Hp photosmart plus b210e wont align

I have a HP Photosmart Plus B210e printer that I havent used in about a year. I just moved an pluged it up and tried to allign the printer. It wouldnt allign so I turned it off and unplugged it for about a minute and plugged it back up. I tried it again and it would go all the way till about 20 seconds was left on the allignment and then it would say failed. Any ideas on why it wont allign or what I need to do?

Hi @JustinKeeter , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you are experiencing alignment issues.  I would like to help!
I would recommend removing the ink cartridges from the printer, and perform a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would then suggest following the steps found in this document:
Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Photosmart Plus e-All-in-One

I have the HP Photosmart Plus B210e but cannot get it to connect to my Verizon Fios Router which is an Actiontex M1424-WR.   The printer finds the router name and I enter the WEP key, but it does not connect.   The Diagnostics Summary listed No Filtering status as FAIL.   I logged into my router and verified that no MAC Filtering is enabled.   I have two laptops that have no problem connecting to the router.

Odd that a hard-reboot was required.  THis worked for me, too.  Thanks for the post!

  • Photosmart Plus B210e Not Found

I have a B210e that is connected wirelessly to my router.  All too frequently, the printer cannot be accessed by computers on my home network.  This is not OS related, as I have the same issue with OSX 10.6, Windows 7 Pro SP1 64bit, Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit, Windows XP Pro SP3 32bit and openSUSE 12.1 x86_64. The router has a listing for the printer in its client table, every time I investigate this issue.  And even when the computers cannot print through the router, they CAN ePrint!!  Yes, I have a workaround.  But it seems entirely illogical that I cannot print "directly" to the printer, but yet I can ePrint.  And it is terribly inconvenient to wait for the timeout to pop up the print error, to then have to open email to ePrint the document!
I have updated firmware and software on all computers, router and B210e.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled HP software on at least the XP machine.  I have also switched from dynamic IP to static for the printer.  I have also tweaked the wireless connection limit on the FIOS Actiontec router to 10 thinking that recent iPod and iPhone WiFi additions to the router client table were maxing this limit.  None of these measures has in itself, or in combination, prevented the condition from recurring.
Does anyone have a solution here?

This is not for your exact problem, but: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02986958&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en#N1042
I recommend setting a static IP address for the router using this method:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

I am glad I could help.  I hope you do not have too many of these to print - while the strips are reusable it could get a bit tiring if there are many to print .

HP Photosmart Plus stopped printing without any warning bells/error messages. Changed the black ink cartridge, used the clean and allign tools...alignment failed is the error messge I get and it still won't print.

    Hi @jmfmls,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP Photosmart Plus will not print and the alignment failed. I am happy to help you with these issues!
For further assistance, I will need to know some more information:
The Product/Model Number of your printer. Follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.

  • Photosmart Plus B209 printout doesn't match screen

I always have a problem when printing out images with my HP Photosmart Plus B209 All in One.  For instance, I make 2 in x 2 in images for passport photos.  I create the images in a digital editing program in a 2x2 size and then drop them into MS Word for printout.  On the screen, the picture size shows as 2 in x 2 in, but when I print it out, the picture is closer to 2 1/16 inches x 2 1/16 inches.  And if I print a borderless 8.5 in x 11 in and the image has a frame, often either one of the sides or the bottom of the frame is cut off some.  I have tried Scaling, Not Scaling, Fit Image to Page, Print 100%.  I also have this problem with Microsoft Publisher when printing a banner.  Although the Print Preview shows perfect alignment, when I print them out they don't quite match.  Does anyone know what I might be able to do to fix this problem?  I always do a scan and alignment when I change my cartridges and the quality of the print is great, but it just doesn't seem to print at the right size.  It's not off by much, but enough to ruin the effect of certain images.  I'd appreciate any feedback that someone can give me on this.  Thanks so much.

Page 7 of the manual only references WPA and not WPA2.  I did search the manual for mention of WPA2 and did not find any.  This indicates it does not support WPA2, so this could be an issue.  However, this typically does not prevent the printer from seeing the network but only connecting to it.
While the wireless radio is more than likely functioning, it may be best to confirm it is working since it is not seeing the SSID.  Go to setup>network> wireless network test.
Does it show anything as failed?  If so, what items are marked?

  • Hp photosmart plus driver no longer working

Hi all I have a photosmart plus came with an hp computer bundle used to work.  Now every time I go to try and make it work the following happens while installing the driver.
a the driver installatiion stops/never completes
b the driver installation can not see the wireless network or the printer when i plug in the usb cable, even though the computer sees the printer through the usb port and I can print through the usb port.
This is on 2 computers the same crap I have no idea what to do.  I can not get the drivers to install and the only way I can print is by physically plugging the printer to a computer via usb and letting windows find it.
Please help this is a giant pain in the ass.

