Help with HP Photosmart M627 Camera
I have the program Windows 7 - I am unable to view video taken with my HP Photosmart Digital Camera M627.  It is an older camera ( 2007 ) compatable with Windows XP.
I have audio, but no picture ( video )
I can download and view still photos without problems.
I have tried to view video using Photo Gallery, Movie Maker and Windows Media.
Is there a Driver or any Software available to download in order to have video on using Windows 7 ?
I do not have Windows XP

Hi,
Please try the following software:
   http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
It will play nearly all video formats.

  • HP Photosmart M627 Digital Camera Software Installation CD Compatible w/Windows 7

I switched from Windows XP to Windows 7 over a year ago, and the HP Photosmart M627 Digital Camera (Model L2420A) and the software CD originally installed was incompatible with Windows 7. Therefore, I haven't been able to upload pics from my camera to my computer to store and/or customize.
I have tried other photography software programs, however, I definitely prefer the software designed to work with my camera. Can anyone instruct on how to navigate the website (HP) to locate the same? Thanks in advance!

  • HP Photosmart R507 Digital Camera driver for windows7

i want driver for HP Photosmart R507 Digital Camera  for windows7. i have dic driver only fro xp windows

    Hello jmitsis,
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I understand you are looking for Windows 7 drivers for your camera. Unfortunately, there are only drivers for Vista and XP, as indicated here: HP Photosmart R507 Digital Camera Drivers
You can try installing a Vista driver, and see if that works. You can also try running the software in compatibility mode. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

  • HP Photosmart M525 Digital Camera

Purchased a replacement camera for old M525 , believed I was ordering same exact one. When new camera arrived my old UBS cord doesn't fit new camera. New camera is HP Photosmart M525 / Model : SNPRB-0503 . Could someone please give me suggestion of which UBS cord is compatible with this or an item number of compatible cord.  Thank you!

    Hi Britney,
All I could find for you was this spec sheet. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c00821556
It mentions a USB 2.0 cable for the requirements - so it should fit the standard ones, like the kind you need for a printer. However, just to be safe, I would recommend that you take the camera to a local electronics store, and buy a usb cable knowing for sure that it'll be compatible with the slot
    Cheers,

The batteries drain very quickly. Using high capacity 2700mAh NiMH batteries with intelligent charger.
Can only take 5-10 shots with flash with fully charged batteries. Earlier I could take more than 50 shots
    before the batteries drained.
What could be the reason? Tried several brands of batteries with the same result.
    Is there any Firmware update?
    Can anyone help?

    Hello Farrukhs,
Please follow the below mentioned URL or link that will assist you to resolve the issue:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00614986&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=90099
However, if that does not resolve the issue, then it could be due to the camera hardware in which case you may have to replace the same. Repairing it usually is expensive and not an economic choice.
Hope this will provide you with some input regarding the issue that you are experiencing.
    Sincerely,
    Assistant.

  • HP Photosmart R847 Digital Camera

I've been very happy w/ my camera but now it won't come on when I lower the shutter door.  I've made sure that it's fully charged, just unplugged it from an overnight charge.  I've never had a problem with it until now.  BTW, the little blue light is on which usually indicates that it's charged.  With this particular camera the froint sides down for viewing on the opposite side, when you slide this door into down position that's when the camera is normally working and you can see the subject you're trying to photograph.  In this case, when I pull the shutter door down, nothing lights up for viewing and yet the blue light is on.  Please don't tell me to buy a new camera, I really like this one and can't afford another thing at this time.

