HP Probook 6570 WIN 8.1 64-bit sound not working, headphones works

After I unpluged headphones my speakers don't work anymore. Tried to reinstall IDT software, but  no luck.  My speakers properties show 3 audio jacks, but no internal audio speakers. Need help!

• Just installed v 10.4.1.10 on computer(win 7 Pro 64 bit). External speakers stopped working.

Worked before the upgrade, not afterward.

Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

• My hp probook computer(win 7, 64 bit) will not communicate with my photosmart c 6180 printer

HELP! My hp probook computer(win 7, 64 bit) will not communicate (wireless)  with my photosmart c 6180 printer. I did have this problem about 6 months ago, and here it is again! I have uninstalled my printer driver, then reinstalled, turned off, and turned on all three , computer, printer, and router (verizon).  I tried the link that uses scan doc to determine the problem, but that too cannot find my printer. Also reinstalled the WEP in my printer.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hey there @kickbk00 , Welcome to the HP Community
I saw your post about the wireless communication issues your Photosmart C6180 is having when connecting to your computer. I understand you have tried recycling the network devices, and uninstalled and reinstalled the printer to no avail.
I would next suggest this troubleshooting guide below. Click the link and select your OS, Wireless Network, and "Solution two: Manually resolve the issue" and follow the steps in order:
'Printer Not Found' Error Message Displays for the HP Photosmart C6100, C7100, and Officejet Pro L77...
I hope the printer communicates with the computer afterwards and connects successfully!
Please get back to me with the results!

• HP Officejet 6500 E709n Series on win 8.1 64 bit

I recently upgraded my computer to an asus desktop running win 8.1 64 bit. I cant get my officejet 6400n to install properly. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times. It does recognize the printer and prints fine but the scanner doesn't work consistantly. I have no communication from the printer to the computer and cant scan over 100 dpi or the scanner freezes. I can only scan once and then the computer loses communication with the scanner and I have to restart printer and reboot system. This is getting old quick!

Hey @ehtoth ,
Thank you for taking the time to post on the HP Forums today! Hope you enjoy the experience.
I understand you are unable to scan consistently since upgrading to your new computer.
Please use the Print and Scan Doctor that HP has made available and see if it can fix the issue for you.
Click here to download and run the Print and Scan Doctor >>> www.hp.com/go/tools
If it doesn't fix the issue let me know and we can go from there. Have a great day!

• I want to install windows7 on my 27in iMAC. I have an OEM version of Win7 which is win pro 7, 64 bit english.  I will use boot camp to partion the hard drive for a win7 install.  Can I use this version for the installation ??

My iMAC is a 2011 3.4 GHz intel i7 based with a 27in display.  A year ago, I bought a Microsoft win pro 7 64-bit english OEM OS to install over a newly assembled AMD PC.  I never installed it.  Now, I want to put it on my iMAC using either Apple Bootcamp or Parallels.  The win 7 OEM package has a lot of verbage about using an OEM preinstallation kit (OPK) and that it must be preinstalled on the hard drive.  Is it OK to install this win7 version following the Bootcamp instructions.?

Please post in the Boot Camp (not Bootcamp) forum I'm sure someone there can answer your quesiton if no one here is able to.

• Lastpass doesn't install into firefox 18. I'm using win 8 pro 64 bit.

I have ie 10, firefox 18, and the latest version of chrome on my win 8 pro 64 bit os. I first used the universal installer for lastpass password manager to install lastpass on all my browsers. It showed up fine in ie and chrome but there was no sign of it in firefox 18. I checked the toolbars under the view tab and there was no sign of it. I've been using lastpass for about 1 1/2 yrs now and this is the first time it didn't show up in one of the browsers. I tried reinstalling using the universal installer and I also tried just installing it in firefox through the addons. There is still no sign of it. If you know what is causing this , I would like to know. Thank-You......John MacKinnon

Same problem, Windows 7, 32 bit, Firefox 18.0.

• Can not import Outlook 2007 .CSV or .PST files into Outlook 2013 on Win 8.1 64 bit

I have a new computer (Sony VAIO Pro 11 Ultrabook) with a brand new install of Win 8.1 - 64 bit and MS Office 2013 Professional Plus.  Everything works fine EXCEPT I can not import my contacts or calendar from Outlook 2007 Win 7 - 32 bit into the
.msn folders in each case.  I can open .pst files in Outlook 2013 but they open in a local file and when I copy and paste them into the Exchange ActiveSync .msn contact and calendar files so that they will sync with Outlook.com Outlook 2013 crashes.
It can't even be reopened unless the wireless is turned off, and then you have to create a new data file as a default and then delete the old account and re-establish it.  I have tried using the import functions as well with both
.CSV and .PST files that were exported from Outlook 2007 and an error message stating that this is not supported comes up.  I have also tried to turn on sync with my iPhone to see if the files will sync from the phone through Outlook.com and nothing happens
there either - no sync on the web and nothing at the PC.  Email works fine after adding the account again etc.
None of the procedures on the forums work (open PST file in the local folder then copy/paste, drag/drop, or move the files) so please don't respond with those links.  All result in crash.  Does anyone at MS know what's up with their latest
and greatest SW?
Thank you for your assistance.