Sorry, I should have asked this earlier, what version of Windows are you using?
Since I don't want to waste too much more of your time with you waiting for me to reply, I will go ahead and give you two links of troubleshooting steps that I would recommend trying.
The Progress Bar on the Software Installation Stops or Stalls
'Device Setup Failed to Complete' or 'Unknown Device' Message Displays on the Computer in Windows Du...
The first one addresses the issue of the software not completing. The second, even though the title might not seem like an issue that you are having, addresses the issue of the printer not being recognized by USB.
Try those and let me know if either of them work. If they don't, get back to me with your version of Windows and I will see if I can find anything else to help you resolve your issue.
If I have been helpful or if you’d like to say thanks you can click the white star under my name to give me Kudos.  I really appreciate it!

  • Is there any way to print a photo from my iphone on plain paper on my photosmart plus printer?

Whenever I try to use Airprint to print a photo from my iPhone to my Photosmart Plus printer, it tries to print it on photo paper from the photo paper tray.
I want it to print on the plain paper in the regular tray.
I read online where this is possible with the iPrint app - but when I went to the App Store, there is no iPrint App.  I found a sticky post here saying that it has been removed from the App Store in anticipation of a new ePrint Home & Business version that won't be available everywhere until September.
So, in the meantime, is there anyway to change the location of where the photos from the iPhone print?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    HI
Most likely their is not, as printing pictures is standard set to photopaper as you most likely need good quality. Pictures on normal paper are not considered good quaity and thus not set as standard.

  • How Do I Share a Photosmart Plus B209a Between Windows 7 and Windows 8 Computers?

I have a Photosmart Plus B209a I have been using with a pair of Windows 7 laptops. I use the HP Solution Center (blue icon) to interface with it.
I recently bought an HP Windows 8.1 laptop. The Solution Center doesn't work on it. The HP printer support site says I need to uninstall the Windows 7 Solution Center (blue icon) and replace it with the Windows 8 (gray icon) version.
Will this make my printer only work with the Windows 8.1 machine? I want to print and scan from all of my computers without having to uninstall/reinstall version 7/version 8.1 Support Centers.
This is a joint Windows 7 / Windows 8.1 question. I can't see a way to select two operating systems.

    Hi,
You don't need to reinstall any software on the existing machine(s). You only need to install software and drivers for NEW machine(s) or any old machine after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 for THAT machine.
    Regards.

  • How do I scan from my hp photosmart plus e-All-In-one B210 series printer

  • [Solved] Hp-setup cannot find my HP Photosmart Plus printer

    Hi all,
I'm trying to set up my HP Photosmart Plus printer. I have an Arch desktop acting as the CUPS server, which I ssh into from my laptop. I've gone through the CUPS installation and linux - linux sharing instructions. When I try to set up the printer through the CUPS web interface, it easily detects and adds my printer. I can access it from my laptop and print stuff fine. However, it will only print out:
**** Unable to open the initial device, quitting.
I discovered that the printer should instead be set up using hp-setup. Running hp-check -t gives this.
Running hp-check --fix prompts to reinstall the printer through hp-setup, and so it removes the printer from CUPS and starts hp-setup -i.
When I select "net" for the connection type (my printer is wireless), it can't find my printer, even though the standard CUPS interface had no problem with this.

  • My Photosmart Plus printer seems to lose connectivity when in sleep mode, how can I fix this?

My new photosmart plus appears to loose it's connection when it goes to sleep. At least the printers status page online says it's not connected, even though it is visible in my router and the blue light next to the antenna of the printer is on. It also appears to be connected when I poke around in the printer's settings, but if I want to print something from an app or via e-mail I have to run the wireless wizard again, select my netgear and enter the password. Once connected I get a screen where I supposedly can skip printing a report, but that does not work either, it prints no matter what I select, waste of paper and ink.
I searched around but found no solution that would work for me.
    Tech info:
wireless conection to my cable modem with Netgear router
Macbook pro and an older HP laptop are in use.
    Security is WPA2-PSK [AES]
I like the machine a lot, but this is rather anoying, what can I do to keep the connection when the printer sleeps?
    (edited to add security info)

    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.

    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)

  • I can not print a PDF from a HP Photosmart Plus B210A.  HP says its is a Adobe problem and Adoble says it is not there problem

I am unable to print a PDF file from a HP Photosmart Plus B210a.  I contacted HP and they say because the printer does print word docs etc. the printer cannot be the cause of the problem.  This is from the Top Level Support team.  When contacting Adobe, they say that not being able to print their PDF files is not there problem but HP's.
Another call to HP and they now say it is Apple's problem.
I am in the middle and still can't print a PDF file.  When trying to do so, it doesn't print and I receive no error messages.  Just nothing.  My serial number is

Does anyone have a suggestion, or do I just throw out HP?

Try opening the PDF in Preview and see if it will print out of it.
