Hp pro book 4510s touch pad and buttons notworking.

i have pro book 4510s , my touch pad mouse buttons stopped working, i tried to restore and even change the operating system hoping that it was corrupt but all the same its not working until today, please help me.

It may well be a driver issue but considering the loading: Xorg trying to load different drivers is somewhat normal. @cafe you can see that these are autoconfigured by X above the loading in the log:

Keyboard, Touch pad and battery are not working.

I cannot turn on my Macbook (10.4.11) without the power adapter connected. The keyboard does not work nor does the touch pad. I've searched the forums for anyone else with this problem, there are similar instances but mostly related to Leopard. I'm having to use an external keyboard and mouse to continue working. Looking for fixes.

DV4-2049 brand new out of box...
The left click will not work to highlight text, copy, paste.   The tap and rt click, window pull down, work fine.
Funny... the story matches all of you.   Wanted to remove/install driver, I suggested we look for issues first or ck the dates of drivers.   Seemed to hose my EXPLORER window and speed.   Then the bios change and I said should we ck the dates/Revs and we moved forward.   No reading of fix, or this has been issue and I asked many times is this a issue.   I also saw this on the store demo unit when I was cking them out. NO REPLY.... wish I looked here first and pushed to talk to tech/svc manager.
Phone help tried to take over my computer and link/web would not work it failed!!
Tech also wanted me to do system restore and I declined.   I replied I have not loaded anything yet, only updated Norton and did a little web searching, windows update, HP update.   I also looked at the pad and button settings ... found nothing I missed.   I called them incase there was odd box/set I missed.   I hate being lied to, they know from I am reading here... two threads so far and 2-3 people on each.    I did not want to restor.... nothing is changed.... do not want to exersise the Hard Drive.   Asked her to research problem and find the fix... rather than just keep changing stuff.   The bios was flashed for the same bios rev.
While doing this work with tech.... the pointer went to top and not moved from top right.   The parts of screen starting to flash, the curser would lock, IExplorer got very slow... to 30 sec to load the internet page vs 2 sec
I also just found..... you can switch the fuctions of rt/left button and still copy paste.   But the left button will not pull down the pull down windows.   What a mess!
You can go to system information and print of your currrent list of soft and hard.   That will tell you what is up todate and what is not.

Touch pad and keyboard not working!

Just the other day while my computer was starting up i took a tissue and started to clean it. Then the password screen popped up. I typed in the password and started to browse the web. After about 1 minute, my touch pad and keyboard stopped working! I tried to restart the computer and it did nothing. I then restored the computer to this morning ( the update my computer did while it was turning on also the time i was cleaning it. ) and it still did nothin. Please help with this problem, right now im using a USB mouse and a on screen keyboard!

It was mandatory for me to install Linux, for my studies. So I hope it doesn't break the warranty, because it would be unfair for people who need to do what I did.
The problem is that I am right now in Finland, but I am French and I bought my netbook when I was in France. So if I send it back to HP France, it will take weeks and weeks to get it back here, and shipping cost will be really expensive, and I will be without computer during several weeks, which is impossible for me as I need it for my studies. That is why I want to go to HP Finland and ask them. I know I could call them but the last timeI called HP France, I waited for hours and didn't get any answer on the phone.

Touch wheel and buttons don't work

Touch wheel and buttons dont work. Ipod works with my Alpine car stereo, while using the stereos selector wheel. Sometimes the Ipod tries to work normally, but the buttons still won't work.

You might want to try the five R's

Sorry, the newer panels aren't backward compatable with the current generation of machines.
You could simply buy a new Thinkpad !!

Ideapad S400 left touch pad and clicker not working

I've had this device for less than a year now, and all of a sudden the left touch pad and clicker are not properly working. If i try to click on something sometimes it doesnt work. My Macbok Air 2011, I brought in Aug. 2011 on Apple Store, was broken. After checking by apple engineer, touch pad and keyboard is not working.
From 9/17 to date, my computer is still repairing and I cannot use it.
I think apple should compensate this and extend my warranty...........
After this, I think apple already lose the credit for me. If I can return for this goods, I would like to return my AIR and get my money back.
The Macbook air waste my time and let me very very unhappy now.

Elite book 8460p touch pad technical specs

I would like to know what the elite book 8460p touch pad is made of - is it anodized aluminum? if so, specifically what anodizing technique was used? where can I get the same material. If it is made of plastic, what specific plastic is it? where can I get some?

Material specs would fall in the realm of trade secrets I doubt HP publishes anywhere. The obvious place to get a sample of the materials is to try to find a broken laptop you can pick up cheap.

If you just had water on it, just let it sit and get dry with the computer turned off for at least 24 hours. If it still fails to work properly, you may need to modify your System Preferences for the Keyboard and Mouse setting to ignore the trackpad until you can get it fixed. Alas, that likely is not covered under warranty.

How do I handle that my delivered mac book pro was broken (touch pad) although packaging was fine?

Found that my new, finally arrived computer, is broken (touch pad completely crashed). The packaging is fine. It must have been broken when being put in the box which makes me even more frustrated. Then, when calling support, no help is available until Monday. Sooo frustrating...

Synaptic + Clickpad / One big touch pad with buttons

I just got a new Thinkpad E420s!
The touchpad is just one big touch pad. There are no seperate buttons for the touchpad. However, there are buttons bulit-into the touchpad at the bottom. How can I figure synaptic to support this kind of touchpad. When I click and hold the button (left) and try to drag it gives me a right menu.
I can still use the touchpad when above the buttons as long as I'm not pressing down. I think synaptics is registering a touch on the botton and a touch another part of the touchpad when I try to drag things.
I know this is a crappy description, but hopefully someone can help me.

Well I guess it is called a clickpad and there is a patch for the synaptic driver. Some nice lad created an aur package: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=38120
Edit: That package helps but I can't hold the mouse button down and drag something using the mouse. The mouse stay stationary when dragging.

1.Download hp support assistant.
2.Run it and go to the tab updates and tune-ups.
3.Click in the button check for updates. It will find you the updates.
4.Click in the button Download and Install.

Also if it doesnt' work , you can also try :
1.Right click to the computer.
2.Click to the manage option.
3.Then select the device manager.
4.After that go to imagine devices and select your camera, then right click on it and select the option update the driver software do the same in the touchpad.
If and this doesn' t work unistall the drivers and install them again.
