HP PSC 2175 stopped printing from computer

I have an HP PSC 2175.  It's worked just fine until the other day.  Now it won't print anything from the computer.  I can print a test page from the printer itself, but it won't print a test page went sent from the computer.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers.  Tried rebooting both my computer and printer and nothing happens.  I use Vista and the printer is connected via USB.  Not sure what the issue is, but I NEED my printer to work!  Any suggestions?

I am struggling with the same problem with my HP2355. I was in touch with HP support with a Mac expert. He told me that there are no driver updates available for this all in one product and he told me to look for an open source driver (sic!). My all-in one is printing and copying, but he doesn't make a scan since I upgraded my Macbook Pro to Leopard. The only thing I (you?) can do is waiting for versiontracker to come up with an open source driver. PC people (Vista) had the same problem, it is a small consolation, but I bought yesterday a Canon (inktjet printer) instead of a HP. HP for sure knows how to retain customers. good luck Gerard.

  • HP Envy 4500 won't print from computer

    Hi,
My HP Envy 4500 has been working perfectly for quite some time now.  Unfortunately, it has stopped printing from my Dell laptop, running Windows7. It scans to the laptop just fine.  It copies fine, and it prints from my iPhone fine.
I have looked at a ton of posts and tried many things:
*uninstall/reinstall wirelessly (at least 8 times) -- via the https://123.hpconnected.com/activate/woobe/ENVY4500 site
    *uninstall/reinstall via USB
*ran print/scan doctor utility (or whatever it is called) and been told everything looks fine
*sending a test page via one of HP's tool is fine, however, printing the internal test page via the HP tool fails
I am losing my mind and would really appreciate some help.
    Thank you!

    Hello @JNZM,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to assist you today with resolving the issue that you're experiencing when trying to print from your Windows 7 computer to your HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer. Thank you for including all of the troubleshooting steps you have completed prior to reaching out for support. At this time I will be running you through some troubleshooting steps to check the actual print system on your computer. The Print Spooler is what controls printing from Windows computers. It is built into the Operating System. If the Print Spooler is experiencing issues than you will experience printing conflicts. Should the Print Spooler be experiencing a conflict, the software and scanning feature for the printer will not be affected. Can I please have you follow the steps below.
    Step 1: Check Print Spooler:
    Click on your Start menu
In the 'search programs and files' box located right above Start type services.msc and hit enter on your keyboard
When the Services window opens scroll down until you see Print Spooler
Click on Print Spooler once just to highlight it
If you see Start in the top left hand corner than that indicates that  your Print Spooler is in fact Stopped (not good). But we will leave this for now.
If you see Stop or Restart in the top left hand corner than this indicates that your Print Spooler is actually Started. Please click on Stop to temporarily Stop the service.
Minimize this window as we will need to come back here
    Step 2: Check Spooler Folder:
    Click on your Start menu
    Select Computer
In the Computer window select your C Drive
    Click on Windows
    Click System32
    Click Spool
Click PRINTERS. You may get a permissions warning, just Continue past this.
The PRINTERS folder should be empty. If there is any files in here they are corrupted print jobs. Right click on anything in this folder and 'delete' the files.
    Close the PRINTERS folder
    Step 3: Start Spooler:
Reopen the Services window we previously minimized
Click on Print Spooler again to highlight it
Click on Start in the top left corner
If you get an error message please take note of it
If the Print Spooler starts successfully you will see 'Stop and Restart' as your options in the top left
Once the Print Spooler has started please test printing again. If printing fails, or if the Print Spooler fails to start, please proceed to the next step.
    Step 4: Run Microsoft Fixit:
I'm going to have you run a Microsoft Print Fixit Tool to identify and correct any print system issues or Registry corruptions on the computer.
Please click here to access the Microsoft Fixit website
Once the page opens under section (2) select Print, fax, scan, share or save.
Under section (3) select Run Now for Diagnose and fix printer and printing problems automatically
Once the download is complete please follow the onscreen instructions to run the Microsoft Tool
Once the Fix has run, please test printing again.

  • My hp wireless printer prints from computer

my hp wireless printer prints from computer, but not ipad or i phone. officejet 7500a no wires hooked up. wireless is working. router works and network works. please help

I assume you have enabled Web Services from the front of the printer?
First, try restarting your router by pulling its power plug momentarily.
If that does not work, let's set a static IP address & external DNS for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A e-all-in-one has stopped printing from my computer

My 8500e has been working fine for months.  My computer is an HP HPE Phoenix h9t.  I'm running Windows 7.  The printer is set up on the wireless network.  This week it just quit printing.  I have uninstalled, reinstalled, downloaded diagnostics.  You name it, I've done it.  Nothing in my network or computer setup has changed.  I can set up the wireless on the printer itself--it sees my wifi network, I enter the security code, I can print the wireless network test report from the printer itself, everything is pass and excellent.
Then when I install the software on the computer, tell it I have an IP address from the printer, which is connected wirelessly, I put in the IP address from the display screen on the printer and computer searches then says it can't find it.  I have also reset the printer to factory defaults.  No go.
We are definitely on the same, secure home network.  However, now when I enter the IP address that the printer is giving me into IE, to see if I can see it that way, it can't find it.  Is that where the problem is?  How do I fix that?
I am WAY beyond frustrated, my work is frighteningly behind, and my husband can't airprint from his iPad.  I have searched the forum and can't figure this out.
Thanks for reading through my litany of woes...

  • My computer has stopped printing from the internet, I used to be able to but not now?

