Please can someone tell me how to instal an old HP psc 2050 J510c onto a Lenovo Thinkpad T410.

It is my understanding that you are not sure how to install your old HP psc 2050 J510 onto your Lenovo Thinkpad T410 that is running windows 7. I would like to help you with this.
I would start by running the HP Printer Install Wizard for windows 7 and 8. If all goes as planned, it should do most of the work for you.
If it does not work, then please let me know. We can then go through the installation the "old fashioned way".

I tried to install printer driver software for my completely new HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP on my Lenovo ThinkPad X1 laptop. Lenovo runs on Windows 7 64 bit. The installation failed during Installation preparation (77% complete). The process stopped saying an error occured without indication of the cause of the error. I have tried installion both from the CD following the printer product and downloading from the HP web, with the same result. I then then turned on my old computer, a Dell Precision M2400 with Windows XP. The installation went perfect without problems on this computer. Is there a bug in the SW for Windows 7 (64), or is some part of the printer SW sensitive to HW variaton between PC companies even if the OS is the same?

I have the same problem with my Lenovo ThinkPad T420 running Windows 7 64 bit. Tried absolutely everything I could find on the blogs and nothing worked. To me, seems like a software problem (glaring, given the popularity of Lenovos and the Windows 7 64 bit systems). Returning the printer tomorrow and will not buy another HP printer.

After doing clean install on Lenovo Thinkpad W541 I have lost access to CD/DVD burning Software

Where can I get it back? I don't personally need it, but I burn CDs every now and then for my parents because they are still kind of old-school.

Worst case, just install IMGBurn. Should be perfectly adequate.
Just be sure to do "custom install" and opt out of OpenCandy (or be running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, which will automatically prevent it). Sorry... the product is fine, but like many vendors the "bundle" is crap.

Unable to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on Lenovo 3000 J115 7387-26U

I am unable to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my Lenovo desktop. Model : 3000 J115 7387-26U.
When I try to boot my DVD, the systems makes a loud whirring noise.. as if trying to read from DVD, the screen goes blank couple of times and then Windows XP starts up (from my HDD).
I have a Windows 7 32 bit DVD and it successfully started up and I could see the install screen (though I didn't install it. I want to install 64 bit version of the software).
Anyone else seen this problem? Is there some workaround available?

The Intel link you posted doesn't work, so I don't know what you have tried.
See if this works...
Download the drivers from this link below (first file listed -- 64 bit).

Extract (copy) the files onto a usb flash drive without any folders.
With the flash drive and W7 installation media plugged into the machine, boot from the W7 installation media.
After you select the install now option, select the Drive Options - Advanced menu, then select the Load Driver option.
You should now see the storage driver files listed.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
Follow the prompts and hopefully, W7 will install.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Lenovo ThinkPad E530. This laptop is only brands new.
KB954430, KB973688 & KB2538243 - These three updates keep giving me problems. In Windows Update, under "view update history" these keep showing up as failed. I also get the error, "Code 643".
At the end of the installation it tells me three updates are failed to be installed and when I shut down to try to update, Windows always configures up to ~15%, then fails, and reverts changes, then prompts me to install updates the next time I turn my computer on. Each time, I have to re-install every update that I had installed prior to shutting down.
I went through Trouble shooter - "Fix it" numerous times, Repaired Net framework profile and also followed few instructions I found from the net such as running "Reset Register Windows update Components" but nothing works so far.
I even tried manually installing KB954430 but it told me "An error occurred during the installation of assembly component. 7B30B69B-OE6C-B7EO-A06B-D6B9ABF34537 HR RESULT: 0 x 80070BC9" and the installation bar seems to stop at "Publishing Product information", then rolls back the installation.

Unable to install Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework on Yoga 13

I recently purchased a Yoga 13. I just got Windows 8 Enterprise installed on there. I am unable to install Intel Dynamic and Thermal Framework. I downloaded this directly from Lenovo Support (the file is labeled "Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework for Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit) - IdeaPad Yoga 13").
During installation, the service agreement is in another language (Chinese, perhaps). When the installer starts running, I immediately get an error:
"The setup program failed to install one or more device drivers. Setup will exit."
And that's it. What do I have to do to get this to install? Am I downloading the right version? I don't see another version to download anywhere. I tried finding the software on Intel, but I was unable to. When using Intel® Driver Update Utility, it recognizes hardware that needs drivers, but it does not give me the Dynamic Platform download.
Any help is appreciated.

