Recently printer stopped printing. Print jobs show up in the print spooler & after about 1 minute, error code 28 comes up. I have to clear queue. Next print job does same thing. I know my printer is Ok since I can print jobs from other Pc running win xp. I ran many HP on line tools to fix problem but to date no fix. Even reloaded drivers. Thanks, Mr_BobMy Pc is a Dell 570 win 7 pc

Hi , I see by your post that you are getting a "Print Spooler v28" error. I would like to help you. Looking at the title, it looks like you have the USB connected to the router. This can cause intermittent issues and it may or may not work. Connect the printer directly to a wall outlet and connect the USB cable to the computer. (not a docking station or hub, router) The USB cable shouldn't be longer then 6 feet. Clear the Spool folder and restart the Print Spooler, to see if that will help. How to Clear Current Print Queue In Windows Vista & Windows 7. If the issue persists, download and run the Print and Scan Doctor, it will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below. • Print spooler error 0x800706b9

I have a Microsoft Windows 8.1 and an HP Desktop 2512.  My computer no longer recognizes my printer. I keep receiveing a print spooler error 0x800706b9  I have tried the net start spooler command but that has been unsuccessful. What next? Please help!

Hey , Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are no longer able to print from your Windows 8.1 computer to your HP Deskjet 2512 All-in-One Printer as your computer is reporting a 'Print Spooler Error: 0x800706b9'. I would like to assist you today with resolving this Print Spooler error. Now, just so you are aware, the Print Spooler is a feature of your Operating System. It is built into your Windows computer. Essentially, it is the print system built into your computer. Printers rely on the Print Spooler to be functioning in order to print. The Spooler is not specific to HP. Therefore, I will be able to offer you some standard computer troubleshooting steps. However, should the issue persist you may need to speak with Microsoft Support or the manufacturer of your computer to resolve this Operating System issue. With that being said, can I please have you follow the steps below to resolve this issue.  Step 1: Check Print Spooler: Open your Start screen by selecting the Windows button on the bottom left hand side of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl buttonIn the Start screen type RunClick on Run to launch the Run dialogue boxIn the Run box type services.msc and select OKWhen the Services window opens scroll down until you see Print SpoolerClick on Print Spooler once just to highlight itIf you see Start in the top left hand corner than that indicates that  your Print Spooler is in fact Stopped (not good). But we will leave this for now.If you see Stop or Restart in the top left hand corner than this indicates that your Print Spooler is actually Started. Please click on Stop to temporarily Stop the service.Minimize this window as we will  need to come back here Step 2: Check Spooler Folder: Reopen your Start screenType Computer. Click on Computer (or This PC) when it populates as a resultIn the Computer window select your C DriveClick on WindowsClick System32Click SpoolClick PRINTERS. You may get a permissions warning, just Continue past this. The PRINTERS folder should be empty. If there is any files in here they are corrupted print jobs. Right click on anything in this folder and 'delete' the files.Close the PRINTERS folder Step 3: Start Spooler and Check Dependencies:  1. Reopen the Services window we previously minimized 2. Click on Print Spooler again to highlight it 3. Click on Start in the top left corner 4. If you get an error message please take note of it 5. If the Print Spooler starts successfully you will see 'Stop and Restart' as your options in the top left 6. Next, double left click on Print Spooler. A Print Spooler Properties window will now open. Click on the Log On tab at the top. Can you please make sure this is set to Local System Account and make sure the box is checked to 'Allow Service to Interact with Desktop'. 7. Next, click on the 'Dependencies' tab. Please check what Dependencies are listed. I will need to know this should the issue persist once you complete the steps I'm providing in this post.   8. Click Apply and OK for any changes you may have made under the Log On tab. Close the Services window.  Once the Print Spooler Service has started successfully you should be able to access your HP Deskjet under the Devices and Printers folder on your Windows 8.1 computer. You should also be able to print. Can I please have you test printing at this point to confirm that the Print Spooler error has been resolved. Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Best of luck!

  • Printer spooler error when attempting to install Acrobat Pro (also Reader)

I tried to install the trial version of Acrobat Pro today.  Installation would not complete due to an inability to stop the print spooler.
After this failure to install, I was no longer able to access my printer via the previously installed Acrobat Reader.  I uninstalled Reader and attempted to reinstall it, only to discover the same print spooler problem.  Neither program will now install.
I am running the latest version of Windows 8.  Can anybody help?

