HP printer spitting out extra pages

Anyone else experience this: When printing from the web, my HP printer spits out a bunch (say 3-4) of blank pages and then prints the page(s) that are specified.
(Apparently I'm full of printing issues lately...)
Any suggestions? It does it regardless of browser. (netscape, safari and foxfire)

Not recently, but I can tell you that my Epson printer prints web pages perfectly. It's worth a shot, however, so I'll try it. Ya never know.

I have HP Photosmart Premium. Everytime I do a print job my printer spits out extra paper. Sometime it says something Like Page 2 of 2 and other time it is just blank , Some of the pages have a gray line across the bottom. I try to reuse what I can, but would like to know how to stop this.

Typically this is an error in the software connection with the printer. However, one can test this to narrow the issue down by printing a self test page or by making a copy with the printer. If the unit produces no extra pages, then most likely it is coming from the computer.
If you are USB connected, then I would advise unplugging the USB cable to the printer and restarting the PC. While the PC is restarting, I would advise performing a Hard Reset to the printer.
* Unplug printer while powered on
* Unplug other end of power cord from wall outlet
* Wait 30 seconds
* Plug unit back in for power

Printer spits out blank pages v8.1.3

When I hit print button, my printer spits out blank pages
(about the same number as there are pages in the pdf document). The
printer works fine with other programs (Word, Excel etc.) but not
with the Acrobat 8.1.3
What gives?

Yahoo has been changing its mail design. Are you trying to print from the "print optimized" view (which opens in a pop-up window or separate tab)? Depending on which version of Yahoo mail you have, this may be on the "More" menu or somewhere else. (Sometimes I get a popup block; in that case, trying again works for me.)

When Firefox produces a blank page printing a selection, this could be because the selection is laid out "off" the page (e.g., to the side or on a later page). The position of the selection on the page depends on how the page was laid out by the site design. Firefox sometimes will isolate the selection at the beginning of the print job, but very often will keep it within the original layout and simply blank the rest of the content. This can be wasteful or even useless.
Here are some workarounds:

How can I print directly out of Pages on my iPad?

How can I print directly out of Pages on my iPad if my Brother printer is not airprint compatible? I currently have a Brother MFC-J615W and have downloaded the Brother iPrint app; but that only works with pictures and PDFs it seems. I know I can use the cloud to transfer and just print from my macbook, but I am starting school and would love to cut out that middle step if possible. I know... how lazy is that? But I feel like I should be able to make it work with a little ingenuity. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Third party cleaning utilities are not necessary on a Mac and can only cause problems.

Growl is un necessary and can slow the system down > Growl - Removing Growl
If you want to monitor the system, use the pre installed Activity Monitor app located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Then restart your Mac.

Printing from firefox spits out extra blank page

When I print from Firefox my printer firsts spits out a blank page before printing what was expected.

I have a similar issue -- a page before is printed and after the actual document.
yes -- the blank page appears in preview. I was able to get rid of the first one with this CSS:
@media print {
body * { float: none !important; }
But I still get the blank page afterwards.
Not sure why, but I'll let you know if I find anything else

HP Photosmart 6510 not printing black ink at all, spitting out blank pages

Hey,
My printer was working til I switched black cartridges cuz I was very low on ink and then tried to print and it won't print anything that is black or even greyscale, colors are working fine but I don't have enough color ink to print the documents I need for school. I have tried cleaning printheads multiple times, tried venting the cartridge and everything, don't know what to do, HELP !!!

Have you completed all of the steps in the following document; Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages.

Printer spewing out blank pages

hi. suddenly yesterday when i try to print anything from my documents which i use microsoft office 2010 , it is spewing out blank pages.
it sounds as if it is printing but nothing comes on the paper, i have new inks in and if i use a craft program it will print.
i have done the help doctor program and it says eveything is okay and prints a test paper
anyone any ideas please

Does this printer have a removeable print cartridge and was there a long period of time that the printer was not used? Have you tried performing the automated print-head cleaining? Do that three times as well.

