What you will need to do is create a HiRens BootCD on a USB flashdrive, boot to it and use the DOS tools to crack the BIOS password.

  • HP Probook 430 mousepad issue

I'm having issues with the mousepad with several Probook 430. What happens is that after å while the mousepad gets choppy in the vertical direction. If i go in to the synaptics driver and reset, the problem disapears for a while. It also disapears while i hold down one of the mouse keys.
I have tried to update mouse driver and bios without luck. I've been in contact with HP support, they have changed motherboard and mousepad on one of the computers, but the issue still remains.

OK, found some kind of solution:
in battery & power saving settings there is setting for CPU maximum state. If set on 70%, then I got desirable frequencies.

  • Probook 430 G1 - The worst notebook I have ever had

Good Afternoon HP (or whoever may be reading this),
This email is written to address HP customer support.
I will try to keep this message as civilized as possible. I abhor people who abuse manufacturers/sellers just because they have a problem with a product. In this case however, I am beginning to reach the absolute edge of my patience, and so I beg for your forgiveness if I come across as being too blunt.
In August 2012, I purchased a Probook 430 G1, which was one of the newest batches installed with the Haswell chips back then. This was a student promotion offered by my school, Nanyang Technological University, in Singapore.
I don't really want to get into the specifics of the EXTRAORDINARY journey with this laptop, because it makes my blood boil. But the gist of the matter is this: I paid approximately SGD$1200 for this unit, a i7-4200, 4GB RAM model, hoping for a decent experience. What I got back in return was a horrendous laptop which had problems surface from the 2nd day I began to use it. That's right, 2nd day, not 2nd week or 2nd month.
I sent the laptop to HP service centre for a total of 3 times, as well as 1 time where they sent a technician over to try and resolve my problem by installing a new hard disk and then a new motherboard. Problems, not necessarily happening all at once were:
Ultra-incredibly slow performance. I would click on Settings, and it would take 5 minutes before the Power option came up, another 5 minutes before the Sleep, Shutdown, and Restart options came up, and another 5 minutes before the laptop actually shut down. Clicking on internet explorer would take 5 minutes before the browser started to open.
Screen brightness went crazy. I suppose there is a auto mechanism to change the screen brightness according to ambient light. Well, all I can say is that there were times for no reason the laptop would intermittently change brightness back and forth in a jerky manner which almost gave me an epileptic fit
Hard disc problem detected, please blah blah reset blah blah diagnostic blah blah. Every single freaking time I switched on or off my laptop, the same message would appear.
Two times when I sent the laptop for repair, and specifically on the second time, I was told that it was a hard disk problem (I don't need to know that because the computer already displayed that. Tell me something more which any 5 year old kid looking at the computer screen can read out) and that they would replace it for me. I insisted the second time that I was sure it couldn't be a hard disk problem because the first time I retreived my laptop from the service centre, the EXACT SAME PROBLEM had occured. I implored them to perform A THOROUGH CHECK ON THE LAPTOP rather than just replace the hard disk, and was told that they would. But hey when I went back to collect the laptop, guess what had been done this time? HARD DISK CHANGED AGAIN. Of course, I was delighted that they took my begging into consideration. And yes you guessed it, THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM... AGAIN happened. And so came the third repair request...
I was told that they would dispatch a technician down to my hostel (I stay on campus) to help be rectify the problem. In the first place, they did not send the technician during the time period which they promised, but I'm not too strung up over that. The technician stripped my laptop to the barebones, and said that everything looked fine, and by examination, from looking at the components, the only evidence of change over the last two repair sessions was a simple hard disk change, and that the other components had not been removed for checking or diagnostics (another indicator of A NICE, THOROUGH CHECK). So he said changing the motherboard might help, and of course I'd kill to make the laptop finally fully functional (this was already 1 year + after the original purchase. I had reverted back to using my DYING OLD LAPTOP WHICH WAS STILL BETTER THAN THE USELESS HP JUNK I HAD TO DEAL WITH)
So he replaced the motherboard and everything, but when rebooting and doing some technical stuff, he told me that a NEW ERROR HAD OCCURED, and that the diagnostics for the battery had failed. Yay. Pleased to say however, I never use my laptop unconnected to a power source so goodness, saving myself from even more horrors. Well I could make do with that right?...
And now the latest problem. Cache problems. I don't really know what that means but trying to surf the internet has been murder. 'Waiting/ trying to detect the cache' or some message like that always pops up at the bottom, SSL Connection errors, the script can't even load. Can't even connect sometimes. The screen resolution I don't even know how to describe e.t.c, e.t.c, x100. I don't want to say more, but it is UNFREAKING POSSIBLE TO USE THIS LAPTOP FOR ANY USEFUL PURPOSE.
Okay so my rant is nearly almost over. I just want to say this. I am sick and tired of travelling down from my busy schedule just to give my laptop for HP to change my hard disk so lamely like that. I am tired of trying to troubleshoot, call, find HP contacts (Probook 430 is not even recognized on the model detection page for goodness sake). For the record, I had a decent-ish experience with my previous laptop which was also HP, and generally during the 3 times I phoned in, the HP person attending to me was very accomodating, polite and sympathetic, and I cannot help but be impressed by it.
But honestly, I feel like demanding nothing less than a full refund for my $1200 because honestly, I have spent more time trying to repair my laptop than using it properly. For the record, I have never asked for a refund for anything in my entire life. This is the first time I really want to do that. I will never ever buy a HP laptop after this because this experience has been too traumatizing to describe.
HP, if you are reading this, please wake up and buck up your idea