After rebooting I successfully installed Acrobat Reader XI and established that it could contact the printer.
I then tried to install the trial version of Acrobat Pro XI.  The procedure was slightly different this time, as this time it went via Adobe Creative Cloud, but the installation failed.

  • Printer Spooler Error ???

I have a C5250 I've been using the past few years, today I tried to print something (fails with all programs) and I got the error message "Operation could not be completed.  The printer spooler service is not running".  When I look at my printers from the control panel I see none..?  I tried to reload my driver and it says a later version of that driver is already installed.  What's the problem, and the fix? Thanks for any help you can provide

  • I need help with a print spooler error message

Out of the blue I lost my printer connection.  When I look at my printer menu there is no printer listed.  When I try to add or install a printer, I get some odd message about a printer spooler is not running.  Restart the machine.  I've tried unhooking the printer, rebooting, unhooking from the power source.  I even went into some area as an administrator and found the print spool task and when I clicked on the start button there was no action.

This is a MS Windows issue. Try this:
    Right click on My Computer
    Select Manage
Double click on Services and Application
    Double click on Services
Scroll down to Print Spooler and double click on it
    Click on Dependencies tab
Check what dependencies the print spooler has, if any you may need to click on + on those dependencies to more dependencies
Go back to the Services list
On each of the spooler dependencies, double click on it
Make sure it is set to Automatic in the Startup Type drop down menu
Now click on Start to start the service
    Click OK
    Now try and print.

  • Printing Spool Error

    Hi All,
While prinitng the Print goes to LP01 Printer.
If I give my printer LOCL in Own-Data I am able to get the print in LOCl.
If I do not give any default printer or own printer the print goes to LP01.
How do I identify where this default setting of LP01 is made.

    Hello,
If I do not give any default printer or own printer the print goes to LP01.
    - While printing, you should be getting "Print Screen List" where you need to provide output device. It does not allow you to move forward without giving output device. How you were able to get the print at LP01 without providing output device in print screen popup?
    Thanks,
    Siva Kumar

  • Print spooler log error ID 808 [Internet Explorer 11 + MS Office 2003-2007 x86 on Win7 sp1 x64 ONLY!]

    howdy all,
could you please help me to resovle the very much odd issue of IE11 on Win7sp1x64 as below.
Note: my original post @ MS support is here [oops, sorry, I'm not allowed to paste a normal link here] "http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11-windows_7/print-spooler-error-id-808-internet-explorer-11-on/f52ff25c-4702-4ce3-827e-e1e9a5d324cf"
and now it's a repost due to advice of MS MVP PA Bear.
    SUMMARY:
    my 1st post there:
    howdy all pros around,
i'd much appreciate any pro advice concerning the absolutely odd printer spooler issue as below.
sorry to post this again when there are a lot of look same cases available posted and discussed but now i shall insist that this is niether a printer driver nor a ms win7 spooler itself issue but the one of solely Internet Explorer 11
[11.0.9600.17041] installed onto fully updated Win7sp1x64(!) when i have 3 win7sp1 machines around and this issue doesn't occur on single 32-bit win7 pc!
the funniest point is that the issue doesn't prevent  both win7sp1x64 computers to print normally!
also this never occurs while printing any docs or even web pages from Google Chrome.
but it always appears in win7 admin logs twice(!) while printing any web page from IE11! although there is no problem if you print web page from IE11 to PDF file...
this never happened with IE8 before its update thru MS Update to IE11 a couple of days ago.

well, as far as i can see all binaries here are x64. moreover these files are same on another x64 pc and similar on x86 one but naturally x86 and located in another folder w32x86.
    my last post there:
    oops. action replay.
    1. z printer works well (i.e. printing anyting w/o any problem) on 3 PCs - 2 of 3 with win7sp1x64; and 1 of 3 - win7sp1x86. all 3 with IE11 installed.
    2. however BOTH (that is 2 of 3) above PCs of win7sp1x64 return errors to admin log every time when printing any web page from IE11. this occurs only if printing from IE11. non of other printing jobs are affected including a printing from Google
    Chrome and Opera.
    3. win7sp1x86 PC prints from IE11 w/o any errors in log!
    4. a quote from my initial post:

    appreciate.
    THANKS A LOT!
UPDATE! i'm sorry to provide you with a bit incomplete/incorrect error sympthoms.
this error is being returned to win7sp1x64 PCs print server logs not only while printing from IE11 but from MS Office 2003 & 2007 as well, however all non-MS applications to print out from (Adobe, ACDSee, Chrome, Opera, etc.) aren't affected at all.
also test page printing is always OK!
so i've amended the header of my post accordingly.
    thanks again!

