HP Pro 3330 MT and the AMD Radeon R9 285

I have the HP Pro 3330MT but its lacking a bit and i was hoping to upgrade it with a new graphics card.
Can the AMD Radeon R9 285 fit and function with this machine? If not, is there any similar Graphics Card that can work?
Help please

  • How do I tell Windows 7 to use the AMD Radeon HD 4850 for my OpenGL application?

I have a customer with a new MacBook Pro model that has both the processor embedded 'Sandy Bridge' graphics chip, and an AMD Radeon HD 4850 chip. He has used the Bootcamp utility to partition his hard disk and installed 64-bit Windows 7. He needed som help getting the Bootcamp drivers updated but now Windows 'sees' the better Radeon grphics chip. However, when running an OpenGL based application in Windows, the Bootcamp drivers are not switching on the Radeon graphics chip so my customer has disgustingly poor graphics performance on his beautiful new computer.
What needs to be done so he can use the OpenGL graphics capabilities of his new MacBook Pro?

As far as I can tell, switching of graphics calls from the POS Intel chip to the AMD/ATI chip is automatic, even for legacy (pre User Account Control aware) applications.
This is NOT true with computer with the Nvidia graphics chips. On these, UAC aware applications seem to generally work but legacy applications do not. They (Nvidia) supplies a tool called 'Optimus' that can be used to tell the OS what graphics chip to direct dispaly calls to based on the application you are starting.
What a mess. Why Apple chose to use these terrible embedded Intel 3000/4000 chips on an OpenGL based operating system like OS X completely baffles me. Anyone that buys a 13" Mac with only the Intel chip is going to be VERY dissappointed in the performance and stability of their applications.

  • How to turn on the AMD Radeon R7 M260 (2GB) on Thinkpad E450

Hello everyone, I have just bought a thinkpad laptop edge 450 . However, despite I have installed all the drivers that needed, the AMD Radeon R7 M260 (2GB) still couldn't be used. Instead, what is always in use is just the Intel graphic card, which has a poor display quality. I have tried to reinstall all the drivers several times, even the system. But it still doesn't work. Thus, I wonder if anyone know how to turn on the AMD Radeon R7 M260 (2GB)? Is there anything wrong with it? I am really looking forward to your reply. Thanks very much!

    Hi Guoftao,
    Welcome to Lenovo Forums!
To know if the card is currently enabled please go to:
Control panel > System > Device manager > Display adapters > Right click on your R7 M260 and check if it’s set to ‘Enabled’
You can also check the properties of the graphic card to see if it is listed as functioning correctly by Windows.
Please let us know whether the above steps helped you.
    Regards,
    Naveen.v

  • On Boot Camp, the AMD Radeon R9 M295X is reporting "Code 43" Problems.

I am on an iMac with Retina 5K display and in the latest build 9926, my graphics card is having problems. In the Device Manager the "AMD Radeon R9 M295X" is saying "Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems."
There has been no updates for this in Windows Updates.
I have installed the Boot Camp Support Software, but this did not fix the problem.
My graphics card worked perfectly in Build 9879.

    Hi,
In my opinion, since system threw the error message: "Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems." There is two possible reason of this problem:
    1. Driver compatibility problem, however, it's hard to make troubleshoot and fix this problem.
    2. Driver installed problem, we can resolve this problem by uninstall the problematic driver and reinstall a new version. You can follow the steps of the link below to reinstall the driver:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725873(v=ws.10).aspx
In addition, it would be better to use driver verifier to check current graphic card driver compatibility.

  • After Effects and enabling GPU with the AMD Radeon R9 M295X

I have the new 27in iMac with an AMD Radeon R9 M295x. As far as I can tell, I am limited to CPU rendering in After Effects.
I keep reading that GPU is available as long as I don't need CUDA and nVidia for Ray Tracing.
As it is, I'm only seeing CPU available. GPU is grayed out.

Show a screenshot of exactly what you're seeing that has you concerned. From your brief description, it seems that everything is functioning normally.

  • Macbook Pro 15-inch, Late 2011. I'm 100% certain that I bought it with the AMD Radeon HD 6770M graphics processor with 1GB of GDDR5. It says that I have HD Graphics 3000 384 MB. WHY?

I don't understand why my MacBook Pro 15-inch, Late 2011 version is reporting to me that I only have the Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB card in it. Why is this? When I bought it I was given the choice to choose between the 500 mb or 1 GB video card and I chose to pay extra in order to get the 1 GB, but now it says that I don't even have that( I can't find it anywhere). I never realized this until now. I was just looking at my specs again to make sure if my Macbook Pro was ready for the upcoming Mountain Lion OS. Please help me understand why this is happening. I'm 100% certain I bought the 1GB video Card and that my mac is supposed to have a quad core processor. I also ordered with the highest resolution screen available at that time which was something like an extra $100. I made sure that I had these extras because I wanted a mac that was going to perform great and not skip a beat. I have noticed it's been skipping here and there and I have been surpirsed at how slow it can get sometimes. I only have 4 GB ram at the moment, but I know that I can upgrade to 16 GB if I need to and have been contemplating on whether i should or not. I also like to do some gaming when I have the extra time and I've noticed that sometimes it has a hard time with some games. I bought this mac around January of this year. Is it possible that there was just a mess up in the shipping on the extras I had added? Thank you for your help.

  • Macbook pro mid 2012 and the airplay feature does not come up.  it comes up in itunes but not on the menu bar or in the displays settings.  What can i do?

I just bought my macbook pro 2 weeks ago.  I am new to apple so it is pretty much greek to me at this point but I have been able to figure out or google most of my questions.  I have found a million posts about the Airplay feature for mirrioring and most of them are the same issue having a mac that is pre 2011.  There should be no reason I would not have the Airplay option on my system.. I have done the updates avaliable for both the mac and the AppleTV unit, which is a Gen 2 or 3, Also brand new as of 2 weeks ago.  Does anyone know what else I can do or is this something I will have to take in the the Apple Store to fix?
