HP Printer Assistant (3510e All-In-One) Display No Maintenance Option

Hello.
I have a problem with my HP printer (a little over a year old  - expected to work well)
Desktop PC:   HP Pavillion HPE310t 64-bit (OS: Windows 7 Professional)
Printer:            HP 3510e All-In-One (Wirelessly Connected & Confirmed by the "Green -Colored Check Mark")
Problem:
Expected: HP Printer Icon which, upon being clicked on it, displays a message "Retrieving information from the device" before displaying the HP printer assistant where it displays eight options including "maintain your printer".
Current Condition: only displays "Printer Setup & Software" which is part of the printer setup process.  Because of this, there is no way to access the maintenance option as I am in need now.
Yes, I tried to reinstall the printer software, after completely removing all the existing files, using the software CD that came with the printer - no avail.  Repeated the process twice to see the same result.
What is the problem and how can it be fixed?
I would greatly appreciate to have your help.

Hello greenjewel,
Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that not all the options are available like they once were.
I suggest that we start off by running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

  • Printing with HP all-in-one connected to Airport Extreme with USB

We have an HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one, an AirPort Extreme base station, and a G-5 MacIntosh running OS 10.4.8. We can print when the all-in-one unit is connected directly to the Mac with USB cable, however, we are unable to print when the USB cable is connected to the base station. What can you suggest?

    Which driver are you using?
According to HP must use drivers 6.3.4 or 7.0

  • Printing issue wirlesse printing on c5100 all in one

    Hello
I have issues printing over my wirless network using a mac and printing on C5100 all in one. When the printer is running and I start up my mac (running 10.8.3) I can print the windows documents. However if the printer is switched on after the mac is switched on it can not find the printer.
I reinstalled the all the drivers on the mac and set a fixrd ip adress for the printer but both doesnt work. same issue with a second mac laptop also running 10.8.3
Anybody an idea what this could be?
    Tahnks in advance

I am thinking the router does not support Bonjour (otherwise known as mDNS).  Macs need this service to be able to find the printer.
Get into the router settings and look for Bonjour or mDNS and make sure it is enabled. Also, make sure the multicasting is enabled in the router.

  • Printer Error - HP All-in-One Printer App

I have the HP Photosmart B210 and have been using the HP Printer Control app on my Lenovo laptop.  It has worked successfully until a few weeks ago.  When I read some of the reviews on the updated app - which is now HP All-in-One Printer Remote, I realized upgrading to Windows 8.1 may help.  Once updated to Windows 8.1 I did start printing!  However, my documents would only print half-way through and then I receive an error message and the printing stops.  So, I will get one or two pages out of a 4 to 5 page document with the same Error message half-way through.  No description about the error - just error - printing has to be cancelled.  Suggestions?  Pleeeeaaaassssseeee!

    Hello Seahorse1305,
    Welcome to the forums!
I am here to assist you with the printing issue you are having with your Photosmart B210. The first thing I do recommend, is running the HP Print and Scan Doctor to find and fix printing and scanning problems. If there is more of an issue that the tool cannot fix, it will let you know what the problem is.
Please let me know how this turns out for you!

  • HP copier/printer/scanner/fax all-in-one The print screen on machine is lit but blank.

HP laserjet 8600 All-in-one. My print screen on machine is lit but blank. Unable to access prompts to operate. At times it will display home, right and left arrows and ? when touching those prompts it shifts  from right to left but goes blank when touching other prompts
I am unable to print a copy because prompts don't appear on screen other than those mentioned.
I can print only from my computer

Hi there klf, welcome to the forums
I understand your display screen is blank on your printer. I would like for you to confirm which 8600 model you have and I will look into this for you.
In the meantime try a power reset:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Tip: Plug the printer in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