  • Probook 430 M.2 (NGFF) SSD

    I recently bought a HP probook 430 G1 laptop.
It came with a standard 500GB 5400RPM HDD. I want to upgrade it with an SSD.
Obviously I have the standard option of a 2.5" SSD, but I know that this laptop has an empty slot, which should be an M.2 slot, according to its manual. Also, i know that one of the options when buying it is to buy it with an M.2 120GB SSD.
If so, I guess that it is possible to buy an M.2 drive.
However I'm a bit afraid that it won't work. Do you guys have experience with this laptop with M.2 SSD, and can tell me for sure that this option WILL work?
    Thanks!
    This question was solved.

You are right...the Manual says this:
M.2 SSD and WWAN devices share the same connector; therefore, you cannot install both
    devices at the same time.
I would say the fact that you have a boot option for an mSATA must mean the M.2 slot and that would mean you can use it as the main boot drive and still have a regular SATA drive for storage.

  • SSD for ProBook 430 G2

    Hi,
I have 2 new ProBook 430 G2 on my desk.
I'm trying to clone existing HDD to Samsung EVO 250GB SDD with Samsung migration software provided along the SDD.
It's cloning ok until showing a message "Access violation at address 64D812CE in module 'Restore.dll'. Read of address 00000074"
After this notification Samsung migration application gets frozen and have to closed via task manager.
I managed to clone ProBook 450 G2 without any problems.
Called to Samsung, and they just told that maybe the new SDD is broken.
Got a new SDD, but still facing the same issue.
Any idea what could be wrong?
PC and sofware of Samsung has been updated.

  • SPACE Key on ProBook 430 G1 Stuck

I bought  an HP ProBook 430 G1 in May. After a couple of months of very light use, the SPACE key on the keyboard started to get stuck constantly. For a touch typist like me this is extremely frustrating. I have two questions:
    a) I live in Arcadia, CA. Is there a repair shop nearby where I can have the key fixed quickly (I'll need the laptop on a trip in a couple of weeks)?
    b) If I want to fix it myself, where can I buy a spare key (or a spare keyboard)?
    Thanks.

As this model is a business class computer, your question may be better answered in the HP Enterprise Business Community. You may also consider contacting the HP Business Support Center to request assistance with your question.
This may be a hardware issue, nevertheless try the following:
Try updating the drivers & BIOS from you product site.
Have you tried connecting a USB keyboard to check it if it's the board at fault here?
    Try this:
    Shut down the notebook
    unplug the AC Adapter
Disconnect all the external peripheral devices
    then remove the battery
Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds
Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter
Test for hardware issue from BIOS System Diagnostics by pressing F2 or F10 soon after restart - do component test - keyboard test.
    Reboot,
Tap away at the esc key with USB keyboard as you start the notebook to see if this will launch the Start-up Menu
then select F10 to enter the bios menu
Press F5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes F9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key )
use the arrow keys ( assuming they work in this menu ) to select 'Yes' and hit enter
Press F10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Note: If you find the keys don't work in the Bios menu, then this is likely to be a Hardware issue.
    This might help you:

If troubleshooting doesn't work, it's probably hardware issue.

  • Probook 430 G1 and G2 power supply?

Pretty simple question. I have some Probook 430 G1 and G2 notebooks. I may have mixed up the chargers but I have 3 chargers here that wont work with the G1s yet are fine with the G2. Is their a difference between the 2?
    Thanks

Look on the chargers for the Volts  and  Amps.
Then look on the bottom of the laptops for the Volts  and  Amps."It may be under the battery."
The Volts  and  Amps on the laptop is what is required for the laptop.
    Remember Volts times Amps equals Watts."V x A =W"

  • Hp probook 430 g2 uninstalling hp programs

How do i uninstall programs like hp client security or some another hp programs?? answer fast please

    Sampa,
    Welcome to the HP Forum.
    Fast Answer:
Programs like Client Security are programs like any other -- Uninstall from Programs and Features:
Uninstall, change or repair a program
The CATCH:  If you ever want to use your fingerprint passwords again, you should Export your webcards -- that is, the websites and passwords database that is used with the Client Security database.  You will have to see your help file / manual on how to do that for your version of the Client Security software.
You must have a reliable means of logging into the computer in place of the fingerprint scanner -- for example, if you have managed to switch off your typed in password login and you now remove the fingerprint software, you might manage to lock yourself out of the computer.  Not good unless you know how to get yourself back in.  Make sure you have a password login that works with a password that you know.  Unsure??  Create a an additional account that has admin privileges BEFORE you start deleting stuff.
Windows 8.1 has a Native fingerprint scanner logon -- not associated with third party security software.  This is tied into the Biometrics.  Get to it / remove it through PC Settings.
Be careful with all this stuff.
BEFORE you make any changes, do this:
Create a Restore Point:   Create a Restore Point – Win7  OR  Create a restore point Win8
Click the Kudos Thumbs-Up to show you appreciate the help and time from our Experts.