I have been investigating why my Yoga-13 might be freezing up (about once every other day). While looking at errors in the event log, I came across errors that led to the following sites when I googled the error:

T510 unable to install the Nvidia NVS3100 under XP

Hi for some reason we had to install windows XP instead of windows 7 on a T510 with the NVS3100 video card;
I'm unable to install the Nvidia driver 6md136ww.exe! The program gives me an error cannot find the driver for your hardware.

Do you have Nvidia Optimus model or just plain Nvidia with switchable graphics? See this support page, verify and then let us know.
Keep us posted.
Edit: Also, did you change switchable to discrete in the BIOS before installing the driver? I don't believe XP supports switchable graphics, further is your XP updated to SP3? This is a requirement.

I've a complete fresh Install of Windows 7 x64.
There is a problem. I am unable to install Rescue and Recovery v4.3.
Setup aborts with this error:

Have you ever seen you since the Win7 integrated backup solution? This is no longer compare with "ntbackup" too! :-) You can create system images - individually as well as protect your data. Das bedeutet, selbst wenn Du es installiert hast, ist es ohne Funktion. Zu diesem Thema existieren bereits Postings. Mein RnR habe ich gestern wieder deinstalliert... Hast Du Dir denn schon einmal die Win7 integrierte Backuplösung angesehen? Diese ist schon nicht mehr mit "ntbackup" zu vergleichen! :-) Du kannst Systemabbilder erstellen - wie auch Deine Daten einzeln schützen. Diesen Tipp fand ich übrigens auch bei einem Leidgeprüften RnR - User :-) Sieh es Dir einfach mal an. Vor einem Patch ist RnR momentan sowieso nicht zu gebrauchen. Hoffe, das heitert Dich ein wenig auf! :-) Viele Grüße

Hi,I am unable to install windows 10 on a Think Pad Edge 520 (Windows 7 fully updated) as I am unable to remove Rescue and Recovery version 4.5. I have tried windows uninstall and tried CCleaner uninstall but get the message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.Any help would be appreciated. I have wasted an hour of my life bycontacting Windows answer desk but they were as much use as a chocolate fire guard.Im sure that I must be in the right place for help now!

Thank you for answering my post. I tried "perfect installer" but that didnt work either. I then rang Lenovo UK and he just didnt want to lnow even though I selected the problems with windows 10 choice.I found the solution myself which was to download a fresh copy of Rescue and Recovery, restart and then remove using the normal windows environment. Windows 10 now loaded and working ... but I cant get the Credential Manager to start and this is preventing me from setting up the Mail program/App. Any help would be gratefully received. I wonder if thee is a conflict with the Lenovo Password Manager?

Ok so I downloaded the most current installer CS5.1, My previous installer was version 5.0. It did install fine fully updated to my license version. I just wanted to update in case anyone in the future has a similiar experience. Too bad this advice was not offered by the "experts" here.

I am facing problem with installing SQL Server CE Server Tool,
I have installed SQL Server 2000 SP 4 which is working fine.
While i am running Setup of "SQL Server 2000 Windows CE Edition version 2.0" ,Developer tools installed successfully but incase of SQL Server CE Server Tool i am getting following Error
"SQL Server CE Tool is compatible only with SQL Server 2000 Service pack 1 and higher.
When you install SQL Server CE Server Tools on a computer running both IIS and SQL Server 2000 , ensure the installer for SQL Server CE Server Tools corresponds To the version of SQL Server 2000."
I am sure that i have running SQL Server 2000 SP 4 (MSDE also SP 4) , IIS (Version 5.1) is also working fine , and one more thing i am trying to install SQL Server CE Server Tool setup is "sqlce20sql2ksp4.exe" (Which i downloaded from microsoft site.).Here all the requirement is fulfill but i dont know what is going to wrong.
I wasted my 2 days behind solving this issue , now i am tiered ,So please any one have solution for this issue.

Unable to install SQL server 2000 and 2005 on Satellite A205-s5831

I Needs some helps from all of you.
I have Toshiba Laptop Satellite A205-S5831.
Its Have Windows Vista Home Premium.
And I am unable to install SQL server 2000 and 2005.
I also Unable to Install Windows XP SP2.
Problem is SATA driver.
Plz Help me ...!

Hi
The Windows XP needs a SATA driver if you want to install it on the notebook with SATA HDD controller.
The SATA driver can be found in the Intel Storage Manager.
I would recommend using the nLite program to include a SATA driver into the new Windows XP CD and then to boot from the new created XP CD.

Regarding SQL server issue;
Maybe you will be able to install in on Windows XP. Possibly there is a compatibility issue between the Vista and the SQL server software
