HP Photosmart Premium all-in-one C310a printer, Solution Center will not stay installed.

It seems lately, past month or so, that the HP Solution Center keeps failing and needs to be reinstalled.  I get a message which says:" HP Solution Center cannot run because your device installation is not complete." followed by a list of steps to take to remedy the situation, which do not work.  I have to uninstall and reinstall the printer and then it will work, but after I shut the computer down for the day or run a virus scan (PC Matic) the problem returns.  Can anybody help me?

If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies.

    I want to print a color pdf file in b&w on my HP Photosmart Premium All-in-one c310a printer. When I go to "features" -> color options -> grayscale -> in the drop down box, there is only one choice - "high quality". There's no "black ink only" choice as I have seen in forums on similar printers.

    If you have the full feature drivers installed for this printer and there isn't a Black Ink Only option under Print in Grayscale, then this printer lacks the feature.  Typically the Black Ink Only options follows the drivers for some deskjets and most officejets, because of the office environments they are intended for.  Where as Photosmart printers are more aimed at printing photos.

  • Photosmart premium all in one wont print from SD card

    Photosmart  premium reads my SD card, and says 398 photos found, then it displays photos for a second or two and  then display reverts back to View and Print without giving me tha opportunity to select and print pictures.  I  performed a power reset and that did not help.

    To make sure the printer is reset properly, do these steps:
    1. Unplug the power from the back of the printer.
    2. Press and hold '3' and '#' buttons.
    3. Plug power back in while holding those buttons.
    4. Release buttons after about 10 seconds.
    Try reading the card again. If it does not read, then try reading a different card. It may have something to do with the individual card if another card reads correctly.

  • How do I get my photosmart premium all-in-one C309g printer back online

     My printer won't print because it somehow put it self offline.  I can't figure out how to put it back online.  I have already tried turning the printer off, waiting for a while then turning it back on.  I also turned off the router, and the computer waiting for a while then turning them back on.  None of this has worked for me.
    If it is my printer that is causing the problem, then I will just get a new one, but first, I want to try everything to see if I can get this problem solved.

    Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see your HP Photosmart C309a will not print, the printer is showing as offline. I would love to get you back up and printing but require a little more information:
    1. What is your current Operating system, Windows or Mac and which version?
    2. How is the printer connected, USB or Wireless?
    3. Have you re ently changed any of the wireless settings, or router?

  • Photosmart C6180 All-In-One...Black Ink will not print...the page is almost blank

    The Printer seems to work correctly, but the page is almost blank.  The only exceptions are a few faint characters, and sometimes a light line down the side of the page.  Can you please help?  The printer has not had much mileage.

    I ran all those tests and did all the upplugging, turning off, etc.  Do not think is a software / connection problem.  Somehow I think the issue is in the black print head.  All ink levels are very good.  In the past, I have been running the printer with the print settings in the software at ... print  in Greyscale / Black Only.  Though the old black cartridge showed plenty of ink, I put in a new black cartridge and that is not the problem.
    Even when I put a paper on the glass to copy and use the black copy button, it prints very faintly...almost not even there.  Yet when I copy by pushing the Color Copy button on the printer and use a color original, colors seem to show up better.
    I have used the tool, clean print heads, several times.  There is a lot of ink in the squares, but it is all color.  My gut is somehow the black print head is still plugged, or something like that.  Though it says to use the "clean print heads" sparingly because it uses up ink,  I saw in the self help to do this 3 times or more.
    What can I do to get the black print head to print?  I appreciate your comments.  My wife is ready to toss it and move on.

  • Leaking ink on Photosmart Premium All in One C310a

    I've had this printer a little over a year and it worked fine. Today it started showing black splotches on the back of my documents. I cleaned the roller the best that I could and noticed that there was a ton of sludge in the waste tanks/ink reservoir area.
    I tried to take off the top/scanner part to get at the reservoir but couldn't do it. I tried to clean it out as much as possible but black ink is everywhere on the far right side where the reservoir is. It has spillled over, gotten on everything. I noticed there were no sponges or mats that I thought were supposed to be there to collect the excess ink.
    I cleaned the printhead by hand and the black ink was thick.  Some of it is still there. I can't seem to get it out of all the little crevasses.
    How can I take the reservoir out and clean it? Is this a printhead problem? How can I get all this ink from leaking onto my documents, pictures and outside the machine?
    Any help is appreciated. I really don't want to buy another printer but it seems I may have no choice.