    howdy Karen,
2 (two) PCs of quite similar win7sp1x64 config affected!
sorry but your kind prompt doesn't work. i've not only tried to remove all printers except AdobePDF Converter, CANVAS PS, Fax, MS XPS Writer in common way from Devices & Printers menu but also removed all their dependencies in Printer Server config menu
(access thru DOS printui /s /t2) except same AdobePDF Converter, CANVAS PS, MS XPS Writer (all x64 Type 3 - User Mode).
moreover i've managed to update the troubled core component thru a manual install of HP PLC6 Universal Driver, so now its updated as below:

  • Printer won't print, fixes won't fix! Reset the printer spooler dependencies to default.

Using a stand-alone Dell XPS 420 with Vista 32 bit and an OKI C1500 printer connected by USB. Always a problem getting the printer going after it has been disconnected, but this time it's a big problem! Get a printer spooler error message and it defaults
to 'use printer offline' so have:
restarted Printer Spooler in Services and set it to Automatic start and set it's Recovery to restart after each failure
rebooted, restored PC, power recycled printer, tried different usb slots, cable works OK
deleted printer driver in case it was corrupt and downloaded a new one
    applied the automatic Fixit programme
applied a fix to prnter dependencies resetting them to RPCSS
None of the above has worked.
Now I would like to know how to reset the default drivers for the spooler and find out the cause and how to fix the problem!
Recently removed a Trojan that hi-jacked 32Rundll and stopped Microsoft Security Essentilals from running.
I need any explanation in slow. simple dorkspeak like 'Step one: press down on the button with B on it'  or I won't understand!
A lot to to ask I guess! Thanks,

    Hi,
o to Start / Run and type in "services.msc" without quotation marks, then press Enter or click OK.
In the window that opens (Services) look for "Print Spooler" on the right
Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".
Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".
Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.
Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.
Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.
The Print spooler depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Is this service disabled? Go to services.msc look for RPC. Check state: Automatic

  • Windows 7 64 bit / Server 2012 R2 GUI - Type 4 Print Driver error "Cannot connect to the Printer" 0x00000002

Hello,  We have multiple Server 2003 Print server and are working on testing a Server 2012 print server.  We have run into an issue where a PRINTER (type 4, normal) works with our Windows 7 32 bit clients, Windows 8.1 64 bit clients and the
2012 R2 server, but when trying to install to a windows 7 64 bit clients using \\SERVER\PRINTER we are getting the above message.  (The printer is not offered currently in the directory).
I have been scouring the Google and Bing and have yet to find a satisfactory description that matches this issue.  Nor have I found other information that resolve this issue.  Like, blaming this on the spooler or DLL fixes or Reg hacks (applied
    on the client side).
Specifically, we have used the native 2012 R2 drivers "Ricoh Class Driver", "HP LaserJet 4240 PCL6 Class Driver" and "Xerox Phaser 6120 Class Driver"
If I use a Type 3 driver from Xerox I am able to print from the Windows 7 64 bit client to the print device, but I was hoping to get all of my clients onto 1 driver.  I understand that I might be able to use some sort of WMI filtering in our GPO
deployments for the Windows 7 64 bit clients when we go live but this sort of <gs class="GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark" ginger_software_uiphraseguid="55af8faf-887d-4ea5-9032-7c14b199df0f" id="db4a1e65-db1b-4c94-bd84-20ffc96288ce">henky</gs>.
Please, provide some knowledge.  Either a solution to this issue or acknowledgement that separate driver will be required.  Thank You!!!!!

    Hi,
Firstly, please run this "Fix It" tool (Full mode) to reset the print splooer and driver:
You experience Print Spooler error messages after installing or upgrading a Third-Party print driver
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793718
    And then follow this guide:

  • Windows 7 64bit Print spooler crash with Acrobat pro 9

i recently installed a new computer with windows 7 64 bit - also upgraded my old CS to CS 5.  whenever trying to print any .pdf or even look at the .pdf printer settings - my print spoller crashes and i have to go into system32/spool to fix
    has anyone seen this issue?

