Hello all, We bought our granddaughter an HP Photosmart E-317 digital camera and we are having problems with it shutting itself off when ever it wants to .  Does any one know how to fix this problem or why it does it?  At first we thought it was trying to save the batteries but it would do it just as she is trying to take a picture.  Any help would be appreciated.  I can't find a section with HP that covers it's camera's.

  • Photosmart E317 Camera - Memory Card

There is clearly a lack of available information about the E317 and although it is older  - it is still quite suitable for our particular need. I want to increase the memory but am finding it difficult locating a memory card.
At the moment the card is- HP128MB Secure Digital Memory L1873A
What type of card can I now purchase and from where can it be purchased? (Ontario Canada)
    Many thanks

i have an HP E317 camera. i replaced the current memory card HP 64MB with an PNY 32GB memory card. i entered the current date and time and the E317 would not accept it (yes). is this because my E317 camera will not work with a PNY 32GB memory card? if so , what memory card can i get which will work on this camera.

  • Is HP Photosmart E317 compatible with Windows 7?

Is HP Photosmart E317 compatible with Windows 7? How to download pictures from the camera?

    Hi,
Do you use memory card on your camera or only internal memory ?
    (a) For memory card: pull out the card and put to the computer card reader, it will turn up as a drive and you can copy photos around,
    (b) For internal memory: you can use the USB cable which comes with the camera but it may not turn up in Windows 7. One option is to buy a memory card, move photos from internal memory to the memory card to it then back to (a) above.

  • Hp PhotoSmart C618 Camera Power On problems?

I just got a used Hp PhotoSmart C618 Camera, and when I put new batteries in, and tried to turn it on, it would not turn on. The power light flashed, but the camera did not turn on.  I looked at the batteries and double checked to make sure they were installed correctly, and they were.  Still will not turn on.  What if anything can I do about it?

    Welcome to the forums @SkipBleecker
I saw your post about the power not turning on when you changed the batteries in your Photosmart C618 Camera.
My best suggestion would be to try reseating the batteries (removing them and reinstalling them), or trying a new batteries again.
If the power still does not come on, call HP directly to see what your options are.

  • Hp photosmart 120 camera and new computer compatiblity

I picked up a used hp photosmart 120 camera with a card and a USB cable (no software or instructions) and I hope it will work with my Laptop with windows 8.1
I have never used a digital camera before but it is making pictures in the video screen on the backside of the camera. I do not know if software is required or if I can just plug in the USB cable into the laptop.
I saw that the downloadable software didn't include windows 8.1
    Thanks

  • HP Photosmart E337 - Camera is not recognized by Windows 7 Pro x64

I'm trying to connect an HP Photosmart E337 to my computer (HP Pro 3120MT with Windows 7 x64). I get an popup "New hardware detected" but the installation of the driver fails. When I try to update the drivers in device manager I get this error message.
I tried to uninstall the drivers, the software but it's impossible to get the camera connected. Is this camera supported on Windows 7 or is Windows Vista the latest supported OS?
Is there a known issue with this camera and Windows 7?

GoAdvisedIT, I cannot translate the words in your image you posted.
    Question:
Do you need to connect the camera only to add the images to the computer?
If so, I prefer not to do this and is considered a no no amongst professional photographers. Take the CF or SD card out and attach the card to the computer using a card reader. It will save potential problems and battery life of the camera. Then it wont matter if the camera will not work on Windows 7.
If you still need to connect the camera you can try installing the Vista driver using Compatibility Mode. Sometimes it will work, sometimes not.
    How to use compatability mode
Right click on the Driver (downloaded from HP) and select Properties.
You can choose to run the program in Windows XP/Vista compatibility mode.
Tick the box “Run as Administrator”.
Do not connect the camera to the USB port yet until finished or prompted to.
Let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi,
When it syas unsupported card it means unsupported card. What is the brand, type and size of the card ? Can you use smaller capacity card(s) ? Many older cameras do not support high capacity, higher speed card form example the Nikon D50 DSLR camera, it only supports cards to 2GB.

