HP Photosmart Studio quits 10.8.4

Just started have problems with my C4780 printer & HP Photosmart Studio running latest software on 10.8.4 On opening it just quits and will not reload on trying again.

The C4780 doesn't have a software package for 10.8. All the software is obtained through Apple Software Updates. Photosmat Studio isn't part of that software. How did you get it to install in 10.8? Was it on the Mac prior to the 10.8 upgrade, or did you find a way to force it to install? Either way the reason it's not working is because it's not designed to work with 10.8. HP Photosmart Studio freezes after launch

Does anyone else have a problem with HP Photosmart Studio freezing/not responding as soon as it is launched?
I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro running 10.5.5, though the problem has been the same since 10.5.1.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest software from the HP web site, deleted preference files, repaired permissions etc but the problem remains.
Any help would be welcome.

I can confirm that I, too, am encountering problems with HP Photosmart Studio (version 9.6.9) that is mystifying me. I spent about 10 hours trying to figure out the problem, but I did not come up with any solution.
I have not yet explored all of the HP software features that came with my HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One, which so far seems to be a very fine machine that has delivered full functionality in printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. The one feature that does not seem to be functioning properly has to do with scanning a JPG image to the HP Photosmart Studio. Every time I've tried to do that, I get the same result: the image gets scanned OK and is deposited into a folder called "Scanner Output." That part is good. However, whenever the Photosmart Studio application is launched—either as part of the scanning process, or if I just launch it independently of triggering a scan via the HP Device Manager—the Studio application delivers a spinning sundial gauge next to the "Keywords Album" item for about 30 seconds, which is the followed by the spinning beach ball, indicating that the application is not responding. I must Force Quit it.
That is what has happened since I first installed the HP software on my PowerMac G4 running Tiger, 10.4.11. Uninstalling the HP software and reinstalling it does not fix the problem. The thing that mystifies me is that I cannot discern if the problem lies solely within the HP software or if there is something wrong with Tiger on my PowerMac G4. The reason I say that is that, in order to isolate the problem, I ran comparative tests of the same, freshly reinstalled HP Photosmart Studio on an iMac G5 running Tiger 104.11, and I did not have problem getting a stable Photosmart Studio window to appear. The same spinning sundial gauge appeared, and it spun for awhile, but it eventually disappeared and the application became functional, unlike on my G4, when the spinning beach ball appeared.
Additionally, back on my PowerMac G4, which also has partitions running Panther and Leopard, the HP Photosmart Studio application, which resides on the Tiger volume, loaded OK when I re-started the G4 under Panther and Leopard. However, I do not consider that a solution, since I could see no way that I could access images that were not on the startup drive.
I wish I could say definitively whether or not the problem lay within the HP Photosmart Studio component of the quite extensive software package that came with the All-in-One, or whether there may be something amiss, or incompatible, with the Mac OS. But all of my tests thus far do not allow me to reach any definite conclusion. As you requested, it would be nice to know from others if this software application works or not with the Mac OS. For me, I guess I am just going to have to work around that particular feature, at least on the Tiger volume on my PowerMac G4. Strange, though, isn't it?

Deleting photos from HP Photosmart Studio

I guess it doesn't get any more basic than this! I'm using a friend's Mac for the first time, and iPhoto is easy to use, but I can't find how to delete images from HP Photosmart Studio!

I have the same idiotic problem. How is there not a way to delete photos directly from HP Photosmart Studio? Pretty dumb if you ask me. So far my only solution will be to uninstall the POS software then re-install the most likely defunct printer drivers that were tied to it. What a crock! - There's not even any suport for the software, then again there isn't any direct support for anything at HP.
If anyone figures out an easier way to simply delete photos from HP Photosmart Studio on a MAC let us know!

HP Photosmart Studio Keeps Crashing

Like many here, I recently upgraded to 10.6 and the update to 10.6.6. Although I finally got around the scan/print problems, I cannot get Photosmart Studio to stay open. It keeps crashing. Part of the error message I am getting is below. The printer itself is a HP Photosmart C4280. I really like the Studio software and would like to get it to work. Any suggestions?? Thanks much.

Yes, at HP people are having driver problems with scanning and printing. That is not my problem. I have found an old link here with this same problem. Unfortunately, I'm not capable of adjusting code. I was hoping in the meantime, someone came up with something.

Logic Studio quitting unexpectedly

Logic Studio quits unexpectedly after I installed steinberg cubase LE 5.
Even after deleting Cubase, Logic still quits unexpectedly.
As Logic Studio is my main app I need to make sure I can get access to it.
Can anyone please help me.