  • Switch from PS laser printer to PCL all-in-one

I've been using a Xerox Phaser 4400 for years, and I'm starting to suspect
    it's on it's last legs.
When I purchased it, much of my work went to press as hard copy, so the PS
printer (where I could set dot screen properly was important). I also wanted
only Adobe PS as I'd had problems with cloned versions in the past.
Now, of course, none of my work goes to press has hard copy, all as PDFs
    either emailed or on CDs.
Is there any reason (my main apps are Creative Suite CS3) to still need a
Postscript printer? Do these apps print properly to PCL or is PS still
    needed?
I'd like to clear up some office space by getting rid of my PS printer,
stand alone fax machine, scanner and copiers in favor of one of the new
network all-on-ones (PC Mag rated a Brother very highly this month).
Any reason not to do this? Or any thoughts to help me decide?
    Thanks.
    Cyndee

    >But why have you had so many if they don't break? <g><br /><br />Well...ummm...errr....I broke them. <g><br /><br />Seriously, I started off with a simple laser printer that had a parallel <br />port for my non-usb Toshiba 435cds. Worked great!<br /><br />I needed to do a few color jobs a few years ago (before color laser <br />became affordable) and I bought a Brother all-in-one inkjet.<br /><br />I couldn't stand (read despise) inkjets and I bought this new Dell <br />Inspiron 530 desktop which doesn't come with a parallel port so I had to <br />say goodbye to my old Brother laser printer.<br /><br />But I've really enjoyed the convenience of this compact Brother all in <br />one. I never have to leave my chair to scan, copy, or print and it <br />barely takes up any room.

  • PDFs will not print on HP All-In-One C309a

PDF files and only PDF files will not print on my HP Photosmart Premium All-In-One C309a. I can not print PDFs that are online or that are on my hard-drive. I sometimes use the 'print to XPS file utility' and then open and print the XPS file with no problem.
When I try to print a PDF file, the printer makes all the noises it makes when printing normally, but does not print. The viewing winding says "Now Printing", a piece of paper cues up, the audio cue plays meaning job completed and eventually a blank piece of paper comes out.
I am using Windows XP with Service Pack 3.

Is your printer still in warranty? You can check with HP's warranty tool here.
The printheads in the Photosmart 6510 are not removable.  I will ask to have an HP support agent to look in on this thread, they may be able to suggest some further troubleshooting.

  • Setup can't detect network printer Photosmart C7250 all in one

I volunteer for our local historical society.  The person who did a lot of the computer maintenance work is not active at this time so I’ve begun to look at things.
There is a Gateway PC running Windows 7 64 bit home premium, a Sony Vio laptop running Vista 32 bit  home premium, an HP Laser printer and (of most importance here) an HP Photosmart C7250 All in one printer.
Internet connectivity is via a dsl line with a combination modem/router.  I think the modem/router is a Westell or an Actiontec through Frontier Communications (formerly Verizon in this area)  but I’m not sure and I’m not at the museum now.
A couple of weeks ago I was able to connect the laptop to the network via wifi.  My next step is to connect the laptop wirelessly to the printer so we can print wirelessly over the network.  The printer was originally set up through a usb connection so I changed it to a wired Ethernet connection.  The PC now successfully prints to the printer over the network.  I downloaded the software and drivers directly to the laptop from the HP site and began the installation.  When it got to the point of finding the network printer the software couldn’t detect it.  I then put in the ip address for the printer (from the network info printed out from the printer) and it still couldn’t find it.
This same situation occurred when I tried to set it up on my personal laptop (Win7 , 64 bit) as well.  Setup couldn’t detect the network printer, even after searching for the network ip address.
Since the printer is connected to the network (router) via an Ethernet cable, I don’t have the wifi radio turned on in the printer.  This shouldn’t make any difference.
I’ve searched the forums and haven’t seen anything that is like my issue.
I don’t what else to do.  Hopefully someone will give me some advice on what to do next.

Download and run this utility: http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h_pagetype=s-926&h_lang=en&h_client=s-h-e17-1&h_keyword=dg-NDU&ju...
    What does it say?
If the network has Wireless Isolation turned on it will prevent wired devices from seeing wireless devices.  Do you have access to the router?