If you would like to find which printer driver cause the crash issue, I suggest you isolate each driver and run
    printing job. Please:
    1. Open mmc in Start Search box.
    2. Click File->Add/Remove snap-in
    3. Add "Printer Management". Click Add "The Local Server".
    4. Click Finish.
    5. Expand Print Servers->[server name]. Click on Drivers.
    6. Right-click on the first driver, choose "Set driver isolation"->"Isolated".
    7. Start a printing job.
    8. If the issue still occurs, change the isolation to System Default for this driver, then isolate the next driver
    and start printing job.
You can find which driver is the root cause.
You need to involve a Windows 7 compatible driver for Windows 7 clients. If the driver is packed, you can extract
the driver pack and add the driver from printer server console. However, if the driver is included in an
installation file, you may try the following method.
    1. Install the driver on one of the Windows 7 clients.
    2. Launch mmc from Start Search box.
    3. Click File->Add/Remove Snap-in.
    4. Add "Printer Management". Point to the server in "Specify the printer server".
    5. Expand "Printer Management"->"Printer Servers"->"Drivers".
    6. Right-click, then click "Add a driver".
Please follow the instructions to add the Windows 7 printer driver. After doing so the driver should be added into
    the server.
If the printer driver is not found, the driver should be not designed for enterprise environment. In this case you
may need to add the printer from the client side manually.

  • Spool Error - Errors occurred processing this print request

    Hi,
I have a problem printing documents through spool.
    1. I run a form from Form Builder, execute and select to print from spool
    2. In SP02, I select the spool request created and Select Direct Printing.
Spool request Status is changed to error and following is the error log.
I get this for all print requests from spool. When I print these documents directly, I have no problem. I understand there is some problem with the spool server but do not know what it is.
I also observed that when the spool access method is G - I have no problems in printing.

    Hi Sri,
Try to setup the printer at OS LEVEL.
    then,
    If on Windows---use method C.
    if not,
use method U and map to your printer queue at OS level.
    Hope this resloves this issue.

  • Print spooler log error ID 808 [Internet Explorer 11 + MS Office 2003 x86 on Win7 sp1 x64 ONLY!]

    howdy all,
Could you please help me to resovle the very much odd issue of HP Priner driver on Win7sp1x64 as below.
1.HP Deskjet 970Cse printer connected thru usb to a router and installed to all LAN PCs  thru a standard tcp/ip ports works well (i.e. printing anyting w/o any problem) on 3 PCs - 2 of 3 with win7sp1x64; and 1 of 3 - win7sp1x86. All 3 with
    IE11[11.0.9600.17041] recently(!) updated from IE8.
    2. However BOTH (that is 2 of 3) above PCs of win7sp1x64 return errors to admin log every time when printing any web page from IE11 and/or docs from Office as below:
    Error in short:
The print spooler failed to load a plug-in module C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64\3\UNIDRVUI.DLL, error code 0xc1. See the event user data for context information.
This error in log occurs only if printing from IE11 and/or MS Office. None of other printing jobs are affected including a printing from Acrobat, ACDSee, Google Chrome and Opera. The printing of Test Page by printer
    itself not affected as well!!!
    3. win7sp1x86 PC prints everything w/o any errors in log!
    4. Printer uninstall incl. cleaning of Print Server config + clean install doesn't work.

    7. I blame IE11 when there was no such error before its update from IE8.
    8. This is a re-repost from here "http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11-windows_7/print-spooler-log-error-id-808-internet-explorer/f52ff25c-4702-4ce3-827e-e1e9a5d324cf" and here "http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/7b24d6b9-171a-4703-82f9-81cb4732e02f/print-spooler-log-error-id-808-internet-explorer-11-ms-office-20032007-x86-on-win7-sp1-x64?forum=w7itproappcompat"
    w/o any good answer!
That's it. Any questions are welcome.
    Thank you.
PS: I just wanna confirm that this odd error occurs only when printing from IE11 and MS Office 2003 on Win7sp1x64. MS Office 2007 is not affected!