I finally got through this and wanted to share my findings:
1. Logic install disks have a surprisingly high failure rate. Apple must know this because they are very quick to send out replacements, well before examining installation problems in any detail. Get replacements.
2. Go through the install exactly as recommended by the install app. Then use EXSManager to put the samples where you want them. Works great and worth the extra dough.
3. Pray that Apple buys/licenses EXSManager as a bundled utility so that we don't have to buy a commercial product that does what any pro audio app or sampler should do to begin with.

Photosmart studio 9.8.1 and officejet 4635

Am running photosmart studio version 9.8.1 and when I try to scan the program doesn't recognize my new officejet 4635. Previously, using same software, I was able to scan using a 4400 series hp printer. When I use the browse function within photosmart studio it doesn't show the 4635. How can I resolve this? TIA

The HP Photosmart Studio is an older HP Software for previous models, it is not a part of the 4635 printer and will not detect it.
What is your Mac OS X version?
Have you tried the HP Scan software which shipped with your new printer? it should be available within the Hewlett-Packard folder.

HP PhotoSmart Studio Software Locks Up or is Painfully Slow!

I tried to resolve this thru HP support, but never got past the level 1 reinstall run around. However, I did come up with a 'fix'.
By using Activity Monitor and Xcode Instruments I was able to determine that the excess cpu and memory was being consumed by a Studio thread responsible for Keyword Albums. I tried to 'turn off' Keyword Albums by deselecting the default albums in Studio Preferences, but this did not work. Finally I disabled Keyword Albums by using the plist editor to change the content of ~/Library/Preferences/com.hp.Photosmart.keywords.plist to this:

I have experienced exactly the same problem and looking at the Activity Monitor the PhotosmartStudio application is making a large number of Unix calls. I have already uninstalled and re-installed the Software and this has made no difference. The silly part of this whole saga is that I would much prefer to download direct into iPhoto, but I am not sure how to separate the applications and discontinue using Photosmart. I think it might be simpler to purchase another printer!

Logic Studio quit unexpectedly

Every time I try to launch logic studio it quits unexpectedly while initializing core audio. I tried to repair permissions already. Anything I can do short of reinstalling?

try to trash logic preferences located in your user Library/preferences...
try to remove tha third party AU plugin from the component folder (inside Library/Audio/plugins/components.
try also to disconnect your Audio interface

HP Photosmart Studio running SLOW

We just became Mac users with our new iMac less than a month ago. We got the HP 4400 all in one with the computer as well. I unloaded pics from my camera's card today and used the editing software for the first time....it was incredibly slow. Is there a reason for that? Is it like a PC....could I be running other programs that I'm not aware of that could have been slowing it down? It actually "locked up" at one point which was extremely frustrating to me with a new computer. I used the unloading and editing software with my old PC and old HP printer with no problems, so I was very surprised when the "new stuff" was sub par today.
Anyone out there that can suggest something or help me out?

After upgrading to VS 2013 Ultimate I can no longer open solutions. I begin to see the solution open, but I then get a message saying Visual Studio has stopped responding and it restarts. I can run fine if I run visual studio is SafeMode.

According to your description, I recommend you can follow up these steps below to handle the issue：
First, try to disable the windows process which is running.
Second, you say you can run VS in the safeMode. It seems there is something wrong with VSCommands extension or other plugin. You can try to disable all extensions, restart visual studio and re-enable them; sometimes it resolves such issue.
Third, you can try to reset your Vs by devenv.exe:

AppleScript Studio Quit Working

Last December (2007) I followed the tutorials in the "Introduction to AppleScript Studio Programming Guide" to create a handful of demo projects, plus one of my own invention that actually worked!
Today I sat down to resume my learning and I found that, while the target apps I had created still work, I cannot rebuild the projects. The error message is the same in every case:

I just encountered a problem with my project that occurs under the same circumstances: open my project file, click on the build button, and it fails with the same error:
/usr/bin/ld: /System/Library/Frameworks/WebKit.framework/WebKit load command 19 unknown cmd field
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I just ran an update to move to 10.4.11. I get the feeling that updated Webkit, and that's causing the problem. I'm on a PPC machine running XCode 2.1 but perhaps it's time to check out 2.5.
For what it's worth, I found that I was still able to compile using "xcodebuild" on the command line. You might try giving this a shot. From the Terminal, cd into the project's directory; then execute "xcodebuild -alltargets clean && xcodebuild build" -- this will clean the current executable then build it.
A couple questions for you: (1) What OS are you running? (2) What version of XCode? (3) What processor architecture (Intel or PPC)?