I can no longer print from the internet, I can print my own documents, but not from internet. This has only just started to happen what can be the problem?
    Your help would be appreciated.

What mechanism are you using to access the printer remotely?  If it's supported directly by the printer, which printer?   (It's fairly uncommon to have an openly-accessible printer on the Internet, so there's usually some security involved here; a VPN or other mechanism to protect the traffic, and some authentication.  The ISP can also block some of this traffic, and your network firewall is also involved in permitting or denying access.)

HI @anewleaf , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're running into copy and print issues.  I'd love to help!
I have a few questions before we get the ball rolling:
Are you using Windows or Macintosh?
If you are using Windows, is it a 32-bit or a 64-bit system?
    Do you recieve any errors?
Is the printer not printing any pages, or printing blank pages?
I'm including documents that will help you find the system info:
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

  • HP laser printer b/w suddenly stopped printing from photoshop

I have a mac 10.6.8, and an HP 1102w, which I got specifically because the ink contains iron oxide which I can fire onto my ceramic sculptures. It has been working fine printing from photshop CS5 for several months. Today I tried to print  and got a page of very fine vertical lines down most of the page and various horizontal marks at the top of the page. The same file prints ok on my Canon printer, and files from Preview print fine on the HP. I changed the cartridge, which was getting low, but that didn't help. I closed all the apps and turned off the computer, also unplugged and replugged in the printer.  It only doesn't print from photoshop. Please help!

Thank you Michael, but I don't know how to delete the printer driver. Can you walk me through it?

  • Vertical lines, like a bar code, only when scanning or copying. Printing from computer is OK

I get vertical lines , in black & white & color, when scanning or copying.
When I print from my computer, all is OK.
The lines resemble a full page bar code.  I have done a cold reboot & run the HP trouble shooter, all to no avail.
I do not see a bright light during scan or copy.  Could the problem be a burnt out bulb?

    Hi @TAEZZAR
It certainly could be a the scanner bulb. Do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause.   Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector
In this document you will see, ISSUE: Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protector
^ This is not limited to Laserjet printers.
Let's perform a hard reset. To do so, leave the printer on and unplug the power cable for 1 minute. While it is unplugged, hold down the power button on the printer for 10-15 seconds to release any built up power, then after the minute has passed, plug the printer back in.
Also, please click the link below to ensure the printer has the latest firmware update. This firmware update can improve printer performance and fix miscellaneous defects.

  • Photosmart B8550 stopped printing from Win 7 Home Premium

I've had a Photosmart B8550 for several years. It used to print from my Win 7 Home Premuim setup, but won't now. I've attempted several fixes, driver un-installations and re-installations, including what is described in a thread that started on this forum on 7/15/13. The cumulative result is that I can print beautiful diagnostic pages from the HP Solution Center software, but nothing from any application running on Windows, nor a test page from the printer properties page in Control Panel. When I click the "Print Test Page" button on the printer properties page, I see the page flash briefly in the B8500 Series printer queue window and disappear -- but no page is printed. Is there a fix I haven't seen? Does this mean the printer has fried? Is there one last attempt I can make before (probably literally) heaving this one out the window?

    Hello jevaino,
I would like to assist you, but I require more information:
    Is your Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit?
Is the printer connected to the computer using a USB or wireless connection?
Did you try installing the printer software from the CD, download from our website, or built-in drivers on Windows?
Please answer these questions as soon as possible so I can assist you. Thanks.

My Photosmart C4280 All-in-One was working fine and suddenly it will not print from my computer.   After trying Diagnostic Utility 4.1 the message appeared that it has "encountered a problem and needs to close."  Also, a message appeared that it is "offline."  Can anyone help to get it back online?  I desperately need this printer in working order.

What operating system? How is the printer connected?

My HP6210 all in one printer will not print from a computer that has Vista. My operating system is Windows. The printer worked fine with my old laptop which did not have Vista. However, soon as I connected my daughther's computer, which has Vista, it will not print. My computer no longer works so I need to use hers. What can I do to get it to work? Thank you,Beeky27

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I noticed that your HP Officejet 6210 will not print from your Windows Vista computer. I am happy to look into this for you! First, I would make sure that the full feature software and drivers are installed, by downloading it from this link: HP Full Feature Software and Drivers. Then I would run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, to make sure everything is working. We will start with these steps and go from there! Hope this helps!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

  • Cant send prints from computer to printer.

Printer: HP Officejet Pro 8600 plus
Operating system:  Mac OS X, version 10.6.8
    Installed printer and software.
Ran connectivity test, passed with flying colors.
Printer printed the head alignment test page no problem.
But when I print something from the computer to the printer, I get the following error
    message in the printer queue:
    /Library/Printers/hp/cups/Inkjet3.driver/Contents/MacOS/Inkjet3 failed
What does thiss message mean and what do I do about it.

If you are using Snow Leopard, Lion or Mountain Lion and have HP software for pre-Snow Leopard (either from a CD not marked as compatible with 10.6 -10.8 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard, Lion or Mountain Lion and had the HP software on your Mac before you upgraded - even if you did a standard uninstall of the old software or installed new software over the top of it) you must uninstall the software using the 'scrubber' option:
Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard/ click on HP Uninstaller
    Click on Continue
Highlight your device on the left pane
Press and hold Control + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard simultaneously while you click on Uninstall <<<< This IS the Scrubber Option, there is no button labeled "Scrubber"
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall ALL hp software. (At this point, if you continue, any HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click Continue and let it finish
    Restart your Mac
    Now reset the printing system:
    - Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
    - Right (control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
Finally, download and install the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.