  • Connecting an HP photosmart R967 camera

    Hey Guys,
I got this HP camera that i need to connect and synchronize with my macbook, but when connected on iPhoto it shows no images though i have about 177 photos on it! Is it because the photos are on the SD card not the camera memory? or is there a plug-in that i should download for my camera? (i don't think it needs a plug-in since the iPhoto recognizes the camera)

I have managed to do this following these links but ONLY with the USB connection.
I have not been able to connect through wireless or to set up the scanner even through USB.
HP does not seem to have ready a utility to manage the printer from Yosemite and from my exploration of this website I don't think there is a solution that works.

If anyone knows how to set up the wireless connection I would be very grateful.
The printer is on the net, everything is fine in that respect but the Mac is unable to find it due to "an error".

  • Hp photosmart 315 camera

I have a Photosmart 315 digital camera and need updated software that will work with windows 7--I only have the orginal software which only works with windows xp. Where can I get software?

    Hello cocomoore,
I see you are looking for software to connect your HP 315 to a Windows 7 computer.
Unfortunately there is no updated drivers for that model camera as it is a very early model.
The best solution instead is to use a Card Reader to upload your images with.
Pull the CF card out of the camera and insert it into a Card Reader. It will show up in Computer as another drive. Open that drive (CF card) and it will probably have a folder call DCIM. IF it does, that is where your images will be stored.
This is one example of a card reader that plugs into any USB port. They are usually very inexpensive and can be purchased online or at most variety/electronic stores. Walmart if in the USA for example.

  • HP Photosmart R837 Camera

I installed snow leopard and connected the camera, iphoto opens but it does not show the pictures on the camera, it open before with 10.5, it does not recognize the camera now with the new OS, downloaded drivers for the camera and no luck, it open pictures if I insert the SD card in slot, any idea? Thank You

Hi, I did the SL upgrade, and my Casio Exlim does the same thing. It kick off iphoto, but the camera never shows up, not even as a drive. Something is amiss! I'm not using any software or drivers, and it worked from OSX until now...

  • Need windows 7 driver for photosmart 720 camera

I have an HPphotosmart 720 camera and I tried to download a windows 7 driver but it wasn't listed as a choice.  Does anyone know how I can make this upgrade?

    Hi,
You are talking abot a 12years old camera here. Why do you need driver ? It uses SD card, you can simply pull the card out and put it to a card reader on your computer to do whatever you want. Nowadays, all phones can take photos, thousands of very cheap cameras around.
Unless vendors want to close their business, I don't think they would spend money to support old products. FYI, I bought a Nikon D50 early 2006, it couldn't read cards over 2GB, I know a firmware will fix it but no news from Nikon. I bought a Nikon D90 early 2010 and today (yes few minutes ago) I've discovered it won't read cards over 32Gb.
    Regards.
ps I have to buy Nikon to be able to reuse may other accessories.

  • Photosmart M525 Camera will only boot in "Review" mode. Can'ttake pictures

Problem started today.  I had to remove the SD card to transfer photos to my laptop since I left the cord at home.  When I restarted the camera, it will only start in "Review" mode.  The lens does not extend from the body, and I have been unsuccessful in getting the camera to do anything except review pictures and vids taken with it.  I also noticed that when you go into the setup menu, every time you go to the time and date option, the camera turns itself off.  Any suggestions for me to try?  I switched out to new batteries, removed the sd card again and made sure the contacts were clean, etc. Thanks for any help.  Roy

Remove all your hard drives and follow my advice in the post above, you'll have some shopping to do most likely.
If you can't boot with the system stripped down, and a hard drive doesn't have to be present, come back and look at it again.
In the meantime, try that, and while at it, try Apple Hardware Test too.
We are not mind readers, but a good backup and system maintenance plan, and test your backup and maintenance - make sure you and your backup can be used to restore your system.
Yes, you need to install or CLONE your drive to another drive.
You should NOT use a drive that won't boot normally, that has possible trouble with software drivers, programs, extensions, or other elements. Pick up Alsoft Disk Warrior. Use 10.5 DVD (it is not an upgrade, it is a full install DVD). Disk Utility => RESTORE and you can clone, or use SuperDuper or CCC.
In 4 yrs most people upgrade hardware, more/new RAM, video card, PCIe cards...