Printer shoots out blank pages

When I try to print from the internet (articles, plane boarding pass, etc) the printer shoots out 3-4 blank pages. I must email everything to myself and then print from that account. How can I print directly from the internet (steps required)?

Sometimes web pages won't print their content
consistently, so making a pdf of the page first
may help; and notice when you go to print a
page that was saved as PDF if the file page
looks blank to the print section's Preview.
Sometimes even PDFs look blank to Preview
mode in the print section, of the web page
content is not something readily seen by the
browser and Preview.
And on occasion, using a different browser
may help. For general pdf issues, if Preview
will not give you a good result, try Acrobat's
Reader. They've renamed it a few times, and
some files still prefer that over Preview in OSX.
On rare occasions, I have had to make screenshot
images of web pages to get a printable content.
That is OK, as far as one can drag to select; since
the page will not scroll when trying to get a larger
than desktop size screenshot selective capture.
There has to be a more definitive answer to this.
In Panther, it was not as apparent; in Tiger it is.

Why does my hp d7260 printer spit out a blank page each time one is printed?

Often the printer will print out the desired page and than a eject the next page (blank with no intention of printing on it). It will have a blank page between each multipage printing. It always does this on printing from my wife's computer and sometimes from mine. The printer is connected to our home network. I am using xp and my wife is using vista. I haven't kpet track of every incident from my computer but usually printing something from my browser. I run the paper through again so it is not a waste but just a pain.

This sounds like an issue that could result from having A4 sized paper but having the printer settings set for A size. Please check the paper settings.

My HP PSC 2175 printer spits out blank paper while I try to print.

I have Windows XP service pack 3. My printer(HP PSC 2175 All-in-one) use to work well until few days before. I leave the printer unused for few days and now when I came back to use it , it simply picks up paper scans( a ledger like light runs to and fro at the top end of paper) and spits the paper out.This only happens when I try to print. I can still make black copies well from the same machine. I only have Note pad and Word Pad. It does the same with both. I tried with pdf document too. It still persists its problem. But if I open the Hp service tool box through printing preference and print the test page it prints.
I have tried every thing that I can do. I've repalced the new cartiage, uninstalled the existing driver softer and installed new from hp website. Updated them and what not.
Can you tell me what is wrong with my printer? pls.

It looks like you've tried some of the troubleshooting steps listed in this document, but there are a few more to try first. Click on the + besides the XP section and follow the steps in order. See if this helps, if it doesn't I'll look for some more.

Xerox Printer prints, but out comes pages and pages of garbled information!

My office Xerox (DocuPrint 210) printer isnt on the list. And i have downloaded the drivers and installed them but it doesnt show up on the list either. However before i upgraded to SL, the printer worked perfectly! i forgot what settings i put and what driver i used to get it working correctly.. I dont have a backup and i've wasted a few rims of paper just trying to print one test page.. I've tried all the Generic drivers and some dont work, some just print out garbage. HELP!

Ahh.. finally got it solved after going rounds and rounds of useless printing.
Tried everything from reseting settings, deleting folders, reinstalling, downloading the drivers from the xerox website.. bla bla all didnt work for me.
Went here;

downloaded these..

They must be installed in the order above or they wont install.
Then add new printer, IP, put in the IP, driver selected HP Laserjet Series PCL 6 CUPS. and it printed like new again.
I so thought i needed to throw away SL and downgrade back to Leopard.

My printer spits out a blank sheet using Firefox but prints correctly using Safari.

Using a laptop with Vista, printing to hp 5100 works with Explorer or Firefox 3.6.6 but with my eMac OS X 10.5.8 only Safari prints - Firefox 3.6.6 gives a blank sheet!!
== Shortly after upgrade from 3.6.4 but I downloaded 3.6.4 again and I still had the same problem so I downloaded 3.6.6 and I can,t print data - preview openp Adobe Reader which shows a blank!!
