HP PhotoSmart C7280 - Shared printer issue

I am running a Server (Windows Server 2008 R2) and a handful of clients (Win 7 64/32, Vista 64/32) and i can go on each computer and install the driver by adding a TCP/IP port of the IP address or hostname and it will work fine on any computer, however when I set it up on the server, it works fine when printing from the server, but when I take the printer, and set it up as a shared printer (for Active Directory support) it will share fine and the clients will install the shared printer fine, but when I print to the shared printer from the clients it will print, however at random points in the document it will just stop printing (finish feeding the paper through, without any more ink applied to the paper) and this really appears to be random as to when, as I have had documents that nearly finish and i have had documents that barely start to print.

  • I have a HP Pavilion dv 2000 laptop and an HP Photosmart C7280 wireless printer.

I have an HP Pavilllion dv2000 laptop and an HP Photosmart C7280 wireless printer. They have worked well together until I reformatted and added Windows 7 on the laptop. I went online and downloaded the Windows 7 Printer Wizard. It recognizes my printer and says it has been installed. I have followed their directions and plugged USB cable into printer from laptop.  It prints that way. How can I get this to print wirelessly?

  • Just sick to death of shared printing issues

I have two printers connected to my G4 server upstairs.
I have an iMac and an iBook.
The iBook can print to the IP4000 printer no problem, but if I try and print to the IP3000 I get a message about I have selected the wrong paper size. I have not, everything is set to A4 as is should be.
From the iMac I can print to the IP3000 no problem, however from Microsoftw word when I select print, the programme crashes. I frequently get issues in other apps about error printing.
On the G4 server I installed both printers just the once, yet after a few weeks there are loads of duplicates in the print/Fax pref, ip4000 then 1-ip4000 repeated 10 times, same for the IP3000.
No one appears to have an answer, I cannot make head nor tail of CUPs, or the console.
Please someone help! I thought shared printing was easy, how wrong I was!

i was told by the engineer from where i live i should get between 3 and 4mb,i have only moved up the road from where i was living before,i'll post those stats to you now, thanks for your help.

  • Powerbook Printing to a WinXP PC with Shared printer issue

I've recently made the switch for my laptop to a Powerbook G4 and am very very happy with it. There is only one thing that I cannot seem to get working though.
I have a Canon i950 Photo Printer hooked up to my desktop XP machine via USB and have it shared for network use. When I try to print to it over the network with my Powerbook, no matter what I try the text is always comicly small to the point that it is unreadable... picture a full page of text printed into the top corner of the page, scaled down.
When I connect the i950 directly to the powerbook with USB, it prints perfectly and I've got no issues. It appears that it uses a different driver for local printing as opposed to network printing.
Does anyone know of anything I can try to resolve this?

I dont have an airport express, but the thought did
cross my mind to pick one of those up. I'm not
familiar though how an XP machine would connect to
    the Airport Express though.

  • Shared Printer Issues

Printer is shared on the network by a IP so I can add the printer but cannot print a test page successfully. I get a message which says windows cannot print the page succuessfully.
I ran the hp diagnostic and it found the printer but couldn't diagnoise my issue. Also ran windows troubleshooting that tool didn't find anything also .
When printing test pages pages get stuck in the print queue and restarting the print queue doesn't solve the issue.

Try to run the print and scan doctor and see if that helps.

  • Nas shared printer issue

    Hi All,
I have a USB Brother printer HL 2030 shared on the network by a QNAP NAS , via Bonjour.
I am able to install the printer on Yosemite . It is shown as Brother (AirPrint).
When I try to print anything , the printer "prints" many white pages until the tray is empty.
Same behaviour with Maverick (clean installation).
I am able to print correctly from a Windows PC on the same printer.
If I connect the printer directly on the IMac USB port , printing is ok.
Any idea to solve this strange case?
    Thanks

One router is wireless and is used as the dhcp server, but the wireless is turned off. The other is also dhcp, but I'm not sure how to turn the router portion off. smc 7004br. Thanks

  • Windows 7 and HP Photosmart C7280

I am replacing a laptop with xp with a laptop with Windows 7.  Cannot get my HP Photosmart C7280 to print wirelessly from the new laptop Windows 7.  The printer disk says it is not supported by Windows 7 - what do I do?

That's because there are no Windows 7 drivers on your disc.  It was likely printed before Win7 was released.