    Hello Lou,
I do not have your model camera so I need to make sure how it works.
The specs say the lens has 3x zoom capability. If so the lens physically extends from the camera when zoomed, correct?
Did this happened after you recharged the battery? Is it possible that the camera was left on causing the battery to die before you recharged it?
IF this happened, the lens did not retract all the way and will not let the camera turn on.
Also, if there is any dust down inside the grooves of the lens, this can also cause the lens to not close all the way.
Take the batteries and memory card out, leave the battery door open and let it sit for at least 20 minutes to fully discharge the capacitors.
Next, carefully try to push the lens back in all the way (Do not push on the glass).
Reinsert the memory card and batteries and turn it on.
If no joy, take the battery and card out again. Try to carefully push on the lens again. You may have to tap the sides a little to get the safety switch to connect with the lens inside.
Also you can cut a piece of paper to insert in around the groove of the lens and swipe around the lens shaft to loosen any debris that may be lodged at the base.
Then re-insert the battery and memory card, make sure the memory door, battery door and lens door cover are fully shut and turn the camera back on.
If none of this works, then I am sorry to say that camera is considered old now and its possible something else inside has went wrong. It most likely won't be cost effective to have it worked on at a shop.

  • HP Photosmart R707 Digital Camera

Hi, I still use the R707 camera I purchased years ago.  I upgraded my computer to Win 7 and it indicates I need ADMIN RIGHTS to install the HP software. Is there an HP download, driver or something else that can be installed to override this annoyance?  (the Win 7 issue is a big problem and almost unsolvable - tried it many different ways via microsoft).
    Thanks!!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You'll have to contact HP to see what software it requires. A card reader is, IMO, the optimal method of uploading from the camera to iPhoto as the method works with any camera that has a removable media card.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

I am having trouble opening any album that I saved (.albm) says I have to "enable writing to the file by changing it's properties".....can't figure out how to do that  or what that actually means.  I now have windows 7. that may be what is screwing things up.

    Hi 9gramma2,
I understand you are having difficulty opening your .albm files as you are getting a message that says "enable writing to the file by changing its properties". Try the following:
Click the Windows button in the bottom left corner of your desktop, and then click Computer.
Locate the file or folder you are interested in viewing. Right-click on the file or folder, and then click Properties.
Click the Security tab, and then select the group or user you want any changes to apply to.
You will see a list of current permissions listed below. To edit, click the Edit button, and check the boxes to allow permissions for everything.
Try opening the file or folder.
I hope these steps are of help to you. The very best of luck to you. Have a wonderful day.

    Hi,
When it syas unsupported card it means unsupported card. What is the brand, type and size of the card ? Can you use smaller capacity card(s) ? Many older cameras do not support high capacity, higher speed card form example the Nikon D50 DSLR camera, it only supports cards to 2GB.

  • Videos won't download properly from my digital camera

I recently bought a 7.2 megapixel digital camera and on any of the video settings that I record a video, the videos don't import properly into iPhoto. The thumbnail in iPhoto is just a black square and it shows the length of the video in seconds. when I click on it to play in quicktime, all i see is a white screen. In the Finder, the thumbnail is a white box. In QuickTime, the sound works fine, just no images. Any ideas???

    Hi Mich 64elle,
check your camera specs and see what the file type is of the video clips.
How long are your video clips?
Have you tried using Image Capture and see if the clips download correctly?
Using Image Capture to download images and video clips:
Open up Image Capture which is found in the Applications folder.
When it is opened, go to Image Capture/Preferences
    Under the General button choose
Camera: When a camera is connected, open Image Capture.
The next time you connect your camera Image Capture will open.
In the window that opens you will see an Options button. Click on that button to set your options.
To find out more about Image Capture (it can do a lot more) Click on Help in the menu bar when Image Capture is open.
iPhoto: How to Change the "Open Automatically" Preference
I just got a new Canon S2 IS. It can take a video for as long as you have a card that can hold it. I don't use iPhoto to download from from camera. I use Image Capture and have no problems. The file type of the videos is AVI

  • Please, please bring out a Zen Vision:M with integrated digital camera!

Is there some chance to contact the development division of creative and ask for a Zen Vision:M with integrated digital camera? there are mobiles out there with 0 Megapixel cameras and they don?t have a 30 GB disk space.
There would be nothing better then have this nice Vision:M mp3 player with an integrated camera..
one additional use for Vision:M besides using for listining to mp3 is to keep and carry around photos with it anyways.. so why don?t they bring it our with camera? wouldn?t need to take photos with another devise, transfer these photos to the pc/mac and then transfer them back on Vision:M.... just carrying aroung one devise would be so much better... but I guess that is also some marketing stuff... first sell this generation of Vision:M, and then wait some time and come out with the new generation of players, with finally integrated camera... or maybe just wait, until ipod brings them out first... anyways, I really don?t see a technical problem for this...
Olympus m:robe 500 put a mp3 camera on the market a couple of years ago, though it can't really compete with Vision:M on the mp3 player part.
    any comments from anyone?