    I will need a little more information in order to help out. Did you also clean the contacts inside the printhead where the ink cartridges are seated? Did you notice any specific ink cartridge leaking? What materials did you use to clean the inside of the machine? When, you had the printhead out, did you take note of the warranty ends date listed on it above the contacts that you cleaned? If that date has not expired, I would contact HP Total care as this is a print quality issue that you are having and would be covered under that printhead's warranty. If not still in warranty, please reply back and provide that warranty date in the post and I can provide further assistance based of the date. At the end of this post, I am including a link to a document that shows the proper materials to use on the printhead when cleaning it and lists the steps on what to clean and what not to touch just so there is a point of reference to that procedure for you to look at the check off what you have attempted. I know that that title of the document is not the error that you are having, but it illustrates that process well. Here is that link.

  • I have a hp photosmart 5510e all-in-one. IPhone 3Gs &ipad1 will not print

    After changing the ink in the hp photosmart 5510eall-in-one printer I was unable to use the print function on my iphone3gs and ipad1. But my husband is able to print off his iphone4 and iPad 2. I'm running ISO 5.1 and is updated. My printer worked fine this morning. Got any ideas? Thanks hosey54

    I hope you are doing well and sorrry to learn that you are having this issue;
    What Application are using to print?
    Is the iphone 3gs or the ipad 1 gving any errors?
    Let's perform a reset;
    Follow these steps to perform a reset of the product.
    Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the product.
    With the product turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
    Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
    Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
    Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
    If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button ( ) to turn it on.
    Here there are some troubleshotting steps is you are using Airprint or Hp eprint home and Biz;

  • Problem with installing Solution Center for a HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer - C309g

    Hi folks,
    I've searched many threads and found some directions to remedy this, tried them and have had no luck.
    I'm running Windows 7.  All updates are current.  When I bought the printer I installed the software (on Windows 7 OS) from the disc and everything was fine.  Fast forward a year and Solution Center stopped working.
    Uninstalled all HP software to reinstall.  I was only able to reinstall HP Update.  I was able to load the basic drivers for print and scan, but not the entire software suite including Solution Center.  The installation stops abruptly after "installing updates".
    I even downloaded and tried "PS_AIO_06_C309g-m_USW_Full_Win_enu_140_175" and got the same result as the original installation disc.
    What can I do with my printer (HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer - C309g)???

    I hate to hear you are having issues.  What suggestions have you tried?  Did you get an error when installing?  How are you connecting the device?  Before completing the below steps run the print and scan doctor to see what it indicates and if the issue is resolvable through that tool(click + beside utility diagnostic tools, then download beside print and scan doctor). Click Here
    If you are still experiencing the issue the steps below may help resolve it. 
    Try using the scrubber built into the software, then reinstalling from the current download available on the website. 
    From original printer installation CD:
    1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer
    2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open
    3. Open folder Util
    4. Open folder CCC
    5. Run the uninstall_ L4.bat for non-HP computers only.    For HP computers run the Uninstall_L3.bat NOTE: Performing level 4 uninstall on HP computer will negatively affect operating system functionality-HP and I are not responsible for damages or loss of data caused
    6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
    8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

    From a download:
    1. Run disk cleanup on your computer

    4.. Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.
    5. Type %temp% in the run field and click OK.
    6. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
    7. Open folder Util
    8. Open folder CCC

  • Printing on Printable CD's With Photosmart Premium All in One C309a

    I have a Hp Photosmart Premium All in One C309a that has the capability to print CD labels or Print directly on CD's, using Avery design pro label software 5.5, the printer gives an error message saying the CD tray is open. In order to print the tray needs to be closed. I've tried other label software but haven't found one that will communicate with the printer. I'm wide open for any and all suggestions.

    I have a new Photosmart  premium all in one printer, and I'm trying to print #10 envelopes.  Sometimes they print and sometimes I get a message that the main paper tray is empty and needs filling even though there are plenty of envelopes remaining.  The last six attempts have failed.     Thanks for the post.  Ok, we may have several options here.  With ePrint, you can use the mobile app. to print from your printer from any location with your iPad or iPhone.  If you have downloaded and installed the app., then check the below.  If the ePrint app. is not showing (should look like icon below), check the link below these steps.  The 2nd link provides some additional information.  The key is to ensure that both your iPad and the printer are on the same network.  Good Luck!

    If prompted, provide your iTunes account information, and then click Get. iTunes automatically installs the app on your mobile device.
    Step two: Activate the mobile app (optional)
    Why should I activate the mobile app?
