HP PSC 1410 All in One HANG INDEFINITELY with Remote Downlevel Document

Hi, after a few days of setting up my PSC 1410 All In One Printer, which is hooked up to a Compaq Presario V3000 running on Windows XP SP3 with AMD Turion 64x2 processor; and shared print to a Sony Vaio VGN FW33G, and a Mac Pro running on Snow Leopard OS X 10.6
Just yesterday, my printer was jammed with a "Remote Downlevel Document" which I can't remove after using these methods I've researched:
1. "Right Click and Cancel" x [indefinite] times
2. "Right Click and Refresh" x [indefinite] times
3. "Restart" x [indefinite] times
4. "Restart" with printer hooked on/off to the USB x [indefinite] times + [indefinite] combinations of whichever comes first
5. "Unhook USB and Click Start>Run "net stop spooler" and Rehook USB and Click Start>Run "net start spooler" x [indefinite] times
6. Did virus scan for suspicious virus using Anti Vir
7.  And in between, combinations of the above x [indefinite] times
8. Search on the internet which obviously there's no real solution
Please help.
Regards,
Bobby

Am (attempting) to print direct from my MacBook - admittedly I did not install any printer drivers during the Leopard (clean) install and am a bit confused as to whether I'm now using the right one, but from what I can gather from the threads like this now littering this forum it wouldn't have made much of a difference. I had infact presumed my problem was just that - that I hadn't the right driver.
Like I hinted at previous; I can reconnect the HP to my old G4 running Tiger and print with no trouble whatsoever.
Trying to print from Leopard brings up the print dialog, and subsequent utility as it should but then nothing - as if the MacBook's not talking with the HP (though it happily recognises it as being there and what model it is etc.).
I have not yet attempted to print over the network, mainly because I couldn't succeed as is. Or tried to scan as it happens (I hardly ever use the built in scanner as I have a better one and the PSC is my backup - I scan a lot in my job).

  • HP PSC 1410 All-In-One no longer prints

I have an HP 1410 all in one. I also recently updated to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. My printer no longer prints. It will show up in the print queue and the status will say printing but nothing will happen. After a few seconds it claims the printer is ready to print and stops any jobs in the queue. I have tried resetting the printer, tested all the connections, power cycled it both with the power switch and power cable, restarted my computer multiple times, I've tried updating the drivers (but I'll try again here in a minute), and I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Am (attempting) to print direct from my MacBook - admittedly I did not install any printer drivers during the Leopard (clean) install and am a bit confused as to whether I'm now using the right one, but from what I can gather from the threads like this now littering this forum it wouldn't have made much of a difference. Hello Jai_pareek,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you would like to install your HP PSC 1410 to your computer running the Windows 8 Operating system. You tried downloading the Windows 7 driver but are now getting a fatal error. Please go ahead and start with the steps listed below:
    1. Unplug the USB if using a direct connection.
    2. Remove the HP PSC 1410 software from your computers Control Panel's Uninstall a program option.
    3. Restart the computer.
    4. Make sure ALL the PSC 1410 software is gone from the programs list as well as your HP folder listed under the All programs in your Start Menu.
    5. Now go ahead and download the software and drivers for your PSC 1410 (DO NOT plug in USB until the software prompts you to):

Install what?  If it is the PSC 1410 then what operating system? Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit version?  See my post here.
If a different printer model please start a new thread after reading  this post and then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, bluetooth?

  • HP PSC 1410 All-In-One printer problem!

I have a PSC 1410 for a while now and I reinstalled Windows 7 recently and now the printer's not detected but I can scan documents. What could be the problem? It was working fine before I reinstalled Windows 7 and I've obviously installed the drivers.

  • HP psc 24110 all-in-one - Problems scanning with OS X v10.5.7

Hi, I have been using my HP psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one printer successfully for the past 10months with my MacBook Pro. I recently upgraded my OSX operating system to v10.5.7. since then my printer has been unable to scan. It will print, copy & fax. Checking the HP website shows the latest version of OS X does not support the scanning function of the psc 2410. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem or do I have to buy another scanner? Alternatively, how do I get back to the previous version of OS X which was supplied with my Computer so that I can get the scan function to work?

    Hi aviete,
There is no full feature software and driver but you can download HP Printer Drivers for OS X. This download includes the latest HP printing and scanning software OS X Mavericks, OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.
With this driver you can still print and scan, you just wont have HP software to scan from. Scanning to the computer from the printer control panel is only available when using HP Scan software, thus it will not work because there is no HP scan software as apart of the Apple Software Update driver.
    Instead, you can scan using,
Method one: Scan from the Print & Scan window
Method two: Scan from Apple Preview
Method three: Scan from Apple Image Capture
I hope this helps. If you have any additional questions are have any difficulty using any of these methods, please let me know what method you are trying and what the issue/error is. • HP PSC 1410 All in One

My HP Solution Center for this device, with no warning, failed to operate. I can click on the desktop icon or in "All Programs" and get no response. However the HP Photosmart Essential 3.5 , inttaslled at the same time, opens as usual. I can still print and copy with the device.
My operating system is Windows 7 professional. I can still scan with my alternate scanner HP Scanjet G4050, but I have to set it up each time as I only use it for bigger and more accurate  (I think) scans. This is used with a desktop.

Hello and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're experiencing software issues.  I would like to help with that!
I would recommend performing a power reset on the printer.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would then suggest downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