  • Spooler.exe tries to communicate with shared printer on TCP:47546 port

    Hi,
    We have:
    1. AD
    2. Win7 Pro Workstations
    3. Symantec Endpoint Protection - allowed only SMB ports (135,137,138,139,445), denied all other communications incl broadcast.
    4. WS2 - computer with shared printer
Issue: As I can see in WS1 SEP Logs spooler.exe tries to communicate with WS2 on the TCP:47546 port. SEP blocks those communications and shared printer stays "grayed". The solution I found is to restart spooler. Sometimes it helps
Why does it happen? What should I do to force spooler to comunicate on standard SMB ports?
UPD: Printer shared and as \\WS2\Printer and as \\IP\printer - in both cases the issue persists

    Hi,
I am Chetan Savade from Symantec Technical Support Team.
You can either add printer to excluded host.
To add the printer to "Excluded Hosts":
    1.  Open your Intrusion Prevention Policy.
    2.  Choose to Settings on the left.
    3.  Check the box for Enable excluded hosts and then click the
    Excluded Hosts... button.
    4.  Add the IP address of your printer and choose Okay.
Can refer the following article to create remote port exception.

  • I have an hp photosmart c7280 all-in-one series printer won't print. error message, system problem

I have an HP Photosmart All-in-One C7280 series printer/fax/copier/scanner. I have been having issues with printing for the past few weeks. It is a wireless printer, with a jack into the wall (for fax) and it is plugged into a power source. I never used to have issues with it before, but recently, it won't print when I send a document to it to print. It will print its configuration pages, reports, etc if I select them from the Printer's menu but not when I send a doc to it to print. First it was saying it was offline, but I figured out how to override that by operating as an administrator and selecting "Use Printer Online" from the dropdown menu when I right clicked on the printer from the control panel. But now it says "Error: Printer failed to print document. System error".
Noooo clue what to do now. This is the only color printer we have so we kind of need it to work. We bought this printer off the shelf at a office store (before I started working here) and so we don't have any designated technichians to work on it. I asked the guy who services our Image Runner Copier to look at it but he had no clue what was wrong with it. Hopefully someone can help?

    goestherain,
I need to know what operating system you are using to helps narrow troubleshooting a bit, what OS are you running?

  • HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one problem printing. Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy--

I'm having a problem printing on my HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One. The following message is what came up on the printer screen: Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy, receive faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation Error O.cl9a0007.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Hey Spider! First off welcome to the forum.
I would recommend removing all the ink cartridges, unplugging the USB cable from the computer that connects to the printer, and then shutting the printer off completely by removing the power cord. Then restart your computer. Turn the printer back on but leave it disconnected from the computer. After it has finished its power on cycle go ahead and insert the ink cartridges back into the printer and be sure to seat them properly.
After you have all the cartridges back in the printer properly then connect it to the computer. See if this resolves the issue. If not post back with any findings.
    Thanks,
    SeanS

  • HP Photosmart C7280 Power issue with flashing lights

I have seen many posts on the web regarding flashing lights and incorrect shut downs.
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-printing-questions/Photosmart-C5180-Power-Up-Power-Down-Problem-L...
I have tried everything including the "*,#" with "1,2,3" to reset the printer and I have the power cord plugged into a direct outlet, not a power strip, and nothing works.  Even if I do get the printer reset and it works, shortly later the lights will start flashing again and I see a blue screen with a power button symbol and some varying code (00729C98) - it varies each time.  It flashes after a short time even if I power down correctly - all on its own if plugged in.  Is there a defect with faulty part on the control board?  If so who do I take it to to get it fixed?  The printer is less than 2 years old.

I recently had the same problem with an HP Photosmart C7280, the same model as yours. I eventually managed to get through to HP Technical Support, and they advised that the unit would have to be replaced. I think if you call through, you can get a refurbished model for a cheaper rate.
Before calling technical support, I tried all the steps that have been recommended in various posts, but nothing helped. To the best of my knowledge - and I really tried to get my printer working - the unit is dead.
(Although this is an old post, I came across it when trying to fix the same issue. So, hopefully this will help anyone else who stumbles upon this post. Some other codes my printer showed on the HP "blue screen of death" were B83FCB56, B0075110 and B02BAEC3.)

  • Since I installed Mountain Lion operating system, I cannot print.  I have a HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one printer.  I get a message when I try to update the software "Server not available  The software update service is currently not available."

After installing Mountain Lion, my printer doesn't work.  I know it is connected as it shows up,  The message is:
"The printer software was installed incorrectly.  Please reinstall the software for this printer or conact the anufacturer for assistance."
I used the disk that came with the printer as when I go to the HP site, it tells me that Apple has the drivers needed.  I unistalled the printer and reistalled.  Previously, I just went to the HP website an everything worked fine for drivers, program, etc.  I never had to use the CD that came with the printer.  My printer is:  HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one, it is wireless, but I even took the computer and plugged it into the printer to make sure that everything was connected.  Can someone please help me to get this working,
    Thank you,
