HP pro 6200/6300 sff Change product name in bios remotely

Hi,
Is it possible to change the product name in the bios massivly or remotely?
Because a lot of mainboards has been replaced by hp and they didn't set the name correctly. A wide of variaty of names for the same models is the result.
But i need it per model the same for all computers.
How to do this?
Thanks

Hi:
Here is what you need to do...This model doesn't need the asset tag or serial # change utility...
After entering BIOS Setup by hitting the F10 key, press Ctrl+A to open additonal fields in Security>System IDs menu.
Enter your PC's serial number in Asset Tag Number and Chassis Serial Number fields.
Save changes there and again when you exit the BIOS.

  • App update... changing product name

Yesterday my app was put on the app store... unfortunately my product name isn't right (the name that appears under the icon when installing on the iphone)... I had a temporary product name, which I thought I changed before submitting... but I think I only changed it in the debug configuration... so the release configuration still had my old product name...
So I fixed the product name in the release configuration and submitted an update...
so I have a couple of questions:
    1) Will apple accept this update? Nothing in the app itself has changed except for the product name... but I think it's important to have the right app name appearing under the icon...
    2) The binary file name is different from the initial submission... will this cause a problem for updating in any way?
    Thanks.

    No prob.
Make sure your Distribution build has the right product name (just want to make sure everyone reading knows, since I only mentioned "release" build in my original post)
I think the best way to make sure might be to go to Project -> Edit active target... then select "All configurations" in the drop down at the top... then change the product name in the "Packaging" section... it will set all builds to the same name...

  • Change STB name in Mobile Remote

Is there a way to change the STB name in Mobile Remote? Currently, they show up as STB1, STB2, STB3 and STB4.
I would like to be able to name them the way I have on the 'My Verizon' page as Living_Room, Den, Bedroom, Basement.

You should be able to rename your Set Top Boxes by doing the following:
    1.  Log into your home router
    2. Click on the My Network Icon
    3. Locate the Set Top Box in the list
    4.  To the right of the device listing click the button that says "rename"
Let me know if you need any further assistance.  Thank You for Choosing Verizon

  • Lost product name in BIOS?

I have a script to look at laptop product names but some have lost their names. They used to be called "Tecra M2" for example but now are "Portable Computer". I have tried restoring factory settings on the BIOS but it is still the same. I suspect it is to do with using the Prodcut recovery CD but i am not entirly sure.
Does anyone know why this has happened and how i can fix it? I can provide more info if it is needed.
    Jeremy.

Ok I have found out a little more the information is DMI information and can only be reset by TOSHIBA. If the laptops effected are under warrenty then this can be done under that.
This information is important to me because I am writing a script which looks at the model number and then installs the relevent utilities for that model.
I am still unsure as to how this information was lost in the first place.
    Jeremy.

  • Need help with changing the product name for a HP LaserJet Pro 401n to use on a ePrint network.

I am in a school environment, naming printers is imortant.
Bonjour Service Name and Device Description name have been changed. IOS7 devices see the Bonjour name but ChromeBooks see the Product name. How can I change the Product name on the printer so that it is then recognized by HP Connected and shown to ChromeBook devices?

You should be able to change the product name in Google Cloud.  The ChromeBook uses Google Cloud to print (Google Cloud uses HP ePrint).  Log into your google account and change the printer name there.

  • *Really* change my name on Macbook Pro with Lion

Please read my question carefully, this is, I think, a question for the experts. It's not the usual name change question.
When I setup my new MacBook Pro, something slipped by me and my computer was named First-Lasts-MacBook-Pro (using my real first and last name).
I changed the computer name in Preferences/Sharing to a new name and Preferences/Accounts to just be Mike. I can right click on my account name, choose advanced, and see that everything looks right.
However, If I do a scan of my network with my iPhone using the free version of IP Scanner, it lists my computer as First-Lasts-MacBook-Pro! And it lists the user as First-Last.
So even though another Mac just sees my new computer name, and my home folder is Mike, somewhere in the system the original setup with my full name is still stored. And it's available on a network scan. So my full name might show up at a coffee shop.
Can I fully change the name without doing a complete re-install of Lion and all my apps?

While we all have MacBooks in this forum most of us don’t have Lion. There's a Lion Support Community where everybody has Lion. You should also post this question there. https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/mac_os_x_v10.7_lion

I have two printers on my network.  Does anyone know how to change the printer nomenclature - Officejet Pro 8600  (0B54AF) to a recognizable name...like Brad's Office when you use Airprint?

You would have to change that in the printer's settings on the printer, if that option is offered by the manufacturer. The iPhone just finds printers on the network and uses the name they have given themselves or that were given to them when they were set up.

My MacBook Pro keeps making copies of a document that I am trying to save. I don't want to duplicate the file. I only want to save it on both my hard drive and my external hard drive. I do not want to change its name for every save, which the computer seems insistent on doing. Help!!

I did not create the file to be read-only. I created to be able to continue to add to it as I work on it.

  • How do I change the name of my macbook pro?

How do I change the name of my macbook pro.  My full name is listed on it and I want to change that.  In the upper right hand corner it is correct but all that lists is my login name.

Mr. Pat, there are some people who still try to do that, but you are risking losing all your music, photos, email, etc. It is not for the faint of heart.  This page, albeit published in 2003 by Dr. Smoke, is still pretty valid, IMHO:

    BigTex415,
my condolences for your family’s loss. If all she seeks to do is to change the display name, and she’s willing to leave the account name unchanged, then she could do the following: log in as the administrative user and open the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences. If the padlock in the lower-left corner is locked, unlock it. Select the account that shows your brother-in-law’s name on the left-hand side of the window, and then on the right-hand side, change the text in the “Full name” textbox to her preferred display name. If desired, click on the padlock in the lower-left corner to relock it.
