HP Printer Remote

I installled the new HP Printer Remote on my HP 5510 printer. Nothing prints, and the error says that the printer is no longer installed. It also says that I need the app to print. Does anyone have a work-around

Hi @watermaccasin,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I understand that you installed an app on your Photosmart 5510 printer that is not working as you expected.
To better assist you, would you please supply some additional information?
How is the printer currently connected (USB cable or wireless)?
What is the name of the app that you installed on the printer?
What operating system are you using on your computer where it is saying that the printer is no longer installed?  whatsmyos.com
Are you trying to print from a mobile device to your printer? If yes, does your mobile device use an Android operating system or is it an Apple mobile device?
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,

     When running HPAiO Printer Remote,  if I click on "Set Preferences" I'm told....Your printer settings are password protected. use your printer control panel to change setting. How do I do this? The control panel display only shows....
    Control panel display: Indicates the number of copies, media error, and wireless signal strength.

    Hi,
    For Windows 8.1, your printer has proper Software and drivers which come with the CD, why you need to use HP AiO printer remote ? And you can only set few things: Country, Language and Auto turn off after a period. All main Preferences should be done on software and drivers on your computer not AiO Remote app.

    Hi @EslamHassan
    Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that you have a question regarding the HP All-in-One Printer Remote app.
    The LaserJet M127fw printer is not a supported printer for the HP AiO app. I have included the HP Printers and Supported Mobile Printing Solutions document for reference.

  • Print remotely from a IPad to a portable / mobile printer.

    Hi
    You may be able to advise on something for printing from an IPad. Have searched discussion boards and all the comments are about 12 months old so there may be a fresh solution.
    Situation is that my son teaches music at many varied locations, and he wants to print remotely from a IPad to a portable / mobile printer where potentially there is no WiFi.
    If a wifi network is needed then he can set up 1 from his IPhone 4.
    Unfortunately Apple store staff look at disbelief that you want to print from an IPad whilst you are away from your home wifi network. Is that not the beauty of IPad?
    Anyhow is there any after market products that can assist in this situation. Or advise on a compact printer that uses AirPrint, the current printers are bulky, with the current mobile printers from HP and Canon not being capable of solving the issue.
    Thank you

    HP makes a product that enables their mobile printers for use with iPad. There is a video here describing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zVfCpT4X84

  • Why can't I print remotely through Airport Extreme or Airport Express?

    I am currently on a WEP-protected network and can no longer print remotely. (The Airport Express worked fine on my last network which wasn't WEP protected). I can't even get the Airport Utility to find either my Airport Extreme base station or my Airport Express. I cannot remove the WEP protection from the network. I have tried plugging the printer into the Airport base station directly and still no printing. Why does the problem seem to be connected to WEP protection and what can I do about it?

    The WEP key has to entered onto the Airport Express through the Admin Utility. Find the key on your router, and then copy and paste the key into Express. If that doesn't work, try putting a $ in front of the WEP key on the Express.

  • How do I connect my printer remotely

    WHat must I change on my Mac to print remotely ?

    When you say remotely, if you mean while away from the network in question (i.e. print to a printer at your house from work or something along those lines), then you cannot do so without the use of a VPN setup, but for the novice user, the best solution would be an ePrint capable printer from HP.  At that point you could print to your printer via a simple email sent to it once your ePrint services have been enabled and set up properly.

  • HT4356 can i airprint to my airprint printer remotely, with ipad, from another wifi connection or only when i am within my own network?

    can i airprint to my airprint printer remotely, with ipad, from another wifi connection or only when i am within my own network?

    Air print, and the normal hp airprint set up requires that the pad and the printer be on the same wifi net work.  The 'connecting' is done by your router.  That means remote printing wont work with the out of the box stuff.  I think you might find some 3rd party apps that do support remote  printing, but i have not seen any reports from users that found a really good solution.  Print n share reads like it might work, i am sure some users will chime in.

