Hp printer drivers that work with 10.9.4

I had a new hard drive installed on my iMac with OSX 10.9.4. It then would not print to either the HP psc 2510xi Photosmart (USB cable) or the networked HP Officejet 7000, both of which had worked with 10.9.2. I downloaded new drivers from HP and Apple: HP Printer Drivers v.2.26.1 for OSX. When I try to Add a printer I get the message: Can't install software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server. HP support labeled my Photosmart obsolete and sold me an Officejet Pro 8100. Same problem even though it came with a CD with printer drivers. Same messages.

Do you have a backup of your HD made prior to the drive failing?  If so go into the HD/Library/Printers folder and copy the "hp" folder into the same location on your new hard drive.
Reboot, go to the System/Printers & Scanners preference pane, remove the printer and add it back again.

can anyone recommend a Multi-function black and white laser printer for that works with Mountain Lion?
The MFP can be either 3-in-1  or 4-in-1 i.e with fax

I bought an epson xp650 a couple of months ago and cannot fault it. It does everything I require and it is the wifi model so I can print directly from my ipad/iphone. Not sure if you are asking about the colour of the unit or just to be able to print black and white, Obviously all printers will print black and white but just to give you a little more info the printer I bought is the white version and it looks really nice sat next to my imac 27''
    Hope this helps.

  • What other hp print drivers will work with the officejet pro 8600

I have an Officejet Pro 8600 and like many others here, I am having a problem printing a custom size envelope (6x9). I did find that I can use the drivers for a deskjet 450 and setup  my 8600 using those drivers. However, the 450 6x9 does not have a portait option in the layout.
My question is, what other hp print drivers will work in the 8600? I'm hoping one will have a 6x9 portrait layout?

    Hello wingcheck,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're receiving a problem printing a custom envelope size (6x9). You did state that you installed a Deskjet 450, but it doesn't come with a portrait option. I will do my best to assist you!
First,  I need to find out your operating system on your computer? Windows or Mac?
If you have a Windows computer and using this Deskjet 450 driver, have you checked Devices and Printers on your computer to see if you have this portrait option:
    1) Right click on the Deskjet 450, then click on Printer Preferences
    2) Very top you should see a tab called "Finishing" and look for Orientation
    3) You should see portrait, landscape, rotate by 180 degrees or mirror image.
    4) Let me know if you don't have this option on this post
If not, then I would recommend installing a Deskjet 9800 to see if you have this option. Please follow this HP document on Installing an Alternate Print Driver in Windows 7 for a USB Cable Connection. When setting up this custom size, change the paper type to "Other Specialty Media". Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great night!
Hi Cheetah .... I don't have access to my printer at the moment due to travel, but here's what I have right now. My operating system is Windows 7 64. That's not much, but it is a start. I will have the additional information for you in a day or so. Something else I discovered in the user guide, which I didn't know, is that each tray will only handle specific media. So, when I print envelopes, I will have to use Tray 1 in order to do so.
Now I do have another question for you. Can I have installed, 2 different sets of print drivers at the same time without it causing a conflict? I'm assuming the diffenent driver will simply show up as a different printer in the listed printers, right?? Any way, thanks for your quick response, and upon arriving home, I will follow your previous suggestions. I will also keep you posted as to my success or failure.
    Thanks
    Paul

  • Need HP Print driver that works with OSX Lion 10.7.4

I recently got a new modem and I need to update my SSID and password on my HP wireless printer.  The printer software that came with the printer and on the hp website for the printer only supports Mac OSX and doesn't work for OSX Lioin 10.7.4
Is there a way to get software that could update my printer or should i remove and somehow reinstall the printer with different software?
Kids need to print their homework....help!

    No reason to be sorry,
You should use the Setup Assistant to reconfigure the wireless connection:
Make sure the printer turned on and connected to your Mac by USB.
Go to Applications\Hewlett-Packard\Device Utilities and follow the HP Setup Assistant. it will guide you to connect the printer to your new router.
If you can't find the Hewlett-Packard folder you will need to install the HP software by selecting the HP Recommended Software, the software van be found in the following link:

  • Drivers that work with 4 gig of

Can Creative give any indication of when they will release a set of drivers that work properly on a system that can address 4 gig of ram please. As memory prices are currently so low there are a lot of users migrating to Vista 64 so they can use 4 gig of ram or more so I was wondering when Creativie will stop embarassing themselves with the current drivers that they have and actually address the 4 gig ram issue. I know a lot of users don't have a problem using 4 gig and a creative card but I also know an equal number do and I'm willing to bet the users that don't have very few pci or pci-e devices in their machines. From what I can tell if you have several pci or pci-e devices then the creative drivers crap out - probably because they are pushed beyond the 32bit address space. Please creative fix this URGENTLY - it's not like I'm the first person to complain about it and you can only deny it for so long, you really are embarassing yourselves by not addressing this issue!

