HP Photosmart Plus Printing

I have an a iPhone 3GS and would like to print using a WIFI enabled HP Photosmart Plus B209a-m. What do I need to do?
I have searched the phone for printer settings and found none.

see if your printer is compatible http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
if it is troubleshooting http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/airprint/
if it isn't then you would need a 3rd party app, and search the app store.

  • Is there any way to print a photo from my iphone on plain paper on my photosmart plus printer?

Whenever I try to use Airprint to print a photo from my iPhone to my Photosmart Plus printer, it tries to print it on photo paper from the photo paper tray.
I want it to print on the plain paper in the regular tray.
I read online where this is possible with the iPrint app - but when I went to the App Store, there is no iPrint App.  I found a sticky post here saying that it has been removed from the App Store in anticipation of a new ePrint Home & Business version that won't be available everywhere until September.
So, in the meantime, is there anyway to change the location of where the photos from the iPhone print?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    HI
Most likely their is not, as printing pictures is standard set to photopaper as you most likely need good quality. Pictures on normal paper are not considered good quaity and thus not set as standard.

  • [Solved] Hp-setup cannot find my HP Photosmart Plus printer

    Hi all,
I'm trying to set up my HP Photosmart Plus printer. I have an Arch desktop acting as the CUPS server, which I ssh into from my laptop. I've gone through the CUPS installation and linux - linux sharing instructions. When I try to set up the printer through the CUPS web interface, it easily detects and adds my printer. I can access it from my laptop and print stuff fine. However, it will only print out:
**** Unable to open the initial device, quitting.
I discovered that the printer should instead be set up using hp-setup. Running hp-check -t gives this.
Running hp-check --fix prompts to reinstall the printer through hp-setup, and so it removes the printer from CUPS and starts hp-setup -i.
When I select "net" for the connection type (my printer is wireless), it can't find my printer, even though the standard CUPS interface had no problem with this.

  • How to set photosmart plus printer to print automatic printables only in black

Hi im trying to see if there is a way to set my Photosmart plus printer to print my app printables only in black ink

I am going to assume here actually that this may not be a possible task.  I know it seems it would conserve ink but even most all black-only pages are made of composite black which is derived by a combination of all the colors to give it a sharper image or it will appear dull.
Plus, the option for black only is found in the print driver when printing directly from a PC.  The printer itself does not seem to have that option in the device menu/tools.  Some models do have ink-saving options in their eco-mode settings, but (from memory anyway) I do not think this is one of those models.
If there truly is a setting for it, then it will be found in the printer's web page.  Open a web-browser and type in the printer's IP address (available on the network configuration page  "IPv4") and explore the settings in here.  I have my doubts but it is always worth a try to at least point you in the right direction.
The manufacturer of the app usually sets the perimeters for these functions so if there was such an option you would find that on the app's page at the hpconnected/eprint website.  A lot of apps provide a section for suggestions, maybe submit an idea and see if they offer a solution.
Good luck! Let me know what you come up with.

  • My Photosmart Plus printer seems to lose connectivity when in sleep mode, how can I fix this?

My new photosmart plus appears to loose it's connection when it goes to sleep. At least the printers status page online says it's not connected, even though it is visible in my router and the blue light next to the antenna of the printer is on. It also appears to be connected when I poke around in the printer's settings, but if I want to print something from an app or via e-mail I have to run the wireless wizard again, select my netgear and enter the password. Once connected I get a screen where I supposedly can skip printing a report, but that does not work either, it prints no matter what I select, waste of paper and ink.
I searched around but found no solution that would work for me.
    Tech info:
wireless conection to my cable modem with Netgear router
Macbook pro and an older HP laptop are in use.
    Security is WPA2-PSK [AES]
I like the machine a lot, but this is rather anoying, what can I do to keep the connection when the printer sleeps?
    (edited to add security info)

Does the printer not wake from sleep for both the Mac and PC?
You may want to try setting a static IP address for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP.  Enter the current IP address.
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Leave the gateway and DNS blank. Click 'Apply'
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • Hp photosmart plus printer will not copy or print in black ink

HP Photo Smart Plus will not print black.  I can get other colors to print. I have used print Doctor to diagnose and
could not find a problem. I did get printer to print black and all colors on test page. When printing  I do not get a error message other than a red x.  I have also tried a different ink cartidge  with no results.

    Hi Dee54321,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I see you are not able to print in black ink on your HP Photosmart Plus B210a.
I would like you to continue here: Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages, I understand you may have done some of these steps already but I need you to complete all steps in order to resolve the missing black issue you are experiencing.
Please note: There are three printhead cleaning stages. Complete all three stages if necessary. If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last (third) cleaning stage to start the first stage of the cleaning process over again.
If you are still unable to print in black ink, I suspect the issue may be the printer and not the cartridge. I highly recommend you call our technical support at 800-474-6836. Hi,
What is your printer ? Please try this:
    Click Start > All Program > HP > HP Photosmart {your printer} > Printer Setup & Software.
You should see a screen, select "Convert a USB connected printer to wireless"
    Follow instruction from there.

