HP printers won't work with windows 7

I have two HP printers a laserjet 1200 series and Photosmart C5540 all in one.
I can print single pages ONLY on the 1200. If i try to print multiple pages all I get page after page with a single line of hyrogliphics. I don't know if I spelled that right but it's just a line of hearts and triangles and such.
I can't even get the HP Solution Center software to install on Window 7. I downloaded the full feature from HP. Tired to install the software. It either will not completly install or upon reboot gives a fatal error message and the computer goes into a loop of restarting, fatal error popup and restarting again.
I've installed the software from my manufacturers CD with the same result. I have installed and uninstalled numerous times but with the same result.
I have a Dell Insprion 5050 running windows 7.
Please help as I'm about ready to turn my all in one printer into a door-stop.

My former computer ran XP with no printing problems (now no longer supported my MS)

I have the same problems The wizard or pc Dr or software dr all quit
My interenet speed is sufficent to download so there should not be a problem
I have plenty of download room what is the problem? anyone know?

Mine crashed once with new update, but working fine.
I had to delete old printer, restart iMac, and then reinstall
new drivers to get it to work. Would not complete without

HP LaserJet 6L won't work with Windows 8

Right I inherited this great little printer last year, it worked great with Windows 7 but now it wont work with Windows 8, it appears to be installed and the drivers are all up to date but when I use it to print a pile of random characters come out on the pages and doesn't stop. I've reinstalled it and installed it again and again every different way but it just doesn't work and HP says that it is compatible (there is a green tick beside it somewhere on your website). Could it be that I'm using a cable that is parallel at the printer end and USB at the computer end that is at fault?

I had the same problem, and fixed it.
Control Panel - Devices and Printers
Click on "Add a Printer"
Click on "The printer that I want isn't listed"
For USB connection, choose "Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings"
Pick an existing port. I use a cable that has LPT port at one end, USB at the other end. So my choice is USB001 (Virtual printer port for USB)
Now you see the list of manufacturers and models. Before doing anything, click on "Windows Update" and let it run (takes a few minutes)
Once the update is complete and you're back to the list of manufacturers and models, select HP as the model, and select HP LaserJet 6L as the printer. Without Windows Update, it will only show "HP LaserJet 6L PS Class Driver", which causes the problem. Stick to "HP LaserJet 6L"
The rest is straight forward. Print a test page and check if it comes out right. Good luck!!

HP Officejet 6500A Plus won't work with Windows 10

Help!! Officejet 6500Aplus won't print with windows 10. Every aplication just spits out blank pages when you print.

I have the same issue with my OJ 6500 (network connected). And I've been just been sent on a wild goose chase to install the support assistant - which didn't actually resolve my issue. When I go directly to the drivers, it recognizes my OS as Windows 10, but doesn't give me a matching driver package to download... How/when will this be resolved? Does anyone have a workaround?If I knew that my printer/scanner doesn't work anymore I certainly wouldn't have upgraded to Windows 10. Win 8.1 wasn't perfect, but at least everything worked... Thanks for any suggestions!

Adobe 6.0 won't work with windows 98

I bought 6.0 without reading the fine print. When I tried to install it, I found out that I need Windows 2000 or higher. I can't upgrade to windows 2000 due to conflicts with other programs I'm running. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make 6.0 work with WIndows 98, or how to get an older version of Adobe?

HP Solution Center won't work with Windows 7

Are there any current workarounds to using the HP Solution Center (for scanning / faxing / printer) for HP Printers with Windows 7 ?
I have an HP Photosmart C7280 (wireless), have installed, re-installed, un-installed, installed from hp.com, installed from CD from HP, and the Windows 7 drivers for my HP printer over-ride the HP drivers.
I have followed every single firewall configuration for the HP printer software, network configuration, wireless modifications, etc, but windows 7 drivers always over-ride the hp. Either the HP Full Install crashes with fatal errors during installation, or it will work for 5 minutes, and when I reboot the laptop or turn the printer on, the HP Solution Center will share that the installation is incomplete, and to run the setup again.
Although I love my new HP Pavilion Entertainment PC with Windows 7, I'm frustrated that my pile of paperwork to scan cannot be done until the HP "all-in-one" printers are compatible with Windows 7. I can print, but am not able to do anything else.