Ok I guess I should probably have included some details of the problems instead of just ranting. The problems I am seeing on my system are as follows.. - using the new drivers with 4gig in vista 64 just produces constant static (very loud and much like an untuned TV). Remove 2 gig and it works fine - or remove all other pci / pci-e cards and it works fine. 2 - using the previous drivers occassionally work. That is they will work most of the time but after rebooting the sound will occassionally vanish. The drivers will still be installed and the device listed as working correctly in device manager however there will be no sound. At this point you have to either remove 2gig of ram or resinstall the drivers to get sound working again. I am pretty sure that the problem is with either the creative drivers or the x-fi card itself because?I have?seen?plenty of?posts from other?users suffering with similar problems . For reference my motherboard is an Asus P5B Deluxe, I have an Nvidia 8800GTS card in my primary pci-e slot, a hauppauge nova t-500 tv card in one pci slot and the creative x-fi in another pci slot and am using?4gig of Geil DDR2 ultra ram with a core 2 duo 6600 processor. I have tried moving the x-fi card to a different pci-slot and this makes no difference, I have tried using a different brand tv-card in a different slot and this also makes no difference. It does appear to me that the drivers have major problems when pushed to use a certain part of system memory - hence the reason it works when there are no other expansion cards in the sytstem (or 2gig less addressable space and no need for any bios memory mapping to take place). I hope that better explains the problems. P.S. I realised when I made the post that there would more than likely be replies stating 'works for me' or 'I have no problem'. If it works for you with similar hardware configuration then great there is still hope that I can get my system working correctly.

  • I just switched from pc and want to get printer drivers to work with macbook air.  How do I do that?

I just switched from pc and want to get my HP all in one printer to work with macbook air.  Is it just as simple as downloading drivers from HP?

Turn the printer on and plug the printer into the MBA and your mac should install the printer for you (usually any necessary drivers too).  I had a printer I used on a pc and I plugged it into my macs usb port and my mac automatically recognized it and took care of everything for me.  If you do this and it wont print, then yes go to the HP website the install latest drivers for 10.7
Also, as a new mac user you should find these articles helpful:

  • Wireless print server that works with Macs and Epson R1800?

    Hi,
I'm looking to buy a wireless print server, which I could use as if the printer was connected directly to my Mac. So basically, it just needs to have printing over IP port (like port 9100 on HP JetDirect) and drivers for Mac OS X (or ideally, no special drivers needed at all). Devices that do sharing of the printer only over LPD (older Unix), SMB (Windows), IPP (Cups / newer Unix) or similar protocols is not what I'm looking for here.
The reason why LPD, SMB and IPP are not an option is that I'll need utilities such as Epson Printer Utility to work over the network too.
It looks like Linksys, Belkin and some other have products that allow access to the printer over port 9100 (standard HP JetDiret's port) as if the printer was connected directly to the computer. However, for the most part I was able to find only success stories for Windows users.
Windows has standard driver that allows connection to the printer to be easily switched from USB port to network port. Does OS X comes standard with that feature, or is the special driver needed?
Most importantly, has anybody had success with printing from Mac through wireless print server (any brand) to Epson R1800? Did the Epson Print Utility (checking the ink levels, checking and cleaning the head, etc) work? Any special drivers needed?
    Thanks

direwolf has hit the nail on the head - the Epson driver won't work for IP printing. The Epson driver is a Carbon driver, where they build the comm protocols into the driver instead of enabling use of the standard protocols on OS X (that are part of the CUPS system). You'll need a CUPS driver to use the standard network protocol(s). The printfab driver is a CUPS driver.
Exception - the Apple Extreme/Express/etc print servers have firmware that make them work like Macs - Mac-to-Mac sharing works with USB-only drivers! I hesitate to recommend the Extreme/Express, because Apple can't seem to get all the kinks out.

  • Can someone recommend a good multi-function scanner/printer/copier that works with Mac OS 10.6.8?

I've just purchased a Canon Image Class MF4570dn. Very disappointed to find that whatever I do I cannot get the scanner to work & the Apple support board is of no help.
It seems like there is a conflict with OS 10.6.8 that does not let the scanner get recognized by any scanning software -- either the Mac native software in Preview or the Canon software included on CD with the box & via download from Canon's site. The Canon software is called "MF Toolbox" but for the life of me I can't get it to start without instantly crashing!
Any suggestions of set-ups that are working with you on a similar system set-up would be much appreciated!

This is  discouraging! I ended up trying Canon because my Macbook Pro suddenly stopped recognizing my previous HP scanner -- a MF inkjet printer.
I have been looking at HP multi-function lasers in lieu of this faulty Canon I just returned.
I intend to be doing very simple things with whatever MF unti I end upw ith -- no printing or scanning over the network. I'm happy to connect it directly to my computer via USB. So I'm not sure I'd experience the problems you are having.
Maybe I should go w/ one of these Brother units? Is there anyone on this board that can attest to these machines working with MacBook Pros?

