HP PSC 1210 OUT OF PAPER MESSAGE

My HP PSC 1210 printer will copy documents with no problem. However, when I try to print a file it does not go ahead. The printer setup indicates it is "out of paper", although the paper is there, and as I tell you, it will easily print copies. It also prints test pages normally, when  pressing Cancel and Start Color buttons.
This printer has been working fine for years. The problem with printing files is one week old. I have already tried disconecting the printer from power for a minute with no solutions. Also changeid its connection to other USB plugs in my laptop. Opened the try from behind. Everything seems clean and fine.

  • Officejet A909a prints from mac but when from windows "out of paper" message appears.

I have an older 8500 which has been very loyal to me and I have looking after it well, which is now pushing 4000 pages.  However i went to print a file from my Windows 7 PC yesterday which is connected via usb, and it wouldnt print saying it was out of paper (which it wasn't) about half full . So i tried again no luck. UN-installed then reinstalled the printer still noting. went to my work laptop (windows 7) which is connected wirelessly through the network, same again "no paper" message appears. i thought this is strange turned it off back on still nothing even after disconnecting it from the mains for a few minutes, nothing the same message still appears.
However, my son has a mac book pro and he just printed his coursework off the printer effortlessly through my network. so i know the printer is fine especially as i have now printed self test pages off through the printer itself.
I have no idea what to do now, as i have tried uninstalling then installing, printing via usb and network. and when i say "out of paper" i mean the printer receives the print command from my computer as it tries to feed paper a few times but cant pick it up also i have tried with various paper levels in the printer (full, half, about 20 pages, 1 single page)
    Please help.

    Hello @Dangerous97,
I understand that when printing from your 2 Windows 7 computers you receive an 'out of paper' message after your HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer struggles and fails to pick up paper. However, you are able to print from a Mac computer. This is very unusual behaviour!  I would like to assist you today with resolving this issue. Also, thank you for including that you are able to print self-test pages from the printer with no issues as well.
Generally, 'out of paper' messages are caused by a hardware issue with the printer itself. Because you are able to print standalone to your printer and from a Mac, there may be an issue with the documents that you're trying to print from your Windows 7 computer or a programming issue with your printer.
With that being said, to start I would like you to click here to download and install the latest programming Firmware Update on your printer. Once the website opens select the Download button on the top left. Once the download is complete, please follow any onscreen instructions to send the update to your printer.
Once the Firmware has been successfully updated, please test printing again.
Please respond to this post with the result of the Firmware Update. Good luck!

  • Whenever I tried printing from my iPad or cell phone I get a out of paper message

Out of paper print error whenever trying to print from my iPad or cell phone
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi,
The default settings for Airprint on Apple devices is to print photos from the photo tray and all other documents from the main plain paper tray. If there is no photo paper present when you try to print a photo, you'll get an out of paper message, even though there might be plain paper present.
For more flexability in terms of media and tray selection, please download the HP e-Pprint app and print from within the app.

  • Out of paper message

In the printer control panel on my laptop, I have cancelled a document in the print que and the screen shows "deleting" as it has for the last 2 hours.  When I attempt to print another document the the laptop screen says the printer is out of paper, which is not the case as I can copy and print test reports. It seems the document print that I have sought to cancel is preventing other print jobs with the out of paper message. How do I fix this please

When trying to print an envelope, I get an error message - "out of paper" and cannot proceed.

    Hi novalani,

  • Photosmart C309a envelope out of paper message

When I load envelopes and execute a print, the printer loads the envelope with no problem, but then reports "out of paper" error message.  This only accurs with envelopes.  I have problem printing on paper sheets.

Hello @bscull, welcome to the forums!
I understand your Photosmart Premium C309a model is showing you an "Out of Paper" error when printing on envelopes. My suggestions to you, would be to follow the steps in the link below, if the option is within your printing program, choose to feed the envelope in a different way, and also try printing them from another program altogether.