  • The power cord to my hp photosmart plus printer b209a does not work. what can i do?

The warranty for my computer's printer is up, but the printer has not turned on for quite a while. After going through the HP troubleshooting - nothing seems to work. When the power cord is plugged in, the green indicator light does not light up and the printer will not turn on at all.

Here's the steps to follow if your printer isn't turning on.
If you've gone through all those steps and you still don't have power, there are a lot of places that sell a replacement cord and supply for that printer.

  • Is it possible to hookup an HP photosmart plus printer directly to my iPad?  My pc died the day my iPad arrived, so I guess my question is can I install a printer driver directly to my iPad?  Without the help of a computer?

Is it possible to connect my iPad directly to an AirPrint driver...without a pc?

    Jeanette-
The B210a is on the list of AirPrint printers, so you should be able to make it work.  There may be a firmware update needed.  You can check for updates from the printer's control panel, assuming it has a WiFi connection to the internet.
If you do not have WiFi, or your WiFi doesn't correctly handle Bonjour data required by AirPrint, you should be able to setup the printer in Ad Hoc Network mode.  You would then connect the iPad's WiFi directly to the printer.
IGMacKenzie's suggestion of Print n Share should work.  Also try the free iPad App, HP iPrint Photo.

    Hi Jaime,
What you can do is go to the Support and Drivers Area of the Hp website by following the link http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html
    - just type in the Version of of the Photosmart you have, and then follow that by the Version of the MAC OS that you are running
    - you will want to do this from the computer you are wanting to install the printer on.
simply download the Driver and Install and that Should Assist you in getting that printer set up on that computer as if it was coming from the Disk itself

  • Photosmart Plus B209 loosing connection

I just purchased a new Photosmart Plus printer and love it except for one problem.  It seems to loose its connection with the network when it goes into sleep mode.  It is connected over the wireless network to 2 XP computers hardwired to the router and 1 Win. 7 laptop.  They all work fine until the printer goes to sleep.  If you cycle the power button on the printer everything is fine until it goes to sleep again.
    Thanks for any help
    Neal
    Thank You,
    Neal

Did you find a solution to this?
I've had this printer for a few months now and I have no complaints except for this sleeping issue.  I basically have to go downstairs, unplug it, and plug it back in to get it to work again.
I have a Linksys/Cisco wireless G router.  It is set for WPA2.  Hosts on the network use DHCP, but the printer is set with a static IP.  This setup works for a while, but eventually goes to sleep and I cannot get it to wake without doing the power cycle.  I have also set the printer to not to go into sleep mode.  No avail.
Hosts are laptops (only turned on when needed) that run Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

  • Photosmart Plus B209 Excessive Ink Consumption

My Photosmart Plus printer uses too much ink.  I have had it 3 months and have printed very little.  Yet, I have gone through 2 sets of 564 ink cartridges.  It is almost out of ink again.  It seems to use ink even when I haven't printed anything.
Is it possible that my printer is defective?
During that entire 3 months I have printed no more than 10 4x6 photos and perhaps 30 mixed text/web pages.  I have never had a printer that used so much ink.

I have the C309 which uses the 564 cartridge.  I am totally disgusted.  I cannot afford this machine.  I too, use it very little and it just runs out.  I posted a question on how to make it run with just the one black XL cartridge full, with the others installed but empty.  Am awaiting answer, but I think this model doesn't have that option.
If I can't afford this, although I have had HP for two decades of printers, I will be leaving for good and going to a Kodak model which claims to have little expense for ink.
Anyone have experience with Kodak?  I will be sorry to leave HP, but they have gotten greedy if this machine is any example.  It's a shame  because it is a darn good machine.   HP needs to lower the prices for ink for this ink hog or it's bye-bye for good.  After this experience, I would be afraid to buy another hog.

  • I can not print a PDF from a HP Photosmart Plus B210A.  HP says its is a Adobe problem and Adoble says it is not there problem

I am unable to print a PDF file from a HP Photosmart Plus B210a.  I contacted HP and they say because the printer does print word docs etc. the printer cannot be the cause of the problem.  This is from the Top Level Support team.  When contacting Adobe, they say that not being able to print their PDF files is not there problem but HP's.
Another call to HP and they now say it is Apple's problem.
I am in the middle and still can't print a PDF file.  When trying to do so, it doesn't print and I receive no error messages.  Just nothing.  My serial number is
W88110PFZE3 and my operating system is OSX 10.6.8.
Does anyone have a suggestion, or do I just throw out HP?
    Thanks, Bob L.

Try opening the PDF in Preview and see if it will print out of it.