  • Looking for a printer/scanner that works with Time Capsule

I recently purchased a Canon MP250 printer/scanner, 1 GB Time Capsule, and two iMac's (21.5 and 27). I connected the printer/scanner to the Time Capsule USB port and it was absolutely trivial to get both iMac's to print to the MP250. My problem is that I can not figure out how to get the scanner to save scanned image files to either iMac.
If I plug the Canon MP250 directly into either iMac, it is trivial to scan. Pressing the SCAN button on the MP250 causes the Image Capture application to launch on the iMac, and then you simply press the Scan button of the Image Capture application.
If it is not possible to scan connecting the Canon MP250 to the Time Capsule, is there another model of printer/scanner that will work as a scanner when connected to the Time Capsule?
    Thanks,
    Carroll

If it is not possible to scan connecting the Canon MP250 to the Time Capsule, is there another model of printer/scanner that will work as a scanner when connected to the Time Capsule?
The USB port on the Time Capsule will only support compatible printers. It will not support other functions such as copy, fax, scan or maintenance. If you need these services, your only option is to connect the all-in-one directly to a computer.

  • HT3669 I am looking for a Printer which has the "Booklet" option built in with drivers that work with os Mountain Lion 10.8.3

I need the booklet option on a printer (laser or inkjet) but am unable to find with a driver for my imac os10.8.3

So from your post I would assume that you have a file consisting of separate pages, such as a eight page Word document, and you want to be able to print this as a booklet. Do you want the booklet folded and saddle stitched as well?
I've seen this facitlity on copier-based office devices that have a mechanical saddle-finisher/booklet unit. But I have not seen a consumer product with the same.
If you are happy to fold the printed pages into a booklet, and you don't have more than four pages so stapling is not necessary, then there could be software available that will change the page order and print the individual pages in a 2-up mode in the correct order (ie pages 1 & 4 on the outside and pages 2 & 3 on the inside). A quick search found Create Booklet for Mac.

  • Current Recommended Printer/Scanners that Work with Tiger?

Have scoured this forum and have been reading of the problems of printers that don't work (seems to be primarily Epson).
My dad-in-law has an older (non-Intel) iMac w/10.4.11 installed.
His HP printer/scanner failed, and we need a new one.
Preferrably under $150. (His failed printer is still available but at a cost of over $400.)
Taking his iMac beyond Tiger is not a great solution for us. We are dealing with an elderly gentleman,
and, well, changes are difficult to make for him.
    Any recommendations? Epson? HP? Canon?
We've already tried a new Epson Work-Force...being told by sales guy it would work, and it clearly didn't (and confirmed by Epson). That was the wf-2520 in case anyone cares.
    Thanks kindly everyone!

For future readers of this thread, here are a couple of other avenues to look into.  Refurbished models from some of the big box retailers on-line may be older discontinued models that support older OS versions.
To find out if a particular older model supports the OS you need, check the  support web site from the printer manufacturer to see what driver downloads are available.  You might be able to find  drivers for OS 9 or 10.4, for example for an HP or Brother refurbished printer on staples.com, for example.

    Hi condor,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
I believe the right model name of your unit is SVT15112CXS and not SVT15112CSX. Based on eSupport website, the drivers and software for Windows 10 will be released on November 2015. Those drivers are specifically made for Windows 8, but I am glad that it works well with Windows 10. You may stick with these and wait for the updated drivers once released and install on your laptop.
Thank you for posting your experience condor.  You post might be very helpful to other users experiencing the same issue. I'll bookmark this thread for future reference.

  • Printer Drivers Not Working with Leopard

I downloaded the Oki C5150n driver for Intel Macs and they don't work properly with Leopard. I need to use the bypass feed, but the drop down menu to choose the paper source only drops partway down not allowing any choices.
This is only happening with CS and CS3. The printer works fine with MS Office.
I have the Oki driver on my Macbook Pro and it works fine, but I'm running Tiger on the Macbook Pro.
    Any Help would be appreciated.

Same issues here...same setup. This has been an intermittent issue for some time now. My latest incident was when power was lost during one of the big snow storms. Print jobs hang when going trough Time Capsule (wired or wireless) but are fine if plugged into computers USB port. I have resolved this issue before by following similar steps outlined above, but the solution seem to be hit or miss.

  • TX1120US, Windows 7 RC and drivers that work

Is HP planning on offering Windows 7 drivers that work with the TX1120US Pavilion Laptop?  I was recently warned that my Windows 7 Beta needed to be upgraded to Windows 7 RC (by Microsoft) and so.... I forged ahead.  However, many of the devices on the TX1120US are not working?  A big for instance, I tried to use my projector with the Windows 7 OS and the projector did not recognize any signal coming fromt the VGA port.  Another is that I can't adjust the display from standard VGA!. Other items don't work either.  I tried using Vista 32 drivers and the install program for the drivers stated that the OS (Windows 7) was not recongized.  Help!
    Thanks

I installed 7RC on my tx1120, and had similar problems, then today when I ran Windows Update there were two sets of drivers from Nvidia that clear up most of the problems I was having with drivers on the TX -- including the screen resolution problem you mentioned.  There is still one driver missing -- (i.e. one "unknown device") I keep on getting the "dingdong" sound when a USB device is inserted -- I suspect a problem with USB drivers is causing this... however, it doesn't really interfere with my usage of the TX.  The touch screen is working, to the extent that I've tried it, I never use the touch screen for entering text.
On another thread, I noticed an HP support person chime in that HP would offer an upgrade path when Microsoft releases 7 later this year.
