HP Photosmart Premium MFC C309 - Does not Work with Mac 10.6

I purchased a C309a to print to CD-R media. Got a great price at Costco and I stocked up on a bunch of ink.
Unpacked, installed the ink, hooked her up and......not compatible with 10.6. Ugh.
2 hours on 2 separate tech support calls revealed that CD printing is not supported in Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard and the last customer service person I spoke to said they are not likely to support it any time soon.
The suggestion was to return it to Costco. What a waste of time......
I thought HP was better than this.

Hiya
I've struggled unsuccessfully to be able to select anything other than a couple of inkjet and photo paper types with everything else greyed out when using Photoshop on this device. See my post below:
HP C309a (aka CC335) greyed out paper types with Photoshop

Suggestion from HP was to uninstall everything HP and re-install from their website. But as the Apple site has v2.3 drivers dated November (which I have installed but which makes no difference) and the HP site full function set is September, I haven't bothered.
I confess I haven't tried a CD print but all other media was selectable in Pages; my problem was (and is) with Photoshop.
General consensus around the fora I have visited is that the HP drivers aren't adequate. I don't know if that's true or not but as I have not had any sensible advice or tips on how to resolve this, mine will be going back to PC World.
I did like the CD facility, the duplexing and fax so not sure what is the next best option.

You should contact your bank to see what browsers they support and until then ignore the message. The chances are very good they suppport Safari and Firefox, both are great browers.

  • HP Envy 5530 e-all-in-one Does Not Work With Mac

Just bought an HP Envy 5530 all-in-one. It does not print through Safari and possibly other Mac applications. Does not frame the page properly even with "print page" and prints slower  than 1 page per minute, even with no background images. My old HP had no problem with Safari. Phone support tells me there is no driver or fix. So I will return the device. Seems crazy. I now see othr commenters saying it doesn't work with Mac. If HP's no longer works with major Mac applications, they will be returned in droves. Anyone know why or know of a fix?

I am having the same issue. Did you ever find a solution?

  • HP photosmart premium c309g-m does not work wirelessly

    Hello everyone,
I'm also having an issue with printing/scanning this c309-g m printer.
My OS for this is a Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard
it did detect it but it does not wirelessly print or scan anything at all!!!
    Help Please?!

OK, as long as the CD said it was for 10.6 (and not 10.5+) we will proceed assuming the software is OK.
First, Let's reset the printing system:
    - Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
    - Right (control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

  • Firefox version 4 does not work with Mac OS 10.4.11. Is there a fix for this? Alternatively, how do I download an older version of Firefox that will work?

I have a an older IMAC as a second computer. I replaced an older version of Firefox with the new update. I had to do this because Firefox gave me a message that the older version would no longer work. The new version 4.0 will not open even after it is put in the applications folder. I get a message that says this version is not compatible with my Operating system. I don't want to change the OS at the moment.
Can anyone help? I'd like to just download an older version of Firefox if that is the only way to make this work, but I can't find an older version on the website.
    Thanks very much.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus Wireless DOES NOT WORK with Mac Mavericks Based Network

Replaced my Brother system with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus yesterday.  There are many positive features of the 8600 Plus that prompted me to purchase it...
    Modular Design
    Large legal sized Scanner
    Standard/Legal Paper Printer
    Copy
    E Print Capability
High Yield / Affordable Toner Replacements
Unfortunately, I discovered the Wireless network capability is less than desirable.  After hours of installing, reinstalling, work arounds, internet solution searches, it just will not work.  If you are able to get the printer to work on your network (with router), the scanner will not be visible, vice versa, etc...etc...etc...
HOWEVER, I did discover this solution.  If the unit is near your base computer, install it to your computer with a usb connection.  That allows you to have scanning and printing from that unit.  Then you can connect the unit through its ethernet connection to your router.  From there all computers can print within your network.  It's not the best way to connect a WIRELESS printer, but at least it works.
I'm not certain why HP and Apple can't find a solution, but I never found anything on the net that worked.  The problem seems to stem from the new Mavericks update from Apple, but I'm really not sure.  I wasted an entire day of productivity attempting to make it work.  I'm posting this so you don't make the same mistake.  If you happen to know a verified solution, then I would welcome the information.  Best of luck!!!

It may be a mac driver issue. Try installing the bootcamp update for your version of vista from here:

I'm not sure if this is supposed to work since I've never tried mac hardware at 5ghz on windows before...

Firefox 4 is not supported on PowerPC (G3, G4, G5) machines. Only Intel processors support it.

  • After Effects CS6 Will not open // Does not work with MAC OS X

I recently installed and reinstalled CS6 Production Premium, numerous times. All of the programs work except for After Effects. I get a message saying that I cannot this version of Adobe After Effects CS6 with this version of OS X. You have Adobe After Effects CS6 11.0
I have OS X 11. Am I missing something obvious here?

So I have tried to update, and after looking up the error code on the log I still cant figure it out. Through Adobe App Manager I have updates it looks like for all programs in CS. I have tried a few times to update these programs to a U43M1D204 error. Is this a bandwidth issue? I have tried troubleshooting through the FAQ and still cannot figure it out.

  • Mini DP to HDMI does not work with Mac Mini 2014?

    Hi All,
I just upgraded from a Mac Mini 2011 i5 to a Mac Mini 2014. My old Mini worked fine running 2 displays with an HDMI cable to one monitor and a Mini Displayport to HDMI from the Thunderbolt port to another monitor. I can't seem to get the new 2014 Mini to see the monitor from either the Thunderbolt ports. Is this no longer supported?
    Thanks

    Hi there LaureynR,
You should still be able to do this. I would recommend taking a look at the article below for troubleshooting steps.

  • "Save for Web" does not work with mac OS 10.6

Everything else runs fine with PSE 6 and OS 10.6, but nothing (!) happens when choosing "Save for Web" (German Version).

Here are the directions for PSE 6 in general:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/422596?tstart=30
    and for save for web:
Finally, to make the Save For Web work, you must do the same thing as above (which is make a folder owner be a non-admin account, and fix the read/write so that in 10.4 the You can says Read & Write).  The folder to change with the "command i" get info is :
    /Library/Applications Support/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/File Agent/6.0/en_US.
Once this en_US file is owned by a non-admin account and the Read & Write is set, and the padlock is unlocked, the Save For Web works.

  • Mavericks 10.9.5 -- Brother MFC-7320 does not work.

    Hi apple folks,
Mavericks 10.9.5 --> Brother MFC-7320 does not work.
I just have downloaded the driver form
    http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadhowto.aspx?c=gb&lang=en&prod=mfc7320_eu&o s=132&dlid=dlf005077_000&flang=4&type3=20
Despite the fact that I followed the step by step instructions from the Brother website,  unfortunately, Mavericks does not  recognize my printer.
    Any helping hand?
    Thanks.
    Marko

The current driver for that printer is available for auto-download from Apple servers when you add the printer in Print & Scan prefs.
If you've downloaded an older version, it may not work.
I see on this page that there is a firmware update for the printer. You should do that too.
    http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=gb&lang=en&prod=mfc7320_eu&os =132
    Try this order.
    Reset Printing System:
OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system
Add the printer in Print & Scan prefs.
    Apply the firmware update.
    Try printing.