Import the calendar and contacts in Outlook.com. For contacts, export from Outlook as csv and import into Outlook by choosing the Other option (https://people.live.com/import/other?biciid=ImportCatalog)
You'll need to save the calendar as an ics file to import it. Select the calendar folder, the File, Save as an save as an ics.

• Firefox on Win 7 64 bit is a big memory hogger; on Win 8.1 32 bit, it's not

As above; I have several PCs, on two of which I use FF regularly. One PC has Win 7 64-bit as OS while the other has Win 8.1 32-bit as OS.
I noticed that Firefox on Win 7 64-bit is a big memory hogger, sometimes eating up more than 2GB of RAM and obviously getting into an overflow of some sort after prolonged use. It essentially has some problem regarding memory or chache management, as closing tabs does not lower RAM consumption. It is not possible to leave FF open for days without experiencing this error. In Task Manager, I noticed that when the overflow occurs, FF keeps increasing its memory consumption.
On Win 8.1 32-bit, the above problem does not exist. Closing tabs lowers memory consumption, an overflow does not occur, and leaving the window open for days does not affect performance.
Can anyone help?

Memory leaks are almost always caused by plugins or add-ons. These leaks can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from mozilla.org (or choose the download for your operating system and language from this page) and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (or open the Firefox menu and click the close button ).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*Windows:
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Installing Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found here.
<b>WARNING:</b> Do not use a third party uninstaller as part of this process. Doing so could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be easily recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u> See Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles. <!-- Starting in Firefox 31, the Firefox uninstaller no longer lets you remove user profile data.Ref: Bug 432017 and https://support.mozilla.org/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer/discuss/5279 [Fx31] Windows uninstaller will no longer offer the option to remove personal data -->
Please report back to say if this helped you!
Thank you.

• Why i can't install itunes on my PC with win 7 pro 32 bit ?

dear apple.
Could you tell me how to install itunes 10 or 11 on my pc with win 7 pro 32 bit ?
when i try to installing itunes my PC has appear error so i can't complet install itune on my PC
Im trying many time but it just send me error and i cant finish installing itunes
So could you tell me how to fix that ?
Thanks
Jonny

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

• P205-6267 - WiFi mysteriously shuts off - Win 8.1 32-bit

I resurrected an old Satellite laptop my daughter was using for a long time as a 'desktop.' Monitor wasn't working. Once I got her a desktop PC, I managed to repair the display, install a new hard drive and install Win 8.1 32-bit on it.
It has been working well for a few months (wicked fast with Verizon FIOS - 35mbps!) but now I'm having a mysterious problem with the internal WiFi adapter mysteriously shutting off for no apparent reason. Sometimes the troubleshooter can turn it back on, sometimes not and I have to reboot. Lately even rebooting doesn't help - it comes up turned off.
I recently had an overheating problem, solved with an air cleaner spray can. I worry the overheating may have damaged something.
I don't know if the adapter is going bad or if it's a Win 8.1 compatibility issue. I could go back to Win 7 32 bit if necessary, but I'd prefer to fix this first, if possible.
Details:
P205-6267
Windows 8.1 32-bit
3GB RAM
Network Adapters:
      Intel(r) Wireless WifFi Link 4965AGN
      Driver Date 10/7/2010 Version 13.4.0.139
Digital Signer Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Layer
"Update Driver" says the best dirver is already installed.
Device Manager says "The Device is working properly."
I don't mind downgrading to Win7 but I don't want to do all that only to find it's a hardware problem. Any install I do will be a clean install - I don't have or want the Toshiba disks.
Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts regarding:
Running Win 8.1 on a p205
Troubleshooting a possible hardware failure on the WiFi adapter
Buying / Installing a replacement WiFi unit if it IS a hardware failure
Upgrading the CPU to run 64-bit Windows (that last is extra)
Thanks in advance...
Barry

Just to let everyone know, I downgraded to Windows 7 32-bit and everything seems stable and fine. My guess is there was some incompatibility or insufficiency in the WiFi driver that made it unreliable in Windows 8.

• Why does (only)Nightly erase(delete) clipboard contents when I close it on my Win 8.1 64 bit HP desktop?

After using Nightly for several months on a new HP Win 8.1 64-bit All-in-One desktop, I've noticed that if I have copied anything from Nightly to the clipboard, it disappears when Nightly is closed, and is not available to be pasted into any application. This includes graphics and text. I just recently realized that Nightly was the culprit when copying from the address bar before closing Nightly, in order to paste the location into Chrome or Firefox - it was gone! A little experimenting verified that it was the act of closing Nightly which cleaned out the clipboard - I just verified by copying this message, and pasting it into a text file, then closing Nightly only to find the clipboard empty when attempting to re-paste the same info into the same text file - gone! I find this uncomfortably reminiscent of past Windows "features" which drove us buggy! ;)

This happens because you run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.

• I have an I Mac june 2009 24" type 9.1 can I install win 7 pro 64 bit via bootcamp?

I had Win XP servicepack 3 installed via bootcamp. Recent OSX updates changed bootcamp and it supports now only Win 7.
I was not informed about this change.
So to be able to use my Win XP applications again I bought Win 7 Pro 64 bit OEM.
The Cd wil work until I have to install and format the new ceated partition.
I cannot choose between FAT or NTFS the installation continues and Woindows will be unpacked.
The counter remains on (0)
Nothing happens further
What is wrong?
PLS somebody with a solution?