I ran the update and then firefox stopped working completely ggot a message about .dll that won't work with windows. tried toreinstall new copy of latest but they won't.

I just ran the update to .4 as the dialog box said to. Now firefox won't work at all. Nothing happens I get a message about a .dll file that is incompatible. Tried to doanload a new copy but that doesn't get any further starting to extract files then it fails to finish. Any thing I can do or have I lost evrery thing including my bookmarked sites?

Morbus! It worked like you said. Anyway I think the problem starts with maybe needing to completely clean up my OS and drives as they keep "filling up" real fast - much faster than my usage. Uninstall wouldn't work so I just oened up programs and fond the .exe and then deleted it. Scary moment as I really have seen others so mess up everything doing this but download went well of new copy and yes I have all my bookmarks and settings. YAYS!! so thank you again. Also running so much faster and no glitches like tabs not working th way they should. In end I think I need to get an upgrade from Vista home basic. and just then add my files one at a time to see how all goes.

HP Laserjet P1006 won't work with Windows 8.1

I have an HP Laserjet P1006 which I installed on my new Windows 8 laptop. Everything was working fine. I did an update last night to 8.1. The printer no longer works. I went to the website and downloaded the latest driver which said it would work with 8.1. After it was installed the printer still would not work. When I go to the control panel and see the printer it still tells me no driver is found. HELP

I understand you are no longer able to print with the P1006 on Win8.1.
Did you uninstall the P1006 first?
If not uninstall and reinstall the printer software again.
Both drivers are the same if you look at the version on the website and should still work with the Win8.1.

Crysis Warhead 64-bit Won't Work with Windows 7 64-bit Under Boot Camp

Hi. I installed the patch 1.1 for Crysis Warhead which has the 64-bit version of the game which I'm running under Windows 7 64-bit on Boot Camp and I've tried the the compatibility mode (Vista to Vista SP2). I've also updated the ATI drivers as well as the Boot Camp drivers. I'm using the latest Snow Leopard.
When I click on the game's application (64-bit version), it would launch then it goes black with just the mouse cursor (you can move it about) which seems to be in low resolution and I guess it would crash so I would push the button on this late iMac 2009 and Windows would go back to the desktop then shutdown.
Has anyone made Crysis Warhead 64-bit work with Boot Camp Win7 64-bit with this iMac (it has the ATI 4850)? Is this because it's Boot Camp or that it's Windows 64-bit or is it the ATI graphics chip? Thank you in advance. Gbu.

since bootcamp allows windows to run natively, it's not an imac issue, but rather an issue with your windows, so you probably get better answers in a windows forum or the crysis forums.
in any case, installing newer ATI drivers (ati.com) might help, but it's just a wild guess

Airport Utility won't work with Windows 8

With Windows 8 I can't get Airport Utility versions 5.5.3 or 5.6.1 to recognize my airport express when wireless. It can see it if I connect it to the computer with Ethernet. Another computer with Windows 7 works just fine. Any idease on how to fix this?

We have seen a number of reports from users on this topic....with many more expected. The bottom line appears to be that Windows 8 is not fully compatible with any current AirPort Utility software.
Hopefully, Apple will provide an udpated version for Windows 8 soon.

Airport Extreme won't work with windows computer?

I can't get airport extreme to work with my other computer which is a windows machine. The windows machine can't find the network address. Sometime it does find an address and appears to be connected, however I cannot connect to the internet with that machine. My Mac does work and connect to the internet. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

I have a toshiba laptop and it works prefectly with a conceptronic usb card. But you must set up the Base Station only with the default options. I mean that you can not hide the SSID, or make an access control with Airport Extreme. You only set up the default options and it works perfectly. When I try to place an access control or hide the network then it doesn´t work and wait an ip as you say in your post.
If you want to connect from Windows to the Base Station you need to close your firewall and no other cable into the Airport Extreme, only the cable that you are connecting to access the Base Station. And it will work.

I have a new Dell, Windows 7. IE and Chrome work beautifully (I had to install these to get onto the Internet since Mozilla won't work). Older versions of Mozilla worked for a few seconds, but then the auto update kicked in (to 5.0). I even tried to stop the auto updates immediately after installing an earlier version, that didn't work either. Mozilla will not allow me to enter text, lets me enter a few letters then freezes.