  • Can't print to 8600 All-In-One after awhile

I have an 8600 All-In-One N911A and it is connected to my network via wired Ethernet and after power up, I can print to the printer via my Mac's and ipad/iphone no problem. After some preiod of time (hours) none of my devices can print to the printer however I CAN get to it via a web browser by IP Address.
I get the message printer is not responding or looking for printer and if I power cycle the device it can be seen/printed to again but the issue repeats itself after a few hours.
Any clue what could be casuing this with all my devices? My main router is a fairly new Linksys Router/Wireless/Switch and it seems like a printer. I had a similar problem with an 8500 which I replaced thinking it had a networking hardware failure so I don't think it is a bad printer given this is the second one with a problem.

Sorry to hear that you are having connectivity issues with the printer to the WiFi.  I have seen this issue and I was able to resolve the issue by doing one easy step. If you happen to have the printer power cable connected to a power bar/strip, please remove it and connect it directly to a wall outlet.  HP printers already have built in surge protector and if you have the power cable connected to a bar/strip, the printer will not get all the power it needs to function properly and this could very well be the reason why you are having issues.
Here is a document that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Please note that the printer that is listed in the document is a LaserJet printer and it is only used as an example. This document is meant for HP products in general.
If this does not resolve the issue, please feel free to write me back.

  • Can't detect or print to C8189A All-in-One-Printer on a wired LAN

Computers on my home wired LAN repeatedly but intermittently stop being able to print to the HP C8189A printer attached via wired LAN connection.  I began trouble shooting last night and uninstalled all HP software to start afresh.
I cannot print to my HP C8189A all-in-one printer conected to a wired network from my desktop PC running Windows XP with SP3.  I can see the printer has pulled an IP from the router by looking at the router's attached client list.  I can ping the printer at its assigned LAN IP address.
My desktop pc and the C8189A printer share a common DLINK Gigabit Switch which connects wired wired LAN to the DLINK router.
I uninstalled and reinstalled all HP software but during the HP Solutions Center software reinstall it could not find the PRINTER on the lan, even when inserting the Printer's assigned IP address.
When checking the network configuration from the printer, it confirms that it is has the correct IP address, but the HP software still cannot detect it.  I have pulled the power connector from the back of the power a couple times to RESET the printer.  This usually corrects what is now a terribly frustrating problem accessing the printer.
Additional factoids: 1) other PCs can print to this printer, 2) SPYBOT Search & Destroy is running on my PC and popped some registry change windows during the install.
I'm running out of ideas - any suggestions please?

Hmmm ... this is interesting.  In review:
You can print intermittently from your XP SP3 box to the OJP L7680.
Disabling the SW firewall (Norton/Symantec, Zonealarm, McAfee, etc) on the SP3 PC doesn't help.
Other computers on your network have no problems printing to the OJP L7680.
You are running a wired (Ethernet) network.
Did I get this right?  I'd like to ask a few more questions:
What are the other types of computers on your network and what firewall do they run?
The next time your XP SP3 computer has trouble printing to the OJP L7680, try to access the printer's internal web page.
What are the IP addresses of the other devices on your network?  By chance, is there a duplicate address on your network?
Finally, you can try adding the print driver manually to see if we can get you printing.  This is the sequence for XP:
Click "Start" button --> Printers and Faxes.
Under Printer Tasks, click "Add Printer".
Click "Next" button on the first Add Printer Wizard window.
If the option for Local or Network printer appears, select "Local printer attached to this computer" and deselect  the "Automatically detect and install My Plug and play  printer" option.  Click "Next".
Under Select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port"  and click "Next" button.
In the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port wizard" make sure that the printer is  turned on and configured. Click "Next" button.
Under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the printer's host name  (that is the hostname of printer that printed in network configuration page)
under "Additional Port Information" select "Standard". Click Next, and then click Finish.
Now, select HP from the list of manufacturers, select your printer from  the list of Printer models  and click 'Next' button.
The Printer name will be highlighted on the next window.
    Click "Next" button.
It ask for the Printer name -- leave it as is.
Select "Yes" option for making the printer default.
    Click "Next" button.
The Printer Sharing dialog box will open.
    Click "Next" button.
The Print Test Page box appears.
Select "Yes" option to print a test page.
    Print Test Page.
Completing the Add Printer Wizard box appears.
Click "Finish" button and wait for the files to copy
This should work to get you a print queue for your XP box.