  • Print Remotely using Port Forwarding

    Hello,
    What I'm aiming to do is to be able to print lecture notes and assignments from University using my printer at home.
    Currently I have 'Printer Sharing' turned on in System Preferences and have setup the appropriate permissions for myself. Also, in the Airport Extreme utility I have attempted to setup a port forward for that particular printer.
    Can someone tell me whether in the 'Private IP Address' field on the Port Mapping Setup Assistant, do I put the IP of the Printer on the network? and setup a DHCP reservation for the printer to ensures it get's assigned the same IP address (based on MAC address)?
    Also, when I have done this, how would i go about printing then? How would I find the printer at home to be able to print remotely from it when I'm at University?
    Thanks in advance.

    in the 'Private IP Address' field on the Port Mapping Setup Assistant, do I put the IP of the Printer on the network
    Think about it. That will direct any print jobs from the outside world directly to your printer, bypassing any concept of 'security' you might have. You've now just given every script kiddie and his dog the ability to print on your printer. I hope you have shares in the ink companies.
    If you really, really want to do this, you need to forward the port to your server. Only there will the user credentials be validated. Even then, I wouldn't recommend doing this (the print jobs are not encrypted so you run the risk of someone else sniffing your account details, especially if you using wireless networks.. on a school campus?? :: shudder ::
    Also, when I have done this, how would i go about printing then? How would I find the printer at home to be able to print remotely from it when I'm at University?
    Go to System Preferences - > Print and Fax, and click the + button to add a new printer. Click the 'IP' option and enter the public IP address of your home network. If the port forwarding is setup correctly, this should then forward to your print server and you should be good to go.

  • 141026-08 print patch nobanner - hpnpf failed printing remote print jobs

    Hi,
    after updating patch "141026-08" I can't no more print from remote hosts to central print server (with remote hp laserjet);
    means print from other servers => to print server where all jobs are distributed => to network attached printers:
    /opt/hpnpl/bin/hpnpf -j gogh-247 [email protected] -w -o/opt/hpnpl/tmp/jadump -a1 -x gogh -s /var/tmp/gogh.log
    02/15 16:18:37: printer fault. type: mail root, status: c
    msg: (hpnpf: cannot access file [email protected])
    note: gogh -> name of the network printer here;
    As you can see the first parameter '-j' contains white spaces "gogh-247 [email protected]" and so the script failed;
    -> This does not happen when I print any file on the "print server" locally;
    -> This does not happen when starting printing with option nobanner: "% lp -d gogh -o nobanner file.ps"
    Workaround :?
    I have removed patch "141026-08" and it work like years before.
    Any comments ?
    Mfg/Regards

    If the RIP is an EFI Fiery product, then the LPD queue name has to be entered when you create the printer queue. If it is not Fiery, it still may require some specific queue name to print.
    If any Mac is still printing to the RIP, you can check what queue name has been used via a browser. For the URL, enter http://127.0.0.1:631/printers to open the CUPS printer page. Scroll through to the Xerox and have a look at the Device URI. If it shows something like lpd://ip_address/print, then you know a queue name is required - in the case of the Fierys it has to be print or hold and it must be entered in lower case.
    As for the IPP, you may find that this service has not been enabled or does not exist on the RIP.

  • Cannot print remotely with new Wireless HP Officejet 4630

    My old HP printer died last week, which is okay because I was in need of a new one. I chose the HP Officejet 4630 because it had the wireless printing option and was a 4-in-1. I work from home and I remote in to my office computer in another location. With my old hp printer, I was able to print but was connected with a USB cable. With this new wireless printer I cannot print from my remote location. I have tried a few times, restarted the computer and printer but it still does not print. I am able to choose my printer when I am logged into my work computer remotely. This is a big issue as I need to print reports at home from my computer at work. I am using Windows 7  and I've printed the wireless network test results which came back A-OK. Has anyone else had this issue and figured out how to print? When I look at the printer queue there is nothing...
    Please Help!
    Thanks

    I just want to add that I am able to print wirelessly from my computer but not when I am remoting in to my work computer.
