (I seem to recall that sometimes, with a Google Chrome browser, this is not necessary). If I close my MacBook Pro's lid (which puts it to sleep) with a completed print job remaining in the HP queue, it will then print again for a second time.
Today, I installed the driver update below, but the problem did not go away when I tried to print from Safari and Preview.

Any ideas of how to solve my problem?

Sure - restart your router, your printer and your Mac. It should print faster (especially with a router restart).

Lost connection at laptop boot

i have a home hub 3 connected to openreach box and everything has been working fine for the last 8 months or so.
i now have a problem and cant figure out any solution.
the hub shows 3 blue lights, great. i connect my phone and it works fine with the wi-fi, i connect my wifes phone and again everything is fine, i connect my tablet and everything runs smoothly.
i then turn on my laptop (the same one i have been using for about 2 years) and the broadband light goes orange and nothing will connect to the internet.
i phoned the tech line and got some great help, (turn everything off and on, press reset on openreach box, press restart on hh, hard reset hh, surprise surprise it still doesnt work, ok sir i cant find a fault so an engineer will take a look at the green box on the street in the next 48 hrs.) wtf how is looking at the cabinet going to sort this out, did you not hear me say everything is fine until i turn on my laptop.
anyway i have since tried to update my wireless card driver, turn off the wi-fi switch on the laptop, uninstall the wireless card and use a different wireless card but i still get the same problem.
connection is fine
boot up laptop
broadband light turns orange
put laptop in sleep mode
connection is fine
wake up laptop
broadband light turns orange
turn hh off and on
broadband light still orange
turn laptop off
connection fine
someone please help there is only so much i can do on a tablet and need my laptop connected

If its a Windows Vista laptop, then visit the manufacturers website, and see if there are any updates, as Windows Update does not usually find them.
This suggestion by forum member gg30340, may fix the problem.
Select Start
In the Start Search field type ncpa.cpl and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
In the new window, right-click on your Wireless Network Connection and select Properties.
In the This connection uses the following items section, remove the tick beside (i.e. disable) Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and then press OK.
Left click on Internet Protocol IPV4, click on properties. Check the options to obtain IP address and DNS Server address automatically.
The other thing to do, is to see if it does the same thing if you connect the laptop using an Ethernet cable.

Drop off wifi connection more frequently after update to iOS 5.1

After the system updated to iOS 5.1, the wifi connection on my iPhone 4S drops off more freqently than before. For example, when I updated Galaxy on Fire 2, the wifi lost connection about 5 times. But the connection on my Android tablet and laptop is completely fine.
Did anyone experience the same ?

Check again your list of activated keyboards and make sure only English is there. Then tap the English item once and make sure that it is set to qwerty and not qwertz or azerty under the Software category.
If you have a "globe" key on your keyboard, you have NOT gotten rid of the non-English ones from your setting.