  • 8500A Photo Printing Paper "Out of Paper" Message

When I place a sheet of HP photo paper in my 8500A Office Jet Printer it will not print, either in the tray or the feeder. The unit states it is "out of paper."  Photos will print on regular paper, but NOT photo paper.  I have tried putting only photo paper in, photo paper on top of regular paper.  Nothing works.  BTW I see there was a similar post, but when I click on the "solved...go to solution" it returns to the post.  Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. It's like it won't/can't grip the photo paper. I see the rollers touching the paper but it just won't advance to print. And yes, I have the paper in correct side (back) up .

  • HP Envy 5640 "Out Of Paper" FALSE MESSAGE

I have "Out of Paper" false message. When I pressed "PRINT" on my Iphone/Ipad, the printer still printed for me. BUT the menu on Iphone/Ipad did not provide me THE RANGE, so I had to print the whole docemunent. I JUST WANTED TO PRINT A FEW PAGES with "RANGE OPTIONS" By the way, I tried everything: Turn On/Turn Off, remove the paper tray, put in brand new paper etc . I still gave me the false message "PRINTER OUT OF PAPER"

Hi , Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand you are getting an 'Out of paper' error message on your HP Envy 5640. You were able to print from your iPad and you tried some troubleshooting steps but the error message remains. Let's go ahead and try a Hard Reset: 1. Unplug all cables and memory cards from the printer. Unplug the power cord, directly from the back of the printer while the printer is still turned on.
    2. Unplug the other end of the cord from the power source.
    3. If there is a power module on the power cord, disconnect one end and reconnect it.
    4. After 60 seconds, plug the cord directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector or battery backup as they can cause the printer to lose basic functionality over time).
    5. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
    6. The printer should automatically power back up. If it doesn't, turn it on with the power button.
    7. Try making a photocopy (if your printer is an all-in-on printer) before connecting any other cables to the printer.
    8. Connect any other needed cables to the printer.I would like you to go ahead and continue troubleshooting here, I understand there is paper in there, it may just need to be cleaned and reset: An 'Out of Paper' Message Displays on the Control Panel and the Printer Does Not Pick Up Paper. Let me know the outcome, is the error message gone. As for the printing options available on the iPad, take a look here: Printing Over a Wireless Network with Apple's AirPrint FAQs PAGE RANGE: I hope this helps.

  • HP LJ Pro P1102: Stuck on "Out of paper"

    Good day,
My HP LaserJet Professional P1102 ran out of paper while printing. I placed more paper in the tray, but since the printer has no "resume" button, I could not get it to continue printing. I deleted the print job from the queue, but the "Out of paper" message is still there. I switched off the printer, removed the USB cable, restarted, but nothing helps. The message stays there. Except for resetting the print system, what else can I try? The printer driver version is 6.9.
    Thanks

  • My computer says i am out of paper when i am not

my computer shows its out of paper, when its not

    Unie,
If your Printer indicates the error, then what you do depends on your printer's model.
You can look up the troubleshooting tips for your printer:
    Open  HP Drivers & Downloads
    Enter your Printer Model information
Select your Printer from the “Results” list
Open tab "Troubleshooting" > Select Solve a problem > Jam and Feed Problems >
Select An 'Out of Paper' Message Displays ...
The exact wording may vary.  The point is to find the document that most closely matches your situation.

It is a nice way to say “Thank You” for the help.

  • OfficeJet 6500a plus n Out of paper but paper tray is full

Out of paper notification. Paper tray is full. Windows 7 operating system 64 bit.

"Out of paper" message appears for one of the below mentioned reasons:
    The paper trays are overloaded.
    The paper is curled.
The paper is too slick for the product.
The paper might not be engaged with the feed rollers.
The paper width guide is pressed against the paper stack too tightly.
The paper tray is not completely inserted into the product.
The paper settings in the print driver do not match the paper loaded in the paper tray.
The rubber paper feed rollers are dusty.
Try methods mentioned in the link given below and check error message still appears