    OK, Z COMPLETE SOLUTION FOUND!
Although z cause of this odd issue is yet unclear. However it seems to be z HP driver problem after all.
Actually my printer is not HP Deskjet 970Cse but HP Photosmart 1115 Series. Z very nice working dinosaur, which was officially run out by HP Support from WinXPx86 times. Though it was always working
just nice with either HP Deskjet (DJ) 970Cse Win7driver (better) or HP Photosmart (PS) 7200 Series one (worse – when it works no so good with TCP/IP printer installation).
Well… when I got into z recent problem with DJ970cse driver I happened to check if printer works with z PS7200 one. Oops, same not good as before but NO LOG ERROR! A bit of study gave me understanding
that both drivers are using z absolutely same core files but PS7200 driver uses its own PCL Language Monitor as well as z Print Processor (not a standard winprint of Windows).
And while I unfortunately got no any reasonable ideas on how to solve this issue from IT Pros and others MS MVP during a few days after my posting here and there, except those very smart ones
like ‘uninstall, reboot and install again’, I had no option other than to find solution by myself.
I’ve downloaded a bunch of HP printer models Win7x64 driver pack from MS Update Catalog "http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=hp%20deskjet%20970cse" (x86 also available.
This driver pack is for maybe over 400 HP printer models incl. both DJ970Cse & PS7200) and modded its genuine INF file for HardwareID of my PS1115 as HPPHOTOSMART_11150FFF with use of 970Cse driver but also some DLLs and PCL Language Monitor
    of PS7200 one.
This modded by me INF file is attached as a Code Block. Pls be advised that all originally integrated printer devices strings except DJ970cse & PS7200 ones were deleted for convenience and
z 1 new combined string for PS1115 added. Then everybody interested can compare & track z changes done. This modded driver is now installed and working w/o any glitch on 2 of my Win7sp1x64 PCs. Although I’ve maybe spent totally a day or
so on all that fuss of posting about & studying around.
My final conclusion is z very much common one
     – f**k HP… and/or MS as well, when it’s yet unknown why this error occurred after z years of no problem use of DJ970Cse driver but after Win7sp1 updating to IE11 and/or KB2775511 and only with x64 version
    of OS.
    bye for now.
PS: btw, why I’m not able to attach any small text file or post a link to MS site here???!!!
    END
UPDATE 2014-06-12-Thu: there is one more small glitch of printing to paper from IE11 only found! now it's about a Print Processor settings...
pls set not any hp oem print processor but z standard windows one aka 'winprint' to be used for printing in Printer properties > Advanced sub-menu, otherwise a printout is incorrect in part of a printed page header &
footer. a page print preview is ok but z printed header is incomplete = cut at right side, and no footer printed at all.
pls be advised that above note is valid for both modded & genuine driver installed and for both x86 & x64 win7...

  • Acrobat 8.1.7 -- Error 1920.Service Print Spooler?

I have a valid key on an installed version of Adobe Acrobat 8.1.7. (AA8 Standard installed on a XP system)
It fails to create a PDF document and the Error 1920 apprears before it shuts down.
When, per representative suggestion, I attempt to uninstall it and then re-install with the valid key, it then reports:
Error 1920.Service Print Spooler (Spooler) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient priviledges to start system services.
I verified that I have a valid key on My Adobe using my email address, etc.
But I see no way out of this 'dead end'.
After attempting to remove or repair the installation in add/remove programs, I get the support info:
    Adobe Acrobat 8.1.7 - CPSID_50029
But when I go there I see nothing that tells me how to fix the problem.
How do I unstall and re-install this so I can continue to use my AA8 on my XP system?

    David:
I found that helpful input, yes.
The tech I spoke with told me to use a cleaner program to force erasure so
    I could reinstall it.
He failed to tell me that you better be sure you have your original disk,
because you can't download AA8 via a web.
The best solution is to upgrade, which I would be more likely consider if
some consideration were given for all the headaches of trying to get AA8
    back up and running.
The principal being "If you can't make what I already have work, why should
    I pay for your update?"
I will continue to look for the disc and let you know how that goes....
    Dave

  • Getting spool error when trying to use a network printer from a remote computer.

I have 2 HP deskjet printers attached to my computer.  One is a D4260 and the 2nd is an F4280 all in one.  I would like both of these printers to be available on our wireless network so that my girlfriend can use the printers from her laptop. The D4260 is working just fine but when I try to print to the all in one it looks as if it printed on her computer but I get a spooling error on mine and no printing.

Go to hp.com.au, top right corner select support & drivers
select software & driver download type in your printer name HP Deskjet F4280
then select your operating system-step 1
on step 2 select utility diagnostic tools, select HP Print Diagnostic Utility
run the software, select your printer, then diagnose...then select fix all
this software automatically detects spooler errors & fix them
just follow the instructions from the HP Print Diagnostic Utility
    good luck.
Although I am working on behalf of HP, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
