Hp photosmart plus printer will not copy or print in black ink

HP Photo Smart Plus will not print black.  I can get other colors to print. I have used print Doctor to diagnose and
could not find a problem. I did get printer to print black and all colors on test page. When printing  I do not get a error message other than a red x.  I have also tried a different ink cartidge  with no results.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I see you are not able to print in black ink on your HP Photosmart Plus B210a.
I would like you to continue here: Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages, I understand you may have done some of these steps already but I need you to complete all steps in order to resolve the missing black issue you are experiencing.
Please note: There are three printhead cleaning stages. Complete all three stages if necessary. If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last (third) cleaning stage to start the first stage of the cleaning process over again.
If you are still unable to print in black ink, I suspect the issue may be the printer and not the cartridge. I highly recommend you call our technical support at 800-474-6836.     Hp Photosmart D110 all in one printer--I am totally disgusted with this printer...have had it a few months.  It will only get about 160 economy pages per ink cartridge which is ridiculous.  So we bought an ink refill kit and just refilled and reinstalled the black ink cartridge.  it is printing from the computer just fine but the printer WILL NOT COPY.  When I use the tool box and check ink levels it just shows question marks on both ink cartridges.
          I spent 45 minutes on HP Chat Support and got no answers except that I need to use genuine HP Cartridges. They could not explain to me why the printer would print but not copy with refilled cartridge.
        Any help from any of you regarding the NOT copying and the ink cartridges.....thanks so much

  • HP Photosmart Plus B209 - will not print photos - tray is not picking up the paper

    The printer will not grab the photo paper when I attempt to print a picture.  It works just fine when printing other things, such as text from WORD or something from the internet.  Photo paper says "single sheet feed" on it, so I place one sheet in the tray.
    Any ideas?  Am I doing something incorrectly?  Thanks

    I understand that you are having an issue with the photo tray picking up the paper. I will try my best to help you with this problem. In this document for The All-in-One Does Not Pick Up or Feed Paper From the Photo Tray there are several steps to resolve this issue.

  • 3512 all in one printer will not copy

    Installed new ink, both color and black. Cleaned print heads and still get broken copy results with light print and white lines  going horizontally through the words.

    Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand you are running into some copy issues with your HP Deskjet 3512,  you have installed new ink and cleaned the printheads but are still getting poor copy quality.  You have light prints and white lines going horizontally through the words.
    First, I would like you to go ahead and perform a Hard Reset:
    1. Unplug all cables and memory cards from the printer. Unplug the power cord, directly from the back of the printer while the printer is still turned on.
    2. Unplug the other end of the cord from the power source.
    3. If there is a power module on the power cord, disconnect one end and reconnect it.
    4. After 60 seconds, plug the cord directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector or battery backup as they can cause the printer to lose basic functionality over time).
    5. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
    6. The printer should automatically power back up. If it doesn't, turn it on with the power button.
    7. Try making a photocopy (if your printer is an all-in-on printer) before connecting any other cables to the printer.
    8. Connect any other needed cables to the printer.

  • HP Photosmart 5515 software will not connect the printer to my laptop

    hp photosmart 5515 printer is connected to my router but will not install on my laptop which is running windows 7 64 bit.  I have tried installing wilrelessly and with usb but nothing will work.   The printer wireless connections are all fine.  Test prints from laptop and printer all work, I just can't install the software drivers completely,  I can add printers ip address or name but it just goes back to same page.
    I reciently moved house and before it was working. I can even print via iphone but not from laptop

  • HP D110 printer will not compete its print job.

    The last while I have been having a problem with a printing Adobe pdf pages.  When I have a two page document the second page prints first (like always) and it prints the complete page.  When it starts on page one, it will quit any where between about a third of the page and three quarters of the page.  It will not print the complete page.  I have reinstalled the printer, it has new (HP) ink.  Does anyone have an idea on how to fix, other than get a new printer?

    I don't believe the wireless connection becomes weaker, but it certainly sounds like the wireless is the root cause.
    Let's leave the router on and unplug the power cable (NOTE: Do not reset the router.),  then do the same with the printer, and shut down the computer. After a full minute, plug the router back in, wait for it to fully power up, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid. Once both the router and printer are on, go ahead and turn the computer back on. Doing this will refresh the network connection.

  • My printer will not let me print landscape orientation.

    Although I set the print parameters, I am unable to print landscape.  I ran the HP print diagnostics and all seems okay.

    No-one can help you if you don't provide any information...
    What is your operating system?
    What is your Reader version?
    What means "will not let me"???

    If you are trying to enable Web Services and register your printer on http://www.eprintcenter.com, you should be able to add the printer code to your account.
    If this code is coming back as invalid, you may need to remove/disable Web Services (some printers say "Restore Factory Settings") under the Setup > Web Services Menu > Restore Factory Settings.
    After doing this, go back to Setup > Web Services Menu and follow the prompts enable Web Services again. After doing this you should have a new sheet that prints with "HP ePrint mobile printing" as the title and a new printer code under step 2.
    If you have any other questions reply to this post and I will try to find an answer for you.

  • Hp f4440 all in one printer will not copy or scan

    My F4440 all in one has suddenly stopped working.  The on light blinks constantly and the little orange light at the front of the printer blinks as well.  I have unplugged it from all electricity several times and checked all connections.  No luck.  Any ideas what I should do next?

    Thanks a lot for the question, now lets get you an answer!
    I see you are experiencing a "run time error" when trying to run your printer assistant after installing the HP 1510 software drivers.
    Here is a description of what a run time error is. Microsoft Run Time Error
    This might be because you have an outdated operating system, anti-virus blocking etc. Please take some time to follow the 3 step procedure to see if that fixes the issue.
    Here is also a separate way to download the drivers from the web instead of a disk. Just click the appropriate link - Install / Uninstall software & drivers

    Oh... the Cloud is not supported on WinXP, so it would seem that you do not have an Adobe problem, you have a printer or WinXP problem

    Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand that your HP Photosmart 2410xi printer will not copy. I am happy to help!  When you make a copy with the printer, and lift the lid during the process. Do you see a light come on, and the scanner bar move?  In the meantime, I would recommend to do a hard reset, by going to this post, How to perform a Hard Reset, by . It is important that the printer's power cable is plugged directly into the wall outlet, and not a surge protector. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well. Try the copy again. I would also make sure, that you are using Genuine HP Ink Cartridges, and that none of the Cartridges are empty or low. Hope this information is helpful!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus will not copy even after hard reset

    HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus on Windows 8 OS 
    Will print from computer; will scan documents & save to computer; will NOT copy document on the unit.
    Shut down printer; unplugged from wall and back of unit; held on/off button for 60 seconds; plugged back in; started unit.
    Placed document on glass; hit copy; hit black; Unit pulls sheet of paper; unit scans document (squeaks while scanning); after period of time, it spits out paper & reads "copy cancelled", but does not clear or return to home screen.
