HP Photosmart Premium C 309g printer can not print checks

My Photosmart Premium C309g printer will not print my Quicken (3 checks to a page) checks.  I have tried all settings possible to no avail.  The printer starts the paper into it, but then stops and says "Out of Paper".  Then my only recourse is to press the "X" which then ejects the paper.  Interestingly, if I put in plain white paper there is no problem with printing the checks.  Unfortunately, I need to print on my Quicken checks sheets.  Given the information noted, I believe there is a sensor of some type that is blocking the correct check paper (it has banking information #s, etc.) from working.  If there is a solution please help.  Thank you

    Please read this post then provide some details.   What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, bluetooth?
    Is the first page blank of just missing entirely?  
    What program are you printing from?  Does the same thing happen if you print from Notepad or Wordpad?  (If not then check the settings in your program to make sure you are sepcifying then entire page range desired for printing).

    Have photosmart premium c309 g connected wirelessly to I Mac and Mac book pro.  The unit suddenly will not print black.  Ink levels show all good.  All other colors print fine.  When check HP utility and go to print quality diagnostics, a box appears that states cannot print PQ page--make sure printer is turned on.  If I tell it to print a page, it immediatly connects and prints all colors but not black.  How can it print regular page but not receive message to print PQ page?  "make sure printer is on" ??

  • After the new 10.9.2 Maverick upgrade, my Photosmart C4480 3 in 1 printer can not scan and save the file to desktop or documents.  You can only see the image in the print preview area. Does anyone know how to fix this or when a fix will be out?

    After Aple support downloaded the new 10.9.2 Maverick upgrade on my MacBook Air, my Photosmart C4480 3 in 1 printer can not scan a document and load the file on to my desktop or document file. (You can see the doc image in the preview but it doesn't save it.) Does anyone know an Apple fix for this or when the fix will be out?  After hours of trying reloading, and the usual fixes, etc. Apple told me to call HP, and HP told me they don't support Mac.  It does not seem honorable of Apple to put out an upgrade and not tell people it will destroy their scanning ability, and that the only thing to do is to buy another printer/scanner.

    Have you tried using Applications/Image Capture to scan.

    I recommend that you open your print preferences and select the paper source as the main tray and set the paper size to whatever size it is you want to print. I don'y have a Vista example but I have included a screen shot from Windows 7 of the options window you're after.

    printing test page - blank apart from windows logo
    powering off and on
    printing form different programmes.
    Both black printer cartridges are full.
    printer is 3 days out of one year guarantee!
    I'm not very technical so easy solutions would be preferred.

  • Can not print

    Printer is a HP Photosmart C6180- Son's Mac can't print.
    Last November I bought a MacBook my daughter - Leopard.
    No problem then in setting her machine up and prints fine.
    Last nite I bought a new MacBook for my son.
    Unfortunately I could not find the instructions I wrote down when I set my daughter's Mac up - so that this time it should have been easy. Last nite I was guessing with the print set up. On the first try I 'hit'Print and 14 pages of blank paper came out of the printer- so the Mac & the HP see eachother.
    I gave up and uninstalled the HP application. So now to start over in the set up.
    What are the steps in setting a printer up?
    (The Mac it self is up todate with that software. iWorks is installed. And I have the driver from HP (I acutally had saved the driver download from November)

    You wrote that iWork (no S) is installed but you didn't say if it's the paid version or the free trial one.

  • Can Not Print in Colour

    Just had a replacement of All in One Photosmart Printer C310a. Everything is set, however, i can not print in colour. i have done all that i could it only printing black and white. All the inks are in position, the printer has recognised the inks, allingment printed out, however trying to print anything from computer or copy a colour document, it comes out black and white.
    NEEDS SOLOTION PLEASE.

    If the unit produces B&W copies when selecting color, then this would be a possible indicator of a hardware problem in the printer.  Have you tried printing a Printer Status Report out of the setup menu>>reports>>printer status report?

    HP Photosmart 6510 series network printer will not print anything that is black or has black in the picture after changing cartridge, all other colors are working properly after changing. Does not look like any damage to the cartridge or the insert where you plug in the ink. The well where the ink pad and the cartridge meet is damp with black ink. So not sure what is going on

  • HP Photosmart 6510 e-All-in-One Printer Does Not Print Black Ink

    I have run all the troubleshooting listed from HP and the "check" warrenty doesn't come up blank.  I would like to not have to purchase a new printer to fix this any help would be greatly appreciated:
    1) Rebooted Printer
    2) Installed new printer cartridge (2nd one) - really not happy about this as that represents almost $50 in HP ink
    3) Checked venting - Not the problem
    4) From Tools ran head cleaner - still only prints colors (or grey)
    I've liked HP printers for a long time, but after reading the forums I'm really seeing an issue with the model I puchased.  I don't mind purchasing HP ink and my printer isn't a high volume use printer so I expect it to last beyond 1 year 1 day.
    I have the SN and product number available if a tech needs.