I actually disagree, reason being that when you take into account the cameras that are build into the phones they are at most adequate, 2MP is the current theme (at least in UK I think). The option/settings/tweeks with the phone cameras is poor when you look at it, stand alone digital cams offer better features compared with phone digicams, then you have the power too, to dri've a good camera if you have one then you know required decent batteries, storage (ok you have a hard dri've so that is sorted) but take into consideration that you will always get better results with a digicam than phone cameras and you can see that would be a waste of time for the time being.
There is an old saying "Jack of all trades, Master of none" and this seemes to hold true to the phone cameras. Don't get me wrong it would be nice to have it only and only if you have all the features of the stand alone one with big resolution and so on, heck I have a Nokia 6230 and like it very much but my old 3.2MP Cannon (by all means not the best and not the newest?in the world) gives me far better/superior results than the the one on the phone even can. What would be cool to have is a port where you can hook them both up and use the Mp3 players HDD to store (I know you can on some Creative players) your snaps without having to buy or have attachments, just plug a mini USB and you are off. Technology as always moves forward and an astonishing reate and new gadgets?come out?and quality improves, battery life lengthens and so on, so we might even see this happen. Ttill the time where they are on par with most consumer digicams?I will be?witholding in buying one.Message Edited by RobertM on 03-0-20062:57 PM

I just bought a new Canon Powershot S3 IS digital camera.
I haven't used it yet, just opened the box.
It comes with a CD, "Digital Camera Solutions" that they say

My question is this: do I really need this program?
Or can iPhoto take care of downloading my pictures?
I don't really want to install something that I don't need.

If you<ve only got pictures on that memory card, then I suggest trying to use a program like gtkam (if using GNOME) or digikam (if using KDE) or something similar to download the pictures.
I doubt that you could mount your camera as a partition, since the kernel doesn<t recognize a partition table on the device.

  • Digital camera/printer-scanner connection to iPhoto

I recently purchased an iMac with iPhoto 08. I have an HP R707 Photosmart digital camera that iPhoto won't recognize. I followed the instructions in the iPhoto tutorial but iPhoto will not recognize the camera as a source and, in fact, freezes up. I have to Force Quit the application. A friend suggested getting a card reader. I looked on the Apple site and the first thing that popped up was an HP Photosmart printer/scanner with media readers. Well, I already have one connected to the iMac. The HP Photosmart C4180 All-in-one. I open iPhoto and insert the digital medium in the HP slot and try to download to iPhoto, but the HP tells me I need some software. What software? Why won't my camera connect? I'd actually prefer to use the printer/scanner since you can do more with it. Any assistance will be appreciated.

  • Help me find the right digital camera for my wife for Christmas!

    Hi guys,
I have been scouring Best Buy for days trying to figure out which digital camera to go with.  My wife wants a new one for Christmas, but she doesn't want a traditional point and shoot setup, nor a full DSLR (simply becuase I can't afford it!). Plus, my budget is $200-$300.
I've been looking at a factory refurbished Olympus SP-800UZ model for $230 in the outlet center, but I'm not sure if it's a good camera or not.
So, any ideas of which camera to get her?
She wants something with over 12 MP, something with a nice zoom, and something that has the look and feel of a DSLR.
Any suggestions in my price range?  Thanks!

As to the specific camera you mentioned - yes, it's excellent. Note the Lens Focal Length(s), 35mm equivalent 28-840mm and the 30x optical zoom. Impressive for the price range. You could stop here and be satisfied, assuming you added a memory card since it only has 2mb of internal memory. (don't worry, they are cheap, this one takes SD only).
Still, I would consider what I said above, take a quick look before going the 'Refurbished' route.
